Postnatal Yoga For Nursing Mothers ♥ Back, Neck & Shoulder Yoga Stretches ♥ YogaCandi

- Welcome to this quick postnatal yoga flow for nursing mothers, nursing our babies can be one of the most bonding, heartwarming and wonderful experiences a parent can have, but it does come with its aches and pains, am I right mamas?
***A little side note to any mums doing this class that have been diagnosed with Diastasis Recti - I recommend you avoid plank and even low lunge if you notice any coning happening in your abdomen, if you see this happening firmly hug your belly back towards your spine and slowly come out of the pose taking a gentle resting posture like child's pose, or stay in downward dog until the next asana begins.
I have been breastfeeding my baby boy for 7 months now so back pain, neck strain and
shoulder pain have definitely set in due to bad posture and trying to get my boy latched on correctly, it's inevitable and hard to avoid. So thank goodness for yoga! Together we can use yoga to counteract bad posture, to release muscle tension and free the body and mind from stress, but I'm aware that time is precious and scarce with a little one in tow so that's why I've created this postnatal yoga video to be short and sweet enough to fit in while baby naps, or while a loved one takes care of them for 20 minutes. I do hope you enjoy this class mums, please let me know how you got on in the comments below, if you have any video requests that can help you on this incredible journey of parenthood then do let me know and I'll do my best to get it recorded for you. If you know any other parents that would benefit from this yoga class then share, share and share again, all those little gestures check this channel running.
Enjoyed this class? Why not try my hour-long post-natal stretch - • Gentle Yoga Stretch Fo...

Yes to sitting too much and scrolling on phone! Enjoyed the stretches (especially for the wrist!) the commentary about the tears and joy of nursing ;)
Hey Zoe, welcome mama, and thank you so much for taking the time to join me on the mat. It's wonderful to hear you enjoyed these stretches, and oh yes the wrists are so often forgotten but it feels so yummy when we give them some much needed tlc. Sending you and your little baba love and light, Candace x

Amazing to hear that, Corinna, how old is your little one now? Sending love 🙏
I rarely comment on anything. However, I would like to express my gratitude for this video. Was suffering intense shoulder and upper back pain due to breastfeeding. I’ve been practicing this flow for several weeks and it is exactly what I need every morning. Candi, you are so delightful and calming. It truly is so pleasant to hear and watch you. Your manner of speaking is warming. Thank you for all you do and I will definitely be checking around your channel (when I have the time to do so, lol).
Joanne, thank you so very much for your wonderful rare comment. So glad you enjoyed it, Jasmine, thank you for taking the time to join me. Wow, 6 years is a very long time go be bf but how amazing, the bond is the best thing ever. My boy is 18 months now and we're still going strong. 🙌 Sending your family love and light 🙏
This is magic! I found this 6 months into breastfeeding and have kept coming back, 3 years on! It continues to give my back, shoulders and hips relief even though I'm no longer breastfeeding. It's the perfect reset for my body. Thank you Candice! Love your channel 💜
Ah, Eleanor, thank you for this wonderful comment, it's comments like this that make it all worth it. I'm so glad this sequence has been so enjoyable and helpful to you. I hope you continue to enjoy the channel as your child grows and your strength and energy restores. Sending bigs hugs 🤗

Ah, Simona, you're so welcome, I'm so pleased it helped you. So hard to find time for self-love as a mama, so well done. Sending lots of love 💕
I enjoy your channel, and I still come back to this video often. I’m still breastfeeding and have long nights - this is exactly what my achy body needs, and often all it can handle! Thanks for making accessible content for beginners and moms working to build back strength!
Hey Rachael, so glad this class has been a go-to for you during these delicate early baby years. Breastfeeding can most definitely leave us with many aches and pains. So happy you're finding time for self-love. Sending love and light 🙏💕
Best nursing yoga I’ve taken! Thanks! Love the arm stretch for us being on our phones!
Thank you Holly, that's the sweetest thing to say, and oh yes we end up with text neck and hands for sure. Hope you continue to enjoy the channel. Sending love to you and your family 🙏
This was lovely, a great way to stretch and open my neck back and shoulders. Trying to do this a couple of times a week as I'm so stiff and achy at the moment. Thank you!
Hey Kelle, well done mama, I'm sure your body is thanking you for yoga. It's so hard to find time to do these things for ourselves so well done mama! 🙌 Sending you and your family love. 🙏

