I had a brand new 2017 yz450f I got new. It was stolen in 2019. After going back and forth with the wife for four years I picked up a new 23 husqvarna tx300. Bike is incredible. Ill never go back to four stroke. The 450 could not be ridden on a trail at all. The tx is a great all around bike, the tbi is awesome!
It’s not worth the 2k increased price. All you get is an oversized tank and different gearing. If you are getting it to trail ride the sx will be just fine. The bike will crawl all day long if you want it to without stalling. My opinion- get the sx!
I can second this. So i bought my sx December 3rd and use it for single track/ gncc. The bike is perfect for the woods. Only thing i think is suspension is on the stiffer side for woods riding, but can easily be fixed. As for the motor it’s perfect for the woods.
@@elkwhisperer8065 nope I’m still running stock gearing which has been good in the woods, and I’ve been riding arenacross with the same gearing as well, you can lug the bike plenty with the gearing it has, and more than enough power to pull out of lugging.
Only about 3.5 hours on it, KTM builds some of the best bikes out there so I’m not worried about reliability one bit. Only thing to keep an eye on would be the battery for electric start since there is no kick starter.
Its a bike you can race amateur level MX upto expert level as well as entering cross country races GNCC just swap the fuel tanks & maybe a sprocket change a bike you could do every thing on
I'm obviously going to be the odd duck out here but I have to disagree slightly when it comes to the TBI portion of this video. I have a 23 Husqvarna TE300, still TPI, and it has plenty of low end torque you can ride the bike in fourth fifth gear even six gear really, lugging it and it doesn't die out... it has plenty of low end torque, gobs of it. The only thing that I don't really like about it and I'm not entirely sure of is when I'm riding in any gear, 1st-3rd especially, and I just barely crack open the throttle it sputters a lot it doesn't like to be down low doing slow technical stuff. Other than that TPI bikes are fantastic and no mixing gas which is also fantastic... the bike does it for ya. My two cents on the matter Ray
hi kyle just had a few questions about this bike since i’ve got one too, When cold starting with the cold start push thing do you rev it or just let it idle, and for the 2 power modes you use green or white
I usually let it idle for about a minute and then give it baby blips of the throttle. As far as the maps goes one seems to dull out the bike and make it easier to ride for someone who isn’t use to it. The other map is “all out” which is my favorite. Thanks for watching!
if you want a two stroke that rides like a 4 stroke you should just get a four stroke. carbureted two strokes are by far more fun and better when dialed in. also sound better
So essentially the Yamaha YZ250 cannot compete at all technology wise? Damn. I guess I need a KTM 2 stroke. Don’t they also last a really long time too?
@@kylecorbett yeah I don’t think it’s super common knowledge. I only learned a couple months ago. But all the bikes can do it. I’ve witnessed it on a ktm Honda kawi and Yamaha. I’ve got a 22 yz myself and it works.
Just picked up the 2025 and couldn’t be happier. Rode my buddies 24 for about five minutes and had my own less than a week later.
As an owner of the 23 300sx and a 2008 cr500AF, i can say the 300sx sounds better in stock form than my AF with a full JSV hand made system.
Finally a video worth my time.

I agree, TBI is amazing!
How much would it cost to make that three hundred as fast as a 450 s x f.
Hp and torque on dyno ?
Why is there a need for a choke when it has EFI? Computer should adjust for everything
Amazing new developments for ktm 2 strokes I wonder what's next
KTM is always an industry leader when it comes to advancements. They never cut corners. Very solid product from a great brand!
The 2024 KTM 300 XC TBI is gonna have spring forks 👍
Just picked one up myself! 🤤🤤
does it throw a rooster tail
@@loadthebowlyes i put a camera on the rear fender and let it rip. Its awesome!
What’s the difference between the sx and the xc? It’s 2k in price but I’m wondering if I can trail ride the xc or if it’s geared too high?

Sweet good to know, glad I went with the sx, did you guys regear?

@@YZFMX256it can lug tight trails no problem? I bought the 23 tx300. I like the sx alot

How many hours on it now? Curious about long-term reliability

@@kylecorbettwhat ratio do you run, i use 60:1
@@lazybp999660:1 as recommended by ktm in the owners manual.
The cold start push thing is just to help start the bike when it’s cold. Once it’s started it warms up quickly so push it back pretty quickly

I have the 2023 250XC review up on my channel as well. These TBI models are great bikes! 👍
The TBI makes such a difference in my opinion. I’m glad you are enjoying yours!

Why do you not like tpi bikes?
They suck compared to the TBI bikes

I was told they are going to bring the 150 back next year. The 150 is in development for 24.
We will see what happens, I’m happy with the 300 as opposed to them having a 150 in the line up
@@kylecorbett 300 has always been a staple for KTM. The 150 is a must for those 2 stroke guys that want to compete with 250f's.
I got a 2019 150sx and it’s so fun on the track and can do corners really well
Now how are you calling that fuel injected if it's got a choke.
Carbureted vehicles have a choke. Feel injected vehicles do not.
Lmao it’s a high idle not a choke 2023 300sx is fuel injected. If you don’t believe me look it up
Great and informative video but for the love of god stop calling the fucking pipe a header 😂😂
Every bike can turn the cold start switch off by doing that lol
By rotating the throttle forward?
