This is absolutely gorgeous and super unique! I love that colour!
Thanks Angie ❤️
I'll say it here for everyone to see, LOL!! Angie, you know I give you props on how you stage your projects when done but, I think this one time Katie took the staging prize, LOL!! You guys are both so freakin talented!!! Stay Blessed guys.
@@moneymakingmikeg.9555 hahaha! Katie is amaaaazing with staging! I honestly struggle a lot with it- definitely not my forte. Hahaha
I think I would have liked the wood a bit more natural or lighter like an aged pecan just to see the Graine a bit more. But you did a great job as always. I like the yellow! What a great pop of color! It'll look great in a boho setting!
This turned out so fantastic! I just about yelled out loud when i saw this video because I just picked up this EXACT same dresser for FREE and I've been at a loss on how to refinish it. You've inspired me, and i can't wait to get to work! I always love your content, you are a pleasure to watch.
You did a wonderful job, Katie, as you always do! A good omen, I think, that you found this piece on your first venture into the shops and for a great price! My personal opinion is that you leave the wood stained dark. Natural maple against that strong gold would be “meh.” You’ve hit on the exact right shades for this very ‘70s dresser.🌸
Omg I love this! That stain looks so good with that color. Smart move on mixing tobacco in with the boho. It took me 6 coats for full coverage when I brushed Bohemian. I scraped the jar clean! Are you keeping this for your new home!?
It's lovely! I see what you mean about the stain: I think the 3 coats kind of hid the grain of the wood - but on the other hand, if the wood colour was lighter, I don't think it would have had enough contrast against the yellow paint. I think it's great like this - but I'm pretty sure that if you decide to rework it, I'll decide I like the reworked version better. I think I just like EVERYTHING you do!!
Totally agree!!
While I’m not a fan of yellow and brown, I’m a big fan of your work and love that you picked up the dresser for $24 and gave it a new life. Hope you’re enjoying your new home and making lots of friends.
The colour combo is great. I think if you'd left the wood accents light, another paint colour would have been in order. Taupe? Dusty turquoise? Mauve? Thanks heavens YOU pick because I'd mess it up.
I love this piece Katie! The paint color and the stain complement each other so nicely.
I love this, Katie! That yellow you mixed up is really unique and cool. I love the contrast with the wood-it really suits the piece.
Wow Katie, that is a stunning transformation! I love the 70/80’s furniture! 👏👏👏
OOOOOOOOO Katie that’s the prettiest dresser I have seen in awhile!! Wow good job!
You’re so talented, I love your work ❤️
Katie...that is gorgeous...omg...the color contrast between the wood and golden color. Very well done.
Katie your project turned out like a piece of artwork! It’s absolutely beautiful!
I absolutely love this piece! The contrast between the paint color and the stain is awesome!
Has to be in my TOP 3 FAVORITES you've ever done!!! The second I saw you show it at he store I knew you were make something DOPE!!!! Hope you guys are settling in pretty well, Dirty Jersey out!!
This is so totally beautiful! Love the yellow with that brown stain. Awesome job.
Stunning Kate. Such a gorgeous, unusual piece. Thanks for sharing with us.
Love absolutely everything about this piece ❤ You did a great job just as always!
Katie! I just absolutely enjoyed how beautiful you made this look!😍
Gorgeous 😍 I LOVE that style of dresser.
It looks great with the stain. It would also look great natural wood. It all comes down to what you like. You're keeping it correct?
That turned out absolutely gorgeous.
Absolutely gorgeous, Katie! I LOVE the contrast between the paint and wood stained finish and the two colors combined made for such a unique color. At first I was with you about the stain, but once you put it all together I think it goes great with the dresser color, especially with those really cool handles.💜
I love how this turned out Katie! You do such awesome work.
Oh my goodness I absolutely love this dresser the color and the stain looks beautiful together you are awesome!
Love it and the color is gorgeous! Total retro style which to the right buyer will be loved and the showcase item in the room. I would love to know how quickly it sells and how much you ask for it and if you had to drop your price. Great job and amazing find at an incredible price!
