Great song - originally written for his then new born son, Riley, who now plays rhythm guitar in the band. What must it be like for him, playing a song written for you, and to hear everyone singing along to the words?!
Loved the father and son nod at 00:19 must feel amazing!
El motivo mas importante para que the lightning seeds, continue.
i honestly didn’t know this until reading this comment a month or so back…his son must be buzzing!!!
Maybe his son should have a go at singing as Ian is wank
Nice story😮
We loved playing the lightning seeds on Live 105 in San Francisco!
MOTD Goal of the month
Indeed and a classic tune too to go with the riff at start goal F for me ring 0898 etc etc but I live in Rep of Ire so could not enter.
@@bedojamesha ha, me too.
Shearer........ 1 nil
😂😂😂
Thought that was James Dean Bradfield?
it’s everything to me this song!!! childhood GOTM tune, not a care in the world…class!
THIS its music like this that evokes happy times and great memories. LOVE THIS
In 1996 I went to Ibiza with a second hand discman and a scratched sleeveless cd of jolification that I played on loop for a week. Nearly 30 years on, I listen to jolification every holiday without fail. The warmth, memories and sanctuary that album gives me is like nothing else. Fantastic band
No offence buddy but nobody cares about what you did in 1996 haha 😆
@@NellyGandhellaclearly they do but not about your comment
As a Riley - I’m living this…❤
Forever cool how Riley is now there playing
Playing a song written about you on Glastonbury main stage..I would say very few of us will have the life of Riley!
So many great bands from the 90s at Glastonbury Festival this year
I certainly remember this song... It has been over 25yrs.. Very happy mood.. Fantastic.. Cheers!
Never knew he wrote this for his son❤
I did not know they were still going, Ian Broudie and co. Nice to hear they are still rocking.
Takes me back to my childhood. Brilliant song.
Love this. Takes me back to the 90s again.
One of my all time favourite tunes for street gigs. Thanx guys n gals..❤❤❤❤
Great music, amazing vocals and band !
Killer music, but I don't what's more out of tune, the harmonium or the singer's talk-singing.
@@vampiresforeslThere,s always one yes you.The crowd love it and that,s all that matters.
Proper tune.
Amazing band, amazing song and an amazing performance. What a happy happy audience.
This was a passionate performance by Broudie. Really loved the way he belted 'nothings certain' and the way he was driving the band and song on. A classic song being elevated.
This is brilliant!!❤❤
Great football music, it's match day in the boozer having a few beer's perfect coz it's pure and simple everytime👍👌
By the time this was released there were so many iconic tunes that became anthems in history so when I first heard this on the radio I knew that there was something about it that I thought that we would be hearing it for a long time to come and quite rightly so!!!!
I was pleased it was picked up by Football Focus and MOTD. Much better than the other football song they did, it's never coming home, get over it😂
Please go and tour Ireland
How great it must be to play guitar in fronted by your dad. Obviously the songs significance helps too.
Love the tone on Riley's guitar.
One of the most underrated bands of all time. Love ya😍
Anyone born after the year 2000.
Which is why they're playing at the Main Stage at Glasto
I seethis and it reminds me of the set with Terry Hall in London 2014, Sorrow, Sense etc. Awesome
UNDERRATED BAND
Hardly!
One of the, if not the, best singer/songwriters of their generation
The girl on synths has a great voice. Female vocals definitely add to the song.
nice to see him having such a good time, i remember him saying he used to feel uncomfortable on stage :')
Saw the Seeds when they were in their 20's at a music festival outside Philly. Incredible.
You'd have a job, Broudie didn't start touring with the lightning seeds until he was 36 😂
Amazing! Got shivers down my back!
Brilliant i loved the lightning seeds
Yeah' great and wondeful musiic this 🔉🔉🔉✋🤗💕💕💕💃💃💃🌅👍
GOAL F
Indeed and a classic tune too to go with the riff at start used for Goal of Month. Its goal C for me ring 0898 etc etc but I live in Rep of Ire so could not enter.
Fantastic, always find the time ...love the music.
I was at the front left of the stage and loved this set great way to kick Glasto off for me personally loved the Lightning Seeds in the 90s
I'm sooo jealous!!!! From brisbane....long way from Glastonbury!
@@traceyross8528 my aunt lives in brisbane. I'd trade glasto for that!
@@adamwilliams5372 the only good thing about brissy is the weather in my book....I'm an obsessed brit fan....never been cos can't afford! But hopefully one day!
