I totally agree Colin. I got fed up of looking in my subs to c if another vid had come out :). Just hope they don`t go too main-stream. Sincerely JF ( UK )
Thanks Colin! That's nice to hear. Don't worry PatricK were pretty happy being a small team as we can stay nimble and focus on projects that were excited about. I'm not really sure what "going mainstream" means as the youtube audience is pretty pretty pretty big. I wonder how viewing figures on terrestrial TV compares with things like Netflix and UA-cam. I'm sure I could Google it and find out. I'm big boned AND lazy.
@ Sean Tufnell I'd take a Model 3 over a Ferrari quicker to 60 or not and Ferrari's are for a completely different market most people are not interested in.
Just think... 500k preorders on the Model 3, at $1000 per preorder, that's *$500M* to Tesla before the first one shipped... now that they are shipping, we'll soon be seeing a *lot* more Tesla on the roads... which is a good thing :)
Excellent production, graphics and sound track. And the guy in front of the camera was ok too. Happy to be a Patreon. I guess Scottish Tourism and Tesla are happy campers too.
Eamon Stack Thanks so much for the comment. We're always trying to improve the production on each show and all comments about stabilisation and grading are all taken on board and hopefully each new episode will be a small improvement on the previous. Thanks again for all the support and positivity.
I am a total Tesla fan I have a model 3 reservation. I get that the Model S 100D Is a brilliant car and is safe and environmentally amazing. At an eye watering £95,000 does take the shine off it a little as a sensible choice to get around. I am grateful for the people that can afford them to pay/pave the way for the day we don't have any petrol / diesel powered cars at all. I personally am buying a Model 3 and I must admit I will struggle to afford it but want to support Tesla and make sure they thrive and continue to change the automotive industry across the world. My wife needed a car while we wait the two years (realistically) for the model 3 to arrive in Australia, I want it to be the very last petrol car I buy. :} Thank you so much Fully charged for making your intelligent, funny, informative show! Cheers.
But isn't 'frunk' a 'front trunk', rather than 'frood' for 'front hood', so it would be 'froot' for 'front boot', not 'fronnet' for 'front bonnet', since that's already at the front... That is a confusing comment.
Excellent review. I bought a Model S 100D this summer. Mine has autopilot and cool wheels. Set me back 108K. Most fun car I have ever driven. First trip was a 2000 mile round trip.
This film is so spot on, I purchased a100D off the back of this video am not disappointed it really does allow driving with no range anxiety. Hope you get some commission Robert!!
It's nice too see that Fully Charged keeps on improving! Especially the feature presentation on the end was really nice eye candy... and all those converted untits, beautiful! ;-)
Whenever i search youtube on an electric vehicle or other sustainable product and I spot a Fully Charged video - thats the one I select. I know i'll enjoy watching, will receive informative content and I'm contributing to such a good series of video content.

