- It should go without saying that every serious student of the Bible should only read and study accurate translations of the Bible. They should also have a zero tolerance for all substandard translations. This study will help you to understand why certain translations of the Bible should be avoided.

THANK YOU for the list
I always heard that the NIV is not a good translation.
@@debbie94510 I am not a fan of the NIV. It is inconsistent with certain Greek terms. Not the worst one ever, but I cannot recommend it.
Thanks for saving me nearly half an hour! 🙂
Brilliant thank you
I am a new Christian (just over a year) and I love the in depth long videos. Really helps. The 5 min videos leaves me with more questions than answers. So thank you for the longer videos
I love my KJV and I will never exchange it for any version. I understand every word of God in it although english is not my native tongue. I always pray for God's Holy Spirit to guide me when reading it.
Amen, if you’ve accepted Jesus as your King and Savior, which I believe you have, then the Holy Spirit lives in you and will teach you all things concerning God,Jesus His Son and the Holy Spirit. Even if the Bible was removed from us by governments or whoever, the Holy Spirit would still teach us because we are God’s Children and He won’t leave His Children without His Word and Truth. In short, if the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit lives in you, then the Truth of God and the Word of God lives in you. When you read your Bible, you are focusing your attention on God and when that happens, God’s Holy Spirit starts bringing up from within you the Truth of God, this is also true when you pray and are focusing on God at other times as well. God can never be taken away, isn’t that awesome! Rev. Daryl Drennan
@@daryldrennan Amen! The Holy Spirit is our Comforter.
You can love your KJV, but be aware that 17th century scholarship was inaccurate in several places. That was not the translator's fault. The did the best they could with the manuscripts they had to work with. Read the New King James Version (NKJV) where the beauty of the KJV is largely retained, but the translation is accurate.
Diabolical Doctrine: The King James Version Is the Perfect Word of God
Anything in the King James that is in italics has been ADDED to the scriptures. If you add to God's Word then it no longer becomes God's Word. Just as Eve added to the Word it looses it power and authority.
Finding this channel was not an accident! I have been guilty of watching TV for hours and then wondering why I am spiritually dry! You think I know better..God is truly a loving father who saw what was going on in my life and us correcting it. God bless you!
I just found your channel and this is the first video I watched. Speaking for myself, I love the long studies. I will watch much more of your videos. God bless you for what you do in teaching the true word of God. I have always stood on the last verses of Revelations in that you can't add or take away from the Bible. Thank you Lord for letting me find this channel.
I only read and study from the KJV Bible. It's what I cut my teeth on many moons ago. I have no problem reading and understanding Elizabethan English. If I do come across a word I'm not familiar with, I look it up and research it.
Amen!
@Warrior. GOOD FOR YOU!! The KJV Bible is the ONLY version I rely on to tell the truth. It's the ONLY version of God's Holy Word the Bible that is inerrant and infallible.
Me too! It gives you alot of indepthness too when studing. When you are looking up words. I love it!! 🙌🏻
Same here, I love my KJV and the thee's and thou's give God more authority in my opinion. Plus I also look up and research word's that I do not understand, plus the KJV was written by the best scholars at the time, some who knew multiple languages.✝❤🙏
I love the King James Version. I love the “ thee, thou, thy , thine”. etc, These words are not commonly used in everyday language. I love that !
@eileen. I love the 1611 King James Authorized Version of God's Holy Word the Bible because it's the ONLY version that is inerrant and infallible. It's also much easier to read than the so-called modern versions of God's Holy Word the Bible.
Amen from taiwan 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
eileendunkle • I prefer the Douay-Rheims Bible. It is a few years older than the KJV, but a lot of the KJV contains exact passages taken from the DRB. It has thee and thou, but I love it. Also the (New) and older Jerusalem Bible are very beautifully written. I have never heard a word said against any of these.
Good luck.
@@lynettepalecek3141 Who told you it is inerrant and infallible? Because nothing except God alone is those 2 things. Don't get caught in that trap.
As I said, my Bible is a little older than KJV, and entire passages taken from it are printed word for word in the KJV.
So I guess mine is inerrant and infallible too?
I find KJV scripture much easier to memorize. Also, I hear God's 'tone' when I read it. I have the L B Paraphrased, and use it like a commentary
I was raised on kjv and all thru college, I read this version til it fell apart. Love it so much, and still use this version today! I have a great affection for my Bible and love having it near me!❤
Earlier this week I received my newest purchase from the KJV store. A 1611 KING JAMES BIBLE. Same size and everything. Weighs over thirty pounds. Some of the cars I've owned didn't cost as much as this book. I couldn't care less what any detractor thinks of that.
KJV is the ONLY accurate bible in the English language. The other versions, add, subtract and totally leave out certain scriptures. SAD that people can't see this!
The last few months I have been slowly studying and idk what happened but suddenly I have gotten kicked into overdrive. I have recently started reading more plus reading bible stories to my children. I appreciate this video because I want to teach my kids the best I can.
I enjoy the (Authorized) KJV because it is easier for me to memorize chapters of PSALMS and verses from both the OT and NT. I have a "toolbox" of around 100 or so scriptures in my head that are used on a regular basis. The Amplified , NKJV, NIV, ESV, and the NET are useful references. I find that cross referencing with these versions are more helpful for learning scripture explanation than commentaries.
Thank you for this sermon. I wholeheartedly agree with what you said. I know from personal experience that the study of the King James Version of the Bible brings conviction of sin. It happened to me.
So you should be convicted of your sin, that’s what we read the Bible for. We need to see the truth and know that we cannot live anyway that we want, and serve God too.
The Holy Spirit is the one who convicted!
Sorry sir. Revelation 22 : 18 and 19 refers only to Revelation. THIS BOOK. Not THE BOOK.
