You tricked me with the Zoeys extraordinary playlist I thought The Mandy Moore, the actor/singer was the chores but no no no it was a Producer for the the show that shares the same name and spelling.
I miss "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist", it had a unique premise, and balanced grief and musical comedy very well. At least it was able to wrap things up, and the dance numbers were always fun.
Is crazy I never wanted to watch that show. I watched the first episode and almost cried like a baby with the storyline of her dad. I was not ready for all the feels 🥹
I starting watching about a month before my Dad had a heart attack, resulting in a triple bypass (all while we were stuck at home during lockdown.) Those feelings of terror and impending grief are still too real and I just CAN'T will myself to watch that show again (as much I enjoyed it.)
I only found out about the show being canceled after Roku had recommended me the final TV movie. It was a Christmas musical set before the final season, but it was still the last episode. Which is a shame because I really loved all the cast, as each had their own memorable moments.
Once More with Feeling was an actual fricken gift and they delivered it so well, being clear that none of them were singers. It was incredibly well done.
I would have gone with "They got the Musterd Ouuuuuuuut" from Buffy, since it is both a hilarious gag and the actual inspiration behind the aforementioned "Suits" music number..
No one ever talks about the Xena musical episodes. Those are the REAL gold standard. The Bitter Suite was amazing, and Lyre, Lyre Hearts on Fire was campy brilliance. And Lucy Lawless can fucking SING.
I would have moved Zoey a lot farther than no.10. The choreography was so phenomenal that I replayed it many times. Like others here, I really miss it.
I am surprised Lucifer wasn't on the list. I am not surprised Xena wasn't on the list, but it should have been! Lucy Lawless could really sing, and their infrequent dance numbers were generally pretty strange...
Galavant deserved more than just 2 seasons & I will forever hate ABC for cancelling it....also worthy of an honorable mention is Kylie Minogue's guest-starring part on Galavant singing "Off With His Shirt" oh, and Deke singing his own slightly altered rendition of "Don't You Forget About Me" in the final season of Agents of SHIELD needs a mention.
I think that Ally McBeal- The first, the last my everything with Barry White as a guest on several shows should have made the list. Not to mention Glee🙋♀️
I feel like it was a tragedy not to include "I Surrender" (the Bollywood number from "Legends of Tomorrow" S4E11 "Seance and Sensibility"). They did a number of great musical numbers on the CW DC Universe shows, but that one was, by far, the most amazingly over-the-top and so much fun.
Nah, Walk Through The Fire. "I touch the Fire, and it freezes me... I look into it, and it's black. Why Can't I feel? My skin should crack and peel. I want the fire back!"
I watched Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and I’ll say every musical number is pretty extraordinary. I wonder if there is going to be any more. I mean there is a lot of music in the world. There is even popular Disney songs. It would be great to explore more of the characters and more songs.
Some great choices here! Galavant is one of my all time favorites, but Zoey is pretty up there. I had forgotten the number in Pushing Daisies though! I'll have to go watch it now!
I'm a simple woman, I see Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist I click I agree and me and my older sister love Zoey's extraordinary playlist Although I totally agree with Julie and the phantoms the other side of Hollywood
How is the musical episode of Flash and Supergirl not on the list. Best musical episode I've ever seen. The vocalists on those shows are amazing, 3 glee cast members, several broadway stars...
Two musical numbers that come to the top of my head that weren't meantioned here: "Come on, Get happy" from House, when House's boss Cuddy needs to go into surgery, she is put under anaesthetic, leading to Hugh Laurier performing a great original musical number that sticks in your head The Drew Carey Show: There seemed to be one almost every other season, but the biggest ones that stuck with me are "Five O'clock World" and "Time warp vs Groovething". Each one they did though always seemed to go over the top and enjoyable Another one that wasn't specifically a dance number, but was a singing performance was from Netflix's Series of Unfortunate Events, at the end of the the first season, featuring Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Walburton's baritone and the other actors singing just how bad stories can go
As always, thank you so very much for the video. (Now I'm going to go re-watch several of these, which I of course own. (All of Galavant, and 'that' episode of Buffy. Plus I'm gonna add Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. 😄)
