How to Knit a SIMPLE Shawl for Beginners Step by Step

- Опубліковано 3 сер 2024
- Here's a step by step video tutorial on how to knit an easy triangle shawl for beginner knitters. It's made using simple increases on one side of the work. Using larger 12mm needles with chunky yarn makes this knit up quickly. However, you can use any size needle and yarn with this same method. Use this shawl as a foundation and put your own creative spin on it! You can wear it as a bandana cowl, draped over your shoulders in the back, or wear it over one shoulder and tuck it in the back. It's super cozy and can be worn many different ways.
INSTRUCTIONS

Row 1 (and all odd rows): K to end
Row 2 (and all even rows): K1, M1, K to end

Love this, just learning knitting with circular needles, you've made it understandable.
Love that you explain the logic and the plan and not just ask us to blindly follow ❤
Thank you so much for posting this! I looked and tried many different tutorials, for a few hours and just couldn't grasp the concept. Then I found your tutorial and within just a few hours, I've accomplished so much. I had to give it a break because I need to go to bed for work in the morning, but would keep going if I could. The only thing I have ever known to make was scarves. I can't wait to give this to my husbands grandma for Christmas!! Thank you!
Oh yay! So glad it was helpful! Happy knitting ☺️
Very simple pattern, but I don’t knit Continental style so doing that backwards cast on stitch was a little clumsy and my stitches kept coming off my needles. Solved the problem by simply doing a yarnover to add the stitch; I like the look so I will continue this way. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Ashley for your free partterns
Of course! Hope you enjoy!

I like this way of increasing! Can I do this way even when an increase calls for a KFB? Will it change the look of the item? Thank you.
Thank you! I like this way of increasing too! …. It will give a slightly different look than KFB but depending on what you’re knitting, it might not matter! Happy knitting :)
I'm already one skein in by KFB, but I will definitely try the loop increase next time!
