BTM won the Grammy for song of the year, for this song, and album of the year. Personally, I like Home Free’s version, just a bit more. It’s was such a treat to watch your expressions as the meaning of the lyrics washed over you. If it’s possible, you were even more lovely ❤
Yes, Rob killed it. All the boys were good. When they were on the Sing Off on NBC Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they did the song justice. So good and good reaction AyoJess!😍😄
Great reaction! Let us introduce you to Gospel Rob!!! I’m in the camp of the original was great - grew up with it - but IMHO Home Free has made it even better for today. #HomeFree never disappoints!
Enjoy watching your reactions. If you have not seen, highly recommend the following two: Their cover of the O'Jays - Love Train, and for Christmas, "Do You Hear What I Hear". I know you like Tim, and he blows out the low register in this one.
Rob, is such an underappreciated vocalist.... but we Home Fries know though. Their latest Rob is again lead and that one will have ya chair dancing...the song is "I want crazy"...react to it, you'll love it
They totally nailed it. When I come to the End of the Song, I always have to remind myself it is a capella! 4 voices and a beatbox.... Freakin' amazing!
For many of us 'seasoned fries', this WAS the original because we were far too old to have paid any attention to B2M. And, yes, Rob was magnificent in this.
When Home Free does a cover, they pay homage to the original, but always make it their own. Their covers are always upgrades❣️🎼🥰🎶❤ As far as I'm concerned all of the Home Free guys "emote" through their music/videos better than just about anyone else out there--and in this one Rob showcases his gospel/R&B genius in a way that seems to surprise everyone ❣️❣️❣️ #HomeFree
These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance is holding down the bass in the back, Tim adding some deeper bass notes & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men was one of the judges on the "Sing Off" that Home Free won & he was a big fan of these guys from the start. I'm sure he loved their version of this song.
I know the original ensemble has so great a sound and ONE CANNOT EASILY allow for another version being better .... but, SORRY THEY ARE BETTER by far. Just phenomenal talent bass, baritone, tenors and beat boxer !!!
If I hadn't already subscribed I would have for this reaction alone. Great job! I think we all feel the same as you - what a great performance by the guys!
I believe I've already used every adjective in the thesaurus to complement Rob and Austin for their leads in this amazing performance. So I'll find a new word to describe the background vocals during Rob's verses : "mellow". Smooth doesn't quite do it -- the harmonic blends are just so mellow! And the choruses raise it up to "stupendous"! Home Free never lets me down. Thank you for a great reaction!
That's funny that you don't know that song. Love your reaction, your personality, your great smile. So cute. Most people that know the original say this version is more of a country sort of sound. I don't think so.
@AyoJess Just watched this again. Your appreciation of Rob makes me think you'll want to hear their version of Joy to the World (live) with Gospel Rob leading. Should be on your Christmas list. It's one of their oldest videos, at the Hosanna concert 2013.
Listen to the original .that will really blow yourmind for sure.. Boysto Men. I'm shocked that you havn't heard them ..Enjoy the original version .Still getting a thumbs up cutie...☺️
Not gonna lie.... if you have never heard the original, don't know HOW DIFFICULT it is to emulate Boyz II Men... you are really missing out on so much my freind!! They KILLED this cover
The Home Free version is extremely good and I really love it, but it doesn't have the emotion of the original. When Nathan sang "The pain in my head, I'd rather be dead", we felt the pain. The deep bass monologue at the end made us feel like the entire group had been dumped and they were all hurting. This one feels more like an academic musical experience. Home Free did a good job, but the original version blows it out of the water. A lot of Boyz II Men's success was that their songs weren't just brilliant, but they touched the listeners to the core. I understand that musical taste is subjective and you have your opinion but please listen to the original version with good audio and your eyes closed and you'll get what I'm talking about.
You might like Rob and Austin's version of "Nessun Dorma " if you haven't heard it yet...
happy thanks giveing
This was most of us meeting Gospel Rob, he walked out and collected hearts
If you love Rob’s voice, you should review him and Austin singing the opera classic: Nessun Dorma. Rob can sing anything!!
Don't you just love it when "Gospel Rob" comes out to play?!!
Absolutelyyy
I agree with you Rob made this song his own
Rob kilt it for sure!
Rob rises to the occasion. Great reaction.
Gospel Rob killed it!!! He gives me goosebumps every time he sang it at the end!!!❤❤❤❤
Rob has so much soul.