Robert, I like your natural bloke next door chatting to me kind of approach to talking. This is the first Tesla review that has actually been quite natural and doesn't sound like you have watched Top gear and thought "I'll have a go at that!" Good stuff. I'll subscribe.
Robert, do you think you'd ever do a video about the 2nd hand market in Electric cars? I know you talked a lot about renting them a while ago. Is buying still not your recommendation? I would love an electric car but can't afford any brand new vehicle, nevermind an electric one. I'm limited to the second hand market.
soundslave That's actually a great idea. Just ask the seller if they'd be happy to let him take it for a test drive and give them some free advertising. Too few people bother to check the 2nd hand market because they equate battery longevity to that of their their smartphone. Could also point out some tips on how to check the battery has not been sat on the forecourt for too long at the wrong charge level. Discuss the pros and cons of private vs dealer sales.
What was the owner smoking when they gave you that price? Did it have a massive mileage? I'd struggle to get a 2 year old petrol hatchback for that price. Nevermind an EV.
Bought from a Nissan dealer in Sunderland, ex PCP or similar car I think. Nissan had told them to sell them on and offered 1K off for taking out 0% finance, kept wondering where the catch was bur all was cool. They even put it on a low loader and delivered it to a port in Scotland for me!
I know the last thing you want is for this to be a Tesla fan boy channel, but I was really looking forward to another Tesla review. Great show as always! Keeping it real, often funny and very informative.
Tesla needed to make a car with ridiculous performance. Gets them publicity and debunks the myth that EV's are too slow. Also most respond more to emotion than logic so they needed some flashy stuff to get folks interested in the brand. Great job Robert. Best show on youtube!
Specially appriciate, you're showing double information: imperial and metric system side by side. Also with very nice graphic. Excellent job, as always
Kudos to the entire Fully Charged team! Great quality, commentary, and production value! I wish I had obscene amounts of money to throw at your Patreon page and request a driving tour of Scotland as my Patreon reward. 😎
Comments from 14 hours ago, yet it only just showed up for me.... HMMMMMM. Can't wait to watch this, I stockpile FullyCharged videos and watch them back-to-back before bed :)
Why Zen? Because Patreon supporters who pledge $5 or more per month receive an early access email with a link to the video so they can watch and comment before it's made public.
I’ve enjoyed watching this episode. Quite witty and entertaining, made me smile multiple times. I started watching Robert for the focus on electric sustainable technology, but often find myself re-visiting his shows just for the fun optimistic vibe and light-hearted entertainment aspects. Robert is one of the few sources of positive news and makes me realize it’s not all doom and gloom, and we might actually have a bright future if the world can move to sustainable energy production and consumption. Thank you.
yes much more neater and pleasing reviewer, review and the video itself......this is the first vid of this anchor i have seen and it is reallllly gr8,,,,,,,,,,the team is doing gr8 work....keep it up
This is such a great review of the MS100D_ I've been watching this in loops and will do until I get mine !!! I keep cracking up guys // Funny and very interesting reviews - Keep up the good work - Great Job
brilliant - and beautifully filmed/edited. Please don't stop reviewing hybrids. Yes, they are are huge compromise, but millions of us live in houses without off-road parking and have no other choice at the moment. Don't ignore us! As soon as there are charging points on residential streets (every lamp post?) we'll go fully electric, but until then, we need to know what the greenest compromise is. Thanks - from one of your Patreon supporters.
Why we love u Lou- U nailed it on Battery size range bout 4-500 Miles the norm in just a few years. Wood also point out that not many are talking about the effect of weight reduction to power ratio! Make air batteries that way very little and man- Funny its already a land rocket
Well they need good PR on all fronts, otherwise people simply will not acknowledge them as "real" cars. This is why no one else has been successful previously, even Tesla themselves didn't get anywhere with their quite modestly performing/priced roadster.
MsSomeonenew the roadster was a lotus elise with electric motors, not really exciting. Most people don't like buying cars like that. Tesla will always struggle because people think they are not true cars because of the no engine
MsSomeonenew That's an odd usage of "didn't get anywhere with" that I wasn't previously aware of. I didn't know that meant "pre sold every car, made enough profit to pay for designing a clean sheet luxury performance car, and the factory to build it"
So glad you finally clinched the wet wipes deal, must make life a lot easier (cheaper) :) - great review, really made me chuckle and I love the car/the scenery/Robert in that order.
Great video! Also: I´m looking forward to your video about this solar panel-car-charging technology! On a side note: I appreciate you including metric measurements. Thanks guys, top job once again. *subscribed*
I honestly think I've spent less time charging than when I used to fill up with petrol. It takes less than 10 seconds to plug in and unplug my electric car on my drive, Vrs 5 min for calling at the petrol, I can fill my EV at least 15 times instead of filling with petrol! It's brilliant. Also since I've had my Tesla MX 75D with standard wheels I've averaged 352Wh/mile since new (done 3000 miles now!) ...And I recently did a 202 mile round trip and the computer said I still had 33miles left.
MercedesAMGsRULE big bonus is not having to stand in the cold or the heat. Plug in, walk away or just chill in the car for a bit. Had to fuel my moms Lexus in winter after I got my S, was terrible.
