BONUS TIPS: If you're shopping for shoes to use, bring the battery pack (or something about the same size) with you. Try the shoes on, then place the battery pack inside the shoe. Then you will be able to tell whether or not the shoes will work for this project! Not all shoes will work!
And if you want to use shoes with real bendy soles, just put the lights around the back of the shoe, because then the lights won't get stressed around the point where your foot bends! [see here: • Blinkschuhe Tutorial f... for an example]

yes we watcht the video to
ha ha
emilly hi good
i know :D ;)
+Eline Wille your profile pic omg
For all those saying she could have just bought the $34 pair, its called a hobby. Some people just enjoy doing things for fun or for the challenge. Plus, with this DIY, you can choose whatever style of shoes you like, colour of light etc. so much you can customise to your liking. And you gain satisfaction from making it yourself too. (Its like how some people enjoy baking even though the cost of the ingredients is higher than buying a cake from a bakery)
Oh thank you, I feel like nobody gets that haha, the amount of times I've tried to explain... (And also been perplexed about why people are even watching crafting tutorials if they don't like to craft...) ❤️
Forgive me for not reading through 3,000 comments, but hopefully this shows up for anyone who wants to make them: you can get LED strips like this that pull apart at the joins instead of being cut; that might be a good solution for people who have a strong bend in their shoes from where they walk. (You'd just end up reconnecting the LEDs, rather than replacing them.)
Makes me just want to but the led light strip to see what and where I can stick it in.. Seems fun lol
i was just thinking that.
yeah
yea u can put it on other clothing or something
P.s. if you're thinking that you'd actually like to make these for yourself, then please watch until the end of the video AND make sure to read the tips in description box! :)
I'm definitely going to try
Can you please make a belle Diy costume. Where she's in her maiden blue outfit
And maybe tinker bell
+Annika Victoria Annika!! can you please try to make one of these? sg.carousell.com/p/25344706/
+Annika Victoria Does it get uncomfortable having the battery pack in the tongue? The pack looked kinda big :/
Whoa... This almost has one million views??! Awesome! Thank you all so much for watching :D ❤️
Congrats Annika~ ^^
Thank you so much! I'm going o make some of your things for a secret Santa thing!
can you make m some for a late Christmas gift plzz I wear a 7 low top plzz and plzz reply was soon as possible
+Annika Victoria no thank YOU for your videos!
+Annika Victoria If anyone's looking for a pair of these one the low, they can be found on amazon now for 15$ I think. I'll try find the link or something. I remember I got mine from this site where you just enter a competition, must have been a lucky find at the time.
EDIT: Oh damn, this sites still around. It was from here: 8026.freeledsneakers.com/ lemme know if it allows you to enter.

reminds me if my MySpace days lol
True lol
all of the people saying that you can get them for $30 or cheaper: those shoes most likely were made in a sweatshop or something like it and she's said before in videos that she doesn't want to support something like that
These remind me of the shoes we all loved as kids, when you step down, they light up?!?!? Remember those?!
+Jessicaisrealawesome NEXT PROJECT. ;) Just gotta get good at electronics first somehow, haha.
Shoes- $10
Lights -10+10 = $20 ( 2 lights )
10+20= $30
eBay shoes = $35
$ 5 won't hurt
+SMILE NUTELLA It's not just about the $$ cost to the consumer.
It's about not supporting sweatshops, upcycling things you already own & having less of an impact on the environment. Plus crafting for crafts sake. Coz this is a DIY channel.
+Annika Victoria I i know and I admire you for making these shoes but considering the others who don't craft but expect the shoes to be pricey so they force themselves to make them . Just because they like these . I was pointing out that if you don't want to make these because maybe you are not crafty , they are just a little less than the actual shoe price , trust me I wasn't saying it in a negative way:)
+Annika Victoria the point of these videos is to say whether it would be better from a budget stand point to make thrift or buy. and yes the five dollars won't hurts so really why not just buy them. the ethical reasons are a whole other issue.
eBay I'd actually biding, so if someone offers more, then it will be theirs ( if its a normal persons sale) but if its from the a solid factory, then they will automatically sell it to you but they can cost up to $65 and more, this was so cheap compared to ebay
+Da Mystery Gal on the video it said $35-$95 and on eBay I saw them for $30
I really need a pair of these. I'm in the marching band at my school and these would be perfect for parades.
