Interesting how you’ve got jakob with his physio everyday and blood tests from age 8 compared to a Kenya runner eg kipchoge who just ran barefoot to school everyday. Complete opposite ends of the spectrum but both become insanely talented runners
Exactly. Genetically East Africans are best suited for running. If they had the same upbringing and training as Jakob I’d imagine they’d be even better than they are
@AJ XOXO this isnt bodybuilding, performance drugs wont get u so far in distance running. Eventually if u overtrain riducously your body will break down no matter how doped up you are or how much blood u have. And also, its not as though they are able to race with extra blood, they would be tested at the olympics
Jakob really inspires me. Since I was 11 (now 13 and 2/3) I've been training sorta like an elite runner. Mainly because I do sessions that are more common for older athletes and not younger ones, just like Jacob did as a kid, and I do all of the little things. However, I run 70k per week (progressing to 80k). 120k per week is insane for a kid. I could do more, however I'm still worried about injurys, but 120k is another level. Anyway, seeing his success after training hard and smart from a young age is awesome.
If you do that much running you have to be aware of the burnout and how much damage it will dot your joints. This is why daily physio, massages or especially yoga is an absolute must. Your tendens, cartilage and muscles require a regenerative blood flow from the severe stress. I also recommend the right structural strength training, not to build bulk, but to strengthen your body fraim and to keep it strong and reseliant. My big recommendation is kneesovertoesguy training coupled with restorative yoga. It will make your body feel invincible.
@@axelschekolin4650 yea, I do strength + mobility, foam rolling, stretching, and a little bit if yoga. Most of my time and effort I put into running is injury prevention and strength work. I'll check that out though.
