How NOT to Fix Your CYC X1 PRO Chainring! (Part 1)
Re-upload with fixed sound levels
My chain came off during a rider and got stuff in the chainring. Braking off two bolts and bending the inner chainring. In this video I’m doing my best with what I have to repair it.
Hopefully I can get all of the parts I need to do this fix properly in Part 2!

This is my review and a quick close-up look of my custom santacrus bullit downhill bike. I built this bike in May 2019. And been using it since. I decided to create this video to show it off to the world and also for fun. I hope to make more videos with this bike as I upgrade it and make it the ultimate delivery/commuter bike!

    Get used to that process. Research, learn, do it. It is life these days. Being able to easily research and learn is new since the internet came out. Before that you had a library, card catalogs. You learned alot slower, and not exactly what you wanted to know. So you would be forced to fiddle around and figure it out or break it, or take it to a specialist, more expensive.

    • @valentinefeldbergs5992
      @valentinefeldbergs5992 3 роки тому

      It’s a good motor but it has its downsides. There’s still no perfect controller for this motor. If you mostly want to use PAS then it’s amazing because of torque sensing. If you want to use for power you’ll have to choose a ASI BAC controller either will have to be fine tuned, but both version apparently suffer from cut outs, this is what I’ve seen on the Facebook group. This motor is also very light and will fit most newer downhill bicycles. However I personally still miss my first ebike that had a BSSHD with the BAC 800. That didn’t require any fine tuning just plug and play and the power is incredible, but you can basically forget about pedalling, as there’s no torque sensing and you have so much power you’ll never feel like pedalling. Also the BBSHD I believe has a more rugged build, it’s built like a tank, but the CYC does feel a little fragile, especially as you are using two chains. A lot of problems that I had have already been fixed like the weak chainring bolts. The only thing I replaced apart from the chainring bolts, where the bottom bracket bearings. My honest opinion is if you want something that will last you for a long time and you can really beat it get a BBSHD with the BAC 855 as BAC 800 has been discontinued. If you want a bicycle that’s still relatively light and rides almost like a high end Bosch electric bike get the CYC, I do believe the will eventually sort out the cut out problem, they are working on a new controller. I hope this helps

    Excellent presentation. And you only have 111 subscribers??? Clearly UA-cam quality and subscriber quantity have nothing in common. Does this motor assembly allow peddle assist? (I prefer that to "throttle") Given the smaller bike you have this on, what are your performance statistics, such as max speed, range, etc.? Keep up the great work -- I've decided to subscribe to your channel since you deserve a lot more than 111!

    Replacing that old heavy chainring was a must, but I think my best upgrade to my BBSHD was swapping out the factory controller to the Ludicrous controller(3000W) from Lunacycle

    • @BH4x0r
      @BH4x0r 2 роки тому

      apart from being ugly i doubt 200g on a chainring would make a noticeable difference with that much power, especially on a heavy bike nevermind the price of some of the chainring options, people recommending the Bling Ring have too much money on their hand, €110 for a part that will wear out some people on the MTB scene really throw money away for a negligible difference, i don't care if my battery dies 1% faster, if even that and yeah the controller etc are worth much more than a chainring upgrade, apart from the fact the original chainring doesn't have a nice bitey profile (doesn't hook onto the chain like the Lekkie does) but there are far cheaper options that do the same thing except for save 50 grams at most

I don't like the part where you said that as it is torque sensor if you pedal hard enough it will push straight 1500 watts through it, that surely refuces the range a lot. Nothong beats a hub motor in reliability to be honest, but fixing punctures is a pain in the backside, for a long roadtrip I don't raccomend high power motors, I'd say go with a 500 max 750w motor. Mid drives have so many points that can fail, chain, gears, cluch... hub motor has none (direct drive)

      @@gursisingh1940 Yes that is true direct drive hub such a simple design nothing really break. They also get higher efficiency on the flats too. Debating getting Grin's new DD hub motor. Lot people on Sun trip go with 1000 - 1500 watt motors and run them half power. Because less heat / stress on the motor. I really do like mid drives though they are so nice on the hills. Hubs are awful on the hills. That only down fall with them.