I was interviewed for television once, about thirty years ago, and was asked about translations. I said that many of them were fraudulent for profit. The director chopped my comment out of the program. I am so glad to find you a kindred spirit, with the courage to say what I tried to say then. Thank you for your knowledgable, honest and passionate defense of the authentic text which is our heritage from the Holy Spirit. May God reward you now and forever.
This may sound a tad odd to the uninformed, but Christians need to be more shrewd. Had you said that many of the translations were _less than accurate_ instead of fraudulent, the director probably wouldn't have chopped your comment. Of course, "less than accurate" would've been less accurate than "fraudulent" but it would've achieved the purpose. 😉
I would appreciate if u just mention immediately what biblical translation versions u would Not recommend for us 2 read instead of spending a lot of your time in discussing other insignificant issues 2 avoid wastage of your viewers' time in listening n watching u.Tnx.
So Christians say the Bible is the Word of God ? God has left a book for the salvation of souls yet the Bible can be falsified. Did an all knowing God not know that the book would be changed. The Jews changed the Old Testament on a few occasions They removed MacCabees and other books and Luther followed. Today the Jews are happy to talk of MacCabees.
@@huntongchee4158 He actually said not to even read the NWT, however i regard the NWT to be the most accurate translation.
@@lawrencedavidson6195NWT accurate? Why? Can you point to any verse where it is more accurate than any modern translation?
For brevity's sake, here is the list of the five bibles in question: The Message, The Passion Bible, The Living Bible, The Good News Bible, and the Contemporary English Version.
Thank you
Thank you for listing the 5 translations to avoid. What do you think about the accuracy of thought for thought versions such as NLT? Personally I think word for word is much more accurate.
@@paulajohnson6409 The NLT is a great resource and it is the Bible I often give away to new believers and teach from when talking to young people. I have never done an in-depth verse-by-verse comparison, but the people that have that I trust say that the overwhelming majority of the choices they made in translation were good. The NLT is not a word for word. It is a functional equivalent with a bias toward being much easier to read, and it might seem to cross into a paraphrase category for some people. It is not among my normal personal study translations, but I started in the KJV 40 years ago. Sometimes the language in the NLT is so new it distracts me, so I use the ESV.
Don’t forget NIV, ESV. NLT, NKJV, there is only ONE BIBLE to read. The King James Bible
@@Siaya7 So if you read in another language, you are out of luck? Also, God's promises are bigger than a single translation. He promises if we seek Him, we will find Him in Matthew 7:7-8. There are other well-known verses like Jer 33:3, Isa 55:11, John 16:13, and Rev 3:20 that make similar promises. Tell me, in the KJV, which I know pretty well, where does it say to only read the KJV? Where does it say the Holy Spirit only works if we stay with versions translated from the Textus Receptus? My God is bigger than a single translation. My God planned to have His Word translated many many times over the years into languages that spread It all over the globe (Isa 55:11). The Bible warns us against pharisaical religious requirements and burdening believers with tradition in Matthew 16:6-12 & Acts 15:5-31. In Matthew 23, Jesus warns us against religious elitism, like, "Look at me, I am better than other Christians because I read the KJV." I am not accusing you of this, but be careful. I assume since you have decided the KJV is the only Bible a person can read you might be familiar with the hymn, "Have Faith in God." Put your faith in Him, not the KJV which history tells us had some outside influences while being translated. I am not knocking the KJV, it was my translation of choice for close to three decades. God is bigger than the debate of Textus Receptus vs Critical Text, trust HIM!
Thank you for sharing. This took time and dedication to produce and post.
I used to read the KJV from youth. Nowadays I am inclined to read NKJV. It is a lot easier to read. I studied a lot English Literature so reading the older versions isnt too hard, but it does slow me down.
I recently purchased a NLT Bible and I'm interested in reading it. I like reading the Bible as a whole. It is important to me to fully understand the bigger picture.
I also study individual verses, but there is a hazard to take it out of context. I prefer to read surrounding text to have a clue about what was going on when the verse was said.
I could sit under this man as Pastor, and listen for many years to his sermons. great list sir.
I LOVE KING JAMES VERSION!!!!
What did the Apostles think of it?
@vonhalberstadt3590 what a dishonest question, that reveals your heart. We have the very word in the king James Bible that they had.God promised to preserve them. We have them in English today in THE KING JAMES BIBLE. ALL AUTHORITY WORD OF GOD
@robcrobert the NASB is more accurate.
@johnmabbett6586 Really? I'll give you a sample. NASB1995
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
The word of God says it differently
(Matthew 5:22 KJB
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Notice nasb omitted without a cause. The nasb makes Jesus a sinner by omitting without a cause. Why ? Because Jesus was angry when he drove out the money changers. I could give you many many examples of errors in the nasb. Do you want to compare it with God's word?
@@vonhalberstadt3590 They said "its 400 years old."
I grew up with the King James Version. When I was a kid at Bible camp, I remember a counselor saying, "Don't let a few 'thee's and thou's keep you out of heaven."
, "Don't let a few 'thee's and thou's keep you out of heaven." The ESV and NIV identify Jesus as God in Romans 9:5 where as the KJV doesn't. To name a few
@@againstthepope2362 Unlike the KJV, the ESV and the NIV, and as far as I can tell, all modern bibles rob Jesus of his deity in Philippians 2:6.
@@PlaidRicky1611 this ia a foot note off The Net Bible Translators notes in regard to Phil 2:6 '' The Greek term translated form indicates a correspondence with reality. Thus the meaning of this phrase is that Christ was truly God.'' So, KJV or any other version say the same thing, its just worded slightly different. The word ''robbery '' in greek is ἁρπαγμός (harpagmos) 'something to grasp' (G0725). I believe the NIV translates it best (NIV) who, being in very nature ▼God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;. And verse 7 drives it home
@@againstthepope2362 You're wrong!!
@againstthepope2362 You can't leave out God's Holy name in Philippians 2:6. When you do that, then you're corrupting God's Holy Word the Bible! Shame on you for doing that!! "Correspondence with reality" is definitely NOT the same thing as "God!" Btw, you're wrong about Romans 9:5. The KJV does make it clear that Christ is God. You're just too stupid to understand how to read that version of the Holy Bible.

