Name idea for the A studio: "Sine Shrine"
Sine Studios sounds really clean dude!
I bought that stands on thomann. For that price you can't find anything better. Everyone from EU can order it from German or England store right on your doorstep.
The comparison between monitors on the desk and on a stand, blows my mind! 😱🤯🤯🤯
Jon your getting there your studio looks very impressive. A job well done 🕶🕶🎶😎
Highly recommend Sonarworks if you can’t afford good acoustic treatment. Yes, you will still have tons of reverb but the at least your frequency response will be relatively flat! :)
Hello Jon! Can you make a tutorial to treating your room with the basics room treatment? For exemple my room isn’t treated and I’d like to go treated with the basics to get a better sound. I have +6db at 60hz and -6db at 100hz, other frequencies are pretty flat. Thank you!
Hi Jon......I am not sure if it is a silly question.... but..do you have any air conditioning in your new studio to keep you cool and fresh? Also, to help with the heating up of the equipment ? I sweat way too easy and I would need cooling. My concern was whether there is any interference with the sound or recordings. I am sure sure if you can get super silent air conditioning.
Sine Studio. Keep it simple!
Thanks for the tips man and I hope ur doing well keep it up 💯
is the song in the intro and outro released? I want to listen to it. I really like it.
This is one good video, thanks.
Apart from the reflections, doesn't the monitor interfere with the stereo image when it's so far in front of the speakers?
What is the actual name of the sound absorber you use? I see Rockwool brand but there are different products. Could you link in the description? Or someone let me know.
Sonorock.
@@Jonsine thanks. Well done on the new studio build. You're an inspiration. 😊
@@Jonsine ua-cam.com/video/AnwQSF6LNrQ/v-deo.html I missed this episode. 🤦🏾♂️Very useful. The local studio equipment supplier in Trinidad recommended auralex after I asked him about rockwool. So i looked for your 2017 video where u say not to use it for sound absorbers. Then I found this video. ☝🏾☝🏾☝🏾 I'll send it to him.
@@Jonsine Is having an upright piano in your studio room very bad?
No one:
Jon Sine: acoustic guitars should never be in the room where you make music
Since you have 2 studios now, you should put a desktop computer in the B studio and put Reaper on it for client projects. They can bring their audio tracks and easily record overdubs and mix without having to use their own computer. Reaper is very inexpensive and comes with basic effects. You could supplement them with free effects and synth plugins. You can add a free audio editor like Audacity and you will be set.
If my speaker has to stay on the desk. Can i angle tgem so the tweeter shoots up to my ears
Yes you should but be careful with ceiling reflections
Is having an upright piano in your studio room very bad?
How do you feel about your 16’ MacBook Pro so long?
Fans are loud when it’s warm but everything else is perfect
Jon Sine thanks for answering man, really, I’m your fan. In fact I bought a MacBook just like yours (with less ROM) because you showed it running a lot of vsts. Thanks for your videos! This machine is a monster (considering it’s mobile).
Your speaker placement test is flowed, it does not show the advantage of having stands, it just shows that the speaker position makes difference.
A well designed dampened desk can still be good for speaker placement.
Also you don't really need a measurement mic unless you're making your room response 100% flat. Any small diaphragm condenser in omni mode will do, and even an LDC or a smartphone will show you the room resonances in lower frequencies if you're on a budget.
Find expert named Carl Tatz, he explains everything you need to know about stands and why are they important, besides good acoustic treatment. This guys is expert, there is too much to explain in comments. Just find that guy and from just 10 minutes you will be smarter than ever before regarding this subject.
@@NickChase Carl Tatz is a good acoustician, but speaker stands are not a rocket science either. Unfortunately the only thing you can learn from him in 10 minutes is that he has a system to sell you.
@@dragankondic4168 lol you are probably from Balkan region, too stubborn!
@@NickChase i'm from Balkan region too (Romania), but i loved your comment. Do not generalise, even 90% of that type of people you met have been stubborn at your arguments, there is still 10% of nice and cool people there. :D
All tips were good, but the guitar one damn! I immediately got rid of mine 😂
“Harbor Studios” or “The Habor”
i have 3 screen monitors on my desk and the speakers on stands behind and above the 3 monitors, the speakers are on a tilt tray and the tweets are pointing my ears, is there any issue with this set up ? cheers.
