Hi Jen, I love when you make longer videos. Adding the chat during the video instead of the voice over is an appreciated nice touch...thank you. We get to know you better in my opinion. I like your humorous personality. Keep them coming.
Hi Jen, I watched your meal prep video for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Those pears reminded me of our old house with a pear tree and I baked a lot of pear recipes including this bread which is still a family favorite. My mom loves it so much. Recipe below: I don’t know where I got the original but this recipe is with my modifications. Hope you and your family enjoy it. Pear bread 3 cups flour 3 large eggs 1-1/2 cups light brown sugar 3/4 cup butter, melted or coconut oil is very delicious too. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons ground ginger or 1 heaping tablespoon of freshly grated ginger 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 4 cups shredded ripe pears 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 cup toasted chopped walnuts Shred pears and add lemon juice to them, set aside. Preheat oven to 350F, I put them nuts in there to toast while the oven preheats. Combine all wet ingredients, Combine all dry ingredients in separate bowls. Once the nuts are toasted, chop and add them to dry ingredients. Gently combine, wet and dry ingredients and add the pears, mix well and bake in 2, 9x5 loaf pans for 50-60 mins. Enjoy! P.S. you can easily half the recipe.
I really never thought I could like your videos any more than I did, but I LOVE the chit chat style! Don't get me wrong, the voice overs are great, but hearing the all kitchen noises and you sort of thinking out loud, made it SO much more fun getting ready for work today. Ok. I'm sounding weird now, huh?! 😂😂😂 Anyway, hope to see, and hear, more just like it! Happy Monday!
Yaaaas! Chatty meal prep- please and thank you! I checked my notifications like an hour ago. Got kinda busy. Came back and BOOM! a Jen upload! I'm so happy🤓Thank you❤
Love how you set this video up (with the screen shots while you went over everything). I wish others who are 'trying' to do meal prep videos would pay more attention to yours. Done right :)
My grandmother has decided to give me all of her mother’s old cookbooks and I was so excited when I spotted a Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook copy! It is a newer copy than the one you have but there are so many recipes in this book. I am so excited to go through and find all the goodness awaiting in this cookbook!
So Jen, honestly I’m not a cook by nature. I usually don’t enjoy it, like planning, shopping, prep and clean up is a lot for me. I do enjoy baking though. But I get in a rut with a lot of recipes and watching your videos gives me a lot of inspiration. It also just makes me feel like I can do it too, and your enthusiasm gives me enthusiasm to try and cook more things. Thank you. ❤️
I am SO loving these prep videos! This was JUST what I needed to jump start my meal preps and planning again! I'm recently single again after 14 years and we share custody of our 3 kids. I also babysit my best friends kids 2 full days a week so i'm trying to get the prep and planning back under control. 5 kids that are 11,9,8,8,and 5 make for hectic school mornings/snacks after school/dinners! I like that your prep and plans are simple, "normal" foods that people will actually eat or make.
Please keep this format going! It’s like sitting in the kitchen with your homegirl while she cooks! I love it. Also, the ASMR quality of this video is excellent!
Definitely love the talking as you prep instead of a voice over. I could never get my hubby to like hummus until I switched cannellini beans for the garbanzo beans. I guess he much preferred the more mild flavor & now he eats it. I never added lemon, but will now. Thanks Jen.
One trick I love when making banana bread is sprinkling a little sugar on top before it goes in the oven and it makes a yummy sweet crust on top. My son loves banana bread, I’ll have to try this recipe! 🤗
Jen I love your personality, and this style of video just makes it pop out that much more! It feels like you're just hanging out with us, and we're getting to know you on a whole new level. And I bet it's easier on you post-production! I love how thoughtful you are with how you produce your videos. Keep going!
