As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.
Zak, out of all the training videos I've seen, yours have been the most useful. Especially the "getting a puppy to stop biting" ones. It's so easy to redirect our puppy and wear him out with a good game of tug-of-war. He usually just chews on his toys after that. I bought your book before we got him and it's my bible right now.
I love how inertia just sprinter down the stairs at 6:50 when she was quite scared of them a few Months ago. She has grown so much both physically and mentally. What a good girl is she becoming 😍
I think the best thing about these videos are that you can see in real time how Zak adapts to how Inertia's feeling that day - working on the fly. It's really helped me understand my own dog and what might be going through her head when she's "not listening" or "not attentive". Instead of getting frustrated, now I say "Maybe I gotta pull back and let her have a few easy "wins" to get her full attention on me again" :)
HEY ZAK !!! You are the best dog trainer out there! And everyone... I bought his book Guide to a Well Behaved Dog, I am not even a quarter of a way in ... and it is PHONOMONAL . This series BRINGS IT TO LIFE!!! I would reccomend it over and over again ! It's so amazing ! I can't thank Zak enough for putting in the effort into all he does. His books, his UA-cam videos, and when he gets sponsored ... he is so helpful that I find myself reccomending the sponsors to my friends ! GREAT job Zak and thank you over and over!!!
You are so amazing! I have a puppy golden retriever and it needs lots of training. You have been helping SO much and this is the video what I've been waiting for because she is not good on walks like she sees a dog and she wants to play but she can't so thank you for doing these videos!🤗🐶🐕🐩😎
i just want to thank you for the best dog videos of dogs on yt you helped me and my gsd a long way he is now 1 year old and knows how to walk off-leash and a bunch of cool tricks you tought us love from lebanon
This video was super helpful! My dogs have been sleeping all day after this training 😃 I did it just the way you did and they did amazing. they’ve also been very well behaved as they are aussies and enjoy mental stimulation. Thank you for doing these videos!
My dog used to pull, but now I use a gentle leader, and she's doing wonderfully! I have a dog training channel too and it's pretty small so I'd appreciate any support! Great work Zak!
Hey Zak! I adore your videos, I’ve been watching them whilst on my journey with my own pup. Last week we watched your puppy biting video as we were really at our wits end 😂 ever since watching my puppy has been an absolute angel! So thank you so so much!
Omg Inertia is so big now! I started watching your training videos not too long ago and wow I’m inspired and I can’t wait to get my first puppy thanks to you :)
I love your videos, especially because my dog is about thesame age, so your videos pop up at the time we need them! My dog is not at his best behavior during our evening walk but he is dreamy during our morning walk. I understsnd this is because he is not as rested and focused in the evenings, but I need this to improve.
So I recently found you and binge watched so many of your videos lol. I just ordered both of your books because I LOVE the work you are doing! I also love books!
Free shaping and capturing offered eye contact and engagement will do a lot better than so heavy handedly using a lure... just sayin 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ a lure and food rewards are so useful, but mean nothing when the engagement becomes dependent on knowing if a food reward is involved.
You have so much content and it is really starting to overwhelm me 😣 because I know I could never even train my dog to not pull, heel, spin, switch sides, or go off leash. I’m sad 😔
Really enjoy your training videos. You and Inertia make it look so easy... Can you kindly name the treats you give Inertia during the training sessions. Thanks.
My biggest struggle with dog training is when we got our dog we obviously did the basic training, but we didn’t do any leash training or reactivity training because we didn’t think it was important, but a year and a half later it’s important! He is such a big puller on leash now and is very reactive to other dogs so now he has a bunch of bad behaviours and habits engraved in his mind. So it’s really hard to train him to not do those things or to not react as bad to other dogs. But slowly but surely he has been improving, it just gets hard sometimes because it seems like we go one step forward and two steps back but I’m not giving up, because training your dog is something you are going to need to do for most if not all of your dogs life.
All ur videos have helped me a lot and adopted 50day Lab... Thank you.... can u upload a video about deworming puppies and wat shld we expect after that.??
Good advice in this video, thank you. Do you have any videos on helping a dog who is frightened to go on car ride? I need to train a dog to enjoy the car. Thank you.
We just got a new German shepherd puppy named Rue and she is very very smart we’ve had her for a week so far and she hasn’t had a single potty training accident I took her out the other night she went pee and poop and than when I went to take her back in she started whining and pulling so I let her out longer and she had to poop again. That showed me that at only ab a month and a half old she knew that she had to poop outside in the back yard and when she did she went back inside at ease. Most likely Bc we’ve been rlly hard on potty training her giving her good quality food that don’t make her poop excessively, we use wellness I find it to be a good quality food, taking her out 20min after she eats to potty and if she doesn’t we just 10-15 min while keeping a close eye on her until she goes outside. And we’ve been kennel training her and taking her out in the middle of the night when she whines. Hopefully she keeps up the excellent progress. But at her age she’s very smart and very happy with us she’s even starting to get along with the cats they were play fighting across the room earlier which was surprising. I want to thank you for your videos Bc they have helped a bit along the way with training her. Although i find myself as someone who knows a good bit at training dogs you’ve taught me a couple things i didn’t know
Love all Your videos and I wait for them eagerly because they’re very beneficial to me and my puppy. My 9 weeks old puppy cavalier won’t walk with me on leash, he is very stubborn and I can’t give him too many treats because he’ll throw them up after a while. His stomach is still too Little. I really don’t know what to do.
My tip is if you have a garden or a closed area outside you can first try it there when it works try to do it outside not in a garden that's how i did it with my friends dog
Can you maybe do a video about Intertias first heats? if and how her character changed during and after that? And If you reduced training during that time? Would be really informative! I Really like you videos and just startet my training to become a dogtrainer :)
I have one that is super low energy and stubborn as all heck. He will sit down, and nothing, and I mean nothing, will move this little shitzu mix. He's been like this since we got him qt 4 months. So, if he is off leash and he doesn't want to walk, he will sit and not move. Not for a squirrel not for treats, not for another dog. Super sweet dog, great to travel with, just stubborn. He has to have an eye on me so he stays close. Training is on his terms.
Hi 👋 I’ve not long started to watch your videos first question is how old is Inertia now? I’m planning on getting a dog for my ASD daughter who will be a service dog for her and I plan to use your videos as well as a service dog trainer to train our dog to help my child with her anxiety attacks. I’m forward planning and educating myself before I bring a pup home but I like your video because I can go into this with my eyes open understand what to expect with each stage of a dog’s life?
I used your videos with my first puppy and here I am again with my second. Don't get me wrong I have frowned abit watching them as I am really jealous on how well they listen to you lol. Any advice on how to do all this but also with a 3 year old collie that does listen but gets in the aya of the training if you know what I mean lol. Dash is 3 years old and my new German shepard pup is 9weeks.he sits, eyes on me, leave, come, lay down, clever but dash always pulls on walks he never listened in that area and I did try my best. Should I walk them separately first to train the pup? Bit hard for me to train him as he follows dash everywhere. Love ur style of trianing thanks for the help. Dash is brilliant off the lead and sits before we cross roads etc so that's good. Any advice though right now would be great new pup mam vibes going on lol x
I’m new to this channel, so far the videos have been very helpful! I have a almost 5 yr old husky, he isn’t around kids too often but the other day he tried to mount my nephew and when I tried to intervene he got a bit aggressive with me. Any tips???
We got a sheltie that is one year old now living with us for 2 weeks now we got him from a owner that miss treated him we know because whenever we would tell him to come here with a hand movement looking like its swatting at him he runs away . can you give me advice. please and he does not like to go outsde