Like this piece belongs in a surfers home in Venice Beach or something… And the staging ALWAYS on point!
I'm personally more the "light wood" type, but the combination of these colors suits this piece so well. Good job! 👍🏻😊
Love it! What a really cool find!! ❤️❤️
I like the stain color - bare wood would get lost against the body color. Melange Paint Bohemian Gold is one of my bucket list colors along with Palo Verde. This was a really fun make-over!
Absolutely LOVE this. The colour is way outside my comfort zone too but it is one of my fav pieces of yours now 😍😍😍
Katie, that colour combination of paint and stain is gorgeous! 70’s inspired all the way!
So unique! Glad you were able to keep the look. Great job, again, Katie! Love it 💖💖💖
Nice job! Not my color but it’s a great transformation, as always. You make it look sooo easy. 🙂
Cool, Katie! The colors remind me of the 70’s. Psychedelic
Very cool and retro! Love the color combo!
Wow! I love the retro color scheme! It’s perfect for that piece!
The stain color compliments the gold paint color. Beautiful!
I wasn’t a fan of the stain until you reassembled the dresser. It goes perfectly with the paint color!
That turned out great! When you were mixing the paints, I didn’t think I would like it but it is perfect for that piece.
Katie, that is gorgeous! You did an amazing job! Thank you for sharing! I love your channel. You and your family have a beautiful and blessed day! 🙏😊
Wow, what a deal on this dresser! I didn't think I was going to like the color scheme, but I really do, Katie!!
Very cool. Fun and so wonderfully retro. Excellent job.
Katie l love it! And l think the wood stain really compliments the paint color.
I like the stain color as it goes well with the paint, very autumnal look.
Absolutely stunning! Don't change a thing about it!!!
It's beautiful!! I love how it turned out! Have you ever used Briwax? I believe that it is from the UK ( I could be wrong) but it is a stain and wax in one. I have used it on a bunch of different pieces and I LOVE it. I have only seen 1 other youtuber use it. I'm in Canada too and have never found it at the big box stores but it is available at smaller hardware stores...At any rate lovely dresser! I love your channel!
I have tried it and one other stain/wax combo and I didn’t love the results. I’m sure it’s great if you can get it work but not for me.
When you first chose the colour I'm like hmm, then I time travelled back and was like OMG yes, Katie this piece is absolutely stunning.
The colour contrast brings out the architecture of this piece. Well done.
Excellent work. Also, you are one of few, wearing a mask or respirator. The people who work with paint, wood/sanding or resin, that don’t wear the proper PPE give the wrong impression to newbies. I just visited with someone new to using one products. She had no idea a respirator and goggles were needed. I greatly appreciate you showing no only your technique, but the need for proper PPE. Really nice work Katie.
That IS Groovy!!!! LOVE! ☮️ ✌🏼 💜
This is a beautiful transformation. I'm not normally a yellow fan, but that color is so fun, and funky!!! I love that you left the wood handles and the couple drawers wood.😊😊❤
Oh my that is absolutely stunning!!! Love the handles. Amazing find. Love the colour combi. x
Whoo! That's refreshing, really a humdinger. That yellow was so intense before the brown, but I really like it either way. It's amazing the treasures out there. ☕ 🍩 💙❤️
I am in love with those handles.
Totally love it just like it is. I’m a 70’s girl and it’s great!! Beautiful work.
Gorgeous as always! Love how you save pieces from the landfill and give them a beautiful new life ❤️
Another impressive transformation! Keeping stained drawer fronts combined with painted ones was a great choice. Just curious, do you ever spray when it's raining? Would extra humidity affect the finishes or just the dry time?
It’s beautiful, personally I wouldn’t change anything, the paint colour and stain compliment each other perfectly.
I really like it, Katie! Amazing transformation for $24, some imagination, and beautiful work.
This has to be one of your best salvages yet! Love, love, love everything about it. Well done Katie!
Don't know where your located but dressers like this come up free in Washington state all the time on offer up.
I get lots of freebies around here too, but I’m also happy to pay $25 for a good one now and then 😉
Very "Brady Bunch"....and that's a compliment!! Groovy!!