Love watching your videos because you explain all recipes in a manner that is relatable. Plus, I like how your flexible, meaning you give options you can do this and/or that. It is amazing how you also vary some recipes with the ingredients because of your family members living in the house. I like the way you parent and are real. You’re not the type who will be oh you have to do this and it has to be this way because it right...who is to say right. Enejoy your channel.
Absolutely love your videos! And I really enjoy the chatty style, seems more personal and connected. You keep me motivated to meal prep, and that helps me and my hubby eat out less. Everytime I'm in the kitchen getting started, it's your videos that I want to watch. Thank you for providing such fun and relatable content!
Everything looks so good. I love your tuna helped story. I just washed up my fruit and I have never had such dirty grapes. They were terrible. I changed out my water twice. We love fruit around here. That's our evening snack with a wedge of cheese. Have a great week Jen. This was another great meal prep. Love and blessings....
LOVED this vlog. My favorite Greek restaurant puts sliced carrots, purple onion, kalamata olives, cucumber in their Greek salad with a simple oil and vinegar dressing with dried oregano. Delish.
Great video and I like your "funny stories" Tip for thick battered bread is to make a valley length-wise down the middle to help with the splitting on top. Thanks and Blessings ~Sidney
COOL WHIP!!! I love when Brian asks, “Why are you saying it like that?!” 🤣 Love the live chatting instead of voiceover. It’s a nice “Warts and all” feel. ❤️
Really fun meal prep video thanks Jenn! I found the small and medium plastic containers at walmart and love them. I use the small ones for hubbies ketchup and mustard, and the bigger ones for sugar free jello that goes in his lunches. Please DO a dedicated container video! Iv been looking at them at walmart but having a hard time deciding on what to invest in.
I was craving tuna salad 🥗 yesterday, I make mine with finely chopped jalapeños, tomatoes without seeds finely chopped, red onion, cilantro, a little bit of mustard, avocado mayo, Salt, pepper I put it on a tostada and some slices of avocado 🥑 and is delicious 😋
I love this format with you talking through it vs, the voiceover. When I make tuna salad I use one can of the good tuna and one can of the cheap stuff. And I add a capful of vinegar in addition to the mayo, etc. just because that is how my mom and grandmother did it. 🤣
When you where cutting the pears, and I heard your dog coming jogging into the kitchen and then you see his nose only pop up by your apron was SOOOOOOOO hilarious and also so cute! Lol
You have to try the Chiquita boxed banana bread mix sold in the produce section at my grocery store I used to use this Martha recipe also until I tried that one and it is so easy and tastes awesome it’s a time saver when I have old bananas
I discovered your channel about a month ago and I’ve been watching your old videos. I tried to guess what you did for a living and I finally watched an episode where you said you were a nurse. That was one of my guesses. Today’s episode confirmed it when I watched the way you removed the parchment paper from the banana bread. Haha I thoroughly enjoy your videos and I love your butcher block island. I made my husband watch one of your videos so he could see your island as our island countertop has seen better days. Guess what I am getting? Yay.
I'm also the only one that loves tuna or chicken salad. I like eating it on romaine or a lettice leaf instead of bread. Not a keto thing just a texture preference with the salad. I like the crunch it gives!
I get so happy every time you post! Your voice is so soothing to me lol plus I love your content! You motivate me to cook more as a working mom. I have an infant going on toddler so it’s difficult for me to always cook but you really inspire me. Thank you! 💗
I agree with Adam on the tuna salad! Can’t do it! I love chicken salad but no tuna for me. At one time in my life I would make tuna helper and loved it. I guess I ate it so much because it was a cheap meal that I burnt myself out on it. What did you think of the McCormick packets? Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful week!
This was my fav video you’ve made so far! The editing and music were on point. I loved the flow as well. The little pink nose appearing here and there made it very entertaining 😆😍
Look forward to your meal prep videos!! Gives me motivation!! 😉 Any word on when your meal prep course is coming out? No pressure, just asking. 😘 Yes to a meal prep container video, need some suggestions! 😊
Love the chatty meal prep! Murphy is the cutest. Oh, I absolutely cut my grape tomatoes for the exact same reason. Also, I had to pause and go make tuna salad for dinner.🤣