@@clellaadamsTo make such a claim shows how grossly ignorant you are about the Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament...
@cristojoubert5385 you have 3 fingers pointing back at you. To make an uninformed statement , like you did is humorous. You ha e elevated a man's document over the Word and do not even realize it. Think about it.

Recently I have come to understand how lucky I’ve been. My uncle put notes in my New American Standard in the places he and his colleagues believed to be less then correct. He translated both first century Hebrew and Greek. Uncle Robert also gently taught me from his Hebrew and Greek books until I was twelve. Even then I knew what a gift that was.
...Believed to be less than... Not, "then". Sounds like your uncle was a good man.
@@fredthe47th Thank you for your comment, and I apologize for my 'unfortunately' worded statement. Grow up.
@edwardpearce9668 Don't feel bad for you choice of words, everybody could understand what you meant. By the way, "unfortunate" would be as wrong as "lucky" according to @fredthe47th 's. narrow criteria. This reminds me of 1st Timothy 6:4. "He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings". God bless 🙂

@@fredthe47thUsing the word "lucky" does not always imply paganism. As I've gotten older, I've seen God's providence in what appears to be good luck. It is often unwise to jump to conclusions.
I prefer my KJV (King James Version) of the Bible. I will always go for it .
We in the west, especially the Anglosphere, make an odd assumption about translation. We seem to think word for word accuracy equates to accuracy of meaning. No one who's fluent in more than one language believes this.
thank you for the teaching today. I have been a Christian for many years. I was raised like you on The KJV Bible and I never would even think about reading any other version. After listening to you today, I am going to read The New American Study Bible. I have read the KJV several times. I love reading it. I love studying the Bible.

