Quite interesting. I recently saw the terms regarding both translations; having a classic NT version myself, and was curious about what the fuss was about. It seems that they both; either/or, have merit for checking for clarity and understanding, as one reads their preferred version. Thanks for taking the time to share. Subscribed!
I have a copy of the 1958 Amplified New Testament and the Amplified but not the classic. Whats great about about the 1958 besides the fact that it's novel size, is that the amplified sources are noted, with a biography of the sources in the back (where as they don't include that in todays Amplified) the amplification is a bit different than the Amplified today and I enjoy it very much.
I rely solely on Amplified Classic. They shouldn't be able to call new version Amplified if it's different translation. What if I called my version king James? Would you have to call the 400 year old version the King James Classic version?
It’s annoyong they don’t make new versions of the classic. Clearly people like that version a lot and it seems many prefer it. Comparing the two online I definitely prefer the classic.
Kenneth Copeland Ministries bought the copyrights to the Classic version and you can buy through them. It’s about $30 and it’s paperback. I thought I was buying a hardback but… 🤷♀️. Nonetheless, I am reading and marking it up a lot lately! 😊 Just wish it was hardback.
@@hollynoel19 I think I had seen that too, for some reason I didnt get it, if you go on bible gateway , its exactly the same? I cant remember why I didnt end up getting it. aside from that though I don't think id like to support his lifestyle.
2015 version is a pile of JUNK & i can not find the AMPClassic version for sale brand new only the awful version who gives the credit to some man!! If I could find the 1958 version that would be nice. There are used versions but I think it's a shame that only 2015 can be bought new. When I read portions of 2015 I could tell something was different in a negative way. I DONT LIKE THE WAY IT READS & AMPC WAS NOT BROKEN & IT IS A DIRTY TRICK TO FORCE THE AWFUL NEW VERSION WITH OUT ALLOWING US TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE BETTER VERSION WE KNOW & TRUST.
Yes to this. The new one is awful and I’ve been searching for a leather edition of the classic but they go for 200 bucks. I wish they’d just publish the classic still. All other translations do this. Lockman published both the NASB 95 and 2020. They can do the same with AMPC and AMP. The new one is watered down, more commentary instead of just amplification. It’s a shame.
I frequent a good used book store in Chattanooga Tennessee called McKays. I often see the 58 and the classic. I am reading through the AMPC this year. I don’t think I’ll ever read it through again. To me it’s more of a version to compare a verse or two with your primary Bible. In my case the KJV.
I wonder what the 1965 version is like compared to 1987. The 65 obviously has old and New Testament so I guess the 87 just has more amplified notes . Iv read the 87 online but haven’t seen the 65 version available to read so I have no clue what the difference is
I read the amplified Bible everyday. I have other translations as well. A I believe every translation serves a purpose for different reading levels.
Very good of you to give his overview. I would love a parallel AMPC/AMP. :) Probably will just have to buy them both.
I read classic love it as I can get more revelation thank you
Hi there. May I know where you bought the classic version? Thanks.
I use the newer one. I really enjoy it.

Amazing, I haven't run across the 1958 Amplified New Testament, it sounds very interesting

Don't compare mundane verses but essential verses. Like the verses in My video, done in 2017.
One for academics. One for lay people.
Its baptist doctrines no thanks
Can you explain?

Classic AMPC is copyrighted in 1987!! After 1915 AMP.
