I like this small opening on the facelifted Model S. I personally think that the Model 3 should get this instead of the solid 'plastic bumper' thing on the prototype models. Hopefully Tesla realizes this and fixes this prior to production.
Sidowse Ordered in advance means absolutely nothing; the production models won't see the light of day at least for another year. More than enough time to revise the design based on consumer preference. And I'm more than sure most would agree the front-end of the prototype leaves a lot to be desired.

I love the new face, looks more streamlined and makes more sense than a fake grill, which I get in the beginning they wanted to get they're identity out there, so now that Tesla's so popular no need for a fake grill, and I'm willing to bet the production 3 will have the same front(and a hatchback)...

Like the new front end, much cleaner and more elegant that old "tacked" on fake front end. Am also very surprised they didn't upgrade the cheap sun visor, it's not on par with other cars visors in this market segment.

I like the overall look of the new front facia and headlights. The bad thing about the painted body color close to the ground is a small bump or rub on a curb will leave a blemish in the paint, especially white and lighter colors. The classic MS hides the bumps in the front because it is black plastic. Plus the new MS will show all of the road grime that gets on the car along the sides with the painted sides. Bjorn, I am curious about the center console, mainly the rear seat side. Does the new MS have the pop out cup holders and USB slots in the back? Another difference mentioned in a Tesla email is the rear diffuser. It would be nice if you showed the difference in the new vs old MS in more detail. One last comment, if Tesla added the door pockets and perforated seats to the MS it would be a more perfect car, with all of the updated features in the MX. Seems like they went half way on this refresh.

Of course I received my car 2 weeks before the redesign. I prefer the look of the classic and also prefer the open center area between the driver and passenger seats, however, I would have liked to have had the LED headlights.
There was a lot of confusion about the liftgate when the upgrade was first announced. There seemed to be conflicting information about whether or not the power liftgate is now standard, or is still part of the luxury interior package (along with the Bioweapon defense mode, adaptive headlamps, etc.) Were you able to determine if the liftgate is powered on the stripped-down version you looked at?
I'm waiting for the P100D with Ludicrous 2.0 or something like that. I also think that together with the P100D the Model S will also bring out the 75D. There is a battery for the Model X like that, why shouldnt it also come to the S?
I am disappointed in the smaller Frunk if you don't have the HEPA filtration but otherwise pretty nice. Wish the center console was removable. Do you know if the old headlights were LED or HID?
They spend money and time to design door handles that is cool and improves aerodynamics ( ppl have complained a lot about door handle failure, only car with door handle problems) and they design air traps back of front logo that will cause drag. Tesla takes two steps forward and then a step back in many ways
Ooh wow. The white looks so beautiful. But to be honest I'd prefer the older ones. The facelift just doesn't look right on the S just like how the Model X prototypes had an model S front that looked ugly.
The old one just looked better in terms of colors. The black gave it a more aggressive supercar like look instead of the 'look I'm saving the world' electric car. The facelift is futuristic and great looking but lacks the character the old one had.
Is it me or the frunk is still not properly aligned on the left side? Quite noticeable when one looks at the top of the headlight, e.g. at 0:23 . I had hoped they would have gotten rid of those problems by now...

The assembly quality is partly actually really bad, didn't see that before. Look at the chrome lines under the logo, right under the frunk. They don't even match. Is that on purpose? Also the frunk edges don't match the rest of the car, as seen where the headlights are. At the bottom, the margin is almost non-existent, and in the middle above the headlights, you can stick your pinky inside. They should really take some lessons from Audi. Audi uses high res measurements of the produced parts and algorithms to match up the best fitting parts together.
I love the look of the car but the build quality isn't great look at the panel gaps It's American luxury they care about space not about the build or the feel of it

As you can see in the linked picture, the new facelifted Model S now comes with new features for the charge port: 1) auto-closing, 2) press-to-open (press charge port cover will open it), 3) LED ring around Type 2 charge plug. Did you see any of those? In the Berlin Tesla store they have such a new Model S.

Well if you subtract the battery costs, it's still as expensive as a Mercedes. They can do better.
