@BezimiennyMarcel I'm happy because i love the theme and story of unchained. Plus now they're really great generic fiend support, since a lot of their effects target unchained or fiends. Like the recovery effect of the link dogs for example. For as many as there are, fiend is a shockingly under represented in modern yugioh. And most fiend archetypes do not like mixing At the very least they'd be a great back up play if your main line is stopped
You probably could've arranged this on lifetime usage, considering issues with recency bias, with the following categories: Uber: Great on its own OU: Good on its own UU: Needs other archetypes to function RU: Only used as an engine NU: Specific cards are occasional tech choices PU: Trash
Just as an heads up, Over Used is considered the "offical" meta of Smogon, while Ubers is the banlist meta. However, this definition has become very loose in recent years.
It's got a name too it's called AG (Anything Goes). There's literally only 1 rule in there and it is to not cause an infinite battle, so it's even free-er than regular Unlimited
Archetypes missing (as far as I'm aware): -Exodia/Forbidden One -Jinzo -Barrel Dragon/Metal Raiders (pseudo-archetype, but Zombie World is the same and was included in the list) -Egyptian Gods -A-to-Z (acknowledged in the video) -Guardians -Destiny Board -Sphinxes -Helios (yeah, it's technically one...) -Phantom Beasts (NOT Mecha Phantom Beasts) -Wicked Gods -Demise/Ruin -Chemical Beasts (Water Dragon and such) -BES -Arcana Force -Sacred Beasts -Yubel -Stardust (technically part of Junk and Synchrons, but not brought up during their turns) -Spiders (SHOCKINGLY) -Inca (technically separate from Earthbound Immortal) -Garbage -Super Defense Robo/Orbital 7 -TRAINS (I REQUEST PUNISHMENT BY DEATH!!!!) -Over Hundred Number/Barian (actually separate from "Numbers") -Umbral Horror -Malicevorous -Earthbound Servant (technically not out yet so whatever) -Super Quant -Crusadia (is it me or was it not in the video????) -Flundereeze (acknowledged in the video) -Spright (acknowledged in the video) That's all I can think of the top of my head. I may be wrong with a few of these, it was a very long video.
Up until a couple months ago in Master Duel, I saw Eldlich in almost every game from Bronze all the way to platinum. THey were EVERYWHERE and it was a fucking abysmal climb.
11:15 An idea to buff the Boxers: _Battlin' Boxer Ring_ Field Spell _You can activate this card (From your hand or GY) during your opponent’s turn if a "Battlin' Boxer" you control is targeted for an attack. "Battlin' Boxer" monsters you control are unaffected by the effects of monsters they battle, and can attack an additional time per turn. If a "Battlin' Boxer" you control battles, it gains ATK equal to it’s original DEF and DEF equal to it’s original ATK until the end of the battle phase. If a "Battlin' Boxer" you control destroys a monster by battle: You can add 1 card to your hand (From your field, deck or GY) that mentions "Battlin' Boxer" in it’s name or effects._
@@danielestrin784 It’s not that complicated an effect, and it seemed to me at a glance that the Boxers needed a good leg up as an archetype these days, SO let me explain the effects piece by piece: _Battlin' Boxer Ring_ ⚪️Field Spell (Because most archetype that don’t have one would LOVE a field spell with their name on/in it. And what better “Field” for a boxer than a boxing ring?) ⚪️You can activate this card (From your hand or GY) during your opponent’s turn if a "Battlin' Boxer" you control is targeted for an attack. (A lot of “Battlin' Boxer” effects pertain to _them_ being attacked, so this card would come in handy as a surprise advantage when they would otherwise have their face be turned into hamburger meat) ⚪️"Battlin' Boxer" monsters you control are unaffected by the effects of monsters they battle, and can attack an additional time per turn. (These are taken from the “Triangle Theory”, where you have Sluggers that are weak to Outboxers, Outboxers that struggle against Swarmers, and Swarmers that get swatted by Sluggers. The first sentence refers to Outboxers that bait out their opponents mistakes to strike them, while Swarmers, referred to in the second sentence, try to overwhelm their opponents with a flurry of strikes they can’t maneuver through) ⚪️If a "Battlin' Boxer" you control battles, it gains ATK equal to it’s original DEF and DEF equal to it’s original ATK until the end of the battle phase. (And going from the above, this references Sluggers, who’s plan of action is to rely on being stronger and tougher than their opponent, tanking their blows while setting up their own ruinous kill shots.) ⚪️If a "Battlin' Boxer" you control destroys a monster by battle: You can add 1 card to your hand (From your field, deck or GY) that mentions "Battlin' Boxer" in it’s name or effects. (And THIS is an in-character/theme consistency boost, rewarding you for winning battles/bouts against your opponent by giving you easier access to other “Battlin' Boxer" cards So NOW, you have a home field advantage for a deck that should be at home in the heat of battle. As for the 110 words, as long as it fits in the text box, it’s fine. If people have trouble reading card effects, that’s on them half the time.