Katie, this is gorgeous! I like the dark wood. Did a quick poll here and 3 family members who watched voted dark. I can see the light wood too. You have such great taste that whatever you choose in the end will be 😍.
It's 'groovy' Katie! You did the 70's proud (I can say this as a child of the 70's) I love the way you do so many things and aren't afraid to try something - and then change it if you don't like it! It's the only way to grow and why you have an arsenal of techniques 😊
Just amazing! I'm so glad I started watching your videos you really do turn trash into treasure and have opened my eyes to possibilities I might have ignored in the past. Thank you for the inspiration!
So happy to see you are settled in and back to refinishing. Excellent work as always. I’ve been on vacation for a month, this inspires me to refinish my Lane cedar chest when we get home. I am going to paint it knowing if I change my my mind some day sand paper will remove the paint.
Definitely a 70's moment. I think it's fabulous. You must have the patience of a saint to do all that work.
I have followed you for some time I never comment, but I am fascinated by your work and this one in particular fascinates me my favorite color is yellow, this looks spectacular on with mustard yellow and the staun. Love it
This was a fabulous makeover! I was concerned about your choice of paint color but it really came together beautifully.
I love it. Very unique! Great job.
Love this❤️ The color is unusual but is fantastic on this piece. I especially like the drawer pulls. I see why you wanted this!
Love, love, love it! If it was up to me, I wouldn't change the wood colour.
Love it! It's very groovy and 70s and fun! Don't sand it back!
Wow Katie, turned out flawless. Thanks for sharing kind regards Gale x
Groovy!! Absolutely love it. Always impressed with your talent and vision.
LOVE IT! Just inherited several mid century pieces, however I live in a condo. Could you do/ recommend how to makeover furniture when you are a beginner AND have no outdoor space?
Here’s a good beginner video: Furniture Makeover For Beginners | You can do this!
ua-cam.com/video/Idxn40JXItM/v-deo.html
Make sure you’re wearing your a proper dust mask when you sand and crack all the windows if you use a shellac based primer like the one in this video but you can totally work indoors!
@@salvagedbykscott THANK YOU
I do agree with you about the stain colour - a little too red and competes with the paint rather than complementing. Maybe easier to change the paint? Love those handles, so posh looking!
I really love the muddy yellow paint paired with the brown stain.
I wonder what it would look like if the top row of drawer pulls were painted in that colour - would it be too gimmicky??
To be honest, at first I was not a fan of the color. But, the finished piece is beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Take care, stay safe.
Brillant work! Wow, you have vision cause I would have passed up this chest in the store.
Nothing short of stunning. I could tell in thrift store it was a gem. Amazing job!
I thought you had lost your mind in your move. No way would I ever like what you had in mind for this dresser and I didn’t like the finished product…I loved it. You have a talent!
😂 I did lose my mind, but sometimes that’s what you need to keep things fresh!
Well done. I'm not a brown fan, but don't think the natural wood tone would work with that lovely paint choice.
Beautiful! I love the wood stain against the mustard yellow. 😍
Another beautiful piece Katie! I love the retro colour choice, fitting of the piece.
Love this! 😍 I’m sure I say that about all your flips but they’re gorgeous!
I absolutely LOVE the stain color with the paint color!
You do great work. You are very knowledgeable. Beautiful work!
It really looks like 1970s. What did you do with it and how much did it all cost?
Looks fantastic!!!!! Love it!!!
I love the color of the wood for this piece! It looks authentic mid century to me! Good job!
I have a very similar dressed I want to paint white and leave the drawers stained - thank you for showing me how its done cause this is what I wanted. Cheers
Love the transformation and I hope Moncton is treating you well!
You hit that 70's nail right on the head! Great work🎉
Absolutely beautiful!😍
Love it! Change nothing!!! Well done Katie, another winner.
I think the natural wood color would look better with the yellow. Super cool piece!
I love the color of the wood. Yellow is not my fav color but it looks beautiful!
Katie! What a beautiful job you did. You are truly an artist! Love the color combination
What a beautiful job!!