Amazing....bravissima come mamma io aveva bisogno....mi hai aiutato molto e ti seguirò sei bravissima...Grazie di cuore per la tua lezione
Absolutely love this video! I've been nursing (or pregnant) for 5 years. My husband and I started doing yoga together and this is our absolute favorite yoga video. We feel better and more relaxed every time we do this one!
Wow, Sylvia your body has been through a lot over these last 5 years then, well done to you and your husband for spending time on some self love, and thank you for spending that time with me, so glad you've found this class so helpful. Sending you both love and light x
Liked this yoga practice a lot. I am breastfeeing for 2,5months now and have very heavy shoulders and lower back.
This morning yoga helped me wake up and feel a bit releaved before the day ;)
I'm so glad this helped you, breastfeeding is such a beautiful thing to be able to do, but it does come with it's aches and pains. Really glad you found time for yourself 🙏💕
A friend recommended this and I'm loving it! My baby's 2.5months old and all the sitting and hunching gave me a bad back ache which is slowly going away as I follow your class. Thanks alot!
Ah, that's so awesome, welcome Farida 🙌 I feel your pain, nursing our babies and even when playing with them can make us stoop as we try to get down to their level, amazing what a little bit of yoga can do 😉 Keep it up mama, and if you haven't already, subscribe to the channel and click the bell for notifications of new videos. I'll be making a whole lot more postnatal classes to help mums wind down, strengthen up and stretch out 😉 Sending love and light your way, Candace 😊🙏
This class is really helping with my breast feeding induced back pain. Thank you!

Amazing to hear that Scott, thank you for joining me 😊🙏
Exactly what Ive needed! Been following this video 3-4 times/week...it's really helping my nursing aching back. Please make more targeted 10-20 min routines fit new moms 😀
Thank you so much for joining me, I'm so happy this class is helping so much. I have created a post natal playlist for new mums to enjoy, just make sure you read descriptions as not all are suitable for Diastsis recti (Ab separation) - ua-cam.com/play/PLN2XZMIEHTObA9gw4zawiaLSNJ3FI_S3G.html. And I most certainly plan to create a few more postnatal flows 🙏
Thanks I really feel light now 🥰
You're welcome, Sopo, thank you for joining me 🙏
I loved this video. It really made me relax after so many months of nursing and holding my baby. I will try to do these exercises every morning cause it is so relaxing and feeling so good.
Ah, mama, I feel ya, I still get bad shoulders and back from breastfeeding, all I want to do is hunch over my little baby, craddle him, smiff his head and kiss him when he nurses, haha! Definitely a great way to gently stretch those hard to reach areas and it's so important as a mother to spend even just 5 minutes on self-love, proud of you for taking that time, it ain't easy. Speak soon and let me know how you get on. Sending love to you and your little one xoxo
Thank you it's really good to find movements that answer this moment of motherhood ! great discovery ! i'm still breastfeeding my soon he's 16 months, so i needed this yoga so much ! thanks again