9:16 technically speaking, “Archfiend” is something of a “Super-“Archetype… I.E, an archetype that bleeds into multiple smaller archetypes across several “generations” of the game…
"We're rating archetypes not decks" Then he immediately decides placement by looking up tournaments for deck results and by the value of individual cards splashed into other decks. If all these archetypes were forced to go head to head with no out of archetype support the results would be vastly different.
7:41 Idea to make “Arcana Force” cards more useful: _Arcana Force/Archfiend Casino_ Field Spell _During either players turn, You can activate this card from your hand or GY if a Coin is tossed or a Die is rolled. Unaffected by card effects while you control a face-up “Arcana force” or “Archfiend” monster. Each time a coin is tossed, or a Die is rolled, you can add 1 card to your hand (from your field, deck or GY) that mentions “Arcana” or “Archfiend” in it’s name or effects. Once per turn, you can either roll 1 six-sided die or toss 1 coin: Apply 1 of the following effects depending on the result:_ ⚪️Heads or 1-3: Add to your hand or set 1 Spell/Trap that mentions “Coin” in it’s name or effects. ⚪️Tails or 4-6: Add to your hand or set 1 Spell/Trap that mentions “Die” or “Dice” in it’s name or effects.
I like the idea, but it still is luck dependent And in both decks, the Opt effect can be just useless But I see you making a bunch of custom cards in this comment section xd
@@lordofcrows Well their idea is that Gamble cards are, by their nature, never all that potent in the meta (aside from a handful of single cards once in a blue moon), and “Arcana Force” and (Older) “Archfiend” cards both rely on such mechanics… SO I take the two, combine a support card for them, and make it a general purpose gamble support card that loops into itself in multiple ways. Of course the very nature of the card means that it IS still luck dependent, as you said, but at least you can get _something_ positive out of it no matter what you do, and there should be enough support on multiple fronts (support that this card can help search out on it’s own) you can slot in to help influence the results of any gambles you try. As for the custom cards I’m making, I’m thinking I take the worst archetypes listed here and make cards to help spruce them up. It’s more fun and challenging to improve something that lags behind rather then tear something down that’s arguably too strong for it’s own good. I don’t care for “Tall Poppy Syndrome” errata’s thank you very much!
Aromage can definitely be in under-used. In Duel Links, it’s a good ‘D.P.S.’ check for your deck. You you can’t kill it fast enough, you won’t make it in the top levels of the latter.
As a cubic player im happy to see that you atleast respect the archtype. In early masterduel format cubics were strong as hell due to the format tops lacking backrow. But now most top decks have decent backrow. So long as decks remain balanced in this regard cubics shall remain in rarely used. In monster heavy metas the deck eats good.
@@Ddiaboloer Funnily enough the eldlich match up was still decent due to the grind game cubics had. I remember grinding down eldlich players to the point where they usually ran out of life points for imperial order then Id shit out big chungus again. The only real threat deck was drytron due to the shit ton of negates.
9:22 Idea for an “Aroma” support card: _Aroma Attraction_ Quick-Play Spell _Increase your by LP by 500 for every card you control that mentions “Aroma” in it’s name or effects, then target 1 of them: Apply 1 of the following effects based on the target’s card type:_ Monster: Normal set or Special Summon 1 Insect, Plant or Rock monster from your hand or deck, who’s ATK or DEF is less than the target’s total ATK/DEF. Spell: Shuffle 1 monster from your hand or field into your deck: Gain LP equal to the shuffled monster’s total ATK/DEF. Trap: Set 1 normal Spell/Trap card from your hand or deck, that mentions “LP” in it’s effects.
Aroma already has good LP gain cards like Laurel, Angelica and Gardening, your suggestion is decent but I think it needs better Main+Extra deck monsters that do smth useful when you gain LP instead of changing battle position or bouncing a Spell/Trap. Give us a good Normal summon, a Link 1 that searches Aroma Garden/Gardening and a good boss monster, and I can die happily
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire Sure, that goes well with Bergamot but it also needs protection (e.g. can't be destroyed) and an omni-negate or other form of interaction. There's Sweet Marjoram+Dried Winds to pop cards, but the only negate is Aromaseraphy Rosemary and the timing is clunky. Have the omni-negate usable only while your LP is higher than your opponent&a summoning requirement (e.g. must be Special summoned from hand or GY by tributing an "Aroma" monster) so it's not generic, and it would be a great addiction to the archetype.
@@LhynkalTheFool I have a good boss monster to try, let me know what you think: _Aromaseraphy Titan Arum_ (DARK) Level 12 Plant/Zombie/Synchro/Effect 1+ “Aroma” Tuner monsters + 1+ “Aroma” non-tuner monsters _Must be Synchro Summoned. ATK/0 DEF/0 _THERE,_ I made a boss monster that should about work… (Potentially) big body? ✅ “Aroma” focused? With LP gain to go along with it?✅ Certain Immunities (against destruction and targeting in this case)?✅ Strong effects that are only accessible whilst you have more LP than your opponent?✅ I even tied some of the card’s characteristics to it’s name (in a funnily macabre way)… The Titan Arum is said to be one of the biggest and most potent smelling flowers in the world, attracting scores of pollinating insects… Because the “potent smelling” here is comparable to that of an actual rotting corpse (Hence the DARK attribute and Zombie secondary typing, and my mental image here is that a known Zombie Boss monster like Zombiestein or Berserk Dragon has indeed taken up gardening with the “Aroma” archetype in it’s artwork), hence the ability to swarm the field with Insects, which aside from this and my prior suggested card, don’t usually interact with this archetype (but it make sense to me… Flowers attract all kinds of insects, so a flower based archetype should also by apt at getting out insects if their “Smell”/LP is potent enough.)
11:00 Idea for a field spell to boost insects in general: _Swarm World_ Field Spell _All Insect monsters you control gain 300 ATK/DEF, and can be normal summoned/set with 1 less tribute. You can normal summon/set an additional Insect monster per turn. You can only activate the following effect of “Swarm World” once per turn, during either players turn. If you have 2 or more level 6 or lower Insect monsters in your hand with the same original name, You can reveal them all: Normal summon/set as many of those revealed cards as possible, then the summoned/set monsters gain the following effects while on the field:_ ⚪️Gains 300 ATK/DEF for every face-up monster you control with the same original name as this card. ⚪️Can attack additional times per turn for every face-up monster you control with the original name as this card. ⚪️If this card would be banished or sent to the GY, you can first add to your hand or shuffle into your deck 1 of your Insect monsters that are banished or in the GY.
7:44 Idea to make the face cards into a more coherent archetype: _Royal Jack’s Knight_ (LIGHT) Level 5 Warrior/Effect _This card’s original name is treated as “Jack’s Knight” while face-up on the field or in the GY. (Quick Effect) You can special summon this card (from your hand or GY) while you control a face-up “King’s Knight” and “Queen’s Knight”. If a monster you control would be targeted for an attack, you can change the target to be this card instead. “Knight” monsters you control deal piercing battle damage if they attack a defense position monster._ ATK/1900 DEF/1000 _Royal King’s Knight_ (LIGHT) Level 4 Warrior/Effect _This card’s original name is treated as “King’s Knight” while face-up on the field or in the GY. If a “Knight” monster you control battles an opponent’s monster: During damage calculation only, That monster gains ATK/DEF equal to the ATK/DEF of all other face-up “Knight” monsters you control. “Knight” monsters you control Negate the effects of any monsters they battle until the end phase of that turn (Including in the GY)._ ATK/1600 DEF/1400 _Royal Queen’s Knight_ (LIGHT) Level 4 Warrior/Effect _This card’s original name is treated as “Queen’s Knight” while face-up on the field or in the GY. (Quick Effect) You can special summon this card (from your hand or GY) while you control a face-up “King’s Knight” and “Jack’s Knight”. “Knight” monsters you control are unaffected by opponent’s card effects durning the Battle phase. “Knight” monsters you control can change the battle positions of monsters they battle, at the start of the damage step._ ATK/1400 DEF/1600 THERE, they’re now a battle focused suite of cards that can help keep each other on the field as long as long as at least 2 of their number remain on the field, they treat themselves as the monsters they originate from, AND they lend themselves to any “Knight” monsters in the game (Which there MANY of).
Ehhhhh, I can see the appeal in those sorts of cards but they don't really make the deck more "cohesive," they change it into something else entirely. The decks main design space is being a recursive engine for tribute summoning out cards like the Egyptian Gods, this doesn't do anything to make that any better of a win condition. It also doesn't fix the main weakness of the deck which is that you have to play so many copies of the knights, but you also don't want to draw any of the Knights, instead it adds more relatively mediocre cards that don't really do anything, albeit cards that are easier to summon. With that said, I had two ideas for the how to expand on the Knight deck Queen's Squire Link 1 LIGHT/Warrior/Effect 1 "Jack's Knight", "King's Knight", or "Queen's Knight" (This cards name is treated as Queen's Knight while on the field) If this card is link summoned, you cannot special summon from the extra deck for the rest of this turn, except LIGHT Warrior monsters. While you control this card, you can normal summon 1 "Jack's Knight", "King's Knight", or "Queen's Knight" in addition to your normal summon/set. You can only use this effect of "Queen's Squire" once per turn. A level 10 monster that is tribute summoned using this card as tribute is unaffected by your opponents cards and effects until your next turn. Arcana Divine Joker Link 3 LIGHT/Warrior/Effect 3 Warriors with different names, including a normal monster This card and monsters this card points too are unaffected by cards and effects that do not target. When a card or effect is activated that targets this face-up card on the field or a monster this card points to (Quick Effect): You can discard the same type of card (Monster, Spell, or Trap); negate the activation. If this card is destroyed by battle, you can special summon 3 LIGHT warriors with different names from your graveyard, except Arcana Divine Joker. You can only use each effect of "Arcana Divine Joker" once per turn. I think these cards are pushed af but they really help the deck. Drawing 1 or more Queen's or King's Knight is now no longer the turn ender that the deck usually suffers from. The tribute summon protection effect actually makes playing a card like Slifer the actual win condition for the deck instead of Utopia Double/Isolde like now. Also the deck now has a decent link monster to make while under the Light Warrior lock that fixes the biggest problems with Arcana Knight and Extra Joker
@@cturtle4573 I like those. And I admit, I kinda forgot about the God card angle they had when making these, and focused on making them support each other so long as at least 2 of them out out. I figured I had to balance out their (quick effect) non-OPT special summon by keeping it tricky enough to get 2 of them out in the first place. Plus I thought the battle effects that stack on each other would be a solid reason to use the three in themselves. Also, what are the ATK’s of those links?
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire Yeah that's fair, I think quick effect summoning is definitely an interesting angle to go for. In terms of attack, I'd have squire at 750 and Divine at 2800-3100
@@cturtle4573 Besides, the funny thing I just realized is that, once you get the board set up with the first 2-3 “Royal Knights”, they can actually play into the tribute/material angle pretty well, especially if you run at least 2 copies of each “Royal Knight” and fill the remaining 2 main monster zones. You could get out a Kings and Queens knight each, special summon jacks knights from your hand or GY en masse constantly, and use the jacks as tribute fodder for the god cards, then revive the knights by their own effects. Also, by buffing “Knights” in general, “Knights” now become a “Super-“Archetype in the same way Archfiends do… A bunch of individual stand-alone monsters, some scattered in other normal archetypes, and some that ARE entire archetypes in themselves, are now connected by an overarching keyword. And there are A LOT of “Knight” monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh to slot these in with.

