The only thing you're missing is a ACES II fully functional Ejector Seat for the immersion
just wire it to a taser
The sad part is this has better graphics then the flightsim for our eurofighter pilots in our airforce lmao
Same for the EF-18 for the RAAF although the projector is the full bubble
It’s just DCS
You dont need good graphics for training. You need ultra realistic simulation of all systems.
@@okay1296 oh I know haha but it would be nice if the aircraft model was not as pixilated, kind of takes me out a little when you look back and see a blurry wing
8000$ is a steal for this amount of details and functionalities, great job !
Fr that GPU is 2-3k alone if you can even get a 3series…
@@datboii3738 luckily prices are slowly going back down
@@datboii3738 the GPU is 1200 USD all day everyday
@@behindthen0thing525 Yeah I was gonna say, I literally just bought this GPU for 1200 USD, shipped to my house for less than $1300
for real, I was expecting at least $20k USD
I was watching this in bed I said "Wow", turned to my wife and she said "NO!" LOL
Ah, women, the unfinished projects we all would have laying around without 'em ;)
@@steveman1982 Tell me about it lol.
The worst three words ever to come from a wife's mouth.....
"I've been thinking".
That never ends well.
Im about 15 grand into my dcs rig and race rig lol i told my woman ill never ride a motorcycle again if i can do whatever i want with my sim rigs and boom there i had it.
@@nick-dm3if That wouldn't work for me, she's the biker not me lol, she won't even upgrade her baby Fireblade!
@@GaryGraham66 tell her you wont leave her if you get to build what you want 🤣🤣🤣
Man, after 2 years of following, I still enjoy this set up immensely. Once AR is more common/affordable, this is going to be BY FAR the greatest thing ever.
I've watched several of your build videos and I'm still very impressed with your passion and dedication to this project. It's just so incredibly well done and you deserve huge props for sharing your files for others who would want to emulate what you've done.
This is truly beyond expressive! I don’t only love the final result, but the cleverness behind accomplishing it (like the TACAN X and Y brackets). Really an inspiration to anyone looking into the immersive experience. Thanks for sharing!
This is the coolest
VR just cant replicate the feels and ambient of an actual cockpit, i like this way more than vr.
MISSED YA!!!!!! Absolutely EPIC build. If I’m ever down-under, I owe you a good steak for all the delicious content and sharing over the years.
I'm having nightmares just thinking about mapping all those controls in DCS lol - What an amazing set-up! Very jealous!!
I was curious about what you'd do in the case of DCS updating the Radio panel stack for example and you were ahead of the game, ready for it. This is some serious passion - much respect.
This is so awesome. What an incredible amount of hard work this must have been. Really happy for you.
The door bell button lol. Is the guy holding a beer?? I can only imagine what that feature is for lol
I've watched every single one of your channel videos and I still watched this one. Amazing job.
Welcome back! Your amazing setup has been one of my inspirations for building my own (space focused) simpit and starting my own channel.
I’ve been a subscriber for a while. This is absolutely outstanding. G’day from a fellow Aussie in Washington DC, USA.
Just, wow! That is so awesome! I’d never want to leave that thing
Jeeez! This is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I’m drooling at how good this looks and the setup is ingenious.
Thanks for taking the time to go through this. I'm halfway through my first prototype for an F/A-18 cockpit for DCS and it's inspiring to see someone who's done such a bang up job. The details like the relays to cut out the cockpit lighting + the bypass for the emergency flood switch... just amazing thinking and design!
So cool and so much hard work, very impressive!
Damn!! That is super impressive mate. Also love that you're a fellow aussie BA seat rails was the first give away before I watched the vid.
I LOVE THE DEDICATION!! KEEP UP THE HARD WORK
Great video! Congrats on your cockpit.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The level of detail is INSANE mate! Must be awesome to fly in this
Great overview, brilliant 👍
Great setup!!!.. It looks like you worked very hard to make it as realistic as possible very professional looking!!!! FANTASTIC JOB!!!
crazy cool, fantastic job, thanks for the video
THAT is the coolest thing ever. Sorry wife, we don't need that extra bedroom.
i was expecting like 60000$, 8000$ is a steal
insane setup, like it. Well looking job👍
Very impressive. Thank you for sharing.
A great project! Good job!
Wow! This is incredible! You are a real craftsman!
This is amazingly clean
Absolutely gorgeous dude! Wow, I'm just getting into DCS. I have been sim racing for years, great work, nice rig!
Quite the accomplishment. Well done!
🤤 so cool!!
That’s an amazing cockpit looks wicked 👍👌
There's times you sound just like Mark Weber. Amazing setup you've created.
I would love to try that out. Looks like it would be a blast.
This is so cool!
