Great video!! I had the same codes and replaced the batwing. This piece was very expensive in my country ( $3000 New Zealand) and i ended up buying a genuine part for 1100 in Lithuania but was going to take 35 days shipping, i purchased that and i found a cheap chinese one in Australia for $300 that would take a week to arrive and bought that to get my car on the road again. The genuine has arrived and ill replace if the chinese one has issues. Thanks for your video

Hi. Never glue broken things back into the inlet air. It may fly into your engine with total failure.

Hi Ken, Thanks for sharing! I wonder if you could have used a Dremel to carefully cut out the MAF sensors, clean them and then put them back in by plastic welding them back in with an old soldering iron? Cheers Drew

hi, I thought about doing that but since I already broke the plastic pieces and there was no guarantee the cleaning would work I just bought a new one. 😅

Hi Ken, Thanks for sharing. My GLE350D got the same problem, Can you kindly let me know where did you get the part please? The local dealer charge 3,500 AUD for it. Thanks.

hi, I got mine from fixparts-online.com for £850. and I had to pay imports tax (AUD$311) because it was over AUD$1000. My part number was A6420901642. You can get part number for your car by entering your VIN at partsouq.com. also try partsnavigator.com.au

    Hello
I recently purchased a 2013 ML350 bluetec diesel model. He has 180,000 miles on it and I can't be sure if the previous owner has cleaned the engine carbon. I have some hands on skills, how do I determine if this car has serious carbon build up and is there an easy way to do this?

Hi, I haven't done that myself, but the only way is to remove the intake manifold to check. It's a big job though. Unless there's indication of a problem I wouldn't do it.

@@kenkanfix Thank you very much for your reply.
Do you use additives to eliminate or alleviate the carbon problem when using a diesel car? As this is my first time buying a diesel car, I am not quite sure about the properties of diesel.

Did you have to relearn the MAF?

Hi Ken, thanks for the video. Did replacing the full sensor fix the issue for you after all? I have the same error code and wondering if I could do this repair myself.

hi, yes replacing the sensor with the bat wing air intake fixed the issue.