Soo Butterspies huh. That "Archetype" has 3 cards I mean you literally cannot build a deck around them though the idea was interesting when they were released. Then there is gusto which didn't even make the list. Like in a world where you can only play pure archetypes Gusto is pretty decent. While outdated the deck has a plan and some versatility but everyone always forgets it exists. Makes it easy to outplay people since they just don't know what you are doing.
@@Brazio20 Well I would argue gulldo is the backbone of the main deck in pure gusto. (Though I really wish they would errata it so that it doesn't miss timing when used as synchro material) Even more representative are the extradeck monsters though. Diagusto emeral still being limited in the tcg or the internal bossmonsters in sphreez which straight up wins the game with any acceptable boardstate or Eguls/gulldos the supposed bossmonsters that are meant to act as floodgates.
@@TheNeonLynx I've considered that ship has sailed, since they could've done it when they added new Gusto supports. IMO currently the only real chance for Gusto getting the errata is if Konami release a Gusto structure deck.
@@Brazio20 Tbh I was surprised they got any support at all since they never got any attention. I mean I love my birb ladies but like they never got an episode in the anime as far as I know. Nobody played them even when they were new so I thought even Konami forgot they exist. Also Konami only erratas op cards to be weaker not weak cards to be better.
Ranking archetypes always feels weird because the context in which a deck was good or saw play heavily depends on the format. And that history always influences discussion on any archetype. Many archetypes are fine or mediocre on their own, but saw success when mixed with other archetypes. I think if you want to rank archetypes against each other, it would be more representative to evaluate them in terms of their consistency and payoffs. For example, Artifacts saw a lot of play as a part of HAT format, and individual cards were splashed into many decks as tech options. However, evaluated on their own, artifacts struggle from the Psy-frame problem of needing the opponent to interact with them. They have ways of forcing themselves to be destroyed, and can have devastating effects, but they can't always put up strong boards on their own. Given that, I'd put them in C/D/RU
1:02:23 I'm trying really hard to understand why Myutant is just shoved down to NU with no discussion, yeah a lot of their stuff has caveats but it also gives them access to pretty quick reliable negates/omni-negates, and they play around banish which you'd think is pretty good in a meta dominated by graveyard plays. UU's a stretch, but RU seems like it'd make sense. NU with no discussion puts it on tier with like...Gemini's, which feels a little out of pocket imo. It's not like I think I know better, I definitely don't, I'm just trying to understand the reasoning.
MonkeyFight TCG has a nearly 6 hour video discussing every archetype that goes into a lot more depth and even provides sample deck lists. I’d recommend his video for an in depth explanation as to why current Myutant is barely even a deck aside from the fact that you can put 40 cards in a stack.
the whole tier list doesn't make a whole lot of sense, it was about "pure" power level but all decks where judged by constructed decks, by being tech cards or whatever, don't give a fuck is just entertainment
@@Badbufon yeah I don’t take videos like this super seriously. It’s more just an excuse to listen to someone more knowledgeable than me talk about my favorite 2014 decks for 30 seconds.
@@UncalibratedAimbot Funny enough after looking this up, the MonkeyFight TCG thing is exactly what I'm talking about. He ranks Myutant at "5/10" on his tierlist, which he calls "Strong Casual", right on tier with Dark Magician. That sounds pretty correct given their strengths and weaknesses. By contrast, Mr. Logs dumping them down with Ally of Justice feels like a meme more than anything. Like sure it's a goofy tier list video that spends maybe a minute or two max on most archetypes, but even Dream Mirrors got a full sentence. I wouldn't blame anyone for watching this and thinking Myutant is just some Water Dragon tier garbage, when that's absolutely not even close to the case.
I am a YGo player and ex-poke smogon player. 11:38 Idea to improve Black Luster Soldier decks: _Chaos Super Soilder Program_ Continuous Trap (This card is always treated as a “Black Luster Solider” card.) _Unaffected by card effects while you control a face-up “Black Luster Soldier” monster. You can ritual summon 1 “Black Luster Soldier” ritual monster (From your hand, deck or GY) by tributing monsters from your hand or field who’s total ATK/DEF Equals or Exceeds the total ATK/DEF of the monsters you would ritual summon. I wanna see a revisit to this list seeing that a lot of archetypes got a ton of meta relevant support (like Blue Eyes, Aromages, Ice Barrier, and Resonator) and preexisting archetypes that were "good" are now considered bad in comparison to Fiend Link and Snake Eyes (like Fire Kings and Labyrinth)
This is long...well, time to take a look and get inspired to make new decks Edit: Amorphage Goliath could be a nice floodgate if instead of saying "neither player" said "your opponent", because then you could play even Spellcaster monsters and also add that field spell that won't allow to use any spell cards to those that don't control a Spellcaster monster. A way to make "Amorphage" very good (idk anything about them) is: making them easy to search and easy to special summon and then give good Extra Deck monsters to the archetype, the best move would be remove, as I said, the "neither player" part and make it so that only the opponent can't summon from the Extra Deck, to balance it, make it that the effect works as long as this monster is on the field obviously, as soon as it leaves of course the effect can't activate
I probably wouldve put despia in overused. Theyre one of the best, most versatile fusion engines in my opinion. But alone they dont have a lot of stuff that's threatening. They can't act they only react, which isnt a great place for a deck. To clarify, im separating despia and branded. Especially because branded can easily be ran without any despia monsters
No floo, no spright, no blackwing, no live twin, no divine beasts, no sacred beasts, no code talker, no bamboo sword, no trap hole...and many more. Edit: I must've zoned out at blackwing😅
Buster blader is like the smeargle of yugioh. Bad 90% of the time, but also capable of completely dunking on certain Ubers and OUs. If dragon rulers were unbanned, busterblader would be a lot more common
Smeargal has been a staple lead of doubles, the official format, only gets more banned over time (yay moody), and is also usually decent in singles as well. The only time Smeargal isn't good is when you don't need hazards or dark void. Not really used in tournament play since dark void nerf, but always used on the ladder.
0:51 Why do you mention Ishizu here but you're showing Agido? I literally just happened to randomly pause the vid here and look up Ishizu realizing there was zero association to the monster that appears at 0:51
I would personally put magikeys at underused, I think they have potential and the problem is they are just too fragile as a pure deck, but when combined with an engine that can bulk some negates from your opponent they can get strong. I would really love to see a video about this archetype
It's funny how DL tossed away Aromage because they ran rampant in Duel Links for a while and the Battlin Boxer crew was just put into there a few months ago.
It is good to know there are only some archetypes to learn from scratch to be able to play TCG based on Duel Links experience. Watching plenty of the vids around showed me enough of what to expect for a good number of them before they make it to the format I am familiar with. There are a few I would love to see find their way to a BOX, like Vaylantz and Marincess and Adamancipator (I
The best part of this is when someone says the tiers don’t make sense and DuelLogs responds with “they are from Pokémon” and we walk away like that answers anything 😂

