I had a local computer shop that had a few high end cards for sale about 8 months ago. I had a choice between a Power Color Red Devil Ultimate and XFX Merc 319 Black Edition. The XFX was 100 dollars cheaper but it would not fit in my case and the Red Devil card is massive. He is not kidding about the size of these Merc Cards.

I was fortunate enough to get my own Midnight Edition 6800 XT directly from AMD for MSRP when I built my latest system last year. Brilliant card. The Merc 319 takes it to the next level. Great review.
I had this from launch and got it at around the msrp price. Fantastic card, although I had to get a anti sag arm to keep it up. Its a huge heavy beast. But beautiful
I bought the XFX merc 319 6900XT when it was the only card in stock in about August last year. I agree with your comments that it looks fantastic, the build quality is the best I've ever had, and the thermals are fabulous. I've never had an XFX before and I consider myself very lucky with this card. I note you said your card pulls 500w! I've never seen more than 350, and I undervolt mine to use 154w for 100fps Elden Ring at 3440x1440.
I bought a second-hand, known mined on, RX 6800 qick for $300. I have been running it for about a month and have had no problems...took a chance and couldn't be happier. Doubled my performance of the 5700.
I'm thinking of getting this one! It's around my price point so I'm so tempted. It'll be a big upgrade from my current 1060 :/ Will it comfortably play 1440p max settings? I'm new to all of this is all the info is so overwhelming lol
@@alistairt7544 yes it can play everything 1440p ultra at least 60 fps but usually quite a bit more. I've only had mine for a few days but honestly it's beating my expectations. The merc 319 6750 does better than what I've seen for the benchmark for the stock 6750s on UA-cam. I think you'd be very happy. It's a very capable card and the price is a steal!
There is the XFX Core Gaming version, which does have 3xDisplayPort + 1HDMI and the XFX Black Gaming, which is the one with the USB-C port, 2xDisplayPort and 1xHDMI.
I just bought this can't wait to build with it. This card is huge and this thing feels very well built and solid! One issue is that I am a bit nervous that it will fit in the case (fingers crossed). Definitely check the card size vs. case size.
@@intensenut9066 Hey sorry for the late reply on my side it did fit yeah with plenty of room. I had a 2nd hand corsair 4000D that I put it in. I think it would fit in *most* mid sized towers. I would definitely check the dimensions of both case and card. Don't forget that the PCIe slot on the motherboard is not directly at the very very back so you have to facotr in a little bit for that, plus any front panel fan depths.

I own the 319 SWFT 6900XT by XFX which I believe has not as many heatpipes but it's the same overall size and it does away with the LED's and logo's however It's still a similarly good build card. After tuning the fan profile and undervolting it's fantastic.

My 6800XT Merc I just bought has 3 Display ports and 1 HDMI. I have four 1080p 27" currently connected to the card and it was exactly the same as the 6600XT I removed from the build. Works great to run Eyefinity at 3x1 all at 240hz and the 4th monitor on the HDMI port running 1080p 144hz as the top stats screen.
I just bought two used 6800XT for $300 each in Aug 2024. Both were used for only gaming and include the retail box. Asrock Phantom Gaming and XFX Merc. I am now considering replacing my Silverstone GD09 HTPC case for the GD11 HTPC case so I can swap out my 6700XT for this 6800XT to be used on my 4k 144hz 65" screen w/ 7800X3D&X670 setup.
The 6900 XT Merc 319 is below founders MSRP on sale $899.99. Though, not that much real world difference between that and the 6800 XT @$799.99. Still interesting that we are finally below VERY high MSRP. Almost seems reasonable. Surprising, the $899.99 6900 XT at NewEgg is still available. Been there for almost a week. So, either no one wants AMD high end or people are waiting for 4xxx and 7xxxx cards to debut.