Why should one think that your god performed the miracle of inspiring the words of the bible if he didn’t perform the miracle of preserving the words of the bible?
I started as a baby Christian with the AMPC because KJV would have been too hard for me to understand, I now read the KJV as well and am very grateful to God for helping me understand His Word.I occasionally read other passages from other translations to help me understand the meaning. I love the AMPC and KJV.I must add that I had no knowledge of The Lord or the Bible when He saved me,so the AMPC really helped me,it still does, but love the KJV as well now.
Using the NKJV or NIV together can help understand the KJV Bible! The Good News Version is rubbish, one of the worst translations I have ever owned!
I use AMPC and the NKJV interchangeably.
@@suchatimeasthis1880
Another way to find out if a Bible version is a good one, is by reading *Psalm 23:5.*
It says, _"...my cup runneth over"_ other translations (e.g. Good News) says, _"...my cup is filled to the brim"_
_What is this cup and what is in it?_ *Answer* You are the cup, the stuff in the cup is blessings from God!
In the AMPC the same basic version as NKJV - Psalm 23 the same
@@suchatimeasthis1880
Also is 1 John 5:7 in the AMPC Bible?_"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one."
Most "modern" Bibles omit this verse and claim it was added in the 16th century and wasn't in the original manuscripts!
In my prayer and reading, I use the NKJV and I am quite comfortable with it, but recently I have been listening to an audio bible on youtube while on walks or driving etc. When I saw your video I looked up the version that I have been listening to and sure enough it is the Contemporary English Audio Bible, and that was No 5 on your list. Thank you for setting me straight.
The NKJ version is also a bad one. The old KJ version is better
I too use the kjv and other so called Bibles are incorrect and the niv is poision!
That's not just Tiff who set you straight, it was the Holy Spirit within you who lead you to him. As it says in scripture, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." (John 14:26). He's called the "Spirit of Truth" for a reason. He will never allow you to continue listening to, believing, or practicing a lie.
Pastor, I do not understand how the NIV is on your list as an accurate Bible. You just finished quoting Rev 22:18-19 about adding and removing the words of the Bible is a curse but it is said the NIV omits many scriptures in it's translation. Is this not true? Please advise.
In the NIV look up these verses; John 5:4, Mathew 23:14, Mathew 17:21, Mathew 18:11, Mark 7:16, Mark 9:44, Mark 9:46, Mark 11:26, Mark 15:28, Luke 17:36, John 5:4, Acts 8:37, Acts 15:34, Acts 24:7, Acts 28:29, Romans 16:24.
I didn't hear the New World Translation, either. That's the one the Jehovah Witness use to prove Jesus isn't God.
Verses may not be in a translation because they don't exist in a majority of manuscripts or are heavily contested as being original. You will likely find references in the footnotes and comments.
The warning is to not ADD to scripture or REMOVE. So how do you know if one of those verses was added to one translation, or removed from another? You have to survey all the available ancient manuscripts and use proper historical and textual critical sciences to determine the likelihood that some verse is really original. And scholars know how to do that.
This is usually only a point KJV-onlyist types bring up because they consider KJV the most high standard and all differences that other translations have are "additions" or "removals" FROM the KJV, as if KJV were somehow the actual standard, which it isn't. Why is a verse "missing" from another translation? Rather than ADDED to KJV? We only know that by the textual sciences and historical research of manuscripts. That's how. KJV has stuff that is likely added. Most translations have footnotes and commentary about contested text.
There is no conspiracy, there is just choices made by translators and historians about the validity of a handful of texts. It's a small number and not all that significant in the grand scheme of doctrines.
I use the Douay-Rheims version 1899 edition. First published 1609.
Was brought up with king James version now I use The N I v and love this love your talks thank you live in U K god bless am 88 years old
I use the KJV as a standard on which different denominations can come together on, plus the use of language is very poetic and beautifully written. When I study the Old Testament, I use KJV and JPS (Jewish Publication.) I’m a Christian studying the Hebrew versions of the Old Testament called the Tanach. When I read the New Testament and use the KJV with supplementary secondary source content.
Same here, I went so far as to get 3- 1917 OJPS The Holy Scriptures from ebay. One was 66 years old "brand new" from 1957. Had it redone in leather calfskin. Good stuff.

Why should one think that your god performed the miracle of inspiring the words of the bible if he didn’t perform the miracle of preserving the words of the bible?
KJV Only for me thank you very much :) The Ye's, Thou's, Thines are very important and they are not hard to understand. They give the proper context to the verses and tell you exactly who God is speaking to. I understand the scriptures by the Holy Spirit, not by my own understanding.
Idk why you think they're important, lol. But I love the KJV too, & as a teenager with no knowledge of the Bible at all I had no problem understanding what I needed to. As I grew I learned how to look things up & my mom got me a Strongs Exhaustive Concordance, & I've loved it. You can't learn the original language meanings from other versions. I think that alone sets the KJV above the rest.

Many profess believers of Jesus Christ believe that the fourth commandment to keep the Sabbath holy was nailed to the cross and that we no longer have to keep it, while still embracing the other nine commands. Do you believe this?
Ask yourself this question: which one or ones of the following Ten Commandments do Jesus wants us to keep and obey?
1. Thou shalt not have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make or bow down to gpl raven image.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
5. Honor thy father and thy mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness.
10. Thou shalt not covet.
Answer_________________
The Sabbath command is not only to be kept but it is to be calculated by the Time/calendar God ordained in the beginning of creation, Genesis 1:14. The sun, moon and stars are God’s True Time/calendar not that famous Gregorian calendar hanging on our walls in our houses. The Sabbath is calculated by the sun, moon and stars.
This split in God’s law must be repaired!! All of God’s laws, statutes, judgments and testimonies are just and true! We must do things God’s way or else we will be worshipping him in vain. There will be no good reward.
God may allow the people that rules this world to enforce some type of Sabbath law to test people to see if they will keep His law or no.
Already, there are Sabbath laws/blue laws/Sunday laws on government books today.
Friday is not the true Sabbath. Saturday is not the true Sabbath. Sunday is not the true Sabbath, etc., because they are calculated by man’s time/calendars.
This information is helpful both now and future, to get back to God’s ways and be able to choose wisely if such a “Sabbath Test” is enforced.
Let us read our Bibles, seriously repent of our evil ways, stop worshiping other gods, talking about one another, stealing, killing, lying, fornicating, adultery, disobedient to parents, etc., etc., etc.
Worship Him that made heaven, earth and sea. This Babylonian system is falling, the Powers in charge are aware of this fact but they cannot stop it. Their time is coming to an end! Our time is coming to an end!
If any worship the beast and his image and receive his mark, the same shall have no rest day or night and they shall be burnt with fire and brimstone. Revelation 13 and 14. Deuteronomy 5 Isaiah 58:12-14.
Also, research the “Seven Noahide Laws.” I have heard that these are Jewish laws taken from their book, “Talmud.” The first law forbids idolatry and according to Jewish writings, to believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is idolatry and is punishable by death, decapitation. I have also heard that some of the USA presidents have signed this law under “Proclamation 5956-. Education Day, U.S.A, 1989 and 1990” and, word is that, it is planned to be unleashed on all nations in the future. So, Research and see if these things be truth.
May The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
@Mumzy. I agree with you completely!!