I think this might be a good way to explain the poke ygo tier list: Uber: meta decks OU: good decks, tier 2 at worst UU: rogue RU: good to try at locals NU: good to try at lunch at school with people who have no idea how to play
Also as someone who plays the fuck out of archetype fortune ladies being that it's my favorite deck, we're used to it. We know the deck is dogshit, but god is it fun when it pops off and you draw +4 with water, and use FL Past to fuck with your levels to either trigger effects and/or go into various synchro/xyz.
If you put Rikka in Ubers I'd say you put Aroma a tier below, maybe 2. They're just excellent support for Rikkas and even if it's only ever like 3 cards that they consider using(of the cards released at the time, the Rikalilliths changed that) they do add quite a lot of consistency and recursion to Rikka decks especially Aromaseraphy Jasmine. As a deck type they're kinda weak, RU at best, but as support for plants that can side in lp gain or like tributing they're great.
Magistus need support so much, its a cool as shit archetype that got literally 1 extra card after the initial wave and it was just the boss monster since the archetype was unfinished. there's not even 10 maindeck cards for the archetype, only 2 of the 4 spells are particularly good, the boss monster itself is insanely fragile and the deck has no recursion, both its combos and endboards die to 1 imperm. yet labrynth(and I like labrynth for the record) has gotten like a trillion cards of support and sky striker will keep getting cards forever. it feels so bad man
If we look at play statistics and how pokemon get tiered in Smogon then Blue Eyes has to be Overused, even if it's bad, as it will show up every locals pretty much everywhere