There are so many times in the series Lucifer that Tom Ellis sings along with some of the other cast members, but Season 5 episode 16 when they sing and dance to Queen's Another One Bites the Dust. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I liked some of your picks, most esp’ly your #1 spot w NPH where you speak the truth, never ever is it a bad thing to pick a song w NPH!! But I thought some shows were missing: Lucifer: many many songs - there is an entire episode devoted to music called the Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam (s5, ep 10) - other songs may be better, but a favorite of mine is when Dan sings Hell after learning that God is not all forgiving, is quite jealous when it comes to his wife. I’d like to pick the one beginning s4,ep10 (I’m Alright) when Lucifer starts off at his club and then just dances into the station. But really you could pick any one of them! Glee- obviously, the show glorifies music so keeping it off is a huge kick in the pants, so to speak. Even if you thought the show went downhill, the first season was sensational, and you could choose either Rachel’s glorious DWOMP or Jesse’s awesome Bohemian Rhapsody that basically wraps up the Regionals. I could name many more but I won’t. During Chicago Hope, Adam Arkin suffers a brain trauma and the show does a musical - like Lucifer, s5, ep10. Don’t recall the name of the show but it’s the same idea as what Lucifer does later (indeed, I’m giving the wrong show the original thought, albeit I’m certain Chicago Hope got it from another show). It truly was an amazing episode. However, my memory of Mandy Patinkin singing during Chicago Hope centers on the kids so apparently that was The Emperor’s New Clothes ( any time he opened his mouth was a joy to hear!) Then there’s the House vaudeville dream sequence of Get Happy when Cuddy needs him to be with her. (That would be Hugh Laurie’s roots right there!) And just bc I’m thinking about them, two shows that were about music (similar to Glee in a vague sense) are The Partridge Family, where I Think I Love You was a personal favorite and The Monkees, where my favorites have changed over the years but right now it’s Randy Scouse Git. At the time these shows were on, I thought the world revolved around them, so the best songs they produced were, to me, totally over the top. You may feel differently. But since I mentioned NPH at the beg and the show Glee, I thought I should also say that his duet of Dream On was simply spectacular!! And lastly (really I’ll shut up) for Scrubs, so much was fun, funny, musical, great but I really liked Guy Love and the acapella Cartoon songs (Underdog?) with Dr. Cox.
In my opinion, the last episode of Warehouse 13 with 42nd Street is one of the best out there. I was amused to ❤❤ see CopRock come up. I kinda thought it'd be on the list, somewhere. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
To be fair, the Magicians went hard on pretty much every song they did across the seasons! All that hard glossy armour songs live rent-free in my head at the most random times and i can no longer listen to Take on me the same way since.
The first season of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist was great. It should have ended there though. Even if the 2nd season had been really good, it couldn't have justified the season 1 finale NOT being the ending. It had a perfect ending.
There was an episode of Grey’s anatomy in which almost all the characters burst into a song at some point. I thought it was more than a little silly and definitely over the top. Why was there nothing about that on this list?
Facts. Xena had musical episodes way ahead of other shows. Plus the Hercules musical/dance episode "And Fancy Free" was *chef's kiss*. "One Dinar a Dance" from "Greece is Burning" lives rent-free in my head...
There's more than enough out there to make another top ten. Heck, even DS9 had a singing hologram. Not sure it's over the top, but worth an honorable mention, no?
Once more with feeling is one of my favorite Buffy episodes of all time, but there were many numbers in that episode that were way more over the top than "Something to Sing About." That song was the climax of the show, yes, and the entire plot hinged on Buffy revealing how unhappy she was, but in terms of the actual music, dancing, costumes, etc. it's sort of a lackluster number, especially when you compare it to the classic musical style of Xander and Anya's "I'll Never Tell," or Spike's Rock and Roll number, or even some of the full cast numbers like "Walk Through the Fire" or "I've Got A Theory." The fact that Spike is the one who stops Buffy from burning feels somewhat disgenuine and out of place, especially since Buffy's problems aren't really resolved in this moment. It only delays her inevitable breaking point with Spike being the person who breaks her. The episode ends abruptly shortly after that song without really acknowledging the deeply emotional message that the song portrays, which further takes away from the actual issue that the song sought to address and making the entire thing feel like a fleeting moment rather than the entire premise for what sets off the entire rest of the season. What should have been the climax of the show ultimately falls short of fulfilling its purpose.
I don’t understand how the Drew Carey Show didn’t make it with the competing drag numbers. And where are any of the musical numbers from The Magicians? I demand a recount!
I wish George Michael’s Faith performance in the pilot of ABC’s ELI STONE could have gotten at least an honorable mention. That performance lived rent-free in my brain for years. The great One Indescribable Podcast is rewatching the series. Highly recommend if you miss Zoey's
Once More with Feeling was an actual fricken gift and they delivered it so well, being clear that none of them were singers. It was incredibly well done.
Oh how I loved Galavant. I love when songs pop up on my playlist
I used to sing Joxer the Mighty constantly
Lucy Lawless' voice was indeed extraordinary.
Loved Buffy's Once More with Feeling, especially because without it many of these other shows would never have done a musical episode.
Yeah me to, lucifer had a few great ones, it didn’t need to just be mostly comedy on here
Agree
For some reason I think they wanted mostly comedy
Carlton and Jones' duet singing "It's Not Unusual" is one of my absolute favorite moments in _The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air._
Galavant was a brilliant show! I also loved the musical episode of Once Upon a Time!