2:33 Were you indicating for that left turn? There seems to be a trend for indicator lights to be less visible than they were in the good ol' days. I hope that's not the case with Tesla cars.
The A9 is a fantastic road as long as you don't get a nasty speeding ticket in the post the week after... My compliments to your laid back review... Robert, you did look too comfortable.
Tesla recommendations are to plug in the car in the US or Canada into a 120 volt out and set the max charge limit to 50 %. This way the car battery is always an the optimal temperature never too warm or too cold. Winter or summer doesn't matter. A friend of mine left his wife's MS in their garage and when they got home it was dead as a door nail due to the first big Northeastern storm took down a lot of trees and power lines. He called me to see if I knew where he could get a generator. I loaned him my 5 KW gas generator as it allowed him to get the heating system up and running, it's a steam heating system and as part of his winterization routine he completely drains the boiler, then refills it when he and his wife return from Florida. His house is in the boonies as we call it and no power means no water from the well. His wife was real happy when the lights came on after I fired up the generator. 45 minutes later we had the heating system warming up. The temperature was 7 degrees above zero F. inside the house when we fired the boiler up. Two hours later the house was almost normal. His wife when we came out of the basement was hugging the radiator in the kitchen asking where's the heat. I asked if she felt any heat yet and stated all she heard was hissing air from the radiator and I replied you'll have heat in a couple of minutes then. She didn't move from the radiator for over an hour as the day before it was 96 degrees where they were on Florida. I set her MS to charge at 12 amps at 120 volts which will take a while but W I'll slowly heat up the battery, it took just over 3 hours before it actually started charging the battery. They now have an automatic start stop generator on the house and have given me a key to the house and written permission to be in the house if the cops show up. If as an example your out of the country for a year to work for another company you can always check the status of the car by your cellphone to make sure it still getting a charge and no one has unplugged it from the outlet. Where you plug it into the car it's locked and can't be unplugged unless your there or authorize it to be removed.
See that would be a somewhat bad idea. These cameras are focused only for sensing all the things around the car. It should stay focused on that. It'll also mean we'll have to add more storage separately and it's all a software based mess. It's much more efficient (I believe) to use a separate dash cam. While the idea is great, it should be the lower than the current issues that needs to be dealt with in priority.
Hello fully charged I have heard that world's largest coal company coal India (produces 80% of india's coal needs) is closing nearly 13 coal plants as solar power is cheaper some argue that its due to subsidies to solar companies is it true? can you discuss this in your future video.
Thx for the link. I think it stated they will shut 37 sites by March 2018. The combined sites account for around 9 percent of India’s coal production (from the 80% of india's coal it supplies now) which is still good news and some other interesting facts. I will look forward to the next Fully Charged news update on the take of how or if subsidies to solar companies account for the reduction.
N C yeah I have mistaken it for 13... some say even the entire news is fake. I really wish it's true that mines are closing and solar is cheaper without subsidies
Good video, as always. I was a bit surprised by your positive comments about the back seat. I find the back seat of my Model S to be quite cramped and the seat is uncomfortable. Mine was built in August 2015 with the so-called "original" seats, so possibly the more recent seats are more comfortable. But the space allocation has not changed. I have carried three adults in my back seat, and it is possible, but it is quite tight and somewhat difficult to fasten all the seat belts (surprisingly, given the generous width of the car). Full disclosure: Most of my occasional rear seat passengers do not complain about the seat comfort unless there are three of them, so it is possible I am fussier than most (and I am a tad over 6 feet tall). I'd be interested in your comments on the SAS (smart air suspension) if your own Model S does not have it. Very good videography, good clear audio, and very nice graphics!
The 2012 Model S 85's I believe charge at 117kW? That's 1.44C of real capacity. The 100D now, seems throttled to (a lot flat curve) of 115kW. That's 1.12C. With the same C rate, the 100C could charge at just under 150kW. Considering the 75 charges at 99kW (same cells as 100 pack), it could at least do 135kW. If Tesla allowed the 100 pack to be charged as fast as the 75 pack, you'd save some good time on charging.
Just bought one. What a delight to drive. Extremely safe car, possibly the safest vehicle (aside from a tank) that you can drive. Extraordinarily fast.
2 thumbs up on the tea joke. I know you weren't insinuating diva habits. This was a great review and a hi-five to your dedicated team. P.S. I'm still in love with Model X and still on target to get one.
Why are number plates such an afterthought? look how it spoils the airflow around the nose. I used to have a P 911S and the front 'plate' was a sticker on the front bonnet/boot, no aerodynamic effect at all.
Karl P you're right! If you want to know, mine gets to about 80% in less than 30 mins from flat on a supercharger, with the remaining 20% taking approx another 30 mins.
Vux911 just for reference, if the car has a 100kWh battery, and charges from a120kW charger, it could theoretically charge in less than 1 hour from 0. Reality is it charges fast for the first 80% then the remaining 20% tops off slower to protect the batteries.
your videos are such a pleasure to watch. thank you.
I totally agree Colin. I got fed up of looking in my subs to c if another vid had come out :).