Zuzu Gaston I love how you say it. in my mind I think you say in high pitch voice and I would be like "omg what is that girl with that light shoes" in high pitch voice and hand on my mouth
Similar lead up shoes in the dark we will say where she's we want show we do you have a picture for we can search for she's we want please Sarah glitter So you nothing 7 light of
"what's inside" actually cut open a pair of these shoes and those are pretty much the lights they use 👍
Ok, so this all cost you about $40? You can get these in other stores for around $30 or less ... I have more own pair, which I spent about $24 on
This is really cool though :)
What? Where? I just bought them, and in The Netherlands it costs €90,00
+Florence John Echague that's so true I like em so much but there so pricie in the Netherlands
Inge Bakker I know right? It's because of VAT (of wat we btw noemen)
But it's still pricey, I agree
+Florence John Echague jep te duur
I don't get the comments on this video tbh... Some say the shoes look bad and don't work, others keep pointing out you can get these for cheaper. Yeah. Hi. Have you realized that getting shoes for $20 is always a bad idea. They'll most likely be horrendous quality and break pretty quickly. At least with this diy you won't have to throw the shoes away when the lights stop working.
+BlackDiamondGirl Gaming What if they were made by child workers or overseas by illegal sweat shops? Basically you're rallying for slave labor.. Sometimes it's better to just make it yourself
Thank you someone said it
+Jem the Bee Thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I do dislike child labor a lot, but the thing is we don't know who makes these shoes. You can't just bring in a serious topic like that i just makes you sound stupid. People don't have the time to make shoes, people are way to lazy to shoes. Maybe if somebody does try to make this they might fail so they could have lost money. Plus if this person buys shoes that means they basically support child labor, thats so dumb. +BlackDiamondGirl Gaming probably wasn't even thinking about child labor so don't accuse someone of supporting something.
+La Fimoteuse Qui Craft scuse me, in wich page did u buy them? And how long was the sipping?
Mine cos 18 I've had them for 2 months and they still work perfectly fine and waterproof
Watching the old classic videos and pretending like they are still around on UA-cam. Fond memories
It's like thread banger
yaaaaasssss
yaahh
+Cuddly Kohnnie but much better
😂💙✨ best comment so fat 💜💖
far* ❤️💞😭
I think its better just buy the shoes :D Its easier and it looks better.
Sarah Velez OMG PPL THEY ARE NOT THAT FUDGING CHEAP they cost like 30-40and up ( see what I did there, fudging?😉😉😂😂😂😂)
you are right but making them makes them more valuable.
Exactly
+Reaper chan on ebay
+Sus0220 Not for me, since i wear size 13 shoes and I can't find any in my size
this is my first time watching her and i subsribed she is awesome
Ikr! This is my first video I've watched of hers and now I'm addicted to her videos!
right

I spent £70+ on these shoes online, after a few wears, the battery stopped working in one shoe, I requested another battery and the battery came from China although the company was British. The shoes stopped working only after under 10 wears, thank god I subscribed to you because now I can re-make these shoes. And I'm getting more and more fashion ideas
Even though they're the same price as the ebay shoes, if/when the lights break you's have to buy a whole new pair of shoes but with these you only have to replace the lights
Buy for sure... She spent the same amount of money and they broke... And they don't look as good, plus the battery pack looks like it is uncomfortable
Yeah and the batteries don't look so good when you're wearing it...
You can probably get the LEDs cheaper if you have half a clue about wires.
Hello I don't know what you are talking bout me when you call my phone and text you call my name and say hey I got it wrong lol but I got it no one
The shoes you buy and make look the same, also doesn’t have to be high tops, plus both have a ugly bat pack and leds are known to die out easily
I have just discovered your channel 2 hours ago and now im on a diy marathon :) LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
You m'lady just got yerself a new subscriber (;
*tips fedora*
+Pinkkk3 I'm
+Pinkkk3 true
+Pinkkk3 lol
Would not do this project because the idea of batteries sucks. I really like the original desigs because its chargeable with usb cable
+Igabella I was thinking the same and wondering if you could change the battery type required. Didn't realise the actual designs have chargers.. how weird to charge your shoes :P
+Igabella get chargeable batteries lol
that is very doable with cheap modules from china-ebay. but that will require soldering skills and a basic understanding of electronics. (also LED tape isnt the best choice because, as you can see, it doesnt take repeated flexing well)
EL-wire isnt nearly as bright and wont change colors, but seems better suited for the job, and there are tiny inverters, running on a single CR2032 coin cell.
+Igabella I think they have those type of light strips. Idk

I think this is the first video I ever watched from you, thanks for inspiring me to become better at sewing
I'm absolutely in love with your channel
This channel seriously helps me so much, with so many of my cosplays! If I didn't know about this video, I would of went spending a good 200 dollars! Thank you!
its only costs 25 dollars?!
+BananaBelle
she says cosplay so she may be using this idea to install LEDs in something that are not shoes and not available on the internet
Cocokitty98 oh thx xx😊
lol thats tragic asf like what are those tho
OHHHH HE NEEDS SOME MILK!
+TinyGame Play great now I feel like drinking milk
+flori trap queen what are you
+flori trap queen relatable life comment
I love love this I work at a night club and this fun project is a sure way to earn more tips! can't wait exact video!
