Amazing demo Jay! It's beautiful to see a musician that's actually happy and smiley, instead of bored and buried in technical details. Made my day! Please keep up the amazing work!!
I love your playing and rhythmic enthusiasm. This demo sold me on the RC-500. Laying down a track and then having the RC-500 match the rhythm tempo to the guitar line is an incredible creative tool (Rhythm: Rec End feature). I saw that feature in your demo and got an RC-500. Two weeks later, it far surpasses any expectation. The flexibility and power of this device is next generation looper. The ease of hitting the one with the accurate button/switches makes looping fun and easy. I had timing difficulties with some other brands of loopers, but this Boss unit works right out of the box. I then added a midi controller to give me some more flexibility. Thanks for the demo and thanks for the great music!
Good to hear you are happy with the RC-500, Adam. I am hoping to have one in my hands this week and also ordered a midi controller for it (got the airstep). Good to know others have been happy with it all! Jay makes it look so easy.
Notice to all gear manufacturers: Pay this man! Have enjoyed Jay's demos for years - absurdly talented, but it's the pure joy in his demos that really set him apart. Jay exhibits on camera how we feel when we bond with a new piece of gear.
I’ve never felt so happy after watching a demo. Lol Your joy and passion are infectious, Jay! Your guitar skills are incredible! Very inspiring! LOVED LOVED LOVED your sound!
I don't think anyone has more fun playing guitar than you Jay. Paul Gilbert might be close lol. Subscribed because your energy and the fun you have playing is an inspiration to play more! Keep em' coming!
Ok... THAT WAS CRAZY!!!!!! I had no idea it had those FX on it. It wasn't listed or advertised on the official site/channel or in any of the other videos i watched. (Multiple like you said. lol) I'm sold... I'm ordering one today!
It's like a 'new' band member that shows up on time, stays sober, and shuts up when you're trying to get a point accross. 😂 Tree-fiddy??? Pffft... Priceless! I'm late, but excellent demo man!
It's been a while since I've used the rhythm function, but I'm pretty it is an automatic function If you set the start perameter to "REC END". Good luck.
Was coming for the looper but am amazed by the GT1000-core. Boss just rocks this year (or since the -200 series back years), thanks for the demo!! Awesome playing! Cheers
Finally a clear answer to the RC 10's disappointment. Can the drum machine sync or change its tempo with your composed chord progression. That is all that I wanted to know. Thanks for giving us a straight and clear answer.
Can you tell me what the effect paddle is you use to switch. And HOW can you kevel the volume for all the different layers? Hope you can help. Your demo is appetizing and very appealing. I bought the machine!
Great demo....great loop skills...I have a question...can you use the loop effects without an external foot Swich?...I mean can you use the pedal buttons to activate it?...
Hi, congratulations for the video! A question, can I use the external pedal (BOSS FS-7 or FS-6) to start (and possibly stop) a backig track (a .wav file saved in "track" memory)? Thank you.
In theory yes but in the past midi sync was not always possible with older loopers that could do this in theory also... I am curious to know whether somebody already tried this with the rc 500...
Whoa this is actually freaking amazing. I just did a looper performance on my page but I’m working my way up to this skill level right here(.....gunna be a bit of a climb lol) and your a single coil guy? Telecaster for life man 🤙🤙 you inspire me and make me want to quit at the same time lol
Hi everyone! I have an issue with RC-5 & Rc-505. When using the loopers as midi clock slave devices, synced to Maschine software, there are glitches / artefacts all over the place. BOSS recommends to turn Tempo Sync off for each track to avoid those issues, but this led to another issue (tracks start / skip bars / stop randomly). SO that was not a solution. I have contacted BOSS about this, they said they tested it with Ableton and it works fine, but in general their loopers dont like to be slaved. However, no matter how i put the MIDI settings on the looper, nothing helps. Is this also the case with RC-500?
Definitely Gonna Make Some Jam With This Cool Pedal I Don’t Believe I Can Touch What You Did But Hey It’s Gonna Be Fun Time At My House👍👍🎶🎶🎸Well Done J.
i just bought the RC500 and noticed an immediate problem. when i record a loop in either track and alter the tempo even slightly, it cause the loop soung to distort as a warble. i've updated the system version to 1.02 and turned off all loop FX, still the same problem. i've contacted Boss and waiting for an answer. do i have a defective unit or is this a product design defect?
Every single thing you play feels just right! You are probably the tightest player on the internet, together with Mark Lettieri. If you were new to the looping world what would you buy? RC-1? RC-5? RC-10R? Or that RC-500?
Im still trying to work out how to use it for drums and a loop just for guitar solo. I bought to play live, but now Im thinking it cant do what I want it to. I basically want it as drums, and mid-song guitar loop for the guitar solo. -Start a song on guitar -Start drums -Record a Verse loop (to solo over later) -Start loop and solo> Stop loop -play out the rest of the song -Stop drums Any tips very much appreciated!
You can unpair the drum machine and looper by holding on the second footswitch till the LED lights change color. That way you can start and stop your guitar loop without effecting the drum machine.
This demo is waaayyy better than that of official BOSS channel
Amazing demo Jay! It's beautiful to see a musician that's actually happy and smiley, instead of bored and buried in technical details. Made my day! Please keep up the amazing work!!
Really appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
A lot of youtubers need to take note of this format, play first, talk after.
A lot of those who do need to remember not to play too long at the beginning.
@@theystoleitfromus unless its slaps like this. then keep on playing.getting goosies listening

