That is a beautiful foundation. I’m glad it’s not coming out until September because I just purchased a new bottle of foundation and I think with dry skin that the Guerlain will be nice for the colder months. Thank you for your in depth review. 😀😀😀

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I enjoy all of your videos. I have been looking for a new holy grail dewy/luminous foundation. I had not heard of the Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation or the Cle de peau radiant foundation until I started watching your channel. The Koh Gen Do is great and same price as the Armani. I got samples of the Cle de peau. It has the most beautiful finish but is double the price. A great foundation for special occasions. Too pricey for every day. Thanks so much for your videos. Especially the foundation wear tests. You save all of us the the time and trouble of trying all of these foundations. I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Yes! This foundation is now my HG. I found fingers are best to apply. Came out in Australia's David Jones as soon as it was launched, was shocked! SPF was not crossed over , even though Au is very strict with labeling of spf. In this foundation it comes from nano TiO2 . Those last 2 on ing list are just added pigments, they do not count towards SPF.

You know I’ve been waiting for this foundation since like January! So excited to see this collaboration, as well!!! Love you both so much. I need this foundation. It looks much closer to the wear of the La Mer fluid foundation. I’ve long enjoyed the Lingerie de Peau foundation, but I prefer the La Mer. This one looks like it might give that one a run for the money! I will have to drive to Canada. 😳
🤣 September will be here soon…? It’s perfect for this season so I think Guerlain missed out. But it’s so lovely. I think the coverage is lighter than La Mer but the finish is very similar! Radiant without the shine. 😘😘
Hi Michele! The oversight for SPF in Canada is much more strict than the US. Often the packaging will be the same but we'll have that sticker in Canada covering the SPF claims. I've seen it with YSL, Chanel and others.

So, immediately after your video using the Meteorites products, I went on a hunt for the meteorites and this foundation. I am in Montana so I knew there would be no place local and your video had mentioned it not being available here in the US yet, if ever. I found the products available on quite a few sites but none would ship it to the US. Anyway, I tracked the products down on Feel Unique and immediately placed my order. I am anxiously awaiting delivery as I love the look of this foundation. I am a meteorites lover and have a lot of the tins so I usually want anything related to the meteorites. I am so glad to see that you love how it wears and like you, I don't need a foundation to last for more than 10 hours. I am off to see Alicia's video although my skin type is more like yours. I have very dry skin but not particularly reactive. Thank you for the excellent review.

This foundation has grown on me a lot. In the beginning I was not convinced, due to the lasting power and how it was sitting on the skin. However mixing this foundation with Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiére Foundation makes this foundation combo my long wearing, natural and radiance "work" foundation. It lasts at least 12 hours on me and looks good at the end of the day. I have mature, normal combination skin.

Hey Michele, I love Alicia too she’s a little star and her videos are great. I’m so pleased you both collabed on this, I’m normal, dry and sensitive. I need to check this foundation out. I love Guerlain products, the parure gold foundation is beautiful but it irritates and breaks me out, not sure if it’s the scent or alcohol content but I’m the same with their meteorites products. Oh this looks like good one! Wish I’d grabbed it while we were in Europe but the fam vacay did not lend itself to any real shopping time.
I usually avoid fragrance in my foundation, but you make this one tempting! I’m looking forward to testing it after it’s available, maybe I’ll apply with my recently purchased Rephrase brushes!!

In other news, your manicure looks great! I don't think you wear dark nail polish often, made me think to go dark when I change up my gel manicure!

I tried this at Sephora and I liked it. I tried it at the end of the day, during the winter (it’s been available at Sephora in Toronto since Mar-April), on top of Olay face cream (with SPF) that I had applied at the beginning of the day. Since i applied the foundation at the end of the day, it was grabbing onto the dry patches. But the coverage was amazing and significant. If I had used a primer and applied it with the Guerlain brush (I used my hands at Sephora because they didn’t have any sponges), this would’ve been amazing. The clincher for me are the natural ingredients (supposedly) and the SPF.
I’ve heard this dry patch issue a few times now. I guess skin priming is very important with this one! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!!
Michelle .i went to Neimans & they didn’t have it 😢.. Guerlain products are if not one of my top 2 favs of makeup !! I’m 45 & so beautiful on the skin .. lol 16 hours!!! But see when wearing this line you. CAnt feel it’s in though .. that’s kind of makeup I luv & it gives me that !!! But it looks great in you !! Then again you have gorgeous skin .. i got a sample of this and wore it today. it was terrible :( it slid around my face and broke apart everywhere. looked very powdery and clung to my dry patches. i'm thinking i did something wrong when i applied it (i used the too faced hangover primer and applied it with a blending brush)... michelle, what are you wearing under it? just the flawless filter?

I love this foundation as well. Stateside we can order from selfridges.com. It's also cheaper from there than it will be buying here locally. This foundation is great for us 40 something gals with normal to drier skin types. I agree with you, Michele, I typically steer clear of fragrance in my foundation too, but it is very light & clean. You don't notice it at all. Great review as always!

That scent of the foundation sounds amazing and I want it in a perfume. Speaking of perfume have you seen Michele Pfiefer (sp?) has a new perfume line called Henry Rose? It’s a transparent perfume company that is not hiding their ingredients , a first ever according to them. I was lucky enough to receive their full line in samples and I am pretty much obsessed.
I hope you will do a follow up and say where this foundation ends up on your foundation favourites list.

I think it's a pretty solid neutral. It's not as "gray" as the La Mer Neutral 22 shade though.

How would you rank this between the Armani Luminous Silk and the Koh Gen Do? Thank you.
It has less coverage than the luminous silk, and I find I have to set down that foundation. I don't have to set down this or the KGD foundation. I do get very dewy, but it's not quite as crazy as the GA by the end of the day. This is a bit creamier than the KGD, and I find the finish to be very similar!
The Guerlain site says you are to pat skin with the brush, apply some face oil and then apply Essentiel with the brush

I love the finish of this but I actually think the fragrance is way too strong for me. The scent lingers on my face and I can smell it for hours. I guess I just have a sensitive nose :(. I wish they didn’t add fragrance to it.

Sunscreens are considered 'drugs' of a sort in Canada and have to meet different regulations to be approved for the SPF label. We used to not get these products at all, but now they tend to just cover the SPF with a sticker and not mention the sun protection in advertising. So the product still has the SPF, we just can't claim it. Lol.
I was interested in this foundation but I think it only works for the dry skin and my skin is oily on the T zone so, I'll pass on this time with this product, by the way... your skin looks so flawless with this foundation, thanks for share 💖

You're the first person I've seen who likes it. I tried it a few months ago and it looked horrible on me. It's very hard to blend as it's very thick. It was the first foundation that accentuated all my lines and etc so bad. And I'm 18 I didn't even know those things existed. Also the shade range is not good as always with Guerlain. I'm very pale and there wasn't my shade. Same with their bronzers. I really wanted to get routes des indes but it's just pure orange. Sad.