I am Afrikaans 68 years old speaking and the KJV is my Bible of preference
I was raised with the KJV I had difficulty with many names until I downloaded the KJV app and I could read alone and learn the difficult names..Thank you for making this video
I have used a KJV for as long as I can remember and would not trade it for anything because of the personal notes I have written in it, but I will say that I do use a Septuagint now when studying the Old Testament. My question is why do all of the western Bibles only use the Masoretic Text and not the Septuagint? When it comes to the Deity of Christ the MT has some issues that are mostly ignored by the American Church. Thanks, and God Bless

You will absolutely love my videos on prophet Bradley U-tube!
I am heartened by the number of people in comments who love kjv
I noticed you never mentioned AMPC(Amplified classic)
Or the
1599 Geneva.
I use both and love them. Why would you put NIV before the AMPC when the NIV has removed scripture verses out of it?
I would prefer Geneva.
The Geneva Bible is the most accurate and it is a great study Bible..it was translated by my Great Uncle William Tyndale..I ONLY read the Geneva Bible…KJV is completely incorrect..if you go back to who King James was it would self explanatory….
The NIV didn't actually remove anything.
It's based on Greek manuscripts that the KJV translators didn't have access to.
In 1611 the oldest mss they had access to were from around 800AD and today we have some mss that are from around 100-150AD.
And we found that scribes copying the mss sometimes *added* text which ended up in bible translations. The NIV used older mss and didn't include the verses that were not original like the KJV translators unknowingly did.
I want you to know your videos are great. You and someone else are the only 2 I trust and watch.
I can't believe people are saying things like that. People can be cruel. I know your spiritually tough and have a god protecting you. But I wanted you to know. Your doing a great job, your teachings are good. They are at a good pace and very knowledgeable for us that are on the same level as you and other true Christians. I appreciate you.
I am quite new to your sermons and have recently been thinking I'd like a Bible. I am so glad i heard this before I purchased. Thank you Tiff and Lost Lamb. 🙏
Thank you Mr. Shuttlesworth for providing us these valuable videos. God Bless
I will continue to use my New King James Version. I also use other Bible translations, concordances, and commentaries in my studies. There are words used in the KJV that have different meanings today (like the word "replenish" in Gen. 1:28), so even the KJV isn't perfect. Not realizing the change in meanings can cause confusion, and cause people to believe there are contradictions. When it comes to being error free, that would be the original scriptures that our Bibles have been translated from.
We also say rejoice. Which means to have joy. It doesn't mean to have joy again.
See also Esther 7:5 "presume in his heart" = to make full (replenish)👍👍For more on this topic, No King But Caesar & The Return Of The Melchisedec is available online at Advantage Books. Peace to all.
You should order the book by Laurance Vance on the so-called archaic words. It's very educational. Also, I thought of this a few days ago. Do you say rejoice? or do you say 'joice'? Just an example.
One of the oldest texts predates the KJV by over 800 years and forms the heart of the Ethiopian bibles with 84 books, yet the Romans and now the 'West' dismisses these versions.
There are what we call archaic words in pretty much every bible. The NKJ isn't very good. See David Daniels video on the NKJV and you will understand. As for the word replanish, we also use the word rejoice. Just something to think about. As for archaic words, there is a great book on the subject by Laurance Vance, vance publications. It will help understand a whole lot of words in the Bible and make you smarter than the average bear.
I'm always looking forward to hearing and watching your teachings of the word of God 😊🙏
You will absolutely love my videos on prophet Bradley U-tube
I'm Jerusalem Bible Study Edition. Accurate,, up to date with scholarship and the notes are superb for a single volume, giving even where the different sources of the Pentateuch begin and end for example.
The Jerusalem Bible is a Catholic bible. There are reasons not to trust the choices of the Vatican since its inception, especially since that religion puts itself ABOVE the Word of God and disobeys it blatantly.
Thank you Tiff..You are always a wealth of knowledge and teaching✝️
Thank you Tiff for your time and great care on this subject. I own KJV, ESV, NASB. Of which I have always preferred the NASB. This is not the first time I've heard it said that the NASB is arguably the most accurate translation. In fact I'm getting ready to order a new Bible in NASB 1995 edition in goatskin. I wanted a more handy carry size to transport with me everywhere I go. I cherish God's Holy Word and study to show myself approved a workman that needs not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. Thank you for you ministry. May our Savior and Lord continue to bless your ministry as you work for His Kingdom.
Thank you. Your 3 Bibles are what I have and believe Christians would be very well taken care of spiritually if they had these three. When I became a believer in Christ, in the triune God, I had a King James Bible, simply a text Bible, later I did get a good King James Reference Bible that I still have.
I believe we have too many Bibles and the many that are not true translations are not good as I see it. I love the King James, so readable, published at a time when English was at its best...such common, easy to understand wording, easy to memorize too. I read through it many times, maybe 20 times and that besides using it at church, studying, etc. Last, I saw other "translations" suddenly flooding the market place and I bought & read the Modern Language Bible (also called, The New Berkely Translation by Gerrit Verkuyle(?) and I liked it except for a disturbing verses that showed me, I believe, what I am sure is a strong Arminianism...being a Baptist-Reformed, in the tradition of Spurgeon, etc, I stayed with my reliable, most beautiful translation...King James...and finally though I read through the RSV, King James I said before, I discovered the most accurate translation, the ASV, later revised only a little, called the NASB.
I must stop here but I came upon the ESV, which, to me, is the "real King James the 2nd."
Thus, I have the 3 dependable ones as you do. ESV is very readable and I read through it, use it a lot, I use NASB too and love it. Excuse the long ramble but naturally a fellow believer may behave this way! Best, w
If you agree with Tiff’s recommendation, can you explain why Matthew 17:21 is not found in the NASB? So removing verses is the new definition of being accurate?
Thank you. I appreciate the information. The NLT is so easy to read and understand.
My NASB has Mathew 17:21. Yours should.
The NASB is not most accurate.
The HalleluYah Scriptures is the best version of the Father’s Word-the most accurate-and restores the Names of YHWH and Yahshua back to where they belong-nearly 7000 times! The Father put His Name in His Word thousands of times, but you will not find His Name in modern translations. It is such a blessing to have a version that has honored, obeyed, revered and esteemed our Heavenly Father by putting His Name back in His Own Word-where He originally put it! HalleluYHWH! This is HIS End-Times Restoration, just as He promised! “Therefore see, I am causing them to know, this time I cause them to know My Hand and My Might. And they shall know My Name is YHWH!” Jeremiah/YirmeYahu 16:21 🙏🏻
Yashua means salvation,. not Jesus.any don't know that.