You're so welcome Anne, thank you for joining me 😊🙏
This was exactly what I needed! Had my baby three weeks ago and this was the first time I attempted any form of movement. Thank you so much!
Oh wow Sarika, CONGRATULATIONS! How are you feeling, is this your first baby? And you're so welcome, I'm really glad this class was accessible to you. Sending you and your little one love and light 🙏🏼
@@YogaCandi Thanks for the sweet response and good wishes! Yes, it's my first little peanut :) I've been going for walks and now have added this class in the mix. Won't do much else before my 6 week follow up, but I was super active throughout pregnancy so it's really nice to be moving again--especially with all of the (stationary) breastfeeding
Same here, my baby is a month old and it feels SO GOOD to move again! Thanks Candi, really appreciate your thoughtful and accepting approach to doing this activity with a postpartum body and a newborn in the vicinity =)
Same
@@Valaraiya ah, you're so welcome, and so sorry I'm just seeing this message. Really glad you're enjoying this class so much 😊🙏
I just love this class! Have been doing it regularly during my breastfeeding months. A nice and calm routine with a lot of stretch for the upper body.
Hey Ann, so wonderful to hear you've been enjoying this class for sure a long time, I'm so glad it's been bringing so much relief to those breastfeeding aches and pains. 🙏💕
Wowwww. The best postnatal yoga :)) I will definitely return. You actually take your time and I’m able to follow you. Whereas other yogis rush they’re moves. I loveeee it. Thankyou so much !! I would love if you posted more videos on lower back pain, I couldn’t bend over with straight legs because my back seems like it will spasm and lock :( one time I bent over to get the baby and it was hard for me to stand up straight. It was scary and painful. If you can post more videos for lower spine that would be amazing:)
Thank you so much for your beautiful words, Sidney. It's wonderful to have you joining me. I have an aches and pains playlist you may find helpful. Here's the link ua-cam.com/play/PLN2XZMIEHTOaY7WLN_NpBUMA5cL4mb6T3.html... Hope you continue to enjoy the channel. Sending love and light 🙏
Wow this was exactly what I needed!! Thank you so much ☺️
So glad to hear that, and you're so welcome, thank you so much for joining me 🙏
Thanks a lot! It really helped!
Woohoo, so glad it did, Elena 🙏
Aww Candi, that was so wonderful and just what my achey body of a 10 week old needed. First yoga session since birth, and I feel so very stretched and relaxed. I smiled along to your comments 'baby with husband, 'scrolling through phone' - all of which are my life now. Thank you again for this wonderful video, I can't wait to do another!
Ah, Natalya, isn't it crazy how life changes after having a baby, it's bc before child and ac after child for sure 😉 So glad you found some you time, not easy with a tiny human, but it's gold dust when you do find a moment. Sending you and your family love x
Love this flow, thank you Candi!
So glad you did Sarah, thank you so much for joining me :)
Thank you so much! It was wonderful! 🙏
My absolute pleasure lovely mama :)
Had my baby one week ago and this helped me so much connect with my body again. Thank you so much!
Ah, first of all CONGRATULATION MAMA! How you feeling in yourself? It's amazing you've already found the time and energy to hit the mat for some self-love, so proud of you mama bear. Sending love and light, Candace 🌸🙏🏼
Thank you for this practice! I'm currently 6 weeks postpartum, breastfeeding, and just discovered your channel. I can't wait to check out your other postnatal videos. Your voice is so calming, and this was the perfect way to get back into my yoga practice.
So amazing to hear that, thank you for commenting and letting me know, it means so much. Here's a link to my other postnatal classes, let me know how you get on - ua-cam.com/play/PLN2XZMIEHTObA9gw4zawiaLSNJ3FI_S3G.html. Sending love to you and your family 🙏
Thank you so much for this awesome video! Exactly what I need as a nursing mama with a sore back. ♡
You are so welcome, Zuzi, nursing can definitely cause a tight neck, back and shoulders, so glad this class helped you :)
I love this !!! Beautiful!
Thank you, Stefanie 🙏
This got me into yoga. I felt so much better everyday after doing these excersizes while nursing
So amazing to hear that, Adara. Hope you continue to enjoy the channel. Let me know how you get on. Sending love and light to you and your baba 🙏😊
