There are only three spacers I believe but it’s explained in the CYC manual online, the wider BB you have the less spacers you need. And the spacers are all different sizes so you can’t tell which one is which by holding them side by side
Awesome instruction. Thx. Where did you buy it? Does it have a gear sensor where it would temporary cut off the power to the motor when you shifting gear to lessen the wear and tear of your cassette and chain?
shit you did a better jobs showing off the installation motor then some other sponsor video lol. how fast can it go and it is safe for you to be on the motor long time. thanks
My main thought throughout the installing cyc x1 gen 2 more powerfull than the bafang bbshd motor comparable to a gas engine scooter is why didn't you use a stronger donor bike frame with at least front suspension rather than that weaker less stiff Bobbin folding bike frame (?) Don't want to think about hitting the cyc top speed 60-70km/h on a folding frame :-D For the rest imo : You did a good job installing the cyc motor and filming it as a interesting demonstation 👍 !
My bike was stolen as I explained in my previous bike. Don’t have any funds for a new bike. So I used what I had. I actually recently found a 700cc bike by the bins and installed the cyc on that motor, much better haha. Thank you man I appreciate it! I hope to have the next video about the motor out very soon!
. ok. I hope you will find the bike fi a 700cc wich can handle the cyc x1 pro in a comfortable & safe way. Because adding the cyc high power motor to a folding bike is like adding a 2020 4k oled screen or nvidi gtx 1660 ti video card to an old pentium I windows 95 pc . I have a Bafang bbs02b 500 watt motor on my suspended Merida crossway ATB oversized alloy quality donor bike. Even in that frame sometimes riding around 40 km/h gets a little scary. The last thing you want is getting crashed due to bicycle frame faillure. Good luck on the road. Mate.
Thank you, I know exactly what you mean. I installed the kit on the 700cc bike and it’s already so much better. Funnily enough I have found an abandoned 700cc frame with a suspensions fork, and also a basic 26” wheel mtb bike. People are throwing so much stuff during this pandemic haha
Excellent presentation. And you only have 111 subscribers??? Clearly UA-cam quality and subscriber quantity have nothing in common. Does this motor assembly allow peddle assist? (I prefer that to "throttle") Given the smaller bike you have this on, what are your performance statistics, such as max speed, range, etc.? Keep up the great work -- I've decided to subscribe to your channel since you deserve a lot more than 111!
Hi Valentine - thanks appreciate the detailed vid - I've ordered the Gen2 and are waiting delivery. What battery did you use, and what is the battery connector?
Hey David, I’m currently using a Samsung 30q 15ah battery I believe the connector is called Anderson connector. That’s the connector that comes with BBSHD
@@endyyasni1325 Hi Endy, I purchased from EM3ev, which was before CYC was selling batteries. I got the 52V 14.7Ah (14S6P-25R), which seemed like a good combination of voltage and size. Its a big beast though. I ended up building a carbon fiber box for it (didn't like the look of the bag).
It’s a good motor but it has its downsides. There’s still no perfect controller for this motor. If you mostly want to use PAS then it’s amazing because of torque sensing. If you want to use for power you’ll have to choose a ASI BAC controller either will have to be fine tuned, but both version apparently suffer from cut outs, this is what I’ve seen on the Facebook group. This motor is also very light and will fit most newer downhill bicycles. However I personally still miss my first ebike that had a BSSHD with the BAC 800. That didn’t require any fine tuning just plug and play and the power is incredible, but you can basically forget about pedalling, as there’s no torque sensing and you have so much power you’ll never feel like pedalling. Also the BBSHD I believe has a more rugged build, it’s built like a tank, but the CYC does feel a little fragile, especially as you are using two chains. A lot of problems that I had have already been fixed like the weak chainring bolts. The only thing I replaced apart from the chainring bolts, where the bottom bracket bearings. My honest opinion is if you want something that will last you for a long time and you can really beat it get a BBSHD with the BAC 855 as BAC 800 has been discontinued. If you want a bicycle that’s still relatively light and rides almost like a high end Bosch electric bike get the CYC, I do believe the will eventually sort out the cut out problem, they are working on a new controller. I hope this helps
@@valentinefeldbergs5992 thank you for that response !..... I know the Grin PhaseRunner can be used with this motor and is pre-programmed by the company for this motor.
I just installed mine today and after downloading the app and turning it on, there a motor error iron on the display and the motor is not working. I checked all the connections and everything is tight and correct. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Very upset after waiting 3 months.
I had that too, you need to make sure you’re using the correct battery parameters. I accidentally changed the low and Max volts, plus make sure it has the right number of cells set
Depends on the battery voltage, more volts more RPM’s higher top speed. With my 52v battery I’m getting 31mph ish. More downhill. I’d imagine with a bac2000 controller you could do 50mph with the right setup
Thanks for the video. Well done I look forward to your impressions of the kit.
Excellent video . Thank you! :D
Thank you Valentine for sharing. This is very clear and educational !
Thank you!

Sir, thank you for posting the video. May I ask how do I know what spacer size or type do I need for my bike ? How do I measure it ?
There are only three spacers I believe but it’s explained in the CYC manual online, the wider BB you have the less spacers you need. And the spacers are all different sizes so you can’t tell which one is which by holding them side by side
So If I understood correctly, the cranks and the chainring are not mechanically connected, right?
top!!

That chain tensioner is a test I think
Why do they use an open chain instead of a closed and protected gear like the Bafangs?

What about the bank.. or the bsttery! Where does it go?

I'm also interested in further driving experience.
A tip: you can watch series at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
