Having clogged airbrushes puts the 'pain' into 'painting' hahaha actually Tim Gore's tutorial uses a lot of chip brushes instead, which is kind of interesting. But I do love my airbrushes. Just gotta practice more and get better at cleaning them out before it's too late.
i feel like the nails are a little too white. it looks like theres nail polish on them. i think they should be a little bit pinker. just a small criticism! the hand looks amazing overall
Gabby Jackson I usually take a chip brush and then out a shade paler, the closest match and a rosey muscle undertone color(if you have olive color I'd use that) and splatter them in layers (starting with rose color) until I'm happy. But I'm pretty sure she covers it a little in a few videos ?
The hand itself was absolutely fantastic, however the nails threw me off a bt. Most nails have a fleshy pink undertone and are more yellow and slightly dirty from daily wear and tear and sometimes they're not as smooth. A good idea is to start with the ridges (albeit very slight) and then start with layering colors and add little details like maybe a little dirt or the cuticles aren't as manicured or they have hangnails. But all in all, it was absolutely amazing work and you've improved so much over the past few years. You're definitely a professional and clearly love your work (or at least have fun doing it) and it's amazing to watch what was just a lump of cheap looking silicon become a hyper realistic hand. I love your work and I hope you keep improving and learning.
Great tutorial and what an amazing illusion you created. You didn't seem to stop and cure each layer with a heat gun or oven, is that just something you didn't film or did you paint on top of wet paint? Also I have heard the rule that one must go from light to dark with silicone flesh tones and yet you added lighter highlights though out the process even going lighter than the original casting color- something I have heard repeatedly shouldn't be done. With any discipline you have to know what the rules are so you know when to break them and why to break them. Why did you break the rule? Obviously it worked beautifully. Thank you so much. I really enjoyed watching your process. :))
If you've already answered this question somewhere else I'm sorry but what what compressor do you use for your airbrushes? Can you use the same compressor for different brands of guns or do you need a different one for each?
Wow! Painting so thin that you can't even see what you're doing XD! Sounds like glazing in acrylic painting. Man watching this I realized that I know nothing about airbrushes XD How do you clean out silicone paint from an airbrush? Layers of color: light flesh blue green orange red purple Add Veins and repeat. WOW! It's crazy how many colors you put on. So the key is to do light washes then keep building up layers? It was so cool once you got to the more extreme red layer that you could really see the color developing! I noticed while painting the colors the skin started to develop "flakes" on the side of the hand? Was there just some pilled up silicone/ bumps from the hand casting there? Or what was that? Does adding a layer of clear silicone over the alcohol paints effect the shine or finish of the hand? Brilliant job!!! That looks so real! :D
Can I ask what are the main differences between using silicone pigments vs alcohol Base pigments ? And one other thing what do you use to thin your silicone down ? I've painted with alcohol pigments but not with silicone pigments yet If there are some good main bennefits I'll be sure to give a go , to be honest I've got silicone pigments so I'll more than likely do it anyway. Keep up the good work 🖒
Your so fucking good!!!!! I love your work soooo much. I'm so happy when you posted a video. I love watching you make them. Keep up the great work you are amazing😘😊💜💗!!!
This is a kinda old video but i wanted to suggest that with the first one that is missing fingers you could totally make it look like you did that on purpose
and a great guide for coloring realistic hands; even for different media! i can see myself using these methods for watercolor as i dont have the resources for your materials ^_^
Yeah practising in any media is useful :D I saw this really cool gif of a hyper realistic drawing and they built up skin colours in a really similar way, starting with layers of green, yellow, blue, purple, red, etc. it was fascinating to watch
Do you know the PSI required to spray thinned silicone paint? I want to pick up a Iwata kit and they have a couple different compressors. It looks like you were under 10 PSI.
I tried to click on your store wouldn't work? How much is a custom made hand without the blood at wrist etc but for use as a bail tech?? A ladies beautiful fingers with half the hand stopping before wrist or at wrist please ty??
Thank you for creating a really detailed video. It's the only channel that really explains the process step by step. Your work is impressive.

can you do a in depth video on colour matching skin with alcohol paints? I always have a super hard time with that
Gabby Jackson I usually take a chip brush and then out a shade paler, the closest match and a rosey muscle undertone color(if you have olive color I'd use that) and splatter them in layers (starting with rose color) until I'm happy. But I'm pretty sure she covers it a little in a few videos ?

Great video, you have a real talent. Finding sil-poxy seems hard in Aus though!
Airbrush tip for spatter. Shoot the paint at the pointy tip of a pencil. Move your brush to and from depending on amount wanted

Nice video.
Can you show different painting options. Preferably the sponge painting.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial. This might be helpful for me to make some realistic horror scenes in my future films.

The paint you used? Is it permanent? Waterproof?
you never seize to amaze me!💖👍👍👍 amazing artist, such a treat to watch💖😊
If you put a spot of washing up liquid into a dry brush before you start painting the silocone or latex paint won't destroy the brush
Hi!, In the second tutorial from Stan Winston's School, Are the silicone and the oils the only materials that we need to create that paint? Thanks!
Would this method work on latex and gelatine to make more realistic pieces or does this only work on silicone?
Loved this!💕💕
Can't believe a woman did this pretty good.
Ahhhh amazing!

I love your work. I would have to have one.
Hi, do you recall which type of skin illustrators were used with the silicone caulk? silicone based, alcohol based.. or which?
Skin Illustrator liquid paints are alcohol based

Yes please for the feet video
out of curiousity why didnt u use skin illustrator instead? if i was to do this could i use alcohol paints?
She explained it in the beginning:
Nothing permanently bonds to silicone except for silicone.
Where can I get this silicon for making prosthetics hand gloves
Can I paint with silicone whose density is different from that of the cast?
Where did u get the silicone and molding materials?
Can you demonstrate an ethnic silicone hand painting?
How did you add or mold the severed gore parts?
Could you use NOVOCs instead of Naptha?
Hm... Christmas tree topper? Interesting.
You say oil paints can be used, so does that mean i could use my bob ross oil paints seeing how they are oil based?
