Hey man you said these are NPN mosfett. NOT TRUE
the large devices are bipolar transistors NPN and PNP; These are in the class AB output
the small Transistors are MOSFETT and they are switcher for the PWM power supply and most likely the output
failed and the short took out the power supply. YOU SHOULD NOT TOUCH THE MOSFETT BY HAND; THIS IS A STATIC SENSITIVE DIVICE.
HOWEVER CLEVER REPAIR METHOD. IF YOU NEED HELP IN BUYING PASSIVE RADIAOTORS FOR SUNFIRE, CALL ME
JUST A CORRECTION
😀
good to know
No need to worry about ESD they are blown
Very curious if this repair was succesful longer term? Those two resistors should be 270 ohm 1/4 watt. I have one of these to look at that has a loud humming coming from the speaker. Will be attempting to repair this in the coming week or so, I'm hoping it's just the caps and the semiconductors are ok. Have you fixed many of these ?
What are the part numbers you use as replacements for the 2SA1302 Bipolar Transistors and the IRF640's? Can't find replacements from Digikey...
My eq10 products popping sound every awhile, did you fix this before? Thanks
So the question is. Is thermal compound necessary for the transistors?
The original design does not have thermal paste it is not needed as the crews hold it down on a piece of paper to stop it from shorted on the heat sink.
Do you have a circuit diagram?
If I send you mine can you do the repair for me ? I have the same model . Turns on but no sound . Thanks
how far are you from Fergus?
We're do you order your parts from?
digikey, ebay
