#Tesla forever changed the way we feel about electric cars when they introduced the #ModelS in 2012. It was the first of its kind to break the 200 mile range barrier along with the introduction of the extension supercharger network, it pushed Tesla to be ahead of the pack. The biggest problem with the Model S was its near six figure price tag, but as used ones become available, you can now pick up some for under $40,000 but should you?
One of the slowest Tesla's does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. That's impressive.
Any new model s does it in 4.2.crazy lol

Check out a review of the new Tesla Model S on our channel. Its our first video, and we would love some feedback :)
Thanks for the review Sofyan! I actually picked up a 2015 model S a few months ago, the used prices on these make them an amazing deal. Best all around used car on the market today!
DJ Quaz any problems come up so far?
@@waqaspathan3337 A few small things like 4 or 5, one was the washer lines were clogged. Took it in for service once and they were all fixed under warranty, been perfect since.
DJ Quaz I’ve been wanting to get one for a while, do all 2015’s have autopilot and do they have the same capabilities of the newer ones?
I gotta ask, how much are the certified used teslas?
@@jacksoncraig421 All 2015 have AP1 hardware as standard. The enhanced features is a software upgrade which can be done over the air if not already added by previous owner.
I’m so happy you guys did a video like this.
just picked up my CPO 2015 Model S 70D this past Friday. Drove it from NY down to Florida... still so much fun for an "older" car.
The Tesla Diaries Got the same car last week. The process took around 34 days to complete due to how busy they were. How was your experience?
bruh in what time hahaha :D i also have the s70d but takes very long supercharging
"I'm gonna try my best not to make this a comparison between a Model 3 and a Model S - " after comparing the Model 3 and the Model S for most of the video.
I've heard the air suspension is amazing compared to standard springs. If I were buying a Tesla from that era, I'd definitely be careful to pick one which has it.
@20:00 I love the symbolism of this part, Autopilot in a 2015 Model S just cruising right by a Chevy Volt. Tesla is so ahead of everyone regarding EVs.
Man, you always manage to ask (and answer) the questions I'm trying to figure out for my next car.
Great video. No gimmicky jokes. Just straight facts and a concise review. Subscribed. Thanks.
Unusable trunk! Please! Bad call. I get to use it lots more than the rear trunk. Much better place to put your groceries. Love the look of people when you come out from the store with several bags of groceries and open the frunk to store them. Rear trunk of course its mostly used to store luggage when traveling. I recently bought a twin box spring and mattress and amazingly was able to fit them on my S with the rear seats folded.
The sunroof open/close squeak goes away with a little WD 40. Agree, the sunroof wind noise when opening/closing while driving is loud and definitely weird.
Nice review.
Model s is just a big win for me any day over the 3
I really like that you're doing some reviews on older cars. it gives perspective
The only car brand that can get away with not offering Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or a volume knob.
I have a Tesla, their infotainment system is great and NAV is awesome. One thing I'd like from carplay or android auto is some kind of text integration, literally anything. My dodge has it but my super modern model S has nothing, really?
My Tesla has a volume knob and it's on the steering wheel. You scroll up to increase the volume and scroll down to decrease the volume.
Hulk yeah, but there is no knob below infotainment screen
@@elliottmanning4116 Yea, there's that too and it actually works pretty well. I would admit though that even though the radio is great, there's always an empty spot in my heart for my CarPlay but it's not really missed either I guess.
Elliott Manning Car play isn't necessary when your infotainment system is actually good?
The Model S is definitely the ONLY electric that I would ever even consider buying. Too bad I don't earn enough money in an entire year to buy one...
I bought one from salvage auction and put it together on my driveway, brilliant. I’m surprised how cheap was it.
By far, the best auto journalist on UA-cam in my opinion. Great job....
To me this car looks nicer than the model 3.. just saying
HaSTe_oNe yup
That's the point, brand new the car is 90,000+
@@andrewt3619 there's a used one for like 44k euros near me
Ofcourse, Model S is twice as expensive as the model 3 which is cheap model for low income people. Model S is the real deal. :) This car is insane
I adore that the car let's the driver know when they change lanes without signalling. I wish every car did that.
Redline, you nailed it. Based on recent Tesla S leaks, you may have been right all along with the interior going with the Model 3 direction. Good job.
