"Glee" is definitely my favourite musical show. Yes, it was campy and cheesy, but still holds a special place in my heart.

Glee cheesy, campy? You don't say. Other than the music I think it being cheesy and campy was one of the main draws of the show. I miss glee.
"Julie and the Phantoms" is my favorite. It's so full of heartwarming moments, relatable characters, and amazing songs. We all love it so much, but Netflix cancelled it because they don't care about their good shows, they only care about their bad shows, and it seems like Netflix hates "Julie and the Phantoms" for no reason. But I'm sure it's not too late to save the show. We must rise up against Netflix and make it get a second season.

Julie and the Phantoms great show!! Such a talented cast. Singing, playing own instruments, writing one of the songs and acting. They can do it all and do it very well. It was up for many awards including many Emmys. Would love to see it continue.

I was a little disappointed there was no mention of Adam Schlesinger who wrote or co-wrote every song from the show. Often with Rachel Bloom.
It's so good, I came to the list expecting it to be an honorable mention, but yeah they should have mentioned Adam Schlesinger, the absolute legend. 💜
amber riley is a powerhouse. she gave me chills just watching her belt out in that whitehouse clip. we need her in more musicals/movie musicals!

Galavant!!! That show absolutely deserved to get a 3rd season just for the opening song. It was spectacular! The songs are catchy as hell.
Julie and The Phantoms!!! My heart belongs to that show. The cast is so unbelievably talented it’s mesmerizing. I’ve seen the show countless times and it never fails to bring me to tears with its beautiful songs and inspirational story. The show has it all and it deserves everything and more. I’m so angry it was canceled and I’m really hoping Netflix brings it back IMMEDIATELY. It deserves nothing but love.
Julie and the Phantoms is number one in my heart. I still hold a grudge to Netflix on cancelling it and I’m hoping for Disney+ to pick it up for a second season. This show is not only great, it’s inspirational and uplifting to those in their darkest time, especially since this came out during Covid. Netflix is an idiot to drop it, and even allow a new show that was almost identical to the concept of this show. It deserves a second season, and I’m not giving up until it does.

Can we get galavant on Disney plus and make it relevant again it’s so underrated also that’s cool that HSMTMTS gets to be glee for the modern era and now Disney owns both

I miss galavant that show was freaking awesome I still listen to some of the songs to this day
I was so sad when Zoey’s was canceled. I really love that show but for more than just the amazing cast and great soundtrack. What Zoey goes through of struggling with her father’s illness and then losing him, I’ve never seen anything like it on tv and I was going through something similar at the time it was airing. I love this show so much for how I could actually see myself and something so personal that I was going through portrayed on the screen. Also, team Max!
The show's creator lost his father to the same disease as Zoey's father did. It was incredibly heartfelt largely because it was the true story of the guy who wrote it.

How did Nashville not get a mention it’s by far one of my most favourite musical shows ever. Plus it got 6 seasons and the music actually broke into the billboard charts so it obviously had some wow factor.
I will forever be mad that they didn’t renew Julie and the Phantoms 😭

I loved anytime the Jester sang. The recap song in season 2 is my favorite song in the whole show

Clicked with the thought "If CXG isn't on the list..." and yes, it's right where it needs to be! That show made the world better for so many of us. Hell, I shared it with my therapist! It is impossible to overstate how important it was to hear "...because you just had an abortion!" or "a diagnosis!" or "I didn't want to die, I just wanted the pain to stop" on my television. Plus I've never seen a musical use the genres of the musical numbers as effectively as CXG did, actually adding to the songs' meanings. It's perfection, and yeah, I'm due for a rewatch, because life doesn't make narrative sense.
Flight of the Conchords was such an excellent show. I love their sense of humor and the song were subtle and funny.
Glee is the best musical tv show and will forever be one of my favorite shows. I love Julie and the Phantoms and hate that they canceled it on a cliffhanger.

Galavant only aired over two Januarys on Sundays, with back to back episodes to cover that part of OUAT’s break. Then it was random stuff in February before the Oscars. OUAT only spent one more season on Sundays before it was moved to Fridays for its final season. Getting that third season would’ve been nice but it would’ve been an even bigger miracle
Worst still, it didn't make it to the UK, despite its predominantly British cast....
@@Rtotalmagic I spent much of the last nearly two years agonizing that Galavant was in streaming limbo after leaving Netflix at the same time as Once Upon a Time. OUAT moved to Disney+, but Galavant didn’t. Turned out it was on Hulu for probably the entire time I was agonizing

Recently binge watched Schmigadoon and it was AMAZING can’t wait for the second season…..but also this really needs to be said…JUSTICE FOR STAR!!!! It was such an AMAZING show and it still hurts that it got canceled 😭

So glad that Smash! got a shout-out. The stories were kind of iffy, but the actors were amazing and the songs were the best. My first exposure to original songs via TV and I still listen to them with love. Totally support the 1 and 2 spots-- great shows. Did not realize how consistently musical tv shows only last 2 seasons...
It had real broadway stars. It was exciting to see who would show up.

I was scrolling to see if anyone saw it other than me. 😁 I had a major disruption of my real life then, and I found it very entertaining. Sometimes, I have wondered if my poor brain made up the memory just as an ultimate escape.
I loved Cop Rock. It was just ahead of it's time.

I watched this solely to see if Galavant got the credit it deserves, I'm still sad we never got a third season (though honestly we're lucky it even got a second season)

Couldn't have been anything BUT CXG with at least two ORIGINAL songs per episode, which weren't only perfect but also tied in perfectly with the episode while each parodied a different genre. The amount of work and creativity that went into every single episode for four seasons still baffles me.
Great to see Galavant on the list, it's underrated. And I'm surprised Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist scored that high. While I enjoyed the show I hardly thought of it as a masterpiece.

Schmigadoon was amazing! I hated the final episode, but most of the show was amazing.

I would put "Glee" at the top, followed by "HSM:TM:TS", "Julie and the Phantoms", "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist", "Katy Keene" and "Schmigadoon!".
Though "HSM:TM:TS", "Julie and the Phantoms" and "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" are pretty much equal to me.
I haven't seen any of the other shows [yet], so It can't rank them.

Empire should've officially made the list.
And also "Star" should be on the list or at least a mention. It was another show on FOX made by Lee Daniels starring Queen Latifah and Ryan Destiny. It later had a crossover with Empire. Plus the show is better than Empire in my opinion because it written more like a teen drama vs Empire's soap opera drama. And it has WAY better songs that I still listen to today.