My baby is 15mos now and still breastfeeding her. Tried cardio and other yoga but i go back to this simple yoga once in a while. This always gives me a nice stretch. Back pains always go away after doing this. 💕
Hey Rachelle, congratulations on 15 months of nursing, I'm still going at 2.5 years and its the best comfort for us both. I'm really glad to hear you return to this video when your body most needs it. If you'd like other video requests do let me know 🙏
Has made such a difference to my aching body after a year of breastfeeding and dealing with the challenges of the pandemic.... Thank you ❤️
I'm so happy to hear that, Samatha, breastfeeding definitely takes it's toll. Btw, really awesome to know you've breastfed for a good year, the cuddles are the best aren't they. You won't believe it, but I'm still going and my boy is 20 months. He's almost done but letting him choose. Hope you continue to enjoy the channel beyond breastfeeding. Sending love and light to you and your little one xx
Amazing - I feel like a new woman after this!! Thank you, namaste 🙏🌱
So good to hear that, Rebecca, it's here for you anytime you need renewing 🙌💕
Woo thank you! I just tried this for the first time. It is just what my hips and surrounding muscles needed.
Hey Amanda, thanks for joining me lovely, so happy you enjoyed this flow and found it hip releasing. How old is your baba now?
My daughter just turned 7 months, and I am still breastfeeding. I mostly feed her in the side lying position, which still really hurts my shoulders. This was a nice stretch that I will definitely use again.. Thank you!!
Amazing, Sarah, so glad your breastfeeding journey is still going strong. It doesn't come without side effects, so it's wonderful to hear you found time to do something for yourself. Love and light 🙏
@@YogaCandi thank you for your thoughtful response! So far so good with the breastfeeding and baby led weaning attempts hehe. It is difficult to find time for stretching, but I can usually sneak it in after she goes to bed at night. Great sequence! Namaste xo
LOVED this video! I am 5mo pp right now and this was exactly what I needed
You're very welcome, Jennifer, thank you for joining me 🙏 Heres a link to my postnatal playlist - ua-cam.com/play/PLN2XZMIEHTObA9gw4zawiaLSNJ3FI_S3G.html. Hope you continue to enjoy my channel 🙏
This was exactly what I needed! Feeling so achy 5 months into breastfeeding. This video left me feeling soothed and relaxed
How wonderful, I love that his class has given so many mums relief. I know exactly how you feel. You're doing an amazing job and giving your little one so much comfort and nutrition, well done mama 🙏
Thank you! Such a good feeling right now!
Woohoo, that's what mamas deserve 🙌
So thankful for this channel, excellent content! 🙏🏽
You're welcome, and thank you for joining me 🙏
Oh my goodness you're amazing!!! Four months pp and I finally felt myself release in some ways for the first time since my baby's been born. I'm EBF and appreciate this so much. Thank you!!
Ah, I hear ya Bethany, our world suddenly becomes almost completely about baby, it can be so hard to find time or motivation for self-love. But, well done you for making space for yourself. It's so wonderful to have you joining me, and I really hope you continue to enjoy the channel. Sending you and your family love and light 🔆 🙏
Perfect length for a quick break away from baby to attend to some of momma’s needs for relaxation and flexibility in the early postpartum period. Thank you!
Thank you Brittany 🙃 So glad you enjoyed it so much and found the time for it, not easy with a little one 😉
This has been such a great end of the day yoga for me. So happy to have found your video, little one is 9 months and still breastfeeding strong. Really helped me get stretch out my aches and pain!
So wonderful to hear that, and even more wonderful to hear breastfeeding is going strong. It's such a beautiful way to comfort and feed our baby's if we can. I'm still breastfeeding my 18 months old, never thought I'd breastfeed for so long, but we both love it so why stop 😉
This is exactly the stretch routine that I need. Nursing my Son is making my shoulders and neck tight.
Oooo yes, Caroline, nursing a baby certainly does take its toll. So glad you found some time for self-love. It's not easy to do with a little one. Sending love and light 🙏
Just what I needed. Thank you!
You're do welcome, Taryn x
Thank you! Exactly what I need!
You're so welcome, Nina, really glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for joining me 🙏