And a Trap… _Ally of Justice Remote Armory_ Continuous Trap _Each time you normal or special summon an “Ally of Justice” monster, you can equip 1 Equip Spell from your hand, deck or GY to it. If an “Ally of Justice” monster equipped with an Equip Spell would be destroyed (by battle or card effect), You can destroy 1 card equipped to it instead. Once per turn, during the draw phase, you can add 1 Equip spell or “Ally of Justice” card to your hand (From your field, deck or GY)._
It's always make me laugh to see viable archetypes as actual Crystal Beast and really good rogues like D/D/D, Patroll and Dragonmaid in the same tier as Destiny Heros only plays because of one card in others decks in small engine.
As someone who has played VW and Inzektor, I promise you they do not belong on the same tier, VW is at least UU, and it topped at ycs dortmund recently
as an infernoid player i feel it is fair to place it in rarely used but its still nice when opponents dont read or dont realize that infernoids are one of the few archetypes that doesnt have a hard once per turn on their monster cards

11:15 An idea to buff the Boxers:
_Battlin' Boxer Ring_
Field Spell
_You can activate this card (From your hand or GY) during your opponent’s turn if a "Battlin' Boxer" you control is targeted for an attack. If a "Battlin' Boxer" you control destroys a monster by battle: You can add 1 card to your hand (From your field, deck or GY) that mentions "Battlin' Boxer" in it’s name or effects._
no way am i going to stand for a card with 110 words chief
@@danielestrin784
It’s not that complicated an effect, and it seemed to me at a glance that the Boxers needed a good leg up as an archetype these days, SO let me explain the effects piece by piece:
_Battlin' Boxer Ring_
⚪️Field Spell (Because most archetype that don’t have one would LOVE a field spell with their name on/in it. And what better “Field” for a boxer than a boxing ring?)
⚪️You can activate this card (From your hand or GY) during your opponent’s turn if a "Battlin' Boxer" you control is targeted for an attack. (A lot of “Battlin' Boxer” effects pertain to _them_ being attacked, so this card would come in handy as a surprise advantage when they would otherwise have their face be turned into hamburger meat)
⚪️"Battlin' Boxer" monsters you control are unaffected by the effects of monsters they battle, and can attack an additional time per turn. (These are taken from the “Triangle Theory”, where you have Sluggers that are weak to Outboxers, Outboxers that struggle against Swarmers, and Swarmers that get swatted by Sluggers. The first sentence refers to Outboxers that bait out their opponents mistakes to strike them, while Swarmers, referred to in the second sentence, try to overwhelm their opponents with a flurry of strikes they can’t maneuver through)
⚪️If a "Battlin' Boxer" you control battles, it gains ATK equal to it’s original DEF and DEF equal to it’s original ATK until the end of the battle phase. (And going from the above, this references Sluggers, who’s plan of action is to rely on being stronger and tougher than their opponent, tanking their blows while setting up their own ruinous kill shots.)
⚪️If a "Battlin' Boxer" you control destroys a monster by battle: You can add 1 card to your hand (From your field, deck or GY) that mentions "Battlin' Boxer" in it’s name or effects. (And THIS is an in-character/theme consistency boost, rewarding you for winning battles/bouts against your opponent by giving you easier access to other “Battlin' Boxer" cards
So NOW, you have a home field advantage for a deck that should be at home in the heat of battle.