I got one of these to replace a 5500xt…..I then had to get a new case to fit it into! Its a big boy for sure. But that size means great thermals, and other than the disappointment of native RT performance on cyberpunk, it’s been solid otherwise.
I got a red devil 6800 xt a few weeks ago for just under $600. It's 12.5" and to fit in my meshify c i had to swap the middle front 120mm intake to a slim noctua. Card is a beast. First amd card since ATI was bought by amd. I only miss rtx voice from my 2070s. Way better at noise elimination than amd noise suppression
I thought Nvidia cut off XFX because XFX started also making AMD or ATI cards, but if it was just because then that's fucked up, even if they were cut off because they started manufacturing cards for the competitors seems petty to me, but then again, Nvidia has shown it's pettiness time and time again over the years. A comment on the IO ports. The SWFT CORE model has 3 DP, 1 HDMI , no USB C. It's cheaper but comparable in performance. Definitely NOT comparable in looks.

What I've learned is that one should not buy anything in a hurry. Too bad most consumers are so hasty because that then creates shortages even when products are lackluster.
I've run one of these since Feb 2021 with Strix X570, 5800x and 32 GB Samsung bdie at 3600 MHz. Smooth, trouble free, feels like it is over engineered. I bought it as xfx have a rep for doing things right. I had an xfx 7700 1gb for years and it never missed a beat, next a gigabyte rx590 as it was a great deal, but after the 6800xt experience, I'll stick with xfx unless I am forced to Nvidia. I'm a keen mature gamer
@@jeremyp.1803 I don't know which version but it was early release, but I've never had an issue with coil whine. Got an 850w PSU. I've never had an issue with the 6800xt, been buttery smooth. I think the GPUs bed themselves in so noise abates over time unless it's a 3090!

@@jeremyp.1803 Corsair rm850x. PSU is worth spending money on as they will last ten year plus years. I'd got Corsair or seasonic. I just got the best deal I could on a gold rated PSU. You can use a PSU calculator online if you want to check capacity, best to have headroom

The "Black" version has higher clock speeds than the "Core" version. You screwed this up too :P
I have decided to get the XFX 6800XT Merc (now at MSRP) to replace my 5700XT, I originally bought due to supply issues early last year. It will mean I will finally have what I wanted my PC to be when I got it. I will probably find a buyer for my old 5700XT. While I only play FH5 for the forseeable future, having all the eye-candy @ 1440p gaming on my 5800X, will be awesome. I have nigglying concerns that the new 7000 cards maybe buggy initially, the 6800 XT will have most driver bugs already well sorted. I also think, the 7000s may have better RT performance, it is not something I am overly interested it.
I was going to buy this card, but the huge white "MERC" graphic on the back plate turned me away. Makes the card look tacky and not very clean looking in my opinion. I believe there are other versions of the MERC cards where the graphic is black instead of white. Still an awesome card nonetheless, great video.
I made jokes and called AMD trash for years. I made jokes about how fanboys said "in 2 years AMD will make drivers and will equal Nvidia!" (and they weren't ironic) and I said I will buy it then in 2 years, or buy the new Nvidia instead lol ... now cause of the market and the fact that with the release of 4090 prices have gone up instead of down, I actually ordered this online for the decent price of 700 euro. Prices are insane in Europe and considering the price and it's like half the fps of 4090 I'd say it's a much better deal. Also fuck ray tracing, I play old to day 1 release games, most of them don't even have a good implementation. I guess in 3 years when prices go down or Nvidia calms down, I will get a ray tracing Nvidia card. Until then, I hope this one will work amazing. Thanks for the review, I've watched about 10 different reviews.

I think they meant the system pulled 500+W, not the card itself.

BFG wasn't thrown to the side per se. Their build quality and RMA process was completely broken. They didn't last long due to those reasons alone.

Btw I squeezed it in Meshify 2 Compact with 5 noctua fans. It doesn't sag as the 1mm on the 341 length is being absorbed by the fan!

Just a small bug, with this card. SAM is not active, despite my MB BIOS setup for it correctly as SAM was enabled and worked with my previous 5700XT
Odd. It showed as enabled on this board.
