- Learn how to Monitor audio sources in OBS at a different volume then the stream! With the Audio Monitor Plugin and the Windows Audio Capture plugin of OBS you can separate audio sources and monitor them at different volume levels! This video will teach you how to split audio sources like Discord, Music, and Browsers in OBS. Thank you this seems to work like a charm (although I haven't tried it on stream yet)! It took me a couple seconds to figure out that you need at least two output devices for the monitoring thing to work (like making your playback device your speakers so you can mute them and your monitoring device your headphones) but still this video was very helpful!

i wanted to seperate my audio from my recordings and videos i watch while playing games this worked thank you, you've earned my sub brother, keep up the good work.
Followed your instructions as stated in order to strictly monitor audio from OBS but all I get this audio doubling that's impossible to miss. When lowering the volume with the Audio Monitor filter, all it does is lower one of these "doubled sources" while keeping the other track normal like I never added a filter, and am just listening to it as an ordinary desktop source (organized with win-capture-audio).

@TheFranswah Studio Any advice or idea on how to fix the problem with audio crackling/ sounding choppy after adjusting the headphone output sliders a few times, restarting OBS is a way to fix it but obviously this isn't really a viable one. It's a shame really I've gone through all the other setup and really liked the ease of use and convenience of this setup, I tried the Voicemeeter setup with VB cable but it kept crashing my windows and the output sliders wasn't actually changing the output volume to the stream so was really hoping to get this one to work :(

Is it possible to play audio out of two devices with this? One reason I kept Voicemeeter was so that I can play audio through 2 headphones at once (for my friend and I to both use headphones at the same time late at night instead of using my speakers)
I was troubled about how to do this to the Desktop audio, which was the source i wanted lowered on my headphones but the same for the stream, and couldn't find a way to do it... then I remember I use a freaking audio interface with its own audio output, so i just needed to lower the volume there (doh!), but I still don't know how I could have split outputs from OBS if I didn't have the interface.
Is there a way to control the volumes in touch portal as well similarly to Voicemeeter? I used your tutorial for setting up VM and it went great then you demonstrated the obs plugin to separate audio and wen that route. I definitely enjoyed being able to control the volume with touch portal and just wondered if there is that level of control for these plugins or with obs
Yes, if you setup this plugin you can control the sliders for the volume source from Touch Portal for the OBS sources.. Im not sure as the plugin control.. there are filter controls in OBS but not sure there will be volume controls via this plugin.. would only be able to adjust the source volume which would be the output to stream
i am tempted to go back to obs 27 (when it worked perfectly) because it is so damn buggy in obs 29

i get a problem using this plugin that recently occurred, randomly, any audio that is captured using this plugin (not my microphone) becomes stuttery/choppy during my livestreams, its also impossible to tell without going back to listening to the entire thing or a chatter letting me know that there is a problem, if I alt tab out of my game and go back into it, it seems to fix for a bit before breaking randomly again, would you know how to fix this?
I've also got this problem!!! Once I've changed the headphone output sliders a few times just goes all choppy and crackly robotic like :( it was fine when I first downloaded it months ago) any luck fixing it??

I’m trying to decide if this would be worth it since I’ve already got voicemeeter setup with dual pc’s and touch portal control 🤔
Honestly, with where the tech is going I’ll be surprised if streamers are using VM in 5 yrs.. its a good idea to make the switch it just may take time.. the latency benefits of this setup are tremendous and talk about removing the crackling/static issue

do you have music duplicated on multiple devices? You have to create a source for everything.. meaning you cant have a desktop source
but isnt one of the benefit to VM is outside your stream controlling volumes also... This way is just for your stream setup which I get....but if you're streaming and want control of lets say discord volume then this way want help will it or like myself..I have my stream volume for folks that hear that but I don't want to hear the game so well i have it turned off in VM and I can adjust how loud I hear people in my headset in discord from VM but my stream I can control their volume for stream...I hope that makes sense lol.....thanks...
Yeah if you want that control on your desktop that is a huge benefit of voicemeeter. From what I understand most of my users use voicemeeter mostly for streaming and this purpose and this is a great fix for that
The Audio Monitoring plugin and steps you went through (turning the desktop slider volume down to mute) do not work for wireless headsets or any headset for that matter that is directly plugged into the computer as that is where the playback source is going in order to be heard.
My game crashes when I do this.
What game are you playing? This is not normal.. are you sure you have the correct plugins installed?
@@TheFranswahStudio Fortnite, I've made sure it's the plugin that's the problem. I delete the app audio capture for my game then my game runs fine, I add it back then my game crashes within a couple minutes. I looked on the github issues section and it seems a few others have the same problem.

When I try to add application audio capture (beta) I don't have options for mode and it forces me to set the capture to a specific game. The two options available are "Window - [SearchHost.exe]:Search" and "Window Match Priority" none of the options pick up game sound