Omg, you blew away my f18 build, lol.
it's amazing!
So freaken’ cool! 😀
Mind blowing!!! I'm curious to see what an actual A10 pilot says about this.
This is what I dreamed of building years ago but never had the skills, and never will. Incredibly impressive, bravo!
There is only one skill you need, really, dedication.
All the information is there in the www.
@@mcgeufer Dedication, and time. But alas there are many competing priorities. At least if I ever get the opportunity this channel is an amazing resource to building a sim cockpit.
@@B61Mod12 Well, we all got time. 24h per day. Sure, there will be one day that has likely fewer hours, and we don't know what day it will be. So, yes, priorities are important.
Sadly, most of as waste too much time watching random shit at the www.
I could have built several of those in my life so far, if I chose to do that instead of watching UA-cam videos or other useless stuff.
Amazing 👍🏽
I applaud your dedication sir, well one :)
How have only 75k people seen this, this is amazing
Holy shit, this is amazing.
Wow. Holy..... wow. I have no words... subbed.
Looks great
I spent 8 years building a 737 sim but vr is the way to go now
😊
Regards
Dave from Scotland
From a Navy Avionics Tech…. Well done sir.
This is the why I love vr it may be less immersive given the lack of tactility but to even mimic a fraction of this without putting another mortgage on the house
Amazing
I've watched since close to the beginning, and I still enjoyed this overview. I still can't believe the amount of work you put into this, but it definitely shows. I assume that you aren't married and have no kids either cuz you must spend hours upon hours on and in the sim! I know my wife would not allow that! Well done and cheers!
congratulations, my friend. I can't imagine the amount of hours that went into working on this.
오우! 너무 멋찐 시설 감탄을 .... 제작 에 많은 공을 들이 셨군요.
훌륭합니다. DCS KOREA.^,^
Two words - F'in Awesome!
Wow! Nicely done! I cannot imagine dedicating that much time, money and floor space to a computer game.
Oh but you can dedicate 15 years on yt ol
Hopefully with the meta cambria headset coming out later this year you can mix VR with the cockpit (colour passthru ar for the cockpit)
When playing the A10C in VR how good is the overlap of buttons? Do you hit them without problems or there is some misalignment real or just from perception? Thanks.
I would love to know that too
If he answers this question im interested to know how responsive the buttons are- if there was alot of trouble with delayed feedback given literally every function is interacted with via an ‘outside’ input. Particularly the inputs that ‘need’ to be pressed by an in-game cursor could have been a pain, or functions that give informational feedback in-game such as the fuel gauge (as he mentioned caused trouble) or laser guiding camera. Truly a feat of engineering.
My man this is one of the most impressive sims I've seen ! Your attention to detail and passion shows and wow what a set up ! Only critique with this set up is your Warthog Hotas. One would consider using a different throttle because that one is 8 years old, and there are much better options With WinWing, and Virpil both having better more modern options for similar or less money. Obviously spending 8k money isn't really an problem lol. I like thrustmaster, but $300 plus for the 8 year old Warthog throttle is highway robbery. Also the stick on the warthog doesn't have enough hats. Id check out the Constellation ALPHA-R for an all around better stick.
i want one
I bought a 3D printer about a month ago and started printing the Authentikit P-51 throttle and pedestal. Down the rabbit hole I go...
very very very very cool
Only just been linked this via a friend. How has this only got 463 likes? Have a like from me, this is some stellar work.
Because it was a new video?
@@leew8812 It was a rhetorical question. I was mostly suggesting more people should be subbed to this channel, and therefore should have already seen it at the time. Also the few thousand people who had see it before me could have liked it too. Its awesome and more people should see it.
God tier setup
21:54 if i where to ever install something like that, i can guarantee my girlfriend will walk up with a can and crack my skull by throwing it against my head 😂😂😂😂
Come an apocalypse, this guy is going to find an a-10 and be like, Mine!
This pit blows my mind, great workmanship. My question is - even with the large screen, do you still utilize a head tracker? I would think you would need to see above you in a fight.
What the heck is your day job to be able to a) afford all of this as just a hobby, and b) learn how to do all of this build? The entire build is amazing, but your ability to build it all yourself can’t be overstated. Bravo
Edit - when you say less than your phone bill, either you’re paying way too much on your phone (probably with Telstra) or that’s actually pretty good value
I wonder if he used to fly an A-10? And if I remember correctly, in order to become an airforce pilot, you need a college degree, like maybe a masters in engineering…..
The only thing you missed was when you pull the eject handle a spring launches you out of the cockpit onto a matress (for safety of course). That....would....rock....ROFL
I'm very interested in how you're going to be trying to simulate a JHMCS in this sim, especially since you don't really have any virtual head movement because your vision stays in the same position in the game.
