    Thanks to you I’m now an official instapot addict. I have four of them in various sizes for any occasion. My wife thinks I’m nuts but she is the first one to the table when I’m cooking up one or more of your awesome recipes. Keep the ideas coming…I even have a few of my own recipes. So much fun!

      Glad you have that many. My niece is the same way. My Instant Pot MAX was really good for the first year and still use the rice and slow cooker function. Sadly I keep getting an E-6 cooking sensor error so I assume the automatic press release servo switch sensor is burned out. Sadly the warranty has expired. I should have purchased the Instant Pot Duo with the manual release instead of the full of electronic digital controlled remote pressure release valve. The cheaper Instant Duos are more reliable over the MAX, Ultra or LUX because of that remote release valve

    I rarely use heavy cream, substituting evaporated milk. You can also use Greek yogurt in place of the sour cream. Still very tasty, way less calories!

    This looks like there would be enough for a couple meals and the rest to freeze for busy or hard days. Inspiring me, who lives alone, to actually use the one my kids gave me.

    In the 'potato and ham chowder', if you can't find that little package of ham, and don't seem to have any on hand, there's still something you can do. In the meat department of most grocery stores, there's a little "ham" shaped can. It's a small "DAK" ham (dutch). The other one is to find a little picnic ham, and cut it into cubes. Use some of those cubes in the chowder, and the rest for a nice ham salad.

    • @CFinch360

      I also don't want to used packaged foods. I googled 'fresh diced potatoes in the instant pot" and seems they only take 3 minutes to cook.So I plan to just chop the onions, peppers and potatoes and cook them along with the rest of the ingredients for 3 minutes. If it's not quite done, I plan to use the 'saute' function till it's done.

    • @Lisa.Childs
      @Lisa.Childs  5 місяців тому

      When doubling recipes, in general I usually double all ingredients except the liquid (depending on the type of recipe). And then for the cooking time I usually add an additional 2 minutes. Again, it depends on the type of food.

    When you say "10 minute pressure release" is that letting the pressure cooker just sit after it’s cooked or are you releasing the valve and then letting it sit for 10 minutes?

    • @sharongolden7773
      @sharongolden7773 Рік тому +1

      After the instant is done cooking leave it alone for ten minutes then release any remaining pressure by venting out the steam, now you can open your lid. That’s what 10 minute pressure release means.

    The ding-donging background is distracting. I keep thinking that the alarm on my stove is going off. For health reasons, it would be better to use cauliflower in place of the potatoes. If you can get it, Jimmy Dean Italian sausage is even better in Zoupa Toscana, and cauliflower is a good substitute for high-carb potatoes. You are right, Jimmy Dean is the best sausage. Good for you for using that great spatula to scrape out the bowls, many "show" cooks don't bother.