"We're rating archetypes not decks"
Then he immediately decides placement by looking up tournaments for deck results and by the value of individual cards splashed into other decks. If all these archetypes were forced to go head to head with no out of archetype support the results would be vastly different.

7:41 Idea to make “Arcana Force” cards more useful:
_Arcana Force/Archfiend Casino_
Field Spell
_During either players turn, You can activate this card from your hand or GY if a Coin is tossed or a Die is rolled. Once per turn, you can either roll 1 six-sided die or toss 1 coin: Apply 1 of the following effects depending on the result:_
⚪️Heads or 1-3: Add to your hand or set 1 Spell/Trap that mentions “Coin” in it’s name or effects.
⚪️Tails or 4-6: Add to your hand or set 1 Spell/Trap that mentions “Die” or “Dice” in it’s name or effects.
I like the idea, but it still is luck dependent
And in both decks, the Opt effect can be just useless
But I see you making a bunch of custom cards in this comment section xd
@@lordofcrows
Well their idea is that Gamble cards are, by their nature, never all that potent in the meta (aside from a handful of single cards once in a blue moon), and “Arcana Force” and (Older) “Archfiend” cards both rely on such mechanics… SO I take the two, combine a support card for them, and make it a general purpose gamble support card that loops into itself in multiple ways.

9:22 Idea for an “Aroma” support card:
_Aroma Attraction_
Quick-Play Spell
_Increase your by LP by 500 for every card you control that mentions “Aroma” in it’s name or effects, then target 1 of them: Apply 1 of the following effects based on the target’s card type:_
Monster: Normal set or Special Summon 1 Insect, Plant or Rock monster from your hand or deck, who’s ATK or DEF is less than the target’s total ATK/DEF.
@@LhynkalTheFool Maybe a boss monster who’s ATK and DEF each equals your LP (and thus encourages more LP gain focused decks) as a base?

_THERE,_ I made a boss monster that should about work… (Potentially) big body? ✅ “Aroma” focused? With LP gain to go along with it?✅ Certain Immunities (against destruction and targeting in this case)?✅ Strong effects that are only accessible whilst you have more LP than your opponent?✅
I even tied some of the card’s characteristics to it’s name (in a funnily macabre way)… The Titan Arum is said to be one of the biggest and most potent smelling flowers in the world, attracting scores of pollinating insects… Because the “potent smelling” here is comparable to that of an actual rotting corpse (Hence the DARK attribute and Zombie secondary typing, and my mental image here is that a known Zombie Boss monster like Zombiestein or Berserk Dragon has indeed taken up gardening with the “Aroma” archetype in it’s artwork), hence the ability to swarm the field with Insects, which aside from this and my prior suggested card, don’t usually interact with this archetype (but it make sense to me… Flowers attract all kinds of insects, so a flower based archetype should also by apt at getting out insects if their “Smell”/LP is potent enough.)

11:00 Idea for a field spell to boost insects in general:

If you have 2 or more level 6 or lower Insect monsters in your hand with the same original name, You can reveal them all: Normal summon/set as many of those revealed cards as possible, then the summoned/set monsters gain the following effects while on the field:_
⚪️Gains 300 ATK/DEF for every face-up monster you control with the same original name as this card.
⚪️Can attack additional times per turn for every face-up monster you control with the original name as this card.

ATK/1400 DEF/1600
THERE, they’re now a battle focused suite of cards that can help keep each other on the field as long as long as at least 2 of their number remain on the field, they treat themselves as the monsters they originate from, AND they lend themselves to any “Knight” monsters in the game (Which there MANY of).
With that said, I had two ideas for the how to expand on the Knight deck
Queen's Squire
Link 1
LIGHT/Warrior/Effect
1 "Jack's Knight", "King's Knight", or "Queen's Knight"
(This cards name is treated as Queen's Knight while on the field)
If this card is link summoned, you cannot special summon from the extra deck for the rest of this turn, except LIGHT Warrior monsters.
Arcana Divine Joker
Link 3
LIGHT/Warrior/Effect
3 Warriors with different names, including a normal monster
This card and monsters this card points too are unaffected by cards and effects that do not target.
@@cturtle4573
I like those.
In terms of attack, I'd have squire at 750 and Divine at 2800-3100
@@cturtle4573
Besides, the funny thing I just realized is that, once you get the board set up with the first 2-3 “Royal Knights”, they can actually play into the tribute/material angle pretty well, especially if you run at least 2 copies of each “Royal Knight” and fill the remaining 2 main monster zones.

