Unfortunately there are still the microtransactions and the excessive grind necessary to get what you want in GT7 in contrast to former GTs. But this still applies to both versions. Interestingly enough Sony "revealed" the microtransaction not right away, but after all mayor critics made their reviews. That's why the metacritic score and positive/negative ratio differs so much between critics and users . Apart from the game itself, great video on the PS4 version.

I just bought a second hand PS4 Pro because the 5 is way overprised at the moment (750/900 euro's in the Netherlands. The PS4 pro is good enough to play this game
I got the PS4 Pro version and honestly at 1800p resolution, it looks and runs great, i went with the Series X as my next gen system, it's nice that i can still play some Sony exclusives that have received quality PS4 version such as Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 and i'm sure the new God of War will look great on PS4 as well.
I am playing on my PS4 Pro and PS5. Either version is fine, but I am surprised at how much I enjoy playing on PS5 with the dual sense controller. The haptic feedback is amazing, better than any other racing game I have played on console with a controller. On PS4 Pro, I can play with my Accuforce wheel and HE pedals using the GIMX software, which is great, but the graphics are a clear step down, plus the PS4 version has stutter at times.
@@drewywgx924 I know, right? That was my bias until recently. For more arcadey racing games like Forza Horizon 5, GRID Legends and GT7, I prefer the controller because I can just chill on my couch and relax. That being said, for sims like iRacing I can only play with a wheel and pedal set in VR using my HP Reverb G2.
I bought the 25th anniversary edition, so i got the ps4 and ps5 version. I am playing it on the ps4 currently runs good. 1080p. Still waiting for the ps5 to be availeble again.
If i want GT7 now i would need to play on PS4. PS5 is out of reach, not available. But thankes for review, now i know PS4 version is decent enough to be played.
Loading times and the PS5 controller are the only major plus sides for me on PS5. Loading times are actually pretty long in my opinion, who has gotten accustomed to SSD speeds. Over all GT7 is definitely a great buy for PS4
Thanks for the comparison video, exactly what I was looking for :) Worth nothing that upgrading to an SSD in a PS4 is very simple to do and worth the effort.
I've been a bit spoiled when it comes to experiencing great graphics. I have a great gaming PC with Assetto Corsa, Forza Horizon 5, and other games on all maxed out settings on 1440p. Playing GT4 on the PS4, I definitely notice the downgrade. However, if you have a PS4 already, GT7 is worth the buy!
If you have some tech skills you can swap your PS4 HDD with a SSD and squeeze out some of that load time to improve it a bit. Did that to my PS4 pro and it did noticeably load games faster.
I agree 100% !!! If you have not yet got a PS5 like me....why deprive yourself now. Enjoy ....btw, I like this dude...little guy in a big chair talking technical with a strong accent. He reminds me of Chekov from Star Trek

My PS4 wants to set off while playing this , game looks phenomenal play great only thing stopping me calling this a 10/10 is loading times man alive it’s annoying
Thanks for the review. Being honest, I'm thinking about get a PS5, but I have to be honest, the graphics differences are not absurd considering that the PS4, it's over 9 years old now.
I agree, why buy a PS5 (*IF* you can find one), when you can play the same exact game on your 2013 PS4. The same EXACT experience. Microtransactions, 800% increase in car prices, reduced race pay-outs, no offline single player gaming... the list goes on!
#1 there is content missing. The proper campaign is missing replaced with those cafe menus. The campaign mode is better in GT Sport. I have both games on my PS 4 #3 I had GT7 on a PS4 slim but upgraded to a PS4 Pro. There was some stutter with the PS4 Slim and slightly less stutter with my PS4 Pro but PD has fixed the stutter in the last few patches. #5 I've used the same SSD in the PS4 slim as I have in my PS4 Pro. There's a big difference in loading times. The PS5 Pro loads much faster due to its SATA III connection. The PS4 Slim is still stuck with SATA II.