“Off With His Shirt”from Galavant was the most over the top of all the songs! Still have it on my DVR!
Where's Julie and the Phantoms? The song "The Other Side of Hollywood" was so over the top and amazing!
Crazy-Ex Girlfriend is so, so good.
No Once Upon A Time, A Song in Your Heart episode, not even a mention.
Under Santa Barbara Skies and/or I’ve Heard It Both Ways from Psych would be absolutely perfect for this list 😂
I needed like 6 seasons of Galavant, loved every minute
I can't believe that Once Upon a Time, The Song in Your Heart is not on this list!
Also Revenge Is Gonna Be Mine
@@bubbajoshproductions3990 Or just any song from that episode.
Awwwwwww I miss Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist!! & Galavant!! Ahhhhh such great shows!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
Galavant deserved more than just 2 seasons & I will forever hate ABC for cancelling it....also worthy of an honorable mention is Kylie Minogue's guest-starring part on Galavant singing "Off With His Shirt"
oh, and Deke singing his own slightly altered rendition of "Don't You Forget About Me" in the final season of Agents of SHIELD needs a mention.
I think that Ally McBeal- The first, the last my everything with Barry White as a guest on several shows should have made the list. Not to mention Glee🙋♀️
How about Eli Stone? Full broadway style versions of George Michael songs. They are so much fun!
I forgot about that show. It wasn't bad at all. I think the time it was out people were not ready for the TV shows that had singing in it tho
@@cececierra5294 loved it
That show deserved more time ❤
@@keatsshelleykeats yrs it was cut off mid 2 season
Literally the first thing I thought of when I saw the name of the video was Galavant. Glad it was the first clip in the intro
Glad to see Galavant recognized but I was hoping to also see Eli Stone pop up in there.
cxg, galavant and zoey are def my facorite tv musicals
I personally really enjoyed Psych's "I've Heard It Both Ways"
Supernatural episode "fan fiction" those kids were awesome
Their Wayward Son was hauntingly good.
Loved Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist as well as Galavant!!
Last year when I was listening to a random playlist on my Spotify. That opening song from Galavant came up. I totally forgot that series existed
i am a huge fan of scrubs.... and i just want to say his name is not Johnathan doris it is Johnathan dorian... jd for short..
I'm certain Cox called him Doris at least once...
Buffy is a great show for this list, but I would have chosen "I'll never tell" for the representative song.
True !
Nah, Walk Through The Fire. "I touch the Fire, and it freezes me... I look into it, and it's black. Why Can't I feel? My skin should crack and peel. I want the fire back!"
One of favorites but I've got a feeling was such a good start.
im so glad corn puddin was included in this top 10!!! schmigadoon season 1 is so extra and i love it
Speaking of "How I Met Your Mother", Robin Sparkles should have been at least mentioned.
Buffy Musical should have been number 1 😤
I knew Schmigadoon was gonna be on this list
Put a little love in your heart from the flash and supergirl crossover
Shmigadoon
I watched Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and I’ll say every musical number is pretty extraordinary. I wonder if there is going to be any more. I mean there is a lot of music in the world. There is even popular Disney songs. It would be great to explore more of the characters and more songs.
I agree I want another season
Sadly I don't think so. They said the Christmas was the last, and it did wrap things up. If you haven't seen it, go find it!
glee over the top any scene danny's envision of daughter stephanie getting on broadway full house basically any disney channel show has this too
Some great choices here! Galavant is one of my all time favorites, but Zoey is pretty up there. I had forgotten the number in Pushing Daisies though! I'll have to go watch it now!
I'm a simple woman, I see Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist I click

I was looking for this comment!
What about I surrender from DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow?
I would say Some nights in Glee for one of them.
I was shocked they didn't mention Glee!

"Come on, Get happy" from House, when House's boss Cuddy needs to go into surgery, she is put under anaesthetic, leading to Hugh Laurier performing a great original musical number that sticks in your head

Things missing from this list:
- Drew Carey Show - The Brotherhood of Men
Crazy Ex Girlfriend was MADE for this list! ❤
“Life has been good to me” on 3rd Rock from the Sun.
As always, thank you so very much for the video.
(Now I'm going to go re-watch several of these, which I of course own. (All of Galavant, and 'that' episode of Buffy. Plus I'm gonna add Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. 😄)
We need a season 3 of Zoey's playlist and galavant
There's the Christmas special of Zoey on Roku. I thought the choreography for We Need a Little Christmas as amazing!
Amen.
There are so many times in the series Lucifer that Tom Ellis sings along with some of the other cast members, but Season 5 episode 16 when they sing and dance to Queen's Another One Bites the Dust. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Buffy! ❤🎉
Number one lives number one rent free in my mind

CJ performing The Jackal on The West Wing is easily iconic enough for this list, especially given the original story of the bit.