While outdated the deck has a plan and some versatility but everyone always forgets it exists. Makes it easy to outplay people since they just don't know what you are doing.
Agree on Gusto part. I LMAO'ed very hard when I saw Tailwind of Gusto as the representative instead of other cards like Pilica or Griffin
7:04 Can't wait to see Ancient Ge-
Warriors?
:(

So are we ranking the archetypes? Just their engines? Or single most used tech card?
Based on modern support, proceeds to put rulers in ubers omegalol
I am a YGo player and ex-poke smogon player. And this is my list for my played archetypes:
Abyss actor UU (top viability, the techs are crazy)
Trains RUBL ( due to OTK capacity)
Chronomaly NUBL (can OTK, but prone to negation)
Amazement NU (were scrwed if untargetable. Also 2600 boss monster is not enough)
Gradius NU (low tier, but can bring sheisty play)
Qliphort NU (outdated but still quite solid pick)
Gravekeeper NU (niche but deadly)
i think most of the issue came from a disregard of th PU rank, ice barriers and other joke archetypes needed to be in pu to make never used feel more respectable and help filter some stuff better
Ice Barrier? You know they got a Structure Deck and are getting some upcoming support as well, right?
Every fire deck jumped up several tiers in a matter of months. Now all of them are Uber or OU
11:38 Idea to improve Black Luster Soldier decks:
_Chaos Super Soilder Program_
Continuous Trap
(This card is always treated as a “Black Luster Solider” card.)
_Unaffected by card effects while you control a face-up “Black Luster Soldier” monster. You can ritual summon 1 “Black Luster Soldier” ritual monster (From your hand, deck or GY) by tributing monsters from your hand or field who’s total ATK/DEF Equals or Exceeds the total ATK/DEF of the monsters you would ritual summon. You can banish 1 card from your hand, deck or GY: Apply 1 of the effects (Each effect of “Chaos Super Solider Program” can be applied once per turn):_
⚪️Send 1 LIGHT and DARK monster each from your hand, field or deck to the GY, then add 1 card to your hand that mentions “Black Luster Soldier” or “Chaos” card in it’s name or effects.
⚪️Fusion summon 1 fusion monster from your extra deck, using monsters from your hand or field as materials, including at least 1 “Black Luster Soldier” monster you control.
waiting 1:36:18 just to get venoms called trash breaks my heart😭
I wanna see a revisit to this list seeing that a lot of archetypes got a ton of meta relevant support (like Blue Eyes, Aromages, Ice Barrier, and Resonator) and preexisting archetypes that were "good" are now considered bad in comparison to Fiend Link and Snake Eyes (like Fire Kings and Labyrinth)
Did they not do live twin?
This is long...well, time to take a look and get inspired to make new decks
Edit: Amorphage Goliath could be a nice floodgate if instead of saying "neither player" said "your opponent", because then you could play even Spellcaster monsters and also add that field spell that won't allow to use any spell cards to those that don't control a Spellcaster monster.
A way to make "Amorphage" very good (idk anything about them) is: making them easy to search and easy to special summon and then give good Extra Deck monsters to the archetype, the best move would be remove, as I said, the "neither player" part and make it so that only the opponent can't summon from the Extra Deck, to balance it, make it that the effect works as long as this monster is on the field obviously, as soon as it leaves of course the effect can't activate
love how you put in the effort to edit the >3 hours stream video ❤
I probably wouldve put despia in overused. Theyre one of the best, most versatile fusion engines in my opinion. But alone they dont have a lot of stuff that's threatening. They can't act they only react, which isnt a great place for a deck.
To clarify, im separating despia and branded. Especially because branded can easily be ran without any despia monsters
Is it me or was there no Live Twins and Superquants
We needed a PU tier to gently place all the AoJs and Chrysallises of the world into. They are leagues below things like nephthys & aromage
No floo, no spright, no blackwing, no live twin, no divine beasts, no sacred beasts, no code talker, no bamboo sword, no trap hole...and many more.
Edit: I must've zoned out at blackwing😅
Blackwing is absolutely on the list.
Buster blader is like the smeargle of yugioh. Bad 90% of the time, but also capable of completely dunking on certain Ubers and OUs. If dragon rulers were unbanned, busterblader would be a lot more common
dragon rulers are unplayable, so nothing would change
Smeargal has been a staple lead of doubles, the official format, only gets more banned over time (yay moody), and is also usually decent in singles as well. The only time Smeargal isn't good is when you don't need hazards or dark void. Not really used in tournament play since dark void nerf, but always used on the ladder.
You have a knack for uploading these while I’m in the middle of work, you know that?
Fossil and Vernusylph by themselves kinda suck, but together they're an OTK powerhouse that never uses normal summons.
Watching him put unchained directly into rarely used was so painful lmao
0:51 Why do you mention Ishizu here but you're showing Agido? I literally just happened to randomly pause the vid here and look up Ishizu realizing there was zero association to the monster that appears at 0:51
Cries in Black Luster Soldier
That laugh is channelling your inner Maximilian Pegasus.
"We haven't gotten to floo yet" while going through the letter "M"
I would personally put magikeys at underused, I think they have potential and the problem is they are just too fragile as a pure deck, but when combined with an engine that can bulk some negates from your opponent they can get strong. I would really love to see a video about this archetype
vid on release was already out of date bc of unchained lul
It's funny how DL tossed away Aromage because they ran rampant in Duel Links for a while and the Battlin Boxer crew was just put into there a few months ago.
Based Logs. Had to say things, true or not, to piss people off. Thus I agree. Im the Ojama guy
I never realized how goofy your laugh was.
I like how he uses the Pokémon tiers in the tier list for every yugioh deck
I only buit pure deck archetype, i hate merge them together dont know why ?
is there any six samurai in there?
I like that the rules changed 25 minutes in
Man, I can't believe the Duel Logs doesn't respect Rikka.
The deck won EU.
TWICE
IN A FUCKING ROW.
Yet nobody respects the deck and they all surprised pikachu face when they lose to it.
I think this might be a good way to explain the poke ygo tier list:
Uber: meta decks
OU: good decks, tier 2 at worst
UU: rogue
RU: good to try at locals
NU: good to try at lunch at school with people who have no idea how to play
As a Solfachord user, I am wishing for more supports to boost the archetype further to be at least Rarely Used. 😭
Im have lot of disagree with this list... Gravekeeper actually rarely used, also Gladiator beast are still used on past
Where is the link to the tierlist maker for this? Might be fun to do with friends since a few choices you made doesnt make a lot of sense.
Burning Abyss in Rarely Used is CRIMINAL
Putting Unchained into rarely used 😂
Magistus need support so much, its a cool as shit archetype that got literally 1 extra card after the initial wave and it was just the boss monster since the archetype was unfinished. there's not even 10 maindeck cards for the archetype, only 2 of the 4 spells are particularly good, the boss monster itself is insanely fragile and the deck has no recursion, both its combos and endboards die to 1 imperm. yet labrynth(and I like labrynth for the record) has gotten like a trillion cards of support and sky striker will keep getting cards forever. it feels so bad man
If we look at play statistics and how pokemon get tiered in Smogon then Blue Eyes has to be Overused, even if it's bad, as it will show up every locals pretty much everywhere

