Once you get these ridiculously high multipliers going that overkill the blind by a tenfold this game is better than sex.
this game was built for people like me who are hardwired to only get off after finding an absolutely broken combo in rouguelites
Vinny, regarding the Double Tag mechanic; tags are what you can obtain for skipping a blind e.g. guarantee the next shop joker is polychrome, obtain a free card pack, boss rewards extra money, etc.
Meaning if you have Double Tag and obtain a tag from a blind skip, you'll receive that tag twice.

I think Throwback(?) might be one of my favourite jokers currently (increases xMult for each blind skipped), given I've been getting a little too carried away with skipping blinds as of late.
I love Vinny "Two Pair" but sometimes it's so hard not to sackbeat.

Seeing vin pass up on the swashbuckler gift card combo inflicted a permanent debuff on me
I've yet to see both in the same run. I've fantasized about how nutty that combo could get.
Egg and Swashbuckler is a great set up too after a little while.
@IllegalEagle256 If you have 6 jokers (reasonable), one being a ×mult on the far right side and swashbuckler being second from the right, you gain 4 +mult per round instead of 3 per round. So it really depends on how good your ×mult setup is.
@@jo54763 true, if you get lucky with holos/ foils/ negatives, swashbuckler really ramps up. (Though my favourite combo atm is Midas and Vampire)

I've been playing this game for over 25 hours and only now thanks to vinny do I understand the origin of the term Balatro. Truly, the power of an absolute English major.

A good strat to this game I've found is to really only buy things if you have to until you get to 25$ for max interest, or whatever max interest may be with vouchers

The Wheel is a fucking lie. It seems more like a 1 in 20 than the Lucky Card does. This comes from my own runs as well as watching other people's runs.
Seems like not enough test data. 1/4 is hard to succeed on.

Man Vinny really blew his endless run by not taking that DNA card. He would have been unstoppable!
DNA + Blueprint is absolutely insane. You can move the Blueprint to copy DNA, _tripling_ your card, and then just move the Blueprint back after that first hand. Absolutely bonkers. He could have flooded his deck with aces while rocketing his card count. I did a similar thing with the Steel Joker and only lost because I broke my synergy to discover a Legendary.
Plinko I've found if you set the CRT filter to 30 you can still get some of the aesthetic while the flicking red lines only show up on the title screen, if that still bothers you

This reminds me of those mobile game ads where they pick the most extremely wrong choices to trick you into playing it because you think you could do better. I'm starting to think Vinny got a major in marketing.

The hardest thing about this game is that the cards and blinds do exactly what they say they do.

You see Vinny, there's this powerful mechanic to the game where you can skip rounds to gain a certain bonus. These bonuses vary in nature, but all of them are beneficial in some way.
The name of this mechanic is "Tag". It is a great way to not depend too heavily on luck as it has options such as giving you the option to buy a special Joker at the shop, as well as ways to gain money.
The disadvantage being that you skip a shop and the potential money gain from that round you skipped.
I love the Misprint joker card since it reminds me of the Corruption card from the custom pack that was shown at the last Cardsauce stream.
So much so I mentally refer to it as 'manual blast'.
Part 2 oh yeah.
13:13 Vinny constantly hovering over the booster pack but not buying it, shortly after stating he needed to add new cards to his deck to increase the mult of one of my jokers made me far more stressed than it had any right to be.
brain yacht, when the Serpent blind is at play, only discard more than three cards if they might fuck up your hand held. discarding five will only give you three, but i think discarding one will give you three too.
I did the exact same thing when I got Yorick, panicked and discarded too fast and too greedily

2:28:27 The X4 doesn't become an X8, it's actually much better than that. Blueprint triggers Hologram after it procs, so it doesn't double Hologram's value, it squares it. That means an X4 mult effectively becomes an X16.

I had a run that went insane the other day, I had a joker that got permanently buffed whenever I played a 2, a joker that buffed cards every time they were played, a joker that made low cards play twice, a joker that gave low cards mult, and the deck without face cards. I got up to like round 25 with a deck that was almost entirely 2-5. Wee joker, hack, fibonacci, hiker, and swashbuckler for a little extra mult
i've been eagerly awaiting a part 2 ever since the first video, spam the channel as much as you want

The amount of times Vinnny blinded good cards, like this +34 mult joker with further mult growth potential (twice! at 02:28:25 and 02:33:04) which is way better than his current +4 mult Aces joker, or picking up wrong planets - the ones that level up >=4 poker hands when he plays

Im pretty sure you can figure out a starting blind hand. You see, you can sort cards by rank or suit, and those sortings stay accurate even with blind cards.
What you can do then is check the cards missing in your deck (you can do that by clickig on the deck) and by selecting a card ans sorting, you can figure out which card is the lowest/highest or which suit they are and from there you can make your way up/down the cards until you gurssed all of them.
You're asking him to card count when he can barely tell when he's holding a four-of-a-kind. That would be a truly Sisyphean task for him.
As someone who has never played this game, I feel like Vinny undervalues Jokers that give him chips instead of multipliers. He's doing pretty well for himself but aren't both sides of the multiplication just as important?