I use the Jerusalem Bible mainly. I would be interested to know what you think about that translation. Thank you.
I'm sticking with the King James version Bible.. Shepherd chapel read it verse by verse.. and documents everything, I've learned so much I love the King James Bible Amen
I have almost every translation there is, but my go to Bibles are the KJV and NKJV. I never get too far from these.
Please read my comment thank you. God bless.
NKJV is a perversion.
stay away from the New King James bible
Why?

Thank you for life-giving information. I find that the King James Bible makes memorizing Scripture easier than others. And many, many Scriptures in song from the KJV have become a valuable part of my praising, thanking and worshipping God in my daily devotions. And it is important to ask God for wisdom and understanding when reading God's Word. I find Him faithful to His promise that His Holy Spirit will help me in this way as i commit myself to continue studying and not giving up - and He does. There are Godly teachers who have helped me grow in faith, love and patient endurance as well. All thanks, praise, glory and honor be to God in Jesus' Name. Thank you, again.
Order the book In Awe Of Thy Word and you will be blessed by it. It describes that very subject and the whys.
I listen to your message often, thanks for sharing.
🙏PTL🙏I still connect AND IN LOVE WITH with my KJV Bible.🙏😇💕
I have a NIV from 1980 and ine i purchased a year ago and there have been some changes in the words. I prefer the older one but it's falling apart which is why I bought the new one. Never would have imagined it would have changed
Bro. Tiff, I’m gleaning from EVERY word. Hallelujah!
Thank you, Reverend Shuttlesworth, for this valuable information. A little omission or twist and people can miss the mark. A pilot once said deviating from the route by 5 degree can mean about 150 miles away from destination.
Great message on truth or deceiving translation of the Bible. I agree on your translation of truth and error! Thank you 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love the longer videos. You can't gain the correct information unless you put the time and energy into the teachings!
Tiff, I found you here on UA-cam a little over 2 weeks ago and have spent many hours listening to your wonderful teaching taking notes and purchased a new NIV bible since it was the only one the local Walmart had. I'm new to christianity and trust your honesty and am one who enjoys your longer UA-cam videos. I would like to hear your thoughts on The Chosen as I like many others I'm sure have been guided to watch this free series. Thank you and God Bless you. Cherie
I only read and study the Authorized King James Bible. I consider it the authority on ALL matters, and respect no other translations. Modern perversions have changed, added and deleted entire words and verses. Rev 22 says anyone who does this will have their names removed from the Book of Life, not the tree of life. I believe having all these Bible perversions allows people to search until they find one that says what they want it to say. I don’t like that at all. How can we all be on the same page, if we’re not even on the same book?
Have you read the authors forward to the KJV???
Who authorized the KJV? Anyone? Anyone? King James had to authorize the translation, because it was for the Anglican Church to move away from the RCC. You seem to be an extremely lazy person. No disrespect, but you need to tell the truth about yourself and repent.
I think the NIV has some real discrepancies. Love my KJV.
Fully agree! The errors in the NIV are shocking!!

