    Another little tip standing water in your bucket is actually worse for the crab than no water the best way you can keep crab alive out of the ocean is a cooler with ice they will stay alive for 48 hrs +... I know this from experience multiple times not just once

    keep your fuel tank as full as you can in the off season to give it less room to have condensation form. Disconnect your fuel line and run it out of gas every time. You really should run it back at home one more time with freshwater to clean out the cooling system. Stabil is also a must

    Good lesson and something I never thought about. My wifes boat had the 9.9 Evenrude 2s and I never thought about the moisture in the tank. I kept the tank in the shed so probably didn't have to worry about it but?? Something to think about. I only have a cou[ple gallons in the boats tank but it is outside. Also keeping your fuel tank full of gas limits the amount of empty space in your tank where condensation can form. Lucky for you keeping a 5 gallon tank full is very low cost. Like another person said non ethanol fuel! You may want to check to see if Mercury makes a fuel additive that they recommend for their 2 strokes. Yamaha recommends 2 additives for their engines. Yamaha Ring Free is one and it is $$$ but It goes in every tank.

    • @ishwithfish
      @ishwithfish  3 роки тому +1

      great tips, thx! im going to go with marine stabil and seafoam, and keep the tank at high capacity like you suggest.

    • @fishhunt9874
      @fishhunt9874 3 роки тому

      @@ishwithfish
      The only reason I suggested that you check to see what Mercury recommends is because of feedback from an outboard mechanic. He harps at anyone who uses that “red” fuel additive as according to him whenever he tears down a broken outboard that is “red” inside it is because of the use of that product. I do not know know what parts get coated in it but gets pretty agitated if you say you are using that additive. I have been using that “red” additive in my lawnmower gas can for over 20yrs without issue.

    • @ishwithfish
      @ishwithfish  3 роки тому +2