This is great! Thank you :)
I stumbled upon this video due to my suggestion box and boy was I not disappointed. What a great channel! Love your stuff and I hope to soon start making some of these DIYs!
+Janinakins Thank you!
YES! I never have to be jealous of a child's shoes again! #Winning
You are super smart. You make something special from something simple
4:17 yo the way she did that battery pouch was sick ❤️
I just found your channel today and I think i've watched every Make Thrift Buy already.
+MissCin101 Ohhh! thank you!! :D
You could've get one of 100 and one of 50cm because 65+65=130 lol
But they're so cool😭💖
+효화신 But i needed 2 battery packs ;)
Annika Victoria yeah but don't you get the battery pack when you order the 50cm?
+효화신 but I needed them to be 65cm, to fit around the shoe. Oh I think I know what you mean - but I didn't know how to join 2 lights together so I needed 2 battery packs, with at least 65cm each of light in both
Annika Victoria ohh, okay then. But the DIY us so cool I might make one for myself.
Omg I love your content and your sense of humor
Thanks so much. Now I can easily make these shoes - my flat feet have led to a hard time finding comfy shoes that actually look good. I can try this DIY on my old sneakers. YAY!!
i think this is so much better than the shoes with leds(the orgininal)
Yeah
Loved this. Especially at the end, when your at the grocery store. 😀
+Nita Brantley :P
omg thank you. you are so helpful, creative, resorsful and smart. love your voice btw
those shoes you bought are really sweet. for real I'd buy those and wear them every day
*Looks at comments to see "What are thoooooose"* *is disappointed*
you can get the shoes you used on the thumbnail for $25. to be honest these look rubish.
+Diogo Usami where? :O
+Gabby Peaches wish.com
Gabby Peaches UPDATE! THEY COST $16USD NOW: www.wholesalebuying.com/product/fashion-unisex-led-light-lace-up-luminous-shoes-sportswear-sneaker-casual-shoes-usb-charging-158312?
exactly!
Lol it doesn't look like rubbish.
YAS QUEEN OF DIY & THRIFTING
LOVED your dancing in the alley. You rock 🙌🏼
but the shoes look kinda bulky tho
Genius! This was so awesome Annika! I think I'll do this to a pair of flatforms! 🙌🏿 😍 🎉 xxx
Yayay! 😁
THATS SO SWEET. VERY WELL DONE! SOOOO COOL!
I had a pair of "shop-boughten" light-up shoes that were pretty cheap, as I have Aussie Size Adult 2-3, so I got them in the kid's section of Payless!!! But it looks like a fun project - Also, it's really good if you go jogging or walking at night & you're wearing dark clothes - it makes you much more visible to drivers! Plus, you look kinda nerdy-cool!
I'd rather just buy a pair for $70 on Amazon. Save time and probably money in the long run. Great video, though :)
they also have some on AliExpress for $22 bucks.
rambling corpse
Good to know :D
+rambling corpse Yeah but is it made in sweatshops? Thats too cheap so it feels like it os
Hola donde conseguiste las luces
+Gris Rodriguez en amazon o las puedes concegir en internet
I actually have a project that requires lighting that I've wanted to do for ages, seeing this makes me soo much less scared to try it
+Moggleberries Yay! What's your project? Yeah I was so intimidated too and now I want to try putting lights on allll my clothes hahaha
This is such a good idea I watched a couple other of your videos you just got a new subscriber
The cut away from music video to beans in a grocery store gave me life. Love your videos!
I love your hair ❤️
I made the battery pack into a heel
that is not good because you can damage the battery pack
i covered it with plastic
+Kimberley Crafts That is not the issue. It is from step impact, not a bad idea tho :)
+Nazifa Tabassum or you can put the battery pack inside that little hole in a heelie shoe instead and those shoes are frikkin awesome lol
+Vanellope oh thanks
this is awesome because I saw a girl in my school wearing the original and now instead of wasting so much money buying the original now I can spend about 10-15 dollars because I own tons of high tops.Thx so much for the video
I Actually have no knowledge about sewing but when I kinda learned how to do it this was actually super easy 😜 now I have amazing light up shoes! I thank you
this is so cool!
+Rian Phin omg rian we both watch her I live
Hmm..........beans.
This is 2 years old ?! Ahhh I remeber this so much ! This was the first video by you I watched, Im so glad I did !!!
this is so cool!! You are so cool because of doing this!! BRAVO!!!
wow I hope the battery pack goes a bit smaller! like.. 2AA or 2AAA, I wouldn't mind at all even if it lasts half a day than having to walk around with heavy batteries on both of my shoes!
but else than that they look awesome!!!
these are bad ass 👏👍👌🙌😍
wow that's actually pretty cool. good job!!
i saw so many videos and you were the bestest one i loved your videos
thanks:)
I love the "WHATEVER IT'S 2009" sign XD (The toadstool toad shall let you in :)
+o FuzziePeach333 o OH MY GOSH YES FINALLY SOMEONE GOT THE REFERENCE hahaha
OMG thank you so much for replying! :D Happy holidays!
