I am just learning the F18, and have shot a few rounds from the cannon, but I am enjoying just flying around the different maps. I enjoy replays in VR, I can just sit back and enjoy a previous flight in VR, it's a really cool way to show friends and family the coolness of DCS without them haveing to control anything just enjoy the flight.

Wow . I had the pleasure of flying the Grace spitfire here in the UK last year. Your graphics are incredible. Very realistic. The engine sound was a little different but otherwise it's amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful. Pick a point on the horizon as you take off (or a cloud if they are not moving too fast) and during final approach to keep the plane aligned. As you get low, use peripheral vision to help with the glide slope. If you get to know the airport, you will have a feel for the layout of it, the fences, the hangars, etc, so you know how far you are from the ground and the threshold.
Awesome video! Really love the way you presented this piece. A tip for landing spitfire though, land nose down and let the aft end lower to the ground on its own, when slowing down after touch down. That way you have visual on landing safely. Basically, landing is similar to take off but in reverse.

Hi, never set the altimeter to 0 ft (sealevel)!!! The altimeter is set to the airfield altitude. This allows you to better estimate the altitude when landing at an airfield that is not the same as the one you took off from. Changes in the weather change the altitude display value, which results in a shift in the zero point. When landing at an unfamiliar airfield, the required air pressure is received by radio and is then set on the altimeter. The geographical altitude above sealevel should always be known. 😉
If I had to take a guess it's an external video capture device such as an ELGATO HD60x or something. It allows you to capture your screen without having to put any taxing processing on your PC by mirroring the display to the capture device. So FPS and everything will show.

I have a quest 3 which I am loving with DCS 2.9. I wonder if there any real major difference in getting the pimax crystal. Basically, is it worth the extra money? how much better is the image quality/experience?
if you're Ok with Quest then the price wont worth for the money, if you have a rtx4090 and you want the best visuals Vr can offer then yes go for Pimax, i have both Quest and Pimax, for me the difference is not much but when i use the quest i even regret of my pimax; but when i use pimax i understand why i have it :) , the colours, blacks, and resolution in pimax are superb, you can try the game optimizer and up the resolution of rendering in the quest 3 for even better visuals
What settings are you using in Pimax software/OpenXR/OpenXR Toolkit? because I have 3090 and I still cant hit max settings? Even on the medium stetting's I play on I still get really bad performance = stuttering/45fps or lower for example. It's so bad that I cant fly near city's because the game becomes unplayable. Please help, I'm desperate at this point XD
3:18 I’m the exact opposite. I hate all the switchology minutiae. I just want to fly and have everything on and and work so I can screw around, dog fight, cloud surf or fly obscenely low level over peoples homes and iconic places.
You really need to keep on top of the rudder a LOT more than you do. I would not let you go solo with those lazy feet!! And standard approach in Spitfire is curved to deal with the lack of vision over the cowl. Do NOT sideslip Spitfire or Hurricane with flaps down, the fuselage blanketing of airflow over the tailplane will cause the nose-down pitch of the flaps to exceed the nose-up pitch of the elevator and you will bunt the aeroplane nose-first into the ground!
Are there settings to make the game's head smooth(not shakey), like in the video. or does the MQ3 have that right out the box? If yes i'm buying it to finally have DCS head tracking with full emersion!
@@Rbn_e Hi strange! Awesome! What vr you going for? I try to keep my head steady for recording purposes. I basically act as a camera. No stabilization has been applied to this video.

which specs u got? i got my hp reverb and think about an upgrade
3090 is underpowered for high resolution VR in DCS
Really nice recording of VR! Usually it´s stuttering and is distorded... How did you manage do accompliched that
3:18 I’m the exact opposite. I hate all the switchology minutiae. I just want to fly and have everything on and and work so I can screw around, dog fight, cloud surf or fly obscenely low level over peoples homes and iconic places.
haha yeah! I have to say tho, i cheat with the auto start at times as i also just want to get up in the air and fight or enjoy just the flying!
I have 3090 as well - subscribed
How do you turn on arms?
How do you get the hands to show
You really need to keep on top of the rudder a LOT more than you do.
I can't even set my hotas to work properly 😂. I can't imagine adding VR in my setup 😢
What's with the red dot?
I spend too much time in commercial airliners. It's MPH instead of Knots ofcourse!
@@laubox I'm going for the Meta Quest 3, since i've been waiting for a later VR headset release with good FOV and resolution. I guess i can tweak the settings if the view get's shakey, but i probably don't have to worry about that. More videos with different aircraft (Like the f14, which i fly) Would be fun to see with the use of the Meta Quest 3. 👍
Looks great! I struggle to get good graphics in VR. Do you have a video with all your graphics settings?
What do you mean max settings? I have a pimax and a 64gb ram and a 4090, I can’t run it in a f18 at max settings. Should probably show settings at beginning of video and have fps counter on
What are the odds that ANYTHING won't work on any aircraft you are about to fly in DCS?
what controller do you use?
90fps with max. in VR? How many graphics cards you have?300?
did you have to connect your headset to a pc?
Yeah!
@@laubox hey mate...what variant of the spitfire is this?
Sound of the engine4s? All we can hear is you
Would be nice to see the landing from outside…
Is DCS multiplayer or single player?
Both!
Max FPS. With nothing pushing the gpu hard. Amazing. Try something that has some detail in it. My Atari could render your spitfire perfectly fine. Really, try something with detail. Like a jungle.
oh ja!
