Very informative test for this older Tesla. I guess for roadtrip U could then apply the simple rule of 1 minute charging equals 3 minutes highway driving. So roughly 25% of the roadtrip will be spent charging unless you start with a full battery in the morning. Any feedback from other Tesla owners?
No feedback from other owners. I think the people who has the 70D are used to charging. The efficency and charging speed of never vehicles helps a lot.
Nice with simple rules , I did the similar when i started using Ev 10 years ago !. Now we got an 2016 TMS75D and a 2023 TMY LR. If I compare the two cars I can drive 3,5 minutes for each minute charging on the 75D and 6 minutes using the model Y. That is when charging up to 50-55 % Soc. So you are correct when stating the speed when doing road trips is a lot higher on the newer cars. Hopefully the new sodium batteries will have a much flatter charging curve up to around 90 %, that will improve charging time a lot when driving at places where there are long distances between chargers.