Mark Taylor-Hankins well if you did the editing of this one, I say well done!!!!
He's come a long way since those early Carpool days!
Yep, thanks very much
Model S 100D is a beautiful car.

I bought one! 5½ years on the interior still feels fresh.
And now I can finally wear my Fully Charged cap without feeling like a fraud. 😎
Excellent production, graphics and sound track. And the guy in front of the camera was ok too. Happy to be a Patreon. I guess Scottish Tourism and Tesla are happy campers too.
Eamon Stack Scottish tourism has gone mental. have to elbow them out the way sometimes just to walk down the street

Deserved too. Scotland's class.
Thank you for adding the metric values, I know a lot of non-UK people watch your videos. Keep up the good work!

Surely in the UK a 'frunk' should be a 'froot'? ;-)
Think it would be Fronnet as us Brits refer to the hood as a bonnet, the boot would be at the rear.
Good point!
But isn't 'frunk' a 'front trunk', rather than 'frood' for 'front hood', so it would be 'froot' for 'front boot', not 'fronnet' for 'front bonnet', since that's already at the front... That is a confusing comment.
Frunk is perfect if you ask me Frood or Fronnet just sound wrong...
Yeh, I'm with you. It is a front boot so therefore 'froot'.
This is my favorite model so far. Sleek, futuristic style, safe, and so peaceful and quiet. I love nature, and I hate noise pollution. Beautiful.
This video was made 6 yrs ago & the car still looks timeless. Spectacular!
Excellent review. I bought a Model S 100D this summer. Mine has autopilot and cool wheels. Set me back 108K. Most fun car I have ever driven. First trip was a 2000 mile round trip.

It's nice too see that Fully Charged keeps on improving! Especially the feature presentation on the end was really nice eye candy... and all those converted untits, beautiful! ;-)
Your videos are the best. I watch them ahead of all others. Keep up the good work, and thanks so much
Whenever i search youtube on an electric vehicle or other sustainable product and I spot a Fully Charged video - thats the one I select. I know i'll enjoy watching, will receive informative content and I'm contributing to such a good series of video content.
I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up for a series on tv yet, great production interesting content
Your videos are just glorious. There are not enough superlatives to cover your content and production values. Long live "Fully Charged".
There is a strong rumour that Tesla has made a step change in battery management and efficiency, which will first manifest with Model 3 75kwh pack. Only a couple of weeks away!! Forget the GTE please.
I hope so. I'm hoping for a model 3 with a range comparable to the Model S 100D.
Simply because in Australia, range issues are a bit more problematic than they might be in other places, and the current specifications listed for model 3 range are uncomfortably low for the driving conditions we get around here...
A Model 3 with a 75kwh battery will be a great car. I am looking at a Hyundai Ioniq EV or Kia Soul EV or Nissan Leaf EV as my car next.
Eamon Stack forgotten
you mean Panasonic??
dunhillsupramk3 I suspect Prof Jeff Dahn and his team are key to this development.