Have a standard 500gb PS4 & GT7 is awesome ❗ definitely my favorite racing game so far just wish that the campaign portion of the game was tied to my console instead of Polyphony's servers ( online only ) even if you purchase the two disc physical copy.... #PS4 #GT7 #logitechG29
What interests me the most is the reaction time. I mean, how fast the console detects that you moved the wheel to the left or pressed the breaks. That’s what’s gonna make my lap times. Will the ps5 with all the high graphics turned off detect my driver movements faster than the ps4 pro?
I’ve experienced some frame drops on the OG PS4 but other than that I am loving it. I got the 25th Anniversary so I will have it for PS5 when the time comes.
I have this on ps4 and been playing it for a little now I'm on like the menu book 33 now but I haven't played a ps5 yet and honestly I think this game looks insane for what it is on ps4 and a 55in normal TV. But yeah I've been thinking about buying a ps5 and gt7 with a little simulator setup. I really enjoy this game I think it's insanely realistic compared to the other racing games on ps4
Thanks for this, I've been enjoying the ps4 version. Kinda sucks that there's a group of ps5 owners who resent the cross gen aspect of gt7. Anyone who's played modern pc games know that you can play the same game at low settings or pay through the nose to at ultra.
My issue with the cross-gen support in this case is not graphics, but rather gameplay. Simulators use a lot of CPU power to, well, simulate stuff. This is also true for GT, and unfortunately PS4's weak CPU do hold back the game for having an even more advanced physics engine, since the game has crossplay and that means the physics have to be shared between 2 consoles.
From what I've seen, the PS4 looks good enough. Obviously not as good as PS5. Unlike Cyberpunk 2077 they don't recommend you get PS4. To wait until you get a PS5 console.
The main reason I wanted to try Gt7 is because of the adaptive triggers. I don't think there is any game beside Gt7 and Astro-bot that use so much of this new tech. Otherwise neither the ps4 version of Gt7 or Gt-sport in general are not THAT different from the final ps5 version in terms of gameplay and graphics . So please If you already bought a 500 bucks console to feel what's new at the table , just spend 10 more dollars and really enjoy . Even the 4k resolution that was the main goal in gameplay not to be sacrificed , even the loading times that are almost not existent do make the game better . Adaptive triggers in this game are so good that you won't even need a racing wheel if you don't wont to spend extra 200-300 bucks to take it to the next level.
I bought the PS4 version even though I'm playing it on a PS5. I "upgraded" to the PS5 digital version for $10, but I find myself playing the PS4 version more. The PS5 upgrades are minimal in my opinion. I also measured how many watts the PS5 is pulling while running each version and the PS5 version used double the electricity! The air coming exhausting from the back of the PS5 while playing the PS5 version was warm and barely room temperature running the PS4 version. Also, the PS4 version has much shorter loading times on PS5 relative to how long they are played on a PS4 (although the PS5 version has almost no load time at all).
How could ray tracing not be used besides replays, what a waste and it does make a big deal im not getting it for ps5 because that’s a feature I’m I’ll be missing
if you are playing on a decent 1080p TV and PS4, buy the game, if you are on a 4K TV and PS4, upgrade to the PS5. The game looks great on my PS4 if I'm playing on my bedroom 48 inch 1080P Sony TV. but it looks really bad on the 75 inch 4K in the livingroom. Upgraded to PS5 after 2 days of playing. Not regreting the upgrade at all!
I got the collectors edition for Ps5 and it came with the Ps4 digital download, so I can play it on my Ps4, and once I get a Ps5 I have the physical version.
I can’t get a PS5. Tried so many times. So I’ll just stay with the PS4. It’s fine. Destiny and Gran Turismo digital download. You will be able to a play the games on PS5 with your account whenever you are able to get one.
If your willing to pay 100$ish. I just bought a WD Black external ssd for my PS4. My load times are insanely faster. (Longest load time is 15-20 sec now) And my regular load times are typically 5-10sec Even though the ps4 bottle necks the original Performance of that ssd on my ps4 slim, there is a huge improvement.