❤ Unusual testimony.. after being Catholic (religiosity) for 15 years, I started reading in depth, the 'Living Translation' TLB for easy understanding. This opened the door for me in a huge way on my salvation, who Christ truly was, His attributes etc. I now use KJV, NASB alongside it for study.
Praise God
The new translations use the vaticanus and Alexandrian manuscripts. These translations cause the Word to contradict itself. They also weaken the diety of Christ.
Sorry to hear that!
I have the sane testimony. So grateful for the Life Application NLT which really helped me understand Scripture. I memorize from the NAS. ❤
The NLT (on the recommended list) has the LB in its lineage. Early editions more readily show its heritage.
I'm 76 years old now and I've been a Christian for 53 years, and during that time I've owned several different Bible translations, but I always go back to the King James Version. Once in awhile I'll look up verses in the NASB version to compare what it says with what the King James Version says, but I hardly ever do that any more. I just stick with the King James Version.
I'm 74 , and I'm glad about the better translations,. When I was 22years old , Exodus 20:13 mislead me when I was in the Army, and Luke 14: 26 was a bad translation that God got me threw, and finally a new translation got it right, The Passion new testament.😊
if you mean that the passion translation got you through your hard times and you are being truthful, im sorry but it is inaccurate very much so and the creator has no knowledge of hebrew, greek, or aramaic and he redirects it towards himself most of the time@@chadboxford3589

Christianity is not an achademic bible study, a religion, a way of life even....CHRISTIANITY IS A RELATIONSHIP
No Christianity is a message sent by Christ of doing faithfulness’s obedience to Christ Jesus in His church not this guys or any church other than that built on this the same rock as Peter, the Catholic Church, being fathered from above. This guy claims he knows how God is about His message but then reviles it and rebels against God.
@@rinkevichjm You have thay wrong. You don`t have to belong to a church to be a Christian! The teaching of the Gospel is the message, and when answered to, a relationship is deveoped with the Saviour and we become patterned after him . Christ`s church is made up of Christians who have a link with each other in their belief in Christ. "Where two or three are gathered unto my name , There am I in the midst" Is the principle on which the Church is formed. Nowhere in scripture does it speak about establishing a hierarchical system like the Roman Catholic Church!

ThxBro Tiff. I lead a neighbors child to Christ a couple years ago and I am gently disabling her. She comes from an unsafe family. And the child has dyslexia. I had just purchased her a new, living translation, the “inspire “edition that has drawings in it that people can color. It’s a journaling Bible. And I was so glad to hear that the NLT is on your list for being the easiest read Bible. Since this child is now almost 11 years old and is overcoming dyslexia I think she would be able to handle it plus, I think she would get joy from coloring the pretty drawings that are in the Bible. So now I intend to go out to an art store and buy her some good watercolor, pencils, and some things like that so that she’ll have her own tools. Thanks for all you do! God bless you!
I'm thinking you meant "discipling her" rather than "disabling her". Grateful for saints who will lead kids to the Savior and bring them up in the faith.

I recently discovered the Geneva bible which was written before the KJV.
It was compiled by a group of scholars who moved to Geneva to avoid persecution by their governments. It seems there was a certain paranoia regarding the creation of an English bible. Evidently some rulers feared losing control over the people if they had an English bible. Heaven forbid if the people were able to read God's word for themselves.
I have not read and compared every text but of the key texts I was able to research, the message is identical.
I grew up using the original KJV and a few years ago also researched the NKJV. That helps bridge the gap to modern English.
Thank you so much for your ministry! I just found you a few days ago. I have watched several of you videos. I found you initially because I was doing a search trying to find out if the NIV translation that I have used, and loved for the past 33 years, was indeed an accurate, and trusted Bible. I don't understand why I am now just hearing people saying bad things about this translation. I have come to understand that possibly the ESV may be a better way to go for me with future Bible purchases. I really enjoy a very accurate, but also understandable Bible. I like to write in my Bible when I feel the Lord is speaking to me, or during a Bible study and I learn something profound, or get reminded of it, etc. Anyway, thank you again for all that you do!
When translations leave out the Blood, I reject them.
Exactly right.. and that includes preachers.
I grew up hearing the KJV had to say about Jesus. Mom and Dad bought me a Good News version for when I was a teen. But when I graduated from HS I asked for a NASB version as I had heard that it was a direct translation from the original Aramaic and Greek text. I agree that there are translations that have been used as a vehicle for weird ideas. Our church uses the CVS but I am sticking to these two.
They are writing a lot of bibles to confuse people and some of them are written by atheist so you really got to be careful
I came to Christ on my NIV study Bible with Hebrew and Greek translations. It helped me understand more clearly. I’m tired of hearing that KJV is the only way to read God’s Word.

