In today’s video I will review the NEW GUERLAIN L’Essentiel 24H wear High Perfection Foundation. I have been wearing the new Guerlain L’essentiel foundation for three days before filming the review.
The new Guerlain L’Essentiel foundation contains 96% naturally-derived ingredients. According to Guerlain it is enriched with skin protecting & beauty boosting ingredients. The key ingredients in this foundation are:
Extracts from both Tara and red algae gums; Porcelana Cocoa Bean Extract; and Vegetal Silk extract. L’Essentiel is supposed to offer 24 hour wear velvety matte finish coverage without a mask- like effect.
*My Experience with the new GUERLAIN L’Essentiel 24H wear High Perfection Foundation
The new Guerlain L’essentiel foundation feel lightweight on the skin and it easily offers meadim coverage. The foundation doesn’t settle into pores and fine lines but you have to work quicky with a brush to blend the foundation. I find that the foundation works best when applied with a brush. I tried using the foundation with fingers but I don’t get the same flawless effect.
If you have dry parched on you skin, the foundation might emphasize these areas. On my skin the new L’Essentiel foundation has natural finish. It looks like skin. It Guerlain L’Essentiel 24H wear High Perfection Foundation looks good on my skin for approximately 8 to 10 hours. After that it starts to beak and settle into imperfection and pores but it’s not too frustrating.
Overall the new GUERLAIN L’Essentiel 24H wear High Perfection Foundation is a good product and I like it but I will not repurchase this foundation.

Hello dear Angela :) I haven't tried this foundation yet( I'll ask a sample in my beauty shop) but your opinion is very helpful for me. I don't like "visible" foundations on my face and don't need full coverage. By the way, do you know Guerlain's Les Voilettes Translucent Loose Powder Mattifying Veil? For me it's gorgeous! It's invisible on the face, very fine, makes a face look healthy, subtly glowing, natural (and this delicate violet scent so characteristic for Guerlain).My makeup lasts more longer with this amazing powder. Why is so little about it among beauty reviewers? Have you, Angela, tried it yet? Please, let me know your opinion about it :)My best wishes for you. xoxo

I have not tried this foundation, I don't understand, why would lux brands add alcohol to the ingredients :( and there is Aluminum as well, so I'm just cautious to be honest.
I have dry and sensitive skin, so I skip pretty everything with Alcohol in it. Especially I can't apply it under my eyes. Dose this foundation work good for you there?

Angela, the foundation looks beautiful on you. The Dior primer side does look better. I have the old Guerlain foundation and like it. It is more coverage foundation so definitely not for people who want their skin or freckles to show. 😊 I may try the new one just because I have combo skin. Thanks Angela for reviewing this foundation with the new Dior primer as I was interested in both products. As I live in Australia neither of these products are available here as yet so I would have to purchase off Selfridges website at this stage which is something to think about at this stage.
Hi Angela, You look so pretty. I have not tried either Guerlain Foundation though I do think that I will eventually. I'm always looking for natural ingredients. Lately, I'm enjoying Lancome Teint Idole; perfect shade match, lasts all day, and I don't feel like I'm wearing foundation. Have a wonderful day!

I bought this recently from the Guerlain website. I have extremely oily skin and I did NOT like it at all. It went on like a clay mask, as you said I could feel a heavy layer of makeup on my face that stayed tacky and never really dried until I took it off. It also oxidised and looked orange 🍊 a few hours later. I am so upset I wasted so much money instead of buying something else. Guerlain foundations don't work for me. I will stick to Shiseido, Chanel and occasionally YSL.
What are your thoughts on mature (normal) skin? How odd that it wears off on your skin. It looks really lovely on your skin, but nearly everything looks beautiful on you!
Exactly , agree 💯 percent,it’s a very nice foundation that perfects my skin, and I like it, but it does give more coverage than my regular day to day foundations, but I still like it 🤷🏻♀️ I wear it over my skincare and spf and it wears well for 12 hours, overall, I’m happy with it, it’s not my top favorite, but I like the fact that it has more natural ingredients etc. I will use it up just like I’ve used my 16 hour Essentiel but I might not repurchase it . I have not tried both foundations yet but Guerlain parure gold foundation and powder foundation which are really good but not that long lasting. I heard their new radiance formula is long lasting so would love to try that and this l’essential matte one you showing here. Since we’re going to have to wear a face mask every day for who knows for how long this pandemic 😷 would be on going I guess a long lasting and mask proof foundation is needed. Hi dear ,I am using old guerlain l'essentiel foundation but without the primer, as I mentioned once that this old foundation is heavy on my skin and its not my every day foundation kind but still I am loving and wearing it the reason is I want to finish it within short period so that I can go for new foundation, thank you for this review, this new one best suit in summer season,I never tried primer but I plan to buy one ,as you said you love new dior primer so I also want to try that primer once it hit my country ☺,thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Sorry to be adversary, but I do not follow the concept that a foundation can be used as a concealer or used under the eyes because the ingredients are natural. 🧐 Even concealers with all natural ingredients can settle in to fine lines and wrinkles or be otherwise unsuitable by causing dryness, irritation, etc. Other than that, thanks for reminding me about this foundation. Your review leads me to believe the old version would be better for me. And the bottle is so pretty!
So it’s transferable ( rubs off), you didn’t say if it’s self setting, meaning no powder. I’m all about saving steps so no.

Hello Gloria :) We all have different preferences when it comes to fragranced products. This foundation has the same scent as the previous one. I know that many people were repulsed by the fragrance and couldn't use it. So it's not only you. A lot of people complain. xoxo

I tried the 16h version, but i just couldn't get behing the smell! it was ghastly for me😔 I was never sensitive to any fragrance, but this on really just hit me in a way, I tried applying it but it just lasted on me I had to wash it off... I was so sad it didn't work out🥺...

I find the previous one too dry so this will be drier still, same for Sisley's new one last year. I have a problem finding my foundation or one I like as they are too thick and drying
Hello Josephine :) Have you tried the La Mer foundation? (If you haven't you should definitely get a sample first because it's quite pricey) but I think it's a good one. Also the Sisleya foundation is very nice (but again I would suggest sample first); and maybe my most favorite will be Dior Capture Totale Serum foundation - it always makes my skin feel very good. These are some suggestions that I have. But since all of these are pricey I would suggest trying to get samples first.
I have to try the new Chanel Sublimage foundation soon. I have high hopes about it. xoxo

Maybe it's the camera, but I don't like the high coverage foundation on you. I feel like it covers your natural glow as well. It's so strange that it isn't matte, like at all.
Hello Jessie :) It's not the camera. I have the same impression. Medium and high coverage foundations don't look good on me.