Dude... no one has this much fun doing a demo. Wildy infectious :)
I bought this looper because of this video and it is awesome. Why didn't I buy it before. Thank you man and the engineers
I really appreciate it! Glad this video helped you find what you were looking for :)

That intro track was so sick!
Thanks!
One of the few reviews so far that demonstrates/combines great playing and useful info about the features of the RC-500. Thanks
Wow why can't all demos be this awesome and joyously infectious? Nice work bro
Well damn Jay, how are any of us meant to follow that?
I think my demo will just be a direct link to this video.
Excellent work.
Haha, looking forward to watching your bro!
Serious talent!! Awesome demonstration !! Makes me want one 👍

That was the most fun I've had all week. That funk was great!!!
You deserve way more subs J
I appreciate it!
I had so many questions about this unit and your demo answered everything way better than the Boss demos. Great video, looks like a lot of fun 😊
Haha, really appreciate it!
If you have the enthusiasm and skill set that Jay has, you dont need this pedal😆. Yeah Jay! Shooootzzz!🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Hell yeah that was cool, loving the energy as well. Thanks for the inspiration, stoked to get mine!
Enjoy it! It's a great box :)

Geez this guy is gonna make me wanna buy everything he plays… great talent!

Great demo and awesome energy - can't help but be happy watching this!
how do you make it follow your tempo at ? 5:25
It's been a while since I've used the rhythm function, but I'm pretty it is an automatic function If you set the start perameter to "REC END". Good luck.
The intro track is just killer !!!
Thanks so much :)
One of the best looper demos ive seen. 👍🤘🏅
Wow! Thank you for this. What an awesome inspiring video.
Great opening jam 😎
you're a wizard lol, got me sold on it. again

Great video . I have one question ? How do I set the (Rhythm: Rec End feature having the RC-500 match the rhythm tempo to the guitar line ?
Excellent playing and excellent demo .....!!
Have one in the way just keep eating up these vids. Great demo Jay, I’m a believer!!
Awesome stuff man cheers.

Jay, You R Da BOSS (MAN).
Haha, thanks!
Bruh!!! You make it look easy and sound great! Woot!

