As an MB, we all know the "best" whiskey is the whiskey you like to drink, the way you like to drink it. So what's your favorite whiskey to mix with coke? Assuming you're a heathen dog that would dare do such a thing. 🙃
To not use Coke. My favorite back when I drank more things mixed with whiskey: Dr. Dickel - George Dickel and Dr. Pepper. Forget whether I liked No.8 or No.12 more. But I’m also from Tullahoma 😎
The looks on Daniel's face during this episode is the perfect summation of what it's like to be the one sober person in a group of drunkies. Luckily, I've never been that one sober person. Cheers!
This is why I watch this channel. Not for the distillation experiments, not for the distillery tours, not for the vlogs where they make a new whisk(e)y, but for Brianna and Rex's drunken antics.
Briana's experience with whiskey continues to be same as mine - 100% genunine but also still learning.... thank you for including her in these episodes so we all feel part of the group!
Awesome to see y'all doing & promoting a dry week. I'll be five years sober in June :) Really enjoy these videos where you try different stuff and get really complex with the descriptions, kinda helps me continue to enjoy the world of whiskey without actually drinking it!
I personally loved Makers Mark with coke... made it into cherry coke... actually good imo. Personally not a fan of Makers Mark... but it was great to mix.
Got the same experience with that.. Took a bottle of Maker's which I didn't really enjoy drinking neat at home with me for a company party and loved it with coke 🥳
I like making a Old Fashioned with Makers. My version is 2 ouces Makers, 1 tsp honey (mixed with finger to heat up and allow to dissolve faster), 2 shots Angostura bitters on ice. YUM
I think ultimately Jack Daniels doesn't have what most people want from a whiskey if your drinking it for the whiskey, but when you drink a whiskey and coke your not drinking it for an advanced whiskey your looking for something entirely different and Jack is a popular mix with coke for a reason
I actually just tried the Highland Park in my coke and it actually made it like a smokey vanilla coke experience. The blending's somehow really nice like it actually transformed the coke somehow.
I sometimes wonder if this channel should be called "whiskey guy with the 2 drunks" lmao. But seriously u guys are awesome Briana's reactions are always hilarious
My only complaint about the episode is the white background. It's so damn bright! You guys have created the most beautiful and perfect backdrop that's actually behind you and tangible. The white is so aggressive
I was perusing the back catalog when I first found this channel and saw one of Brianna's earliest appearances. I recall Rex asked her if she had to go to work later and she said '"No" then he asked if she was going to drive home. She said "Yes" and he said "No, you're not." Kept thinking about that all through this episode.
"The best" video for me today. Man I enjoyed this one! Lots of laughs and great content. I even grabbed an Arbeg 10 and Coke to test it out. Thank you guys for the amazing content!!! The 3 of you (and Alex) are amazing! Greetings from South Africa. Thanks for making my evening worth while 😀
I'm actually very fond of Jameson with Coke. In particular, I like to pair Jameson with Mexican Coke. The one with cane sugar, rather than high fructose corn syrup. It's got a very smooth character to it, complimenting the coke while also rounding out the profile.
God what a revelation this episode was! I also am a smoky scotch fan, and it never even occurred to me to try it in coke! 😮 Perhaps because I’ve been more of a rum&coke person in the past anyway. Fortunately I have had access to Highland Park at a discount, but my go to smoked scotch from work is called Finlaggan, which I often refer to as “half the smoke, for half the price” when compared to Lephroig 10, another shelf staple. I also have some barrel proof bourbon with a peach brandy barrel finish on it that could prove interesting… Thanks for the inspiration, and the giggles. All three of you are gems!
@@tt55k Not as yet, but not for lack of trying. HP’s signature expression is missing from my local shelves. I’m guessing import delays of some kind. So I’ve added it to the “Pending” list, which is fine. I’m nothing if not patient. The Finlaggan worked ok, though a tad bit saline if I’m being picky. It wasn’t revelatory. And the barrel proof Broken Barrel:Peach Brandy bourbon expression landed a little better, but it’s almost gone, so I won’t be doing that on the regular. I’ll try and come back here with a update, should the Highland Park come my way in the not-to-distant-future.

Highland Park 12 Year Viking Honour is my daily driver, and is in my top 10 list for sure. I have never tried it with coke, but i will now. I do want to note that my coke might be different than yours. Did your coke have real sugar or High-fructose corn syrup? In my country coke uses only real sugar, so the taste profile might be different.
Double check your ingredients, they will use whatever is cheapest in the area, and recently corn syrup has become cheapest in many markets causing Coke to change their mixes without announcing it.
@@robertwright5942 The chances of that is almost zero here in sweden. The food branch of the goverment here do not like corn syrup. I think there are like 10 or 15 items being sold over here. Most are imported, like sweet baby ray bbq.

I love the channel . Too bad that I can't get most of what is shown on here. Up here in Manitoba Canada, we are limited to what the LC has. Mostly Canadian whiskeys... I have purchased some online, but the shipping costs are crazy. I drink my whiskeys with ginger ale because I find that coke / pepsi gives me heart burn ...
This video inspired me to try out a new variation on an Old Fashioned that turned out great. It’s 2oz Old-Grandad BiB (peanut and caramel forward bourbon), 2 dashes of angostura bitters, 1 oz of Coke, and an orange twist. Try it out! Got that classic peanuts-and-coke vibe but not too sweet (didn’t add any extra sugar)
Just a thought, it would be cool if somehow in small print you kept what they are trying off in the corner maybe? I know you show beforehand but I forget sometimes, especially when im drinking.

Maybe a year later, but I just saw this video. Had to make my favorite. Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Barrel Proof Rye, on the rocks with coke. It’s goooood.
For a few years Coke was doing a Georgia Peach flavor in glass bottles. That stuff mixed AMAZINGLY well with whiskey! But covid seemed to have killed it. You can get a similar effect from coke and peach flavored whiskey, but then you don't get to try it with your favorite whiskey.