I was actively thinking of how disappointed I’d be if #1 was #1. It pales in comparison to so many others.
Corn Puddin is hella catchy even tho it's not hella important to the plot but it sure is fun
Missed "Life has been good to me" from 3rd Rock. Epic.
I'm surprised John Oliver's Last Week Tonight number on SLAPP suits didn't make it on the list. It came out of nowhere and joyfully escalated quickly.
For me Grey’s Anatomy, Once upon a time and the Flash were missing on that list
Needed to see the supernatural and Lucifer musical episodes
Another honorable mention or on the list should have been "Life has been good to me" from 3rd Rock from the Sun.
The umbrella academy with footloose 👌
In my opinion, the last episode of Warehouse 13 with 42nd Street is one of the best out there. I was amused to ❤❤ see CopRock come up. I kinda thought it'd be on the list, somewhere. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Warehouse 13!
"Superfriends" from THE FLASH/SUPERGIRL crossover is a missing honourable mention
Please someone send Miss Mojo a copy of Psych. They are always excluded from these playlists
"I Want To Be Sedated" as sung by the cast of The Magicians. I now want to cast spells with that song!
It had a perfect ending.
once again everyone forgets about Xena being the first to do a musical episode
Music from kiff and moon girl and devil dinosaur
Please do a part two
Raven’s home musical episode
None of the "Magicians" numbers made the list? Any one of them could have gotten an honorable mention.
There was an episode of Grey’s anatomy in which almost all the characters burst into a song at some point. I thought it was more than a little silly and definitely over the top. Why was there nothing about that on this list?
You totally missed all the brilliant musical numbers from the Drew Carey show!!
This is the second TV musical episode, and still no love for either Xena musical episodes. Do you hate Xena or something?
Thats what i said. The first Xena musical was amazing and the second one quirky. They just dont know good tv show musicals
@Kim schuler At least The Bitter Suite soundtrack was available for purchase. I love the Buffy musical episode but couldn't find the soundtrack.
Facts. Xena had musical episodes way ahead of other shows. Plus the Hercules musical/dance episode "And Fancy Free" was *chef's kiss*. "One Dinar a Dance" from "Greece is Burning" lives rent-free in my head...
What was the first musical tv episode? Xena was 1999 and I remember buffy in 2001
Nothing from Eli Stone?
I was surprised too. Amazing show, gone too soon.
I really think “Santa Barbra Skies” from Psych’s musical episode is amazing
That 70s show's musical episode was perfectly woven into the storyline. And song choices were great reflection of music of the times.
Perfect!
There's more than enough out there to make another top ten.
Heck, even DS9 had a singing hologram. Not sure it's over the top, but worth an honorable mention, no?
NPH kills no matter what he does. Suits is Broadway, Tony award opener, chefs kiss.
You know, I'd managed to block out that Cop Rock existed. Thanks for reminding me.
How did Jane the Virgin not make this? Not even an honorable mention.
10:12 musical audience in general not just broadway
Wow…nothing from the Drew Cary show? There were so many great numbers
Once more with feeling is one of my favorite Buffy episodes of all time, but there were many numbers in that episode that were way more over the top than "Something to Sing About." That song was the climax of the show, yes, and the entire plot hinged on Buffy revealing how unhappy she was, but in terms of the actual music, dancing, costumes, etc. it's sort of a lackluster number, especially when you compare it to the classic musical style of Xander and Anya's "I'll Never Tell," or Spike's Rock and Roll number, or even some of the full cast numbers like "Walk Through the Fire" or "I've Got A Theory." The first season of Galavant was awesome.
Psych musical one of the many songs should have been on the list!
I want the old Msmojo voices back. Emily, Phoebe, Amanda.
I will continue to be pissed until the end of time that Galavant and Zoey were cancelled.
(GM was a recurring character in 4 episodes of season one.
If you guys can dig up Cop Rock, you can freaking dig up Eli Stone!!!
You should have used the Off With His Shirt number in the Enchanted Forest number from Galavant
Every songs by S Club 7 from S Club 7 in miami, in LA and in hollywood
The two greatest ever musical numbers on TV are: "Bob Murray Can Eat S***" from John Oliver Last Week Tonight, and "Negrotown" from Key & Peele.
Was expecting Xena’s The Bitter Suite on this list.
I was so afraid that you would forget nothing suits me like a suit. An honorable mention I would also have the story from Grey’s Anatomy.
It’s a crime that Xena’s “The Bitter Suite” didn’t make the list. 😡
Not even an honorable mention for "The Magicians?" They had a few over-the-top musical numbers that were outstanding. Also, Glee? Wasn't every single one of their numbers over-the-top? LOL
great video
