I absolutely love when you show us stuff that doesn’t work out the first time because many times when you’re working on a project what you have in mind is not what you end up with at all. I love to watch your thought process. It’s wonderful thank you so much for sharing us, and it looks so much better.!

Thank you for taking us with you through the ups and down of this reno! So often, we only see the “perfect” renovations that work out the first time and that just isn’t the reality! Can’t wait for more of this 😊

It stinks you had to ditch your original plan, but I love that we got to see a real life color problem solved.
I vote for a patterned floor!

Well done 👏 I love that you also have to change things last minute but you show us that. Personally I’d go for a lovely stencil pattern on the floor to bring some bold pattern into the space but it’s looking fantastic 😍👏👏👏

I love how the bathroom turned out. I like the idea of dapping the floor like the sink maybe a little darker not to bold its small room the floor doesn't need to be the focal point the decor will do that

Thank you for caring that the whites match. And thanks for the real approach in saying the contact paper didn’t work. Renovations take time and so many video are “it’s just so simple” when it’s actually a journey. As always, lovely color sense and taste.

I think painting the floor white and then stenciling in black would be crisp and dramatic. The designs used on that concrete tile that’s so popular now would be perfect.

    Good save on the bathroom!
I’m going to be the odd one, according to the comments I have read already, and say to go for the travertine look on the floor as well! I think it will be far more simple to do and to touch up if that is needed down the road, and a more timeless look. However, it is YOUR home and you know what would bring you the most joy. :-)
Thank you for sharing your painting adventures. I have a brush in my hand more days than I don’t. 😁

That blue was so pretty, bummed that it didn't as well as you thought in that bathroom. However, the black is so modern and chic and really made the bathroom look really put together especially with the black accents. The final product looked sooo good! I'm glad you keep the trial and error in your videos, its just so realistic to have an idea not turn out exactly as planned. I think I would just paint the tile versus doing a stencil. Every stencil that I've seen people do just makes the floor super busy and you've set up that bathroom to be really calm and inviting.

I think a bold stenciled design on the floor with the soft white base color and black used for stencil would be great with the black vanity and door. The vanity looks amazing, so you can't go wrong with doing it again on the floor, but neither would stand out. Whatever you do just make sure you seal the floor well. I sealed my tiled sunroof with 5 layers of water based poly. 4 years later it still looks great.

Looks great, clean and fresh! The countertop looks super. Personally, I'd never paint the floor, too many issues with maintenance in a wet room. Rather why not warm the walls up ever so slightly so the floor doesn't seem like the odd man out. Still works withe the overall scheme.

  • @terrirojas2162

Peel and stick floor tiles until you decide? I'm one for pattern design on the floor even though that travertine look on the countertop turned out lovely! The tub and surround looked like a neutral/cool almond on camera. If so, then it's not that bad especially now with the dark cabinet and door and travertine countertop. To elevate it and create an even more cohesive look, I would replace the showered with a brushed nickel as well. What a beautiful transformation!!! I'm actually getting ready to paint our house, starting with the trim, baseboards, and doors, and also means bathroom cabinets will be the same color and I have been literally thinking to myself, "what would Katie do?" and here's today's video! Serendipitous! As ever, your work is beautiful. Congratulations on your new home! Can't wait to see what you do with the kitchen cabinets as I have those to do too... eventually.

Lovely makeover. As for the floor.....while I am certain you would choose a marvelous stencil, my vote is to continue the look you created for the countertop---it would maintain a sense of continuity for the small space, and render a curated, elevated vibe----in my opinion! LOL

Because the shower has a bit of a pattern to it, I'd keep the floor as a travertine look instead of a pattern, just to tie in the travertine on the counter. Patterns might make the bathroom smaller and draw the attention away from the whole room. Great room makeover Katie!! Love it!!

A beautiful little room, very refreshing scheme after all the stops and starts. (FYI, a small detail--I've found when hanging a picture, it really helps to use two nails a couple of inches apart--as long as they're absolutely level, they'll keep your framed picture level.)

  • @susanpassfield4135
    @susanpassfield4135 2 роки тому

Such a great improvement and it looks like low cost too. One mini suggestion: I changed my shower curtain rail from silver to black and I could not believe how it elevated the look of the whole room. Also, I know it sounds unconventional, but I also installed a black toilet seat with chrome hinges and it delivered the wow factor. Although patterned floors are beautiful, it might be too much in that small room.

Wonderful job bringing all these colour elements & textures together 👏
For me, I think doing the travertine look on the floor will bring things together perfectly. It's a small space & can easily be overwhelmed with patterns & imho cause a disconnect. Sometimes simplicity is soothing.

  • @purplewombat1923

The bathroom looks so much better now! I would do a white with black accents patterned floor rather than matching the vanity top. It will give you a nice contrast and match the other black accents in the room. I agree with Rebekah Schroeder that repeating the travertine look on the floor would be much easier to do but I think it would be too similar to the colour you already have on the floor. You need contrast to make it pop.

I was thinking would you consider a floor stencil on the tiles, that way you wont have to chop them up. I have seen beautiful floor stencils online gorgeous. Otherwise peel and stick tiles would look good too. I have seen you tubes on bath and wall tile resurfacing, would you consider that. The bath looks fine so maybe just a white resurface would do the trick. I love your work, and everything you redo turns out beautiful. Just lay down a groutable peel and stick vinyl flooring. Lay it down with extra adhesive and grout it. It will be super durable and look just like real tile. Its incredibly easy to do and will be way less of a headache down the road

I love the black & white. We just did the “kids” bathroom over since they have moved out for years now! Similar colors to what you chose 💕

I think a stencil design would look amazing! White base color and black or dark grey mosaic pattern 😍😍

You are amazing, Katie, you can do anything! And you helped me figure out exactly how I am going to set up the kitchen for the suite we are creating downstairs for my mother in law. Thank you so much!

Love it. Thanks for sharing that an initial vision doesn't always work. This turned out even better. I would suggest geometric look for floor.

I like the idea of a bold stencil design on the floor.

Great transformation. As soon as I saw that sink against the marble contact paper, I said oh oh!
I'm torn as to what should become of the floor. Will await your next video.

Good job jumping into plan b. I really do like your choice of black for the vanity cabinet and accents. The picture frame ties in the floor color (as it is now...lol) Terrific makeover!
