Loved this. My dad is taking care of my mom with alzheimers. He is 80 trying to learn to cook for her. I greatly appreciate all these recipes and hope to be able to go buy an Instant Pot soon for them.

@@awendaawenda8011 I got them one 2 days ago! Plus I got all the stuff to make stew. Then I spent the time showing them both but mostly dad how to make stew. I can not tell you how thrilled he was and how excited momma was that in 30 minutes they have AMAZING ...TENDER....Stew. Dad was in tears because we both watched momma eat 2 bowls. She has a disease where here esophagus don't push food down very good and gets stuck so she starves at times. Not now. Now they both will have great meals. And I will make it a point to go over 1 time a week and teach them a new recipe. Plus write down ones from you. THANK YOU FOR MOTIVATING ME

@@kimbaptempura4073 I cry too over it all so I appreciate you joining me in a friendly teary eyed time. Every week I teach dad a new recipe and he is learning to love that little pressure cooker. I even made a little aluminum bowl to set on the trivet and put about inch water in pot. Then I cooked them the best soft sweet potatoes ever.

A tip to make white rice fluffy add about 1/2-1 teaspoon white vinegar(or apple cider). You won't taste the vinegar. I tried your carrots and ended up cooking them longer(?). Love that Kalua pork recipe you provide and will try it (I grew up in Hawaii).

*I love the instant pot so much! I have made quinoa, chicken, chili, asparagus **MyBest.Kitchen** and yogurt in it so far. The only thing that didn't work great was the asparagus. I cooked it for 1 minute and it was still overdone. It is a timesaver and uses much less energy than my gas stove.*

I really enjoyed the tips, the bacon & green beans, oatmeal variations and the yogurt recipes. Thank you. I’m a 60 yo who is cooking for myself, most of the time. I’m busy with university study and a new career and I don’t enjoy cooking for myself as much as I did, prior to being widowed and the kids growing up and moving out. I’m really lucky that Australians, have made the most of our multicultural society and embraced the culinary delights the world offers us. The American recipes that I have found on UA-cam don’t satisfy the mediteranian, asian, middle eastern and mexican inspired food I'm used to cooking in a traditional manner. The motivation to prepare and clean-up without company to make the work enjoyable, no longer exists. The energy cost is also a factor. That is why I’m being drawn to Insta-Pot and Air Frying. Off the top of your head, is there a video or YT channel you’ve know where entire meals are made, that are full of vegetables , fresh herbs and minimal meat? I have saved this video in my ‘Food’ playlist and I’ve subscribed. All the best.

This might just be the coolest instant pot recipe/demo on UA-cam! I can't believe how many food items you have that I always look for, and then you were so smart to time stamp each one! Brilliant! Thank you very much! Very very helpful!
Also, after watching one of your videos where you kept talking about the smell of instant pot food odors, I kept saying why is she so sensitive to instant pot food odors? I don't really detect odors unless I'm cooking bone broth. Now, my wife and I detect the smells in our instant pot all the time, and have to deep clean it like you. Ugh... ignorance was such bliss. 😄

works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

A great presentation, Lisa. Your smile is so welcoming. I'd only say that many chefs no longer peel ginger prior to fine grating. The skin is very thin and actually nutritious, so you save a ton of time, and don't waste a bit of that tasty root. At most, a quick brushing under a tap is fine. The grating process reduces the skin to tiny shreds, virtually undetectable in the final dish.

The way to tell if your artichoke is cooked soft enough is if you can pierce into the cut stem with a knife. Place the tip of the knife at the center of the meaty part of the cut stem and it should slide towards the center of the artichoke like butter. Otherwise your artichoke heart won’t be soft enough and that just won’t do. It’s all about that tender, succulent artichoke heart. By the way, I was taught by my mom to cut the stem very close to the bottom of the artichoke, so it sits fairly flat while you’re working with it as you eat. Plus it makes the pierce test more reliable because you’re working with less of the woody stem. And I always cook it with the stem facing up so I can test and resume cooking, if need be. 😊

On the Kraft Mac & Cheese, I like to toss in sprinklings of Cayenne, White Pepper, Basil, Thyme, and Hot Paprika. Adds a very nice kick to the results. (I've been making that on the stove top since the '70s. hehe)
Also fun (though not 100% Instant Pot) is to stir in seared sliced Kielbasa "coins".
I sometimes (most times?) leave out the milk and bump up the amount of butter instead. It comes out with a thicker cheese sauce, which I appreciate though others might not.
Classic cheap college daze dinner: Mac & Cheese with boiled frozen cut broccoli dressed with red wine vinegar. 45 years later and I still fall back to that on occasion. 🙂

I appreciate the fact that you time stamped the video with each of the items. I have extensive experience with my instant pot, making rice and all kinds of the basics all the time. But that hot and sour soup looks phenomenal

Just found your channel and love it. You explain so simply and good. Was looking for a recipe for stuffed peppers with meat filling. Do you have a recipe for them? Thank you

Hi Lisa, I enjoy watching your IP recipe. When I saw that you had the recipe for the oatmeal, I was wondering if you've ever tried cooking Quinoa with the instant pot. If you do, please let me know. I don't need any seasonings but just the simple cooking instructions. Thanks!

Idk why anyone hits the thumbs down it’s ridiculous. If you don’t like something just keep it moving. Haters are going to hate. Looove these! It took a lot of time doing these videos. You did a great job!

Read the comments and they will enlighten you. Processed tofu, no quantity of liquids used, etc. There are beginners watching this. When you’ve had it for a while you forget to tell people the basics.

Actually you’re thinking of it all wrong. Thumbs down is just an indication that a video is not for me, not hate at all. UA-cam use thumbs up and thumbs down to tune personalised suggestions. Don’t be that person that can’t understand or accept opinion contrary to your own.

@@misomicro I haven’t thought about that. Thanks for helping me see a different point of view.