Even still today i play it on ps4 pro and it looks and plays awesome, not worth the upgrade for me as GT is all I really play. The only reason to upgrade would be VR but I cant convince myself to spend a grand to play GT in VR. Otherwise when playing you really dont feel there is anything missing or that could be better, except loading times which at most only seem to be around 30 seconds from memory and is really not an issue
Ok I have a question, I bought this game when I have a ps4 but then I bought the ps5. On the cover it says it’s upgradable to ps5 at a discounted price. Now I am playing the ps4 version on my ps5. Should I upgrade to ps5? I’m asking this question because even with the discounted price, it is still expensive. Is it worth it? Or should I just stay with the ps4 version? Help me

Yeah I’m definitely happy with GT7 on PS4 Pro.
The Dualsense controller is the main reason I want a ps5.
@@pwcorgi2000 Good reason, its a game changer, as is the super fast NVMe drive. Load times are almost non-existent.
After using a wheel in all of my racing games, I wouldn't even consider controller
@@lawyer4ever GT7 is a simcade.
I bought the 25th anniversary edition, so i got the ps4 and ps5 version. I am playing it on the ps4 currently runs good. 1080p. Still waiting for the ps5 to be availeble again.

Love the video, all straight to the point no bullshit and answered all questions perfectly. Keep up the good work!
I bought it 30min ago, when i saw the video title i was like: i might have made a terrible decision 🤔
And what is your opinion after watching our video? 👀
@@OverTake_gg I started praying for faster internet 🙏
@2020 Toyota GR Supra 🙏🙏
Glad you liked it! Yeah, upgrading to a SSD is a huge step!
I upgraded my ps4 to a SSD as well about a year ago.
YO THAT’S THE VIDEO I WANTED TO WATCH, you guys are awesome
I've been a bit spoiled when it comes to experiencing great graphics. I have a great gaming PC with Assetto Corsa, Forza Horizon 5, and other games on all maxed out settings on 1440p.
Playing GT4 on the PS4, I definitely notice the downgrade. However, if you have a PS4 already, GT7 is worth the buy!
If you have some tech skills you can swap your PS4 HDD with a SSD and squeeze out some of that load time to improve it a bit. Did that to my PS4 pro and it did noticeably load games faster.
Base PS4 Slim paired with an M Classic HDMI Gaming Cable...Perfection!
polyphony have been known to do a decent job squeezing as much performance as possible from last gen consoles, defo picking this up
For real, GT4 on PS2 was mind blowing.
I agree 100% !!! If you have not yet got a PS5 like me....why deprive yourself now. Enjoy ....btw, I like this dude...little guy in a big chair talking technical with a strong accent. He reminds me of Chekov from Star Trek
I'm not sure if Joe likes the comparison, but this is very funny 😂😂
Great and very informative video! Big thanks for that! And hatts off for your superb and very talented way to explain things, amazing stuff and on the top of it you are even funny! 😉👍😃
Much appreciated! ❤️
thats great to hear since a ps5 here in brazil is abnormal expensive.
I've been hesitating to buy GT7 PS4 version due to concerns you've reviewed. And now, it is clear to be that PS4 version is still worth under the circumstance that I don't have plan to buy the PS5 in the near future.
Thank you a lot!!! 🎉😊
You get more game credits for the ps4 version
Experiencing the loading time without fast forwarding the video would be a more realistic feeling
Not bad, PS4 version is good enough for me tbh
I don't care about it I'm still enjoying GT7 In PS4 it's a fun game to play
A very important thing for PS4 Pro owners, don't forget to enable multi-sampling in the console's options , the results are stunning ! :V
Hey loved your vid, I, subbing you! Thanks for this review, it answered things better than other videos I saw. Thanks again
Thank you, glad to hear! 🙏
My PS4 wants to set off while playing this , game looks phenomenal play great only thing stopping me calling this a 10/10 is loading times man alive it’s annoying
Did I heard that right @2:57: 1080p, 60fps, buttery smooth on PS4? Considering the hardware from 2013, it's a job well done!
