Catch BIG Crabs in the Dark! Night Gear and Surf Tips

  • Dungeness crabs are little ocean filtering machines that run 24/7 ... almost. Watch to see what factors I focus on to predict active feeding patterns, and the gear I use to catch these tasty critters from shore at night.
    BE SAFE! I can't stress this enough. No crab is worth your life. Monitor conditions and be mindful of the ocean, it really doesn't give a crab about you.

    • @richs4878
      @richs4878 3 роки тому +1

      I’ll let Ish answer too but I found as much of a pain it is to switch out bait so much your success really goes up if you do. The squid, etc just gets waterlogged quickly and loses a lot of its intense scent which is what attracts the crabs in the first place. Not saying they won’t come and find it. Eventually. But fresh stinky new bait they come quicker. Bring lots of bait and swapping it out can make all the difference.

    Enhancement Stamp?? I got my new license several weeks ago but an enhancement stamp?
    Something I have been noticing is the return of using the 065 weed eater line on the snares? I have been making them with 100 lb. mono this year. Just wondering if there was a reason for the 065 lines?
    Also, could you show us a better view of how you are holding the crabs when putting on the bands?

    • @ishwithfish
