    Fantastic tutorial that greatly helped my FPS. Prior to this, in Area 18, I was getting at most 12 FPS, now I was sitting comfortably at 30 FPS, even the volumetric clouds no longer killed my FPS as I was flying out, and I got to 60 FPS in space (previously I was only getting 30 FPS)
    I look forward to visiting Lorville again with these new settings, since I haven't been able to properly enjoy it with the crappy FPS I was getting before

    In the first section - I am not finding any of those settings in Windows 11? Considering Star Citizen is CPU bottlenecked today, I'd imagine the most effective settings should be CPU focussed?

    Hey solid video! I have a 4090 Gaming OC, i9-13900K and 32G of DDR5 G-skills RAM but I rarely see my FPS above 60 at 4k resolution during the tutorial. At times, my FPS dips into the mid 10s. For the most part, my settings are the same as yours. Is this expected since there's no DLSS option or is there something I'm missing? Thanks.

    Great video dude it helped me a bit I'd appreciate if you could guide me a bit further, I'm running Ryzen 7 7700X, 32 Gb ram, Nvidia 3060, Star Citizen is installed on a SSD with 50 Gb of free space, in the Nvidia control panel I turned the shader cache from 5 GB to 10 but I'm still getting 40 to 55 frames inside stations and 30 in space, I'm running High on 1680 X 1050 odd monitor specs I know but that's all I got till my main monitor gets fixed

    • @Ababb21
      @Ababb21 8 місяців тому +1

      This is a relatively new issue in 3.19 and now worse in 3.20, basically CIG did something and broke the MFDs in the cockpits of some ships and so sitting in the pilot seat can completely tank performance. I have an absolute monster PC and performance completely shits itself depending on the ship I'm flying. As far as I can tell there is no fix or work around for it, you just gotta deal with it or fly something else.
      It's probably the most frustrating thing in the game right now. Fwiw in my experience it's not as bad in single seat fighters, but absolute worst in drake ships

    3060ti
    i7-11700KF
    64g ram
    Yet i can barely get anything above 30-35 frames 90% of the time playing this game on any planet. Even planets where its just missions or small stations. I bought this game back in 2016. When all i had at the time was a 1050 and an i5. 16 gig of ram. I upgraded my computer 5 times since then and can still barely play the game. I followed these steps and settings and got no boost in frames. My buddy who has a 3050 with an i7-10700K and 32g of ram runs the game better getting an avergae of 40-45 in city and 80 in space where i only get 30-35 in city and 45-50 in space.. I dont get it. All of my drivers are updated, the game is loaded on a Samsung 990Pro with over 1.5tb left of space. I have the game set to medium, his is set to medium and his is some how running the game better despite me having the better rig. I ran benchmarks from 3 different benchmark software. 1 Said my cpu was running less than 98% of others with the same cpu. While the other 2 said the cpu is running at the average with everyone else. I even ran the benchmark for the game itself. and it says i have well over the recommended specs to play the game. yet like i said. the game pretty much runs like dog shit. compared to my buddies rig with slightly less performance. Im already looking into getting a 4070ti, with a new 13600k but im afraid if i dish out this money i wont be able to play a game that ive tried playing for nearly a decade now.

    This is a game that has me completely baffled on all levels. Firstly, I bought it back in 2016 and was attempting to run it on a GTX 970, it ran at about 30fps, terrible, I uninstalled after briefly trying to fly (what a damned nightmare that was). Ok, a few years later (I think) I tried to play it again on a 1070, same performance, same janky movement and awful 30fps unplayability. I Tried to AGAIN install and play it now, on my RTX 2080, which is years beyond that 1070, and yet.....again.... I am at 30 fps, janky performance and awful playability. SOMEONE tell me the secret to this game and how to have a playable experience, lmao.....
    EDIT: Worth noting that these are completely new systems with processors to match, I forgot to mention that. My current is an i9 9900k.

    • @Vinwelder
      @Vinwelder 8 місяців тому

      @@Laerunyeah it's critical to do this stuff. Be sure to do everything spoken about in this video. It may be worth looking up one more modern video with searching "how to increase fps in Star Citizen" as I remember a few other important settings in some pf the other videos. If you haven't already done so you'll notice in some of the other vids they speak about denying startup permissions for apps that have no buisness running in the background. That stuff is pretty important as they're an enormous waste of resources & you do all that through task manager. As I said be sure to search that as there's a good handful of other important settings. They're still working out some kinks with this update so on some cities you'll definitely get worse fps atm. 30 in a city is fine till theu do another update, but u should obviously be getting way above that for anywhere else. That page file part is pretty critical though.

      The game is CPU heavy, not GPU. So the faster 4-8 cored CPU you have, the better performance you will get. GPU bound things right now are literally just quantum travel. HOWEVER, this will change, and as the Vulkan API comes online, more and more things will be switched to the GPU.

    • @mbraden66
      @mbraden66 Рік тому

      It's best to have your page file on a separate drive than Star Citizen. Both should be SSDs. It is better if you set it to a static amount, rather than let Windows manage it as Windows will grow and shrink it as needed but that can add delay on older PCs. It is also best to have a page file equal to or bigger than the amount of ram you have. If you have 32gb of ram already, you don't have to make it 32gb or higher, you could have it at 16gbs in that case. If you have 8gb or 16gb, you probably want to set it higher.

There's a bunch more settings that help so be sure to look em up. Shutting off apps and useless resources on your pc will help a ton too. But you'll find all that out when u watch 1 of those vids.