I have both games on my PS 4
#3 I had GT7 on a PS4 slim but upgraded to a PS4 Pro.
Hello my very english friend, thank you for se video :D
Have both (PS4 first). They’re essentially identical except if you get within 1m of a 55” TV. Beyond that, no one could begin to tell which is which.
It s a lot beter than gt sport. Ps4 runs very good.
Wow,
Ps4 version is looking good
It's working perfectly fine on my PS4, been a great experience so far.
I had it on the ps4 , then i upgraded it to the ps5 version. Honestly I cant notice any difference. Only on a side by side comparison
I got the 25th Anniversary so I will have it for PS5 when the time comes.
is the 25th anniversary compatible for both ps4/ps5 ?
@@KnowerofThings The 25th came with ps5 disc and ps4 digital download.
@@ceeece thanks good to know that
I have this on ps4 and been playing it for a little now I'm on like the menu book 33 now but I haven't played a ps5 yet and honestly I think this game looks insane for what it is on ps4 and a 55in normal TV.
This is also true for GT, and unfortunately PS4's weak CPU do hold back the game for having an even more advanced physics engine, since the game has crossplay and that means the physics have to be shared between 2 consoles.
have the old PS4 and the game is sweet on it.
Hell yeah it’s worthy. Gt7 on PS4 it’s the reason that I’m buying a wheel setup
Adaptive triggers in this game are so good that you won't even need a racing wheel if you don't wont to spend extra 200-300 bucks to take it to the next level.
i prefer the lighting on PS4
The loading times was the reason I stopped playing on my PS4. If and when I ever get a PS5 then I'll start playing it again.
This is first time if I see your videos and this video will make me to subscribe you 👊
Glad to hear! 🙏❤️
What about Fanatec DD pro on ps4 vs ps5 is there a major difference in term of force feedback quality?
I got the collectors edition for Ps5 and it came with the Ps4 digital download, so I can play it on my Ps4, and once I get a Ps5 I have the physical version.
I love how gr7 looks on my ps4pro but even still I get frame rate drop during races
Do they offer a PS5 upgrade once u get a PS5 if you already have the PS4 version?
Yes, for $10.
@@OverTake_gg yea I'm reading up on it and it's slightly confusing but I figure it out thanks!
I can’t get a PS5. Tried so many times. So I’ll just stay with the PS4. It’s fine. Destiny and Gran Turismo digital download. You will be able to a play the games on PS5 with your account whenever you are able to get one.
I wonder how well this aged after all the credits and MTX controversy that happened.
I have a PS5 but play the PS4 digital version thanks to Anniversary Edition. When I feel ready I’ll move up. Just wanna save my good SSD storage.
Hi, I have a ps5. Is it any difference buying the ps4 or ps5 version of gt7?
If your willing to pay 100$ish. I just bought a WD Black external ssd for my PS4.
My load times are insanely faster. (Longest load time is 15-20 sec now)
And my regular load times are typically 5-10sec
Even though the ps4 bottle necks the original Performance of that ssd on my ps4 slim, there is a huge improvement.
If everything would be on the same level as loading I would say take only Ps5 version. But aside of loading, it is awesome even on Ps4.
I am playing on PS4 with a Logitech g29, however no force feedback. The game is amazing though!
Thank you for the info....
Cheers pal 🖐
Nice review bro
Appreciate it! 🙏
even if i wanted a ps5, they are too expensive, and not available anywhere. i have ps4 pro, and i have very few issues.
Help me
If you come back from pc to ps4, the resulution is cancer for the eyes. But the game is still a masterpiece that pushes the limit of sonys toaster with plane engine cooling system
Just put an SSD in my PS4pro after getting fed up with the loading times and it's a noticeable Improvement. Well worth doing.