TRACKIR is the solution
TREMENDOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!
Absolutely beautiful. The only thing I would add is a boarding ladder lol. That's one element that I want to incorporate into my F18 sim, but the ladder on the F18 drops out of the wing. I'll figure it out.
I think it is the best cockpit ever. As you put so many hours over 10 years into it, is there some sort of fire suppression system with CO2? Maybe an Oxygen mask, just in case? I thought of it when you pointed at the Engine/APU fire handles. There is a lot of electronics and acryl, you know.
Love your videos. A10 is a phantastic machine!
Lol no Halon supression system, but there is a fire extinguiser on the wall in the room. Its also only ever plugged in when im using it.
I forgot to point out that there is a emergency shut off switch near my right knee that kills all power.
I've had one close call when i wired a panel wrong and shorted it, as soon as i truned the switch I saw blue smoke, hit the shut off and all was well.
Mate I bloody love the flight stuff but I want to try some racing on your projectors! Was great having a short fly with you a few weeks ago we will have to tee another flight up again with robbo!
For sure mate. Its been out of action for about 6 weeks now, but it should be good to go online and start streaming again next week!
Wonder, Do you have dassault software format CAD pics from that rig itself? (that was shown here where you told there is no more that website..). Very nice finishing, and DETAILS in the whole simulator (i guess one can call this "simulator" as those "real" simulators.) Very nice indeed!
What would be cool is put a 6DoF under it for motion and if possible use instead of VR use AR mounted in a flight helmet. I wonder if it is possible to use AR in DCS
Honestly 8 grand really isn’t that bad. That’s pretty sick!
I wish u had done it from ground up would love to see it from the building the panels fair play to u lad
Impressive
"In Two Weeks™" So true!
I am watching this video roughly 1-year ir so after it was first released wondering if he put that cock pit assembly on some type of gymbo so the it all ritates in flight..lol..that is an amazing set up
Aaah! I've been wanting a video from you for like.. 2 weeks.. and you made one! 😂😃 Also, do you have any plans on upgrading your existing modules to newer "designs" or such, I mean on the electrical side? Cause I don't think you really can improve the outside as they are so beautiful. But as I rewatch some of your build videos from time to time, you've said in the videos that you want to upgrade some modules to different designs, for example the caution panel which is the last one I rewatched. Now on to watching this video 😂😃😃💓
Aw no! You have already upgraded the caution panel, but no video on it? I love your build videos and I'm so sad that you haven't made more 😢 hope you make more, even if you just redo the panels, I love your filming and setup for making those videos, so peaceful to watch 😃
Just watched it til the end, what a great video! Really what I needed to satisfy my "The Warthog Project" need for the moment 😂😃💓
How do you think that curved screen would handle having a 6DOF motion platform in the middle of? I have the 6DOF in a corner of my basement that could accommodate that projection setup. I've admired your progress throughout the years. You did a fantastic job on it!
Love the stubbie on the cockpit, but it does beg the question, do you have a designated stubbie holder?
Next level: put everything on a suspended floor powered by big servos that simulates yaw/pitch/roll to some extend. Like in these 5D simulator cabins one can see in theme parks or flight academies etc.
Crazy
That's why vr has so much potential
If someone makes a game where every detail is as realistic as possible and also it is interactable just like VTOL vr, it defeats this setup
Edit: you can't feel the buttons tho
I’ve watched most of these videos and impressive is not good enough to describe what he’s accomplished. But one question I haven’t gotten an answer for is, given that the display screen has a top that isn’t very high and the display on the monitor appears to be “static”, how does he see above or through the top of the canopy?
There cant possibly be a function to everyone of those switches!
Also I hope you have a flight suit you wear when you use it!
I remember seeing your old cold startup video and did you change rooms? Because this looks a bit different
Is it possible to get the files for the modification you made to the chassis? Do want to pay the original author for plans, but also wanna get a full set of plans or modifications that would generate something like this. This is impressive, great job
F35 build next? Haha I need someone to follow along and copy
15:56 If you wanted, you could probably get away with using another screen or something just below projecting the hud onto the glass to get the full hud effect
I enjoy Your A-10 sim pit series. Today My thought is to Ask: In normal use now up to this point how much if any trouble shooting do you have to do? My thought is none. Because it is so well thought out tested and made. As long as you don't make the decision to make a change on your own. understanding if a Lamp display bulb blows out that is normal maintenance stuff. Or if DCS adds new functions in updates. What is the Upkeep?
I want to build a left panel can u tell me the deimensions u used for the thorttle assembly of the warthog please and the left switches.
Any idea how many hours of labour have gone into it? Its surely in the thousands? Amazing work!