Pre-owned electric is a good idea for other EV's as well. Generally they are leased or otherwise well-cared for, and are lower mileage than gas cars. I have a 2015 Chevy Spark EV. It cost 11K with 15K miles, is in perfect shape. Best commute car I ever owned.
Agree, I like a 2 to 4 year old car for significant savings while the car is still in great condition.
ANOTHER REDLINE REVIEW YASSSSSSSSSS
OTEZLA NUCCA!!!!!!
I don't think most understand is. A Lithium batteries shouldn't be charged over 80% on a regular basis. If you stay between 20 to 80% it will maximize the batteries lifetime. This also applies to cell phones and device with Lithium batteries
Yes that is true. They say you should only charge to 100% if you are taking a long trip.
Awesome... Go back in time and do a review. This is one of my favorite videos now.
For sound volume, there is a knob. Its on the steering wheel.
...It sounds nice and solid...
I've watched almost every review video of your channel and 90% of the times when you close the door , BAM! , you say it.
Now, i can't close my car's door without mind-saying it.
Must be your lifestyle motto. Lol
except the closing of doors
Very objective and fair review. Love your reviews.
The newer refreshed model s got the refreshed displays with higher resolution and faster chips 10:01

I’m so glad you film the Tesla model S great Review
Sounded like you were saying Tezla. Love ur videos ❤️
Manny Martinez Because that’s how it’s pronounced.
deztroyer76 Tezzzzzla? Nope, sorry, next.
Nice review and I can add another acceptable Model S to my list of potential buys.
This would fill my needs quite nicely although the 2016 models are still my preferred choice because of the Xtra tech upgrades.
With gas prices this high (August 2021), purchasing one of these ends up being a more cost effective option than my Ford EcoSport especially with one that includes free supercharging.
I’m thinking the same thing! There real cheap now but still a good buy. Im gonna get one & wrap it
I hope Tesla keeps the physical key for the model s and the more "traditional" interior.
Even used, the Model S should only be purchased by buyers that are fairly well off. Out of warranty repairs and accident repairs are a small fortune due to limited part availability, aluminum construction, and limited authorized service locations. Just as when buying a used BMW 7 series, Audi A8, or Mercedes S-class, be ready to pay if any repairs are needed out of warranty.
You can not compare those cars to a Tesla when looking for a good used car purchase. The list of things that can go wrong in those cars is huge, while it’s tiny in a Tesla. Tesla’s come with 8 year unlimited mile warranties on their battery’s and motors, and common replacement parts like window regulators are cheap. Also anyone buying a used luxury car is probably going to have insurance so accident repairs will be covered just like any other luxury vehicle.
lessdeth69 many more things can go wrong with a gas car. My Tesla has been awesome.
@@seanz6586 This is technically true but Consumer Reports data shows many EVs are not as reliable as expected. Tesla and other EVs should consistently be rated as excellent or at least above average but that has not been the case. I have three plugins and will likely be getting a Tesla next year but the reliability has still not met the expectations.
I was looking at used Model S but ended up getting the Model 3 for the warranty. No issues so far.
Or add 10k to the list price at carmax by buying the extended warranty
Awesome Review Of 2015 Tesla Model S. 😀
Tesla plans to simplify the S and X interiors to look more like the 3 last I heard. You can also use the left roller on the steering wheel to control the volume (the right controls the cabin temperature).
You can choose different things to do with the right roller. E.g. the opening of the sun roof or selecting who to call from your phone's list of contacts.
Don’t know why the Mercedes gear is considered problematic! I’ve got years of experience with that hardware, it’s well built, reliable and there’s no reason for Tesla to spend development cycles on something that’s not broken.
Great info video as always, thank you
You should have said high capacity battery and auto pilot in the beginning
I purchased a Model S P85 and it is amazing ! Love it more and more every single day. Over the air updates to make the car better and better.
Thanks, this was an excellent breakdown!
It'll be my next car, just have to wait 6 years for the depreciation to kick in and gather the money. I'm curious to see how a 12 year battery holds up
if I had to guess you'll prbably have 75% battery health left after 12 years
FYI that car is not on V9; they updated all the icons/buttons in the Model s/X to match the Model 3
The one thing I noticed when the energy use screen was on is you are lead foot type of driver. Take it easy and learn to drive not like you are expecting a microwave meal to get done faster that the recommended time.
