I filled a Home Depot bucket in an hour with plastic trash a couple awesome ladies got to it too, but everyone else on the beach (50 people) just watched or pointed out thing I should pick up. We could all do better about it.

I would never be in a kayak fishing. I have seen the great whites at gaudalupe Island. Also hear surfer being hit a marina Beach. I would be in the arima boat.

if I had to buy one, I'd def buy the rod only and pair with a BG. the reel froze in the salt pretty quick. buy the rod has some merit: good feel, collapses easily after ocean use, good guides, good backbone, grips that are just ok. 100x better than my original kastking blackhawk tho!

thx! maybe, but here's my initial thoughts after using it for 5 trips (took me that long to catch something yt worthy!): the rod was pretty decent for a telescopic, has a neat feature where some of the guides actually rotate out indepent of any blank segment to make packing easier. the walls are med thickness feels like, so i think that low teener ling was prob the max id put on it. the reel feels like any decent unbranded amazon blank, we'll see how quick salt kills it. fyi it was sponsored product so take my opinion with a grain of salt😊
i do. i take 1 motion sickness pill before bed (usually Bonine), and 1 an hour before i launch. i also only eat dry toast with some jam and drink water beforehand, helps keep my stomach settled. also, the more you fish, the more you get used to it!
@@ishwithfish I tried doing that before 1 at night and 1 before heading out and I almost fell asleep out in the middle of the ocean, I could easily have passed out no problem

Random gear question. What kind of pants do you kayak guys wear for use in the kayak. I’ve got rain bibs but they’re bulky.
I wear NRS farmer john wetsuit. In a kayak, always assume you'll get dunked and dress accordingly!

Ish does that rod really have the action of a medium heavy rod? That is the most common weight rating for Bay Area stripers, halibut, and rock fish.
i would say mh by freshwater standards, med by saltwater standards. it's a decent pack rod as a backup you can store in your kayak.
