I feel like once you tune low enough, it goes from djent to a new style like "uberdjent", around double drop D range
I’ve heard of bands going by destructive djent, which seems to be around the double drop C to D area. Anything lower is just cataclysmic djent.

Spasm by Meshuggah was originally played on 7 strings all the way back in 2002, then they went on to remaster the album on 8 string guitars in 2006. They were so ridiculously ahead of their time. Such a cool song, and such a ridiculously good album.

I'm pretty sure it was in the key of F# both times, not Drop A# lol, idk what he's getting about about here. F# is way too low for proper intonation on a 7 string so i see why they went back with proper 8 strings. i love the remaster of nothing.
I became so happy when you hit C# and C, cause both of those riffs are some of my favorites. Den Helige Anden is a masterpiece, and Nadir from Black Tongue is maybe my favorite deathcore album ever 🤘

Honestly it doesn’t get any heavier for me once you hit C. Lower doesn’t automatically mean heavier. For me, the heaviness comes in the form of rhythm, tempo, and just the way the riff is delivered in the song.

I think Spasm was pitch shifted, if I recall they talked about it after the re-lease of Nothing? Might have made this up.

The beauty of all this is that some bands don't even bother pushing their bass into the 0 octave, the just play the same pitch but on a bass in order to get some lows into the mix still