A good rule of thumb is to turn the speakers 30 degrees inwards no matter how far they are apart. Make sure your desk is in a even position compared to the monitors.
I DONT GET IT, WHY DO YOU DONT GET MILLIONS OF VIEW. YOUR CONTENT IS SO GOOD.
Studio Sine, the Sine Studio ;-)
Room eq wizard or sonarworks?
There is any problem if the guitar is in a case?
Probably not
How much do you charge for mastering?
50-60€
Jon Sine nice! Ill keep you in mind.
DJ Bass-ball remixer LOL! No thanks, i want a human to do it.
@@Jonsine Is having an upright piano in your studio room very bad?
Belle vue Studio
Important point about speakers stands: Dont' keep them empty, fill them in with sand, cat litter, etc... (clean cat litter, hey!)
Or rice if you're a prepper :-)
You´re Jon, so what about the "J-Studio"?
Why don't you use sonarworks it has correction eq if you have bip or peak it will correct it
I wonder, the measurements mic can't be really really flat. Isn't it?
I guess eq wizard can't know the measurements of your mic which means your measurements won't be 💯 correct. I know sonarworks measure there mics and the software can correct the mic frequency response. But it's not a measurement software like eq wizard. What do you think about the subject?
Really waiting for you response brother!
There is a calibration file making it almost flat
@@Jonsine really?!
Do you import that into eq wizard?
Sine Wave !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn. You're going to have to make music without a monitor now...
(Or a projector!) :P
Huge speakers
Actually, the best setup for most producers is a pair of nearfield monitors and heaphones. That way, you are listening to the music and not the room. Add a powered subwoofer if you want full bass extension (but you can hear full frequency range in headphones. And considering what most people listen to your music on, what Jon has is WAY overkill.
Name idea: Soundscape Arcade
Thats a really coll name!
Regarding that guitar: Same thing with drums. If the drummer isn’t gonna hit that floor tom, take it away. Because it will resonate a tone.
sinewave studios???
Hey Jon I tell you want to buy a brand new desk for your studio that will be so nice 😎..
passend zur location, würd ich das studio "the harbour" nennen..^^
Spacelab🚀
SINE WAVE SOUND
put some rockwool behind the screen
4:46 What the fuck ... are you for real? That is literally the same mic, everything the same just the speaker position? That is insane! Defninetly making sure to buys stand alongside monitors, once I finally get them. Hopefully still this year. the chances are looking good :D.
U should be the one giving it a name xD
First view, first like, first comment! 😎
I thought you'd call it 'Axens studios'🤔 . Maybe you could call it Sine Studios!
Don’t rotate your speakers sideways either! Most speakers have specific wave guides, and rotating your speakers completely screws up how they are meant to sound. Unless you have a rotatable tweeter

Man, your monitors are 4200 Euro a piece...I guess they are great though... Why not work with 2 subs and 7 inch monitors...?? Ive read for less budget its a solution in some way...I don, t know...
I personally have bad experience with subs. Hard to get the positioning right and a good sound.
@@Jonsine Thanks for your reaction, good luck w the studio completing!!! Cheers, Jeroen Simons, Independent, ex- Epica.
@@Jonsine Isn't it just 2/3 between the speakers? I may regret asking this question
actually many mixers seat inside the corner of the sweet spot ..... anyway all is relative and there is not precise science in acoustics... all is about average
Name it Studio Alpha

This saved me 11 minutes. Thank you!
"The grey studio"
Omg why a behringer mic smh... better get a dsp umik-1 which is calibrated with eq-curve & db calibrated also which is very important also, otherwise you need a db meter also plus it works on usb, so no need for a phantom powered mic! And DSP & REW work together as compagnies... the best value gor ur money.. behringer mic is just crap and a waste of money lol... btw with very narrow placement of monitors don’t angle then to your ears but to the back wall! But keep the triangle position for the sweet spot.. you really need to dive deeper in the matter jon.. no offence but i know what i’m talking about...
HEre's a name for the place: Sine ana/digi lab haha
I appreciate your advice.... however, the sound on this video is so incredibly horrible I'm having a hard time listening to it. It's hard to take your advice when the sound on the vid is so shitty. Sorry ;) Not trying to be a dick, but to be constructive.
So i dont have that money, or is this a showcase of your stuff..?
HACKSENS would be a good name