*talking about Chaos*
Viewer:"1 Synchro it's not worth tho"
DL:"It's not 1 Synchro, they have 2 synchros"
The Chaos Archetype with 5 Synchros: ...💀
4:17 Some ideas for some Ally of Justice support cards:
A monster…
_Ally of Justice Rapid Response_ (DARK)
Level 4
Machine/Tuner/Effect
_(Quick Effect) If your opponent normal or special summons a LIGHT monster, you can normal or special summon this card from your hand. Cannot be destroyed (by battle or card effects) by LIGHT monsters. If this card attacks a Defense Position LIGHT monster, inflict piercing battle damage. Once per turn (Quick Effect), you can tribute 1 “Ally of Justice” monster from your hand: Destroy 1 monster on the field who’s ATK or DEF is less than the Tribute’s total ATK/DEF._
ATK/1950 DEF/1950
A Field Spell…
_Ally of Justice Firebase_
Field Spell
_Unaffected by card effects while you control a face-up “Ally of Justice” monster. You can conduct 1 additional normal summon/set of “Ally of Justice” monsters per turn, and can normal summon/set “Ally of Justice” monsters without Tributing. If your opponent activates the effects of or summons a LIGHT monster, you can 1 of the following effects (Each effect can only be applied once per turn):_
⚪️Target 1 “Ally of Justice” monster you control: it gains ATK/DEF equal to the total ATK/DEF of the summoned/activated monster.
⚪️Synchro summon 1 Synchro monster from your extra deck, using monsters from your hand or field as materials, including at least 1 “Ally of Justice” monster you control.
⚪️Tribute 1 “Ally of Justice” card from your hand or field: Negate the summon/activation of that monster.
And a Trap…
_Ally of Justice Remote Armory_
Continuous Trap
_Each time you normal or special summon an “Ally of Justice” monster, you can equip 1 Equip Spell from your hand, deck or GY to it. If an “Ally of Justice” monster equipped with an Equip Spell would be destroyed (by battle or card effect), You can destroy 1 card equipped to it instead. Once per turn, during the draw phase, you can add 1 Equip spell or “Ally of Justice” card to your hand (From your field, deck or GY)._
time to build AOJ mikanko lmfao

See, it’s shooting up in usage already!
Also, what was that other archetype you mentioned?
Man it hurts knowing ancient gear is Garbo but I love the otk w giant
It's always make me laugh to see viable archetypes as actual Crystal Beast and really good rogues like D/D/D, Patroll and Dragonmaid in the same tier as Destiny Heros only plays because of one card in others decks in small engine.
When does he talk about ritual beast? I know its way past its prime but i love this archtype and it was always too complex for me
Your laugh is hilarious lmao. Excellent video

Are there three different 'photon' archetypes? Why do three photons show up in a row with different tiers?
"We'll put Dark Magician in 'Rarely Used' so we don't upset people"
Me, a dedicated Dark Magician user: RRRRRRRRRRRRGH fiiiiiiiiiiine. :P
The alien flash meme got me 😂😂😂 3:03
Isn't I.P masquerena and S.P little night technically part of the S-force archetype and they are generic and broken
I love Vennominaga. Vennominaga herself is really strong, but man is her summoning condition absurd.
As someone who has played VW and Inzektor, I promise you they do not belong on the same tier, VW is at least UU, and it topped at ycs dortmund recently
Ally of Justice needs it's own tier
Non Recyclable Trash Tier
as an infernoid player i feel it is fair to place it in rarely used but its still nice when opponents dont read or dont realize that infernoids are one of the few archetypes that doesnt have a hard once per turn on their monster cards
infernoid was meta back in the day, rogue until not so long ago and their new support is quite nice. i think they deserved better
@@Badbufon new support?
@@azurephantom100 new cards have been announced a few days ago in the OCG, they seem pretty custom
This should've been an entire archetype deck, not just one or 2 cards

As a duelist who loves the cardian archetype I can’t beleive it wasn’t put on here, almost like people forget it exists!

This is where the category PU comes in handy. It's an onomonopea that categorizes literally all total garbage.
I cant find cyber angels
I am so accustomed with the uber/ou/uu format from pokemon that it took me a while to realize its yugioh 😅
machinex aint the boss monster for d/d/d, and how is resonator rarely used? i can see u have never been calamity locked by them
He missed live twins
Ice Barrier, Genex and Ogdoadic are on their way to get some pretty good support which is ironic considering they are all "never used"
Oh catastor, my duel links bae for a synchro with rod and a prayer that I will not fall pray to lunalight and harpy otk.
Also just gonna put this out there, SeeReax actually built a pretty broken Archfiend deck that really would've been competitive back then if some of the tech cards he used were available then.