I really like the way you demo. You're so jolly! Good vibes mate. Keep it coming
Great demo....great loop skills...I have a question...can you use the loop effects without an external foot Swich?...I mean can you use the pedal buttons to activate it?...
I believe so! You can reprogram the switches to perform almost any role you want them to :)
Great! fun and informative and to the point! Nicely done!!!
Hi, congratulations for the video!

Digging this man, you've got a great vibe. Can you recommend an easy to use midi pedal to go with the RC500? cheers
Loved the intro. Superb playing
You make it look so easy😃 and it ain't!!! Great demo thanks 👍
Man what the hell you doing on UA-cam you need to be on a stage somewhere?!
ThX Jay.
Truly amazing.
Brilliant. If the RC-500 had the drum fill capability from the RC-10R it would be perfect.
Can you connect two mono inputs at same time and route one for track 1 and the other for track 2?
Yup!
Finally, a useful review of this product!
Oh my gosh this playing.
Hey Jay, your latest fan and subscriber is here.
Thanks so much for joining the page!
very cool - thank you for your fun
Glad you enjoyed it
Great post Jay ! Thank you.
Can the RC-500 midi out be used to control the Beat Buddy tempo?
In theory yes but in the past midi sync was not always possible with older loopers that could do this in theory also... I am curious to know whether somebody already tried this with the rc 500...
can you mute input monitoring? so i can use as a loop fx with a mixer?
Dang!!! Sold man! Jay killin it as usual!
This is too good 😭. What’s the foot switch name that can act as a repeater
I have almost no sound when I connect it to stereo fx loop.
Can you please advise?
If anyone was on the fence before, this video convinced them to get it.
Really appreciate it! Rock on :)
great review.. are they gonna fix this rhythm problem sync with rc 10 r automatically sync with playing..
Finally this adress the issue with rc10r
yesss I hope they will fix it....

Thanks!
Man, I can't even get my head around the TC Electronic Ditto (their simplest version). 😁
Brilliant Demo mate
What settings do I need to match the guitar tempo with the drums please.?
Nice review. Hey is there a way to vary the decay of a loop? Like how
fast it fades out. Sometimes called aging on other loopers.
Loved this video and your playing! Do you give private lessons if I were to go to your city!?
Unfortunately not right now! Lots of lessons on the page though if you have the time to check them out :)
@@JayLeonardJ thanks for the lessons m8! I love em
How programmable is the drum machine? Can you put your own stuff into that? If not, how deep does it go with genres, time sigs, so forth?
Man o man! I’m sold
Definitely Gonna Make Some Jam With This Cool Pedal I Don’t Believe I Can Touch What You Did But Hey It’s Gonna Be Fun Time At My House👍👍🎶🎶🎸Well Done J.
Rock on and turn it loud!!
....Happy Jedi!! Back of the Net Demo!!
Hi Jay, Great video! May I ask how you set the kit to sync with your loop tempo as seen at 5:35?
in RHYTHM put START to REC END
Came for the product demo, stayed for the dudes performance, this guy is fuckin great at guitar
i just bought the RC500 and noticed an immediate problem. when i record a loop in either track and alter the tempo even slightly, it cause the loop soung to distort as a warble.

Hiya Jay... Do you know if the RC-500 can be set to use the two different tracks separately to compose & trigger between a bridge & chorus?
Im still trying to work out how to use it for drums and a loop just for guitar solo. I bought to play live, but now Im thinking it cant do what I want it to. I basically want it as drums, and mid-song guitar loop for the guitar solo.
-Start a song on guitar
-Start drums
-Record a Verse loop (to solo over later)
-Start loop and solo> Stop loop
-play out the rest of the song
-Stop drums
Any tips very much appreciated!
You can unpair the drum machine and looper by holding on the second footswitch till the LED lights change color. That way you can start and stop your guitar loop without effecting the drum machine.
@@JayLeonardJ Legend! Thanks very much mate!!
Congrats for this video! Just a question : is there a way to fade out the rythm track?
