Tbh these cards are all pointless when games can't even keep up with the technology. I built my pc in 2016 for like 1k and it still runs all the games well 5 years later. With all the scalping going on, I'll just wait for the next upgrade.

AMD send 25 GPUs to Proshop one of the Europe's largest retailers. A 25 6800xt:s to about 20 million people that live in north Europe alone.

I managed to get this card and what Jay at 4:00 is so satisfying to me. My previous build had an ASUS Strix 970 ,which was considerably smaller than the XFX Merc 319 6800xt, and it had some noticeable GPU sag. Its really mindblowing seeing such a huge card in a case without a support bracket sit straight in a chassis.
Okay... can we just talk about how the Palpatine “no... nooo.. NOO!” voice at 10:55 was damn near indistinguishable from the original

I've had mine now for a month. When you pick up the box, it feels light, you almost think there's not much in there, and there isn't, a manual, some other piece of paper, and the card, but the card it self is real heavy. Stock fan curve is great for regular gaming, runs nice and cool on its own, and even cooler if you tweak the fan curve to suit your set up.

A follow-up on AMD vs Nvidia frametimes would be interesting. Steve said the same thing about AMD being smoother.
I upgraded from 2080ti water cooled to 6800xt reference and the smoothness difference is insane. For gaming amd all the way. For content creation on a single pc go team green for the cuda support and nvenc endcoder.

20+ years ago, I went with team Green - they had the best at the time. 10 yrs later - A new - forced build [lightening fried it] and the $ was considered. I went with team Red - on cpu and gpu. Easy to setup and was consistent when OC'd. I have not had to rebuild any in the last few years, but when I do - that looks like a winner.

LTT talked about the issue showing that it doesn't seem to be a manf issue exactly, it turns out that they (at least Nvidia) sold significant amounts (if not the majority) of their inventory to crypto mining organizations. So they just gave consumers and their board parts the finger.

7:41 That is symmetrical. It's symmetrical going left to right from the center. Asymmetrical would be offseting the small fan on one side. It is not, however, symmetrical top to bottom.
Also when using manual fan speed the zero rpm mode turns entirely off keeping the fans on entire time.
im so glad that i upgraded when i did as i only got the 5700xt but i can fully relate to jay on the length of some xfx cards, :O my 5700xt triple dissipation gpu was long enough to warrant "modification" of my case to be able to fit it

Have AMD solved their video driver issues for the newer cards? I'm using a rx-5700xt with a r7-3700x and still get 30% frames drop on trivial things like youtube@4k on chrome (an issue that does not presents with edge or with my older gtx 970).

Once again, a smaller fan IN THE MIDDLE doesn't make it asymmetrical. It is still symmetrical. What it isn't is consistent.
I hope you guys have a low oxygen sensor in there, I worked with LN2 for a while and we had to have low o2 sensors in all the rooms we used it, because when the tanks off gas it can displace enough oxygen to knock you out. If something goes wrong, it can kill you too!

XFX has had hard time from the beginning. XFX was actually Nvidia's AIB-partner untill 2008. When XFX started make AMD-cards too, Nvidia banned XFX and stopped the partnership. That was another pathethic move from Nvidia, ''play with us not AMD or you are done with us''. Nvidia is one of the most harsh capitalist companies there is.
Looks like the only AMD AIB who learned from his past mistakes. (Yes I'm looking at you Asus)
@@ploed True. XFX has improved a lot. Asus is a joke with AMD. when was a last series of AMD-cards, where Asus nailed all the models? Sapphire is best AMD-AIB btw. Don't remember any fuck ups, and they usually have 5/5 coolers, and still decent prices. Asus Strix has usually great coolers, but prices are way too much.

Jay, i have sag(flex) on my 1070 strix all along its length. I can take straight metal ruler, place its edge on backplate and see how it curves. Its not just an io plate what sags.
