    When SC actually implements a tutorial on how to play the game... the first chapter will be "How to become a tech guru so you can play the game" X)
    On a serious note, I already have 32gb of ram, and a 3080ti. I adjusted the NVIDIA settings when I saw that spectrum post, and I'm not going to say that I got a FPS increase... well, maybe a little, around 2 to 7 I'd say from the little that I tested... BUT, it did seem the game ran smoother... less "breaks" between FPS transition, even at lower ones. Again, did little testing on this, and haven't played much since IAE ended.

      32gb of ram and a 3070 both overclocked and i was able to get around a 5 to 15 fps increase especially at new babbage. Its been an interesting bag of mixed suprises cus its different for everyone. Atleast your stability on frame delivery feels better :)

      There's literally tool tips on the screen that tell players all the information you need to know when you do things, people often just don't read it I've noticed and rely on someone else to learn or just hope for the best and then wonder why they get frustrated doing things. Also, Arena Commander should be used to learn how to fly and do space combat

    Alot of this is just generic hit and miss and some wrong information, Gsync/Freesync monitor users don't have to change some of this stuff, also the shader cache, VM take up alot of storage space, nvidia triple buffer option doesn't apply to D3d games and only helps out if you're using v-sync as it adds another buffer to not half your refresh. Alot of game now have it built in anyway. Ultra latency mode can reduce performance in favour of latency, in other words if you want less mouse lag or interacting with things but again that's really if you have V-Sync on, G-Sync/Freesync already has low latency, v-sync adds alot of latency. Because the information is so generic it doesn't take into consideration of monitor refresh rates and variable refresh rate tech.

    • @cephalonarn8064
      @cephalonarn8064  2 роки тому

      Fair point. The purpose of setting the values related to Vsync without mentioning of monitor refresh rate is due to the games tendency on destabilizing when there is no set fps cap for the game. Other than my personal PC ive had the opportunity to test with multiple players and when setting the vsync in the in game menu it would cause crashes with errors popping in the console. When being set externally through the control panel however the game would lock at the capped refresh rate regardless of what the monitors setting would be which not only prevented crashes but also aided in avoiding fps dips when reaching random areas like forests, frozen lakes, grassy planes and structures like bunkers and space stations. Im curious to know what you mean by "wrong information" anything you can share would be appreciated as it would help out anyone that comes up to this video and id be sure to take it into account for research as well as testing with the other players I spend time with.

    • @retrowrath9374
      @retrowrath9374 2 роки тому

      @@cephalonarn8064 When you have a variable refresh monitor you don't feel these things like the frame drops because the refresh syncs with the fps and low frame rates are smooth and latency is very good, triple buffer and v-sync make no difference, as said nvidia triple buffer don't work with D3d that is the wrong information and again the ulra option is wrong information, the rest is generic that applies to every game to get a bit of performance but it might get wiped away on the network conditions of the game, like IAE or server health at the time. You'll also get intial lag because the game is still streaming in assets for upto a minute or more and loading into memory, it already caches shaders anyway

    • @cephalonarn8064
      @cephalonarn8064  2 роки тому

      @@retrowrath9374 I agree, when a game properly works you dont feel those things because as you said the frames perfectly align with the pacing of the monitors refresh rate. But thats not the point here. The game in itself is unstable and these settings are shown not only by me but many others in the community with spectrum posts to aid regardless. This isnt about your monitor or frames syncing. This is about the game crashing to desktop or freezing at random times for no obvious reason that are simply affected by these settings. Its why people always suggest to turn off vsync ingame along with chromatic aberation, film grain and sharpness. This isnt pointing to the fact of things working differently. Its simply addressing the fact that as amazing as the game is, the state its currently in has too many things that can cause it to just die at any random moment and these arrangements dont only provide stability but for some increase its performance, and responsiveness regardless of how their monitors sync up along with the fact that it doesnt matter if D3d games are affected by tripple buffer or not. This is why CIG is constantly looking at the things we post in spectrum whenever the PTU reaches the waves it needs to go through. Regarding the caching of its shaders this ofcourse can reset from time to time. It still has presented itself as a mixed bag of results because many have documented increase in performance (for me this meant a significant fps boost) and other saw no difference. Ofcourse neither of us are CIG devs (I assume) and we simply dont know what inner workings of the game so far take the cake when it comes to this providing a solutions. But i consider it worth mentioning and bringing to people attentions because of the results I have had as well as the results of those whom I play with. But hey who knows? maybe you and I end up working on PTU bugs at some point and our different systems lead to a breakthrough that fixes everything! (lol one can dream)

    • @retrowrath9374
      @retrowrath9374 2 роки тому

      @@cephalonarn8064 Well, it is the point because you're changing things that relate to that in a generic way, that's why it's wrong information, also some of things you pointed out are default anyway in the NVIDIA settings, the original spectrum threat about is wrong so you will repeat that wrong information, good information takes into considering other PC setups and tech no one that think it applies to everything and just happens to give a few FPS more or magically not crash because you did something random that stopped it

      Your opinion is extremely subjective. If you bought a pre-build, then you'll most likely experience shitty performance due to the way pre-built PCs come setup out of the box. Use Ccleaner to clear out bloatware. Disable any unnecessary programs. Also take into account what model CPU/GPU you have. Lower end hardware will obviously have worse performance. Additionally, please consider the cooling solutions that your PC came with. If your cooler on the CPU sucks, then you could experience thermal throttling.
      I build PCs for a living and work for Intel. I have always suggested building your own PC. If you don't know how, get a friend to help or hire someone to build it for you. 90% of the time I hear someone say they are having a shit ton of issues with their PC, it's a pre-built PC. And pre-builts come with heaps of bloatware, tons of additional tracking software, and proprietary software that does nothing for your PC except slow it down. They also cut corners and have crappy cooling solutions (heatsinks, VRMs, MOBOs, and especially power supplies).
      AMD's Ryzen series is quite phenomenal, especially with proper cooling. Their GPUs have come a long way, you just have to occasionally be picky with drivers. A little research goes a long way.
      I hope this helps. Good luck my friend. o7