@@traceyross8528 you can live more life because of the weather though. The winters here are long and miserable and by the end every man and his dog is depressed. But it's where I live and I still love it
@@adamwilliams5372 I'm a kiwi so I been through many long cold winters before, the cold doesn't bother me one bit.....it's the disgusting humidity we have in the summer that I hate! Lol
That'll do me! Love from the Gatta!
Thanks for still uploading Britpop gems, BBC!
they weren't really britpop. They were just indie. 2 of their biggest albums came out before britpop even became a thing
@@greatleapforwards Agree with you, but prolly I know it first time along with the "Britpop" era of 1994-1997 (Even tho Cloudcuckooland were already a hit from 1990)
LOVE IT! ❤❣💗
TERRIFIC! 👏👏👏
1:36 Bear puppet claps along.
lol I saw it too …I was thinking if anyone noticed it too 😂
I can still hear The Great Des Lynam saying pick them in the right order 1 2 and 3 ! This was immense for Match Of The Day in the 90's when football meant more 👌⚽️🎸🎙 Lightning Seeds.
It´s coming home
It’s just goal of the month on match of the day
One of the best acts there by far loved them! More please!
i remember the sad chinese song back in 96 ... "you showed me" how cute is his son ... he can manage the band for solo with the same name ... papa is too old 30 years later remember this band is from 1988 dang
Esta cancion sono mucho en la radios en Chile en los 90’
💝
Brilliant
Most underated band on the planet EVER!!
love it, so cool!
RECUERDO CUANDO LOS VI EN EL #CORONACAPITAL 2021 EN CDMX MÉXICO 🇲🇽❤
Ian Broudie is a musical genius.
Great !
Nice Performance.....Thank You...Bye JeanFrancois
You lucky English people... get to enjoy all this.... I'm jealous !
IB is one hell of a song writer
Top band
👍❤
One of the great underrated English songwriters
So grounded and loveable ... inspired me too to create "Space Buoy - Bowie's Love Child' on You Tube
This song is so pure. Wait. That's the other song.
Imagine your dad writing a song about you, only for all of Glastonbury to sing it back to you as you play it with him
Chicago's in the house!
Power Station in that band.
A rock gallop by that guitarist.
Ian Broudie on lead guitar
J'adhère ....musique 🎶🎵🎶🎵
Tune
Bless the 90s
💖💕💖💕💖💕
I loved💖 ♬♫♬♫👏👏👏🙏💖
It’s Shearerrrrrrrahhhhhh! Goal!
👍👍👍👍👍💥😊
They were without a doubt one of the best acts this year, bring them back next year!!!
❤❤❤ argentina
Riley on lead guitar
Rhythm. His dad plays lead
...Me recuerda mucho a la canción " Temptation" de New Order🥲
2:08 drummer able to drum and move hair out of eyes at the same time. Must have super powers.
You have heard off foot pedals I presume?
@@iankp5901 no because they don’t exist. Stop bullying me. Hate speech is not ok.
Hate speech for asking if you realised bass drums are played with the feet???
Award for best actor in a supporting role, the woman with the pink top on her bloke's shoulders. Pretty good all round. Got the tape in the shed.
Lightning Seeds have always been a sober, safer, Syd Barrett. Slightly less dazzling, more polished and thoughtful, still amazing. 9.9/10. Love this record so much.
i dont mind...i get the feeling...
Is Broudie trying to get a Bo Diddly rhythm going here? Shame no accordian, but never mind.
What would Glasto be without the 90s?
Tony Yeboah likes this one X 100
Anthem
Need to record new tunes
Great songs by this band. Singing Is well ropey tho, let’s be honest
Is that Psycho Paul off Ideal?
99.1 whfs - fountain of youth…
Saw the lightening seeds last night supporting the Who. Spoiler alert! They were better than the who
I vote for Jurgen Klinsmann
the jesus and mary chain called...
A Snookerium, yes.
OMG why they don´t the magical 90s synths from their songs anymore? This is not like the originals unfortunately...
Imbattibili
Dont the audience love themselves in the front row.
Should have been on main pyramid stage. They have some absolute shite on the pyramid and these legends didn't make it... absolute joke
Lush.
This is a 80s band, yet most of the band members were born after 1990.
Sad to see he still can't play guitar. Hearts will break. Mine did.
That was a terrible version of the song lol wth.