I bought a 2 year old Leaf for £7.5k, no battery rental, excellent car for my needs.
What was the owner smoking when they gave you that price? Did it have a massive mileage?
I'd struggle to get a 2 year old petrol hatchback for that price. Nevermind an EV.

I'd never take that offer, way too good to be true. I looked up used Leafs and they're like 10k mostly, and older than 2 years by a long way.
You are just getting better and better. Keep up the good work.
I know the last thing you want is for this to be a Tesla fan boy channel, but I was really looking forward to another Tesla review. Great show as always! Keeping it real, often funny and very informative.

Love that you show metric units. Makes my life so much easier. Thanks!
What is incredible that they introduced a Model S over 5 years ago and its still a pleasutr to look at it's lines.
Specially appriciate, you're showing double information: imperial and metric system side by side. Also with very nice graphic. Excellent job, as always

A bit of "Jelly" wobble at 06:59 ... Post Production image stabilization - still noticeable! In camera is MUCH better... 🤓
Anamnesia Omg I thought it was just me! Crazy bad. Other shots too (car in the grass field) were very wobbly, like everything was moving.
What about 03:49. Thought someone put some forbidden substance in my coffee..

Lovely video.
The stabilisation artifacts in the field were a little distracting though.

Agreed

These videos are absolutely excellent. I'd absolutely say you're part of the reason I bit the bullet and ordered a Model S.
Great video, great channel, great car! Keep on going. You are doing fantastic work.
This is such a great review of the MS100D_ I've been watching this in loops and will do until I get mine !!! I keep cracking up guys // Funny and very interesting reviews - Keep up the good work - Great Job
Great episode ! I need this car !! :P !
We all need "this" car . . . to save ourselves, from ourselves (traffic, pollution, safety.)
it wont save you from traffic
You won't mind traffic. I love to drive my Tesla.
My Zero does save me from traffic, at 80Wh/mile
sure if it drives u home and you can play on yr mobile phone

i didnt blink for the whole video, my eyes started to bleed

Robert: I completely agree! The Performance models always get the press, but they should be focused on the longest range models :)
Robert, you are totally correct when you raised the issue about accelaration! Not necessary in real life driving!
First time I've heard "wee-wee" since I was a kid. I say, good show Mr. Llewellyn! :) Really, I do love your videos!

Another fantastic episode from Robert and the Fully Charged crew. I love my Tesla. As Robert quite rightly said - you can live in it. I do.
Robert, first class presentation as per usual.
The A9 is a fantastic road as long as you don't get a nasty speeding ticket in the post the week after...

