@ you can literally see the torque fall off at higher rpm’s in the dyno. Turbos provide boost which creates torque. Horsepower is = torque x rpm/5252. Where horsepower is the ratio of torque converted depending on the rpm

Technically, the gear that you choose should be as close as possible to a 1:1 ratio. You can't just pick whatever gear you want and expect to get an accurate hp reading..

Why would it skew the results though? Horsepower is a function of torque and speed, so in lower gears you’d get more torque and less speed to the wheels, which should even out. Besides it would be hard to get a true 1:1 ratio because you have a final drive ratio at the diff.
@davidtaylor3 I think you answered your own question. The standard is to be in a gear that is as close to 1:1 ratio as possible. Deviating from that will make it read inaccurately
I think it might have made a few more hp if there was some large fans pointing at each side of the rear of the car where the intakes and intercoolers are, or a large fan behind the car.

You Also Need To Take Into Consideration that you're DYNOING the car at a different time of year. Colder more dense air as it was snowing and winter while Chicago is still relatively warm and cool. Atmospheric difference makes a lot. i bet it could be higher.
Really need hub dynos for stuff over 800-1000hp RWD. All wheel maybe bit more margin in it like you are doing. Even then it's pushing it, lot of pressure on tyres. You sure it makes full power in that gear? edit: no it didn't. Good job lads. But risky if a tyre lets go lol, balls...
It’s been disproven that there is a percentage power loss with drivetrain. It is a fixed number. If you have a 600hp engine and put a turbo on it and make 700hp the transmission, axles, and differential don’t consume more power, as long as they are operated in the same rpm range. There will be an additional friction loss, but it will be negligible. You can’t go off a percentage.
Would rather see a 300+ instead of Rimac to have it all combustion and also will clear the Chiron ss 300+ vs jesko absolute debate we will get to see how in real life they perform at different speeds
Friends, the second key… because I see that not even the owner knows it… it will not give you more power, it will give you more aerodynamics to reach the highest final speed… If you think it is the same without the top speed key, you are wrong.

At the end of the day, the bolide is a racecar and it’s best to adapt that engine for a racecar for a better track experience. On top of the power difference, there’s a huge difference in conditions. You’d make even more power if it were as cold as the day you ran your other Chiron.
When i was at the garage where they did the tune on my car, there was a Veyron. Spoke with the guys about how you dyno something like this and they said it's a real pain in the a$$, because in order to achieve the most accurate reading, they have to do the pulls in 5th gear. This would allow for the proper boost from the turbos to build and the engine to show its true power numbers. The problem is that in 5th gear the car has no problem exceeding the maximum rated speed of the dyno stand of 300km/h. So in the end what they are doing is more of an aproximation based on calculations than actual measuring. IT's insanse how these cars are engineered.
You're comparing a day in shorts with a day where there's snow flakes in the air. That could represent another 12% power swing, give or take, for what it could have done in cold weather.
I hate to spoil the party here, but the first run was in 3rd gear, the car shifted to 4th during the run. The final run was in 4th gear, the car shifted to 5th late in the run, so the runs were not consistent. Dynojet notoriously over-reads and a chassis dynos only chance of being anywhere near accurate is if the car can be *held* in the closest gear to 1:1 ratio. I'd be surprised if this is 3rd or 4th, I bet its 6th and running a 1600hp car to 7k RPM in 6th on a Dyno, where it'll be doing comfortably over 200mph is nuts, hence lower gears are chosen and with that comes poorer measurements. The car shifts gear at the top end of the RPM range, right where the peak power is being measured, and so throws the whole run out of the window from a peak BHP standpoint. The wider the ratio, the greater the disparity in measurements on a chassis dyno. The Chiron SS is sexual though, and still fricken awesome though.
I wonder if its boost by gear? I don't know if anyone would have the balls to try it in 5th and 6th on a dyno but I feel like it would make even more power since it made the same power for both 3rd gear pulls
your perception maybe right,the chiron SS only goes to 1300bhp shows at gauge in first 2 gears(mostly to prevent wheel spin),then goes full 1600hp at least on gauge from 3rd gear and on

Extra 80hp, but don't forget the extra 84 tq. I'd have that key in all the time. If your worried about losing it just leave it in or put one of those spring back key chains on it and double side tape it in so it's always in there but can't really go anywhere.
I gotta say, i'm more hyped about the 9900x3d. I currently have a 7900x3d, and it's a great cpu. But i can't but feel something is ever so slightly off with it. It could be the double ccd design or something entirely different. But none the less i'm so excited for a dual 3DV cache ccd cpu.

Yo read the manual. JUST USING THE SPEED KEY DOESNT UNLOCK FULL POTENTIAL. There a function with the steering wheel keys and sh** that lets you change different modes and the type of gas in and the amount of horsepower. You def have to look it up things pop up in the dash that tell you what gas it’s accepting and what horsepower it’s delivering
