    I like the treadmill thing. Interesting, but definitely a controlled way to warmup. Even in summer I'll wear a winter hat and shades to warmup, gets me in the zone. And 3 45s definitely is 3x300 at 45s. That's not even race pace for him, but getting body ready. Lots of fun 1500 runners to watch for in 2022.

      3 45s means 3:45 km pace if it was 3 reps he would have said “he ran 3 45s” not “he was running 3:45s” he was running implies it’s a verb so it’s a pace not a finish time. 3:45/km pace for a warm up is fast but not crazy fast, most pros run 4:00 to 3:50ks for their warm up anyway.

    Track cyclists warm up on the turbo, very controlled, and a 4km pursuit is a similar effort to a 1500m run. So having a treadmill should be no surprise. I'm going to try a cycle of the "Ingebrigtsen method" adapted to the bike, especially the 3 easy days and the 2 double threshold days. Not sure it will translate to a long road race, but worth a try.

    Jakob would be a tank if he wasn't a distance runner. His head is huge which gives you an idea. He has an aura about it. Anyone who has seen him in real life will attest to this.

      Specially the middle brother, he doesn't have the body of a distance runner at all

    Jacob did use the sunglasses, I guess it was his way to come into his bobble, like he in some way always have done, but withot sunglasses earlier.
    But this was an event that few get to experience more than once in their life, maybe Jakob gets to experience this event several times due to his young age, he can actually win 2 Olympic 1500 meter medals. But he will definitely run 5000 meters also in the next Olympics in Paris.
    And I think he will set a new standard in the coming seasons, new world records on 3000 and 5000 meters, I am 100% sure, sorry for that Komen and Cheptegei, but a new level will come.
    I am not sure on 1500, dont think Jakob make 3:26.00, but he can come very close. the same with the 1 Mile 3:43.13, he will sure come closer, but he need a good pacer, not run alone as he did when he ran 3:47,24, he will run about 3.44 with a good pacer.

      3:45 per km really isn't that fast for a pro/elite runner. Figured it would be faster actually

    Sad news!
    Ingrid Ingebrigtsen har quit athletics, and Gjert Ingebrigtsen is on sick leave and is stepping down as coach for Team Ingebrigtsen, according to the Norwagian newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.

    Ingebrigtsen brothers do a lot of training on treadmills. They complained in Doha that the hotel wasn't able to provide a fast enough treadmill. Honestly the future of running is treadmill. It doesn't take many years and then there will be more money in treadmill running than in track races.

    • @adamjohnson66
      @adamjohnson66 2 роки тому

      @@TomPorter the future of training. The Ingebrigtsen family emphasizes lactic threshold and pace training. The Treadmill demands a set pace and is less impactful on the joints to most terrain running