Tesla has went through a lot to bring this cars out as you can still find a lot of "Tesla Killer" videos on the net right to this very day. I think of the term "Tesla Killer" as a much wanted desire by the entire automotive industry to go back to the way things were before Tesla Motors hit the scene.
This car is styled nearly perfectly.....gorgeous!!
The battery and motor warranty is actually 8yr / unlimited mileage warranty for all Model S except for the 60 I believe (not 8yr / 100k miles mentioned at around 24:20)
Panel gaps suck , but I love the car and the company
The noisy moon roof just needs its track greased. ALL moon roofs will be noisy when not maintained regularly.
Sorry, I have to disagree. I drive a 14 year old car (2005 Acura TL 6spd bought Dec 2004). Sunroof doesn't squeak at all. Never done any maintenance on the sunroof. And it hasn't even been garaged since ~2010.
This is a great video, according to a lot of articles out there, manufactures are R&Ding their own electric cars right now. VW is developing an electric car to complete with the Model 3. However, there is some sceptisium around whether electric cars help or do the same harm just because they don't use gas. If you look at the manics of electricity, there is a generator there that produces the power. Some times those generators are gas powered. Now not all charging stating do this, in Germany they have HUGE solar panel charging stations, they not over cover the car and keep it cool but it will also charge the car as well. There are humors that companies are teaming up to build solar panel road for electric car with wireless charging, so as you as driving down the car will do necessary charging.... both line, Teslas are great cars and no you don't have to go to a gas station but you do have to stop and charge it. When charging methods get better, ill take it more seriously and i think a lot of people are saying the same thing. Besides, Elon Musk needs to get his priorities straight, he just got booted (or stepped down) as chairman. Great video.
You don’t have the new update version V9, which looks much better. No other car company updates your user face to make the car owning experience better and better.
Looks isn't everything. v9 is a step backwards in usability and features.
3:20 rear wheel drive like the rest of the competition? Most 70K luxury sedans are rear wheel drive
Most are AWD now.
ua-cam.com/video/s7ckFM2k67I/v-deo.html
You can use a web browser in model 3 now (Even on Nov 9, when you filmed this)
Amazing how people say the Model S needs a refresh. It still looks better and definitely DRIVES better than the competition. For people who like a ton of buttons, then a Tesla isn’t for you.
In like the interior of this one over the new ones
Like the model 3?
thanks for another awesome review!!
my 66 olds toronado had a flat floor front and back, and more room and more beautiful awesome
11:50, its a single charger car, hence its a bit slower. For AC that really doesnt matter anymore as you still get a full charge in 6h. there is NO reason to get a big AC charger unless you live in countries without good DC fast charging coverage (africa, south america, australia)
Also, the Model 3 does have a web browser in v9
Great review!
Keep up the reviews man
Are you doing a review on that Honda in the background
So you need an 85 to get the big acceleration kick? 5.1 is good, but same as a lot of other sports cars.
Does the new Model S, X and 3 has better processor for the entertainment system compared to 2015 models ?
i love the type r at the end
worth the wait for this review. want the model 3 so bad
Could you please do a review of a 1990 R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R?
the funny thing about the mispronunciation of Tesla in this video is that Sofyan pronounces it correctly in his Model 3 video posted BEFORE this video ..kinda weird....regardless i'm a subscriber and enjoy the channel
Please do a full review of the 2019 kia optima sx fully loaded. Please please
Been asking this !
6:50 FINALLY: a door that doesn't sound "good/very solid" when it's closed. In a Tesla no less; shocking.
Not really suprising considering its the first gen Tesla model S...
It's a frameless door. Premium feature with some drawbacks as nothing is holding the glass from the top. All such cars tend to lack "solid thunk" when closing.
You noticed too... 😂 Its these little things with Soufiyan’s reviews that I love... Though I can’t say I’m the one to talk or even really care about how solid a car’s door sounds when shutting it... The one on my seven year old Mazda 3 sure sounds flimsy but still better than this Tesla...
You should hear the model three doors. Like a tin can with a slight rattle. Lol
18:01 I want to feel that every time I drive. Gonna get me a Tesla. Brb gonna go sell myself 😂
Hopefully you can do the 2019 Ford Fusion a review for that could potentially be one of if not the last great midsize sedan. Worldclass sound system
Kev123568 US won't be getting it apparently which is sad bc that car is actually one of the sickest cars as far as features & design.