Love watching your videos while I put away groceries and/or cook myself! I'm also similar in that I love veggies, but not a huge fan of fruit unless it's in a smoothie or with yogurt.
Also..........you mentioned that you were using convection for your quiche. Could you talk sometime about how and when you use convection instead of your regular oven heat. I have it but hardly use it due to my total ignorance on the subject! Help, please.
I like sauteed red bell pepper, sauteed sweet onion, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg, radishes, black olives, asiago, chickpeas, sunflower seeds on my garden salads. Mmmm!
1. Lemmus 🍋😆 I also love making roasted red pepper hummus with jarred peppers from Trader Joe’s 2. I need that loaf pan, like, yesterday 3. Every time you said ‘loaf’ my inner 10 year old boy would get the giggles 4. I cut my hand badly years ago straining a can of tuna, so apparently I need that plastic strainer too 5. LOVE the bent over the counter camera angle. Something I would do too : ) 6. Thanks for the giggles tonight @rdsally
♥️😎 I use the white part of green onions too ~ I noticed u usually cut them off? Just personal choice or is there a reason? Thanks! Gonna try Hummus today 🐾
I love your other meal prep videos with the voice overs but I really loved this format with real time chatting while you work. I've never seen the tuna strainer but that's awesome! Edited to add: I'm with you on the tomatoes bursting in your mouth- too weird! Chick fil a salad leaves them whole and I cut them before I eat them cause I dont like the sensation either 😂 you're not alone.
I love tuna salad! Kirkland albacore tuna is the best! My favorite tuna salad is when you mix in a couple of hard boiled eggs to the mix too. I also like to eat it on bread with some really crisp iceberg lettuce. So delicious! Great video! Thanks Jen.🍞🥚🥬
I loved the casual chatty meal prep. The Starbucks banana bread recipe is my go to. Nothing too special about but it makes a nice size loaf. I say Wheat thins like that all the time 😂
Usually here in Greece we add cucumber, tomatoes, peppers, onions, feta (the whole block), red onions, sometimes they add capers too, and/or tiny bit of rocket (that's fancy tho) and the oregano, olive oil, salt and a touch or vinegar!!
Love your videos...I do make my own hummus but I find here in Canada, the jar of Tahini is so big it goes bad before I can use it...any suggestions? Can u freeze it?
When my bananas get old, I put them in the freezer, peels and all. When I make banana bread, I pull the frozen bananas out of the freezer and put them in a bowl and microwave them. They are so soft that they squirt of the peels. No mashing needed!
Lol.... The tuna helper story is priceless! 😂😂 I followed your link on Amanda's channel. I am now hooked on your channel. So good. Thanks for some really good food ideas.
lol poor Adam. I know those feels. I also hate tuna, but I *love* chicken salad. Not with grapes or whatever the heck you get at the deli. It's literally your tuna salad, but substituted with canned chicken. And no celery. I hate celery. And I have no idea on the recipe either. I do it exactly like you do! Annoyed my sister because she wanted to know how much of what. She didn't like "I dunno, taste as you go!" lol I use mayo, yellow mustard, pepper, Italian seasoning, some salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. I think that's it... Try out the chicken salad on your family. Tastes great, toasted, on wheat/12 grain bread and a lil bit of mayo on the bread. And with romaine. [hearty thumbs up] (We love mayo...lol)
You are so right about the grapes! I have started washing them in my salad spinner like you do and the grapes I washed today left a visible layer of dirt on my fingers after picking them off the vines! Gross! Also how were the roasted radishes? I've never thought to roast those before
I have the Debbie Meyer green boxes that I store my produce in. They are amazing, you should check them out for sure. Makes my produce last forever which is great since my and my youngest are the only ones who eat all the produce. Dang Picky Eaters!
Here's my funny story....celery dipped in almond butter mixed with honey & cinnamon is my breakfast several days a week......I roast radishes quite often for a veggie side.....so yummy!
How long does the celery last in water and do you change the water? Do you put a lid on the jar? Celery is one of the vegetables that I buy for specific recipes and end up throwing out heaps of!! Thanks :)