I bought them for 20$ on aliexpress 😂
Me to
Did you receive them yet ? And of so how are they
+Denitsa Ivanova My friend did too, but i don't recommend though, hers broke in 5 days. :I
+Denitsa Ivanova or 1 week, I honestly don't know, ONE works and the other doesn't.
I also want these pair of shoes...how much time does it take for shipping?
wow this actually does work so awesome for you to make them.
This is amazing!!! Im totally subscribing
You should do embroidered converse/shoes!!!!!
If you're lazy like me 😂 they are $35 with free shipping on the Wish app.
Don't get me wrong, this vid was awesome. I was just letting you know that I found them for $35 on wish 😋
Yeah but if you already own the shoes it is cheaper, it allows you to spice up old shoes, and is more fun and not made by children somewhere in Asia in sweatshops
+Lucy B thank you!! ** actually gets it **
You're super smart!! Very cleverly with the battery pack! :))
I'm totally making these for the vivid festival ✨
Awesome project!!
I found shoes with that lights on Alieexpres for €25,I don't know how much it is in dollars. Very fun video!
€20,50 *
I'd be careful I've heard it's a pretty sketchy site
+Luis Garcia Yup. I once tried to buy some shirts, but it didn't have PayPal (which is one of the safest methods of online payment), but instead all kinds of weirds credit cards. I ended up not buying anything.
I ordered them for €15 and i ordered more stuff on aliexpress and they all arived
+Karlijn Scheen I know, I mean you can place orders, but you may get scammed.
I feel like this is good if you just want to DIY something with friends or for fun but if she spent $33 roughly & she already owned some of the materials plus she has to repair them it may be worth just buying the $36 ones off amazon otherwise its really cool
These are so awesome 🙌🏽
love the cool stuff you make😆
please can you show how to make a backless bra?
I've been looking into a backless dresses, but don't want to worry about the bra showing.
thinks!
Now do that to some heelys and you're the coolest kid in the world
Oh man I'm totally using this for my next cosplay!
This video was so helpful I'm going to try it out soon
wait does the battery pack thing that you did inside hurts the feet??
Actually,no.
Cause it haves the batting.
+Danijela Vujicic thank you x
+Danijela Vujicic are you from Croatia?
this is just as expensive as buying them on ebay..
SOOO TRUE
+XxWifiZonexX
Also the super cheapest ones off ebay aren't going to be very good quality.
Also if they're that cheap, the shoes are probably made in a sweatshop.
Also you're not demanding as many resources from the world (a new pair of shoes doesn't have to be made), because you're recycling something that already exists. And preventing unwanted clothes from going into
landfill.
Also, as anyone who loves to DIY knows - crafting for the sake of crafting!
There's so many reasons why this series exists other than to just "make
things for cheaper" :)
I love how you go to aldi with those wicked shoes! So awesome!
I have to say i liked this video out of all the videos keep up the good job
You quite literally light up the room when you walk in.
So sad that Rosaliesaysrawr did this diy and didn't credit you! :(
So cool! Thanks for showing us that!!!
I love your channel, after watching a few of your videos I'm already wanting to get into sewing 👍👍
i have bought those shoes from amazon, but one shoe doesnt work 😭😭
sigh... I know the pain.. I don't shop at amazon anymore because they sell fake makeup and fake everything to be honest 😅 so ya...
+
send them back
+MsPrincess0019 as long as you didn't shop from an unofficial vendor then you can return them
How long did they last? or did they come like that? because im thinking of buying some.. if you know which website, company that would be amazing 😆
omg my name is annika too
👋 hello! We're pretty rare heheh
that was an awesome demonstration girl! 😉
They look so cool
Jesus! THIS HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
your lips look like Maranda sings lips
I don't know what to say about this
+GabrielaMSiqueira no they don't. Lmao.
ig @itz_plotnumb
I want these in heels........NEON HEELS
Omg to put the lights under the heels not around them, epic shoes
:O You could even hide the battery pack underneath, in the negative space under the shoe! This could work!
+Annika Victoria do it do it do it!!
Annika Victoria Yaaaaasssss it can work!
What a brilliant craft idea, you so are so clever!! Great job on the shoes, you blow me away!
Your so talented!!! I'm soo going to give these a try!
Did anyone else think she could've got the 120 one of it was for two shoes 60vm each?
+LivingAsTori XX nope, because I needed two separate battery packs ;)
lol yea i did 60x2 120 lol
It was 65 cm not 60 cm
No because for each shoe you need a separate battery pack getting only 120 would've been only one battery pack.
and she needs 2 batteries but if she bought 1 there wouldnt be 2 batteries