Rob -- ROB is a BEAST!!! He can (and does) do it all! Be Safe
Yes, Rob killed it. All the boys were good. When they were on the Sing Off on NBC Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they did the song justice. So good and good reaction AyoJess!😍😄
Gospel Rob, y'all! And, yes, they ALL did the damn thing!!!
Chance doing background bass line is so good in this one. Except for his short lead lines Tim is up there singing chorus with Austin.
Just took a few seconds before your dreamy smile appeared...they have a knack for making that happen, don't they? 😀
Boys 2 Men would definitely be proud !! It's ok that you don't know who they are, B2M came up in the late like 80s 90s... they were great.
Rob, Mr. Soul Man!!!! One of their masterpieces for sure!!
Great reaction! Let us introduce you to Gospel Rob!!! I’m in the camp of the original was great - grew up with it - but IMHO Home Free has made it even better for today. #HomeFree never disappoints!
You should Check out Home Free's Cover of (Stand By Me ) . It's 🔥🔥🔥
Just beautiful singing. One of my favorites by Home Free, "WHEN A MAN LOVE A WOMEN" or Austin and Rob singing "NESSUN DORMA"
GR8 reaction, for someone who's never heard the original. Both versions are now a classic...
Enjoy watching your reactions. If you have not seen, highly recommend the following two: Their cover of the O'Jays - Love Train, and for Christmas, "Do You Hear What I Hear". I know you like Tim, and he blows out the low register in this one.
I knew this would get you. Rob kills it in the end
I think you are ready for Mayday!! Rob kills it in that too, but then they all kill it in Mayday.😊
I’ve reacted to mayday already actually! ua-cam.com/video/SVT_n19T5CE/v-deo.htmlsi=7v6ZqBR9aZSTg2l-

I am right there with you even though I'm an old lady. Rob is just awesome on this! Have you seen Home Frees Butts Remix?
❤️🤠Rob nail it.😍 Great reaction
They totally nailed it. When I come to the End of the Song, I always have to remind myself it is a capella! 4 voices and a beatbox.... Freakin' amazing!
If you liked this, you will REALLY like Home Free's original song, "Why Not." Rob leads that one too.
This is my favorite version. Loved your reaction ❤❤️🔥❤️🔥

Having seen several of your reactions, I enjoy you so much! I was surprised you didn't know Boys II Men.

New sub for your great reaction to this one! You were deep into their flow.

Obviously nothing will ever beat the original. But they do one hell of a cover ❤
Austin singing When a man loves a woman if you haven't you need to JUST SAYING !!!
Listen to Boyz II Men do it.. and you'll know how amazing this accapella (sp) cover is.
Love the " but damn". 😂😂❤❤
Killed it
This must be the lowest that Tim can go? 🤔 "Misty Mountains" - (Peter Hollens feat. Tim Foust} Be ready to be mind blown!!
i love this cover more then the original but its worth it to listen to the original also cause they are very good.
This is the way break-up songs are suppose to be

Drake white making me look good again is a song I think you would enjoy
Please react to pentatonix kiss from a rose 😭😭❤️
👍👍👍🇸🇪😎💕
I like this version better
I feel like you were deprived of some great group.
Sorry Jess, but Rob has a lady.
Great reaction! Liked and subscribed. If this one shook you, check out their cover of "When a Man Loves a Woman". Trust me on this.
They are ok but Pentatonix is so much better