First, I love your meal prep videos :)
Second, I feel the same about whole cherry tomatoes.
Third, you have some of the best knife skills on UA-cam.
I love seeing the dog nose pop up by the counter every now and then! Soooooo cute! 🥰

When I make my humus I have been warming my chick peas on the stove & becomes very smooth then put in processor so good

Jen I’ve also been making Martha Stewart’s banana bread recipe for years and years it’s absolutely one of my favorites!!
I love your meal prep videos! Thank your for sharing with us.
Idk if you’ve ever tried this or not but I love to use my leftover banana bread to make french toast...its so yummy
I have that exact tuna strainer, I bought it from Walmart like 10 years ago.
Me too!

Holy crap.. that tuna strainer was the coolest thing ever. Wow mind blown
Love how Murphy is just side eyeing you while you are making your humus. Haha.
Loved everything...wish it was all prepped and ready to go in my kitchen! Great inspiration 🤗.

I worked as a CNA for 2 years and noticed that also. Lol
I made that banana bread last night and omg!!! It’s delicious! I’m going to adapt it today and do pumpkin instead of banana and hope it turns out ok.
I'm also the only one that loves tuna or chicken salad. I like eating it on romaine or a lettice leaf instead of bread. Not a keto thing just a texture preference with the salad. I like the crunch it gives!

Love your meal preps!
"I've got chicken sausage from THE aldi" 🤣🤣 always a joy to watch, you definitely brighten my day!

LOL at Murphy just lurking around the humus!
You inspire me so much in the kitchen, thankyou🤗💕
I like sauteed red bell pepper, sauteed sweet onion, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg, radishes, black olives, asiago, chickpeas, sunflower seeds on my garden salads. Mmmm!
That quiche looks amazing!! Can't wait to make it myself ❤️❤️❤️
So I just found your channel. You had me at no mushrooms!!!!!!! LOL Thanks for the preps. I always prep but love the new ideas.
I love all your meal prep
1. Lemmus 🍋😆 I also love making roasted red pepper hummus with jarred peppers from Trader Joe’s
2. I need that loaf pan, like, yesterday
3. Every time you said ‘loaf’ my inner 10 year old boy would get the giggles
4. I cut my hand badly years ago straining a can of tuna, so apparently I need that plastic strainer too

I wonder how many miles you have put on that salad spinner??
I love the idea of a crustless quiche. I don't keep cottage cheese but I wonder if plain Greek yogurt would work instead?
Jen, I just love your cooking videos! Oh and by the way...you’re costing me money! 😂 Wanting all the kitchen gadgets. Making my Christmas wish list.
I really enjoyed this video Jen. I enjoy all your videos but I love how you talk to us live. I love the tuna helper story. 😂😂😂😂
Instant pot cooks spaghetti squash beautifully !
Tina Pierce I tried using my instapot the other day and it’s faberware. I need a class on how to use it. The buttons are different
Hey Jen! I am totally with you on the grape tomatoes! Love the tuna strainer... genius! Thanks for another awesome video! 🙌🏻💕
I say Wheat thins like that all the time 😂
I didn’t think toasted radishes tasted like potatoes, but they are delicious!! We eat then roasted or sautéed quite frequently.
Usually here in Greece we add cucumber, tomatoes, peppers, onions, feta (the whole block), red onions, sometimes they add capers too, and/or tiny bit of rocket (that's fancy tho) and the oregano, olive oil, salt and a touch or vinegar!!
Those are usually my go-to toppings. I also like to add chickpeas / garbanzo beans for some extra protein, chopped beets, or pickled turnips.
Anna I want kalamata olives on mine too. Yummy!
Love your videos...I do make my own hummus but I find here in Canada, the jar of Tahini is so big it goes bad before I can use it...any suggestions? Can u freeze it?

Love chatty videos! Although I honestly love all your videos❤️
Adams & I have the same sentiments on tuna😁. I always use canned white chicken for anything that calls for tuna.
Definitely yes to a container video! As always, inspired by your meal preps
Love the chat style video Jen
Do you find that your raspberries and grapes get mushy / spoil faster if you prep / pre-wash them? How do you prevent that?

How long does the celery last in water and do you change the water? Do you put a lid on the jar? Celery is one of the vegetables that I buy for specific recipes and end up throwing out heaps of!! Thanks :)
Yes I put a lid on it, it will last 2 weeks, change the water every 3-4 days!
@@Jen-Chapin Excellent! Thank you :)
You are such a nurse!!! You took the paper out from under the bread like you were changing sheets under a patient! Lol!
I know right! Lolol 😂
