    Smart move, do not cut up that 95/96 WB4 Buick Roadmaster wagon. Those of us that love these cars are watching their numbers shrink by the day. Rust free examples are getting very rare. The Buick Wagon had the vinyl "wood" stickers standard and had to be specifically ordered to not come with them. Far more of them have them than don't. Great score on getting Tad's wagon. Very well know in the 90s B Body community and a post has already been made on the SS forum, lol.

    Been a wagon guy for as long as I can remember. My first car was a 71 Pontiac Safari Catalina Wagon with a 400 2bbl carb. If you stomped on the gas you could watch the gas gauge go down. I've always liked the B body wagons but never bought one. Currently have a 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T wagon with an SRT8 nose on it. I got hit in the passenger front and found a partially dismantled parts wagon. I just need to get the parts pulled and painted and swapped over. Then I can do some engine mods!

    • @mikehunt3222
      @mikehunt3222 3 місяці тому

      With those old Pontiac 400’s with a 2bbl the gas gauge went down just as fast as the speedometer went up. As a teenager I had a ‘77 Pontiac LeMans with a 400 2bbl and it was one of the toughest engines I’ve ever seen. It had a 301 2bbl when I got it but found the 400 and put that in it because when you stepped on the 301 the gas gauge went down FASTER then the speedometer went up. They’re the same exact block all the way up to the 455, just different bore and stroke. All those old Pontiac V-8’s are tough. I beat the ever living sh*t out of that thing and it took every bit of it and asked for more.

    I grew up driving my best friend's parent's Caprice wagon. They are almost indestructible, even lasting long past jumping a railroad crossing and bending the chassis in the middle and sinking it in a canal after a night of less than sober driving through the countryside. The best part was the license plate said "SUPER QT". Imagine a bunch of teenager guys driving that until it died a horrible life many years later. It's nice to be able to live vicariously through someone else and remember the experiences we should never have lived through as a teenager. I can't believe there are 4 of those wagons that have survived, let alone in that condition! You are a lucky man Steve. You must be doing something right. My dad had a '64 New Yorker wagon that was just the cat's ass. It was like sitting in the cockpit of an airplane. The one thing that really stood out to me was the steering wheel. It was rectangular, basically just like a yoke in an airplane. It also had 2 A/C units. The rumble seat would hold 4 people sitting 2x2 across, facing sideways. 10 passengers! The whole car was white leather with black carpets interior. Push button automatic trans. I think it had a 413 cid big block, but it may have been 440cid. I was only about 8yrs old when he sold it.

    I was driving home from New England Dragway,headed east on Rt 202,not far outside of Sanford,Maine when up ahead on the left a white Roadmaster with the woodgrain trim pulled out and headed toward me. Guy probably never even knew why I was staring at that car so intently as he passed by. I texted my buddy when I got home-I said "Dude,I just saw Steve Morris' wagon!" We laughed.

    I saw the white wagon in transit in ABQ, NM and the only reason the wagon body caught my eye was from watching this channel! I saw it and I immediately thought of Steve’s car, funny thing is that was also Steve’s car!

    I've bought and parted out about 15 of these cars over the years. Most of them had posi rear ends and lt1s. They actually still weigh about 3800 pounds without an engine and trans.

    I love station wagons. My dad purchased a 58 Pontiac Safari that was hit in the front end and we repaired and painted it back in the 60's. Later my dad purchased new, a '67 Chevy Biscayne wagon with the 250 six cylinder and three speed. After folding down the rear seat, a 4'x8' sheet of plywood would fit flat on the floor. I believe this was the first year Chevy used the Saginaw 3 speed with a synchronized first gear. That was a fantastic car. I would sooner have an old station wagon than any new car.

    That car is a 1995 I also have a 1995 Roadmaster Estate wagon, it has the small pop out windows in the back, and it has those exact same mirrors that are paint matched to the body. Mine is blue, with the blue matching interior.
    The backwards facing third row seat was discontinued after the 1995 model year. And that's when they also switch to the mirrors over to mounting on the door panel instead of in the Triangle of the door window.

    Bet the trans is smoked. While I LOVE the technical stuff, this is one of my favorite videos you've done. You are sooooo freaking happy considering how sick you were at the start.
    If not raining tomorrow I'll go scrounging thru local yards for your parts. Raleigh NC.

    Wagons gone wild🤣. Always had a soft spot for a wagon. My best friends parents had one that we both drove while getting our license. Had wood grain sides and all. The license plate was "KIDLIMO" i sat in the rear facing seat for 7 hours my first time going snow boarding in Mammoth when we were 15 years old.

    That is also how the early cell phones worked in cars .. you had a little dock on hour dash, and when docked, it would use the thru glass antenna. This was on the mid 90s