@@kdeh21803I grew up reading the JKV in church, but they mysteriously switched over to the Never Inspired Version. The Dying Bible, the Message, NKJV, Amplified, NASB, and the others you mentioned were included in multi Bible books. I heard enough about the CEV and CSB, to pass on them. I understand the ESB has critical passages from the Dead Sea Scrolls. What I’ve touched upon the the Jerusalem Bible looked good, but I wanted something that was available to the masses.
Although I was confirmed, it didn’t prepare me for the outside world. I experimented, and although I thought it was a joke, I went to a Kingdom Hall with a co-worker. I didn’t know how bad I was hooked, until another friend took two hours to deprogram me. He asked me, “Who’s speaking at Acts 13:2?” I had to be true to myself and others and answer, the Holy Spirit. That’s when I saw, that the NWT was a malevolent comic book, and that the Holy Spirit was not a force or floating brain.

Pastor respectfully the New King James Version leaves out Scripture. NKJV is NOT Accurate. NLT is also, a Bible that leaves out Scripture. The NIV leaves OUT 6,000 Scripture Verses. The only Bible that is accurate is the King James Version. It is the Only Bible from the Correct Source. It has power, hidden words spoken by the Holy Spirit and though people think it's too hard to read it is written at 5-6th grade level. People need to know the Bible is HOLY. Read KJV.
Wow!
Exactly right! KJV is the easiest and most enjoyable to read.. and most accurate
I’m sensing a lot of bias here. KJV is far from easy to read or understand. And how did you come up with the 5-6th grade reading level? 🤔
@@MomentsDivine It is the Bible. It is written in the King’s language.
It is the inspired Word of God. You can hear a verse and you have practically memorized it. When it was more exclusively used, it was as if we all spoke the same language. It doesn’t fall flat. It and it alone produces faith, thus the reason for some people’s shallowness in their rejection if It.
It is the Bible. It is not a version. It is the Holy Bible.
The niv has so many missing verse and replaced words
NIV is missing no verses at all. However if you compare it to the King James and the Translations based on King James it does not include everything that the KJV has. But the King James is not the original Bible in the least. The NIV went past KJV and straight to the source. You see, you got it backwards. King James has added verses. Look up "niv missing verses" and read for your self how over 100 Biblical scholars went straight to the source and translated the Bible into modern day English. A good in-between NIV and KJV is the ESV which also went straight to the source and sure enough happens to be "missing" the exact same verses.
@@gtrmusic69 NIV has many missing verses, the context is a bit distorted also, some verses also says very different compared to the original scripture. NIV is one of the false bible out there
Just what I was sharing. I think also - repentance is missing. Either way, I read the King James and occasionally New King James. The passage which talks about casting down imaginations in the KJV, states 'casting down arguments' in the NKJ.
I cherish the KJV. But I need a newer translation for some phrases in the KJV. There are just times I simply cannot figure out what's being said, and I have been familiar with the KJV for most of my life. It's a relief to see understandable language for a phrase in a familiar psalm that has a puzzling phrase or two. I will always greatly value the KJV in general, and I would be thrilled if I did not need help with a phrase now and then. Example, " my goodness extendeth not to Thee" was a KJV phrase I never could grasp until I looked at one of the valid 20th century translations.
Did you say that they removed Jesus Christ from John 14:26 with the Holy spirit (or comforter)? I checked it with a printed version of the KJV and The NKJV and they both say, "_But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."_ Also the PDF version!
Good morning Jonathon. You said; "Have you tried any Bible study courses?"
The *BEST* Bible study course is _reading_ the Bible. Which is exactly what ChaplainK is doing.
"Bible study courses" are denominational. And prove the old axiom *You can make the Bible say anything if you TORTURE it long enough"

The best way to find the answer to that question is to put away your Bible Study Courses. And start at Genesis 1.1 and read until you reach Rev 22.21.

If you do that, you will get your EXACT answer. And I know what it will be.
"has it been changed by God?" You will get an extremely clear answer to that, as well.

There are absolutely translations that are not appropriate, however language is a complex thing. In ALL languages there all types of “shades” of meaning to words and phrases, depending on the context. This is further complicated, by translating from the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. Add to that that living languages change & evolve. So a translation from 1500 years ago has words that we don’t use anymore or use differently. One of the things that is not preached enough is to read the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit for revelation of what is being read, then meditate, and WAIT for His revelation. Also the different versions can be helpful of gaining additional insight. Many times I will read a passage in the KJV, ESV, NASB, and Amplified version(s). We also need to realize that some versions are paraphrased, which are not as reliable. A true scholar should look at multiple versions to see shades of meaning, and more importantly that that pray that the Holy Spirit will give revelation. Also reading and understanding the Bible is a lifelong marathon, not a sprint. We should be patient with the Lord to reveal His word to us in His time, and not be in a rush to fake an understanding. Seek Him and His Word and He will be faithful to reveal His truth to you.
*"A true scholar should look at multiple versions to see shades of meaning...."* What are you, some kind of pinko commie? As someone else in this thread said, if it ain't the KJV, it ain't the bible. (sarc.)
I have a question, you mentioned that the CEV incorrectly translated John 14:26, changes Jesus to the Holy Spirit.