I would like to hear more about your thoughts on the steering wheels between M3 and MS
I'm shopping for an EV and will get one around 2020, when my country is going to offer 6k tax credit. By that time, I'm really not sure whether to go for a brand new Model 3 SR (standard range) or a pre-owned Model S 70 with nice options.. :/
Great review. I'm sold on the electric car. I may start in an used i3 or Kona but dream of a Tesla
khalfani321 Don't know if you're financing or buying out right but save your money and put extra down to offset the costs.
Remember Autopilot can be added on later, i'd say keep it pretty base & go on from there.
I like this look better than the refresh. Great review as always!!!
What’s crazy is that the new Tesla’s have ZERO true leather, it’s a synthetic material. This 2015 does have the genuine leather, so it’s funny to hear you prefer the synthetic to the real leather!
Is the piano roof annoying when sun shines on you when you’re driving?
Even better, if the model S was built before 2018 it also includes their premium connectivity for free
Yea I’m looking at one or at least thinking heavy about it.
These used Tesla Model S's have free supercharging right ?
Ness Rosenbrad lets hope this is true. I really want to get one used
think I red somewhere they gonna start charging in the near future
@@galaxyblue1300 Same here I've been hearing all Tesla model S's have free supercharging for life, but know they will start charging sometime in the near future.
Up until October 2016, those cars do get unlimited supercharging. After October of 2016 (post-refresh) you do pay for supercharging. But most people charge their Teslas at home anyways. Here in Salt Lake supercharging is $0.22/kWh.
If the car is born with free supercharging (all but the absolutely cheapest entry models were), it follows the car forever.
Great video man!!! I love the 2015 Tesla model S D70!!!! I love y'all Tesla's! I love your Model 3!! I can't wait for the 2018 Tesla!! Do you like hocking loogies? I do! I can't wait for your next video.
Bridget: Is it Electric?
Me: Yes Bridget, it is electric.
The Tesla fan boys will never say their car is always breaking down, I know people who paid thousands of dollars in repairs, don't buy a used one without a warranty.
NATl harbor Springfield you live in the DMV same as me
you said it was a 6 year old interior and that is actually incorrect if you look at a 2012 model s you will see it is very differant than even this 2015 one
Weird the car doesn't have version 9 of the Tesla software.
My family has a model x and the gps is so slow in this car our model x is so faster i wonder if it’s just the screen getting old or they caged something
You sure the interior is "beige?" It looks grey to me, which is no longer offered, and which goes well with blue, I think. The only other light upholstery was tan, and this does not look tan. there was no "beige," to the best of my recollection.
Hi David, on the Tesla website it is referred to as tan. The grey is noticeably different. I played it safe and went with black.
Why is your model 3 in the shop?
Curious Airlines 😂😂😂
If you follow them on Instagram they were having problems with the panoramic roof or something
@@Blackout_1692 model 3 doesn't have a panoramic roof
Really great review
Also put some silicone on those squeeky things, it's wear and tear, doesnt hold up 4 ever on it's own ;)
the interior has changed a little, mostly the seats, the new ones are so much better and i like it i dont think the 2015 and before are very good
Someone help me understand what makes LED headlights superior to BiXenon adaptive headlights?...
"Finally, some real fucking car reviews."
How many miles can it do on highway? Thanks!
i get a feeling as if a cat is scratching a chalk board every time he says "tezla" and not Tesla
ag3 Coupe no but yes when that sunroof retracts
all I could see was a 911 in the background :D
Tessssssla.... tezla
The cup holders are in bad spot...idk about the newer model, but wireless charging for my phone, android car play would be nice, windshield washer fluid?....pros of this car is the accelartion, stylish design, big center screen, doesnt contribute to smog build up......i might speak common sense, but hey:)
I'm pretty sure the Model 3 does have a web browser like the S
1:30 2016*
Does it make sense to buy a used electric car? Would one have to replace the battery or something?
Tesla offers an 8 year warranty from the car build date. It's about 8 thousand dollar charge to replace if it fails out of warranty, not including labor I believe.
One Chevrolet Volt has 400,000 miles and no degradation.
From degradation?....not common and rare from my knowledge. There have been warranty battery replacements from other components within the battery ( sensors etc ). I'd imagine it's easier to drop and swap batteries for a quick turnaround and troubleshoot the pack later.
@@directorjustin 400,000 miles? The feck
So sound system any good?