Your not the only one who covets that car! My next car will be a Model III, but don't think I wouldn't love a Model S 100D! Cheers!
On Fully charged- Top shop, enjoy every episode, been subbed for years.
Chris Barrie preferring walnut veneer is hilarious and completely in character
Video quality is masterful. Great job.
Amazing video and production. 5 stars. Really enjoyed watching your video. Thanks for the work.
6:21 can all those cameras be used as dash cam to record possible accidents?
good question
Nope
Elon tweeted that he would look into it, so there's hope.
As of now you can use one of the front cameras to record
"Warning: Contains scenes of mild immaturity." xD Can't get enough of this.
Great episode! What's the name of the music used at the beginning (0:55)? Thanks
Trahlem It's called Changing Patterns by Jerome Alexander.
Tesla should always make 100d models.
I’d always want the larger range.
Hello fully charged I have heard that world's largest coal company coal India (produces 80% of india's coal needs) is closing nearly 13 coal plants as solar power is cheaper some argue that its due to subsidies to solar companies is it true? can you discuss this in your future video.
That very topic is on the list for next news update.
If u have a link to where u heard that I would like to check out the story 1st hand? Thx, But a "Fully Charged" spin on it would be fun to see too.
interestingengineering.com/the-biggest-coal-company-in-the-world-shutting-down-37-mines/
B roll was top notch on this one. Great looking car and video.
Had my MS 100D for 3 weeks now. Just an amazing car. Perfect, no but it's pretty close.
Looks like a nice car to drive around the people for the wedding.
Taxi fleets could use this car as an investment and as and asset on the books.
Thanks for converting the numbers you used. Much appreciated.
Great video,
I hired the P100D with Ludicrous in May for my birthday and it's great.
Very good videography, good clear audio, and very nice graphics!
you are brilliant... Stuart gets you tea... :-D lovely episode.. as always.
You are like top gear for tesla on youtube love your show
Nice camera work!
Great car. They loaned me a brand new one (Model S 100D) for a week. It had 12 miles on it when I got it. I will return it with a few more.
Awesome review, the next time you're up in the Highlands make sure to drive up on bealach na ba, it's a beautiful mountain pass.
Proves that we already live in the future. Production of this video is stunning!
excellent video, the production quality is great
The 2012 Model S 85's I believe charge at 117kW? That's 1.44C of real capacity.
The 100D now, seems throttled to (a lot flat curve) of 115kW. That's 1.12C.
With the same C rate, the 100C could charge at just under 150kW. Considering the 75 charges at 99kW (same cells as 100 pack), it could at least do 135kW.
If Tesla allowed the 100 pack to be charged as fast as the 75 pack, you'd save some good time on charging.
You should get Chris Barrie on, that would be awesome!
what's the name of that intro song?
Unexpected It's called Changing Patterns by Jerome Alexander.
finally, THE electric car by fullycharged, 16:25 ooh indeed we're in the same page :P
Just bought one. What a delight to drive. Extremely safe car, possibly the safest vehicle (aside from a tank) that you can drive. Extraordinarily fast.
I subscribed because you asked at the end of a video I actually enjoyed.
I hate when people ask for you to subscribe before the video starts
Saw at the end, your were opposite the Science Centre in Glasgow. Did you stay at Crowne Plaza.
Where is these episode about zappi?
Thanks
Perfekt Channel
It's coming soon :)
Were the charging times mentioned? I didn't see that or missed it.
Karl P you're right! If you want to know, mine gets to about 80% in less than 30 mins from flat on a supercharger, with the remaining 20% taking approx another 30 mins.
Nope. His answer was 150kW. (at 10:34) yes, I know, kW isn't a measure of time.
Karl P -- Yup I was waiting the entire video to hear the charging times but he never mentioned it. 150kw doesn't really mean anything to me
Vux911 just for reference, if the car has a 100kWh battery, and charges from a120kW charger, it could theoretically charge in less than 1 hour from 0. Reality is it charges fast for the first 80% then the remaining 20% tops off slower to protect the batteries.
Shot beautifully. What cameras please?
Wow!! What a car...Yes, Please!! For now the I Miev is all I can afford, and that's a great start!! Love this channel.
Second hand Leafs are dirt cheap these days. Just check the battery health before getting one.
Naomi Talking Money Yes, I'm loving my 3rd hand i-MiEV! All that money saved by driving electric is going towards the dream of a Model 3!
Aren't 1st hand LEAFs cheap too? Nissan has a 10K$ discount on the 2017, then 7.5K$ from the feds. Forgot last iMIEV price I saw.
Great video and lots of really good information!
