Hey guys! So sorry I haven’t uploaded any new videos. For the ones that sent me messages on IG asking for more videos, I thank you! Hope you enjoy this one and let me know what you would like to see next! 😁
Hi! Did you like the height of the moss pole or wish it was taller? I’m trying to decide if I like when it’s the same size as the height of my plants or should stick out a lot taller. Loved your video!
I love your content! I am currently re-repotting my Monstera from a pot that was way to big and of course overwatering it was just killing My beautiful big luscious plant! And I also messed up but not staking it in the beginning too. 😩 I was able to get 6 pots (more if I had more pots) all thanks to your video. I will be giving some away to family and friends. 💕 And thank you for speaking on those events. I wish we all could just love each other more and keep the love and positivity rolling around. But I can say that I do feel like we are making progress, most importantly our younger generation are doing well which is sweet because once we are gone, they will have to fix whatever we couldn’t on their own.🙏🏽
My Monstera is approx 40 years old I keep it under my south facing patio. Huge, beautiful plant. I’m thinking about repotting and separating it. You give great directions, makes sense. Thank you.
Monsteras are one of my favorites as well. I have 3 and they are growing beautifully. I have one in east facing window and there are 7 leaves unfurling. I am in love!😍
My monstera haven’t grown a new leaf for the last 6 months, do u think it needs a larger pot? Would be nice to include the pot you used before with the new one so we know the new pot size 👍🏻
Hi! Sorry so late on this. Try fertilizing it first and see if it responds to it. If not, then yeah try repotting it and give it fresh soil. You can go up 1 to 2 pot sizes! Mine are in huge containers, I don’t remember the size now but I started off with a 6 in pot. Hope that helps!
Hi! Sorry so late on this! I use to be so scared repotting my plants because I thought I would kill it 🙈🤣 It’s actually really easy. Good luck with yours! You got this!
Wow!! I'm always shocked to hear when I find out my viewers are from all over the world! Thank you so much for watching my video! Hope you are staying safe and healthy!
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Trust me I’m still scared every time I have to repot my plants 😂🤦🏻♀️ It does get easier though. Good luck with yours and happy planting! 🌱
I'm a new plant mom, so sorry if these are stupid questions :) but I noticed that you placed your monstera in a second pot. Does the second pot act as a humidifier for it? Are there rocks at the bottom to help with drainage? If not, what do you use to prevent root rot? Thank you & your video is helped me decide that I am going to finally buy a monstera!
If you are referring to the white rectangle box, that was just the box she used as a base so she can keep the soil mess inside of it and not in her working space.
And if you are referring to the white round pot at the end that she finally used, that was just a way to hide the plastic nursery pot (grower pot) and make visible a more beautiful pot for aesthetics
I have an nursery insert (the black pot she has within the decorative white pot). I a new too, but I got mine doing some research saying that the plant love to breathe. I found some nursery pot with holes all over. For the first mixture I used miracle fro potting mix/orchid course blend mix/perlite. Those three are great for tropical plants.
While it looks great that way, I would hate having to remove the growing/nursery pot out each time for watering, waiting for it to drain, then placing back into the decorative pot. Guess I'm more of an easy & simple kind of plant mom. LOL
I just bought a monstera and am replanting it! what is the best soil to use? I'm looking for a premade, bag one. just something basic that o can add to as needed over the next 12 months
Monsteras are fast growers so you don’t have to wait until they’re pot bound to repot them. I repotted mine because It wasn’t growing as quickly as it use to and I wanted to give it some fresh soil. Hope that helps! 😄
Hi! I went from a 3 Gal nursery pot to a 5 Gal. You can go up to 2 sizes larger than the current pot your plant is in. Hope this helps! Thanks so much for watching!
Soo I was trying to insert my first moss pole in my new monstera since she is 2 ft tall already BUT I realized mid way that the moss pole was not gonna fit in her original pot which I wanted to keep her in. So I ended up having to repot her into the pretty pot that her plastic pot was sitting in. The pretty one has one decent size drainage hole but my question is do you think it’ll be enough to dry out? 😭😭 I’m terrified to cause it root rot.
Hi, Thank you for sharing how to repot a monstera. I am new at gardening and your vídeo has helped me a lot. I looked in amazon, Walmart, target etc for the potting mix you recommend, but I can’t seem to find it. If you don’t mind me asking, where did you buy yours ? Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching! So I went to a local nursery here in Las Vegas. It’s called Star Nursery. You can use any standard household potting mix. Just make sure you add perlite! Any brand will work just fine!
Wow so big and so so beautiful I’m new subscribers watching from California thanks for sharing love it your vedio inspired me thank you god bless and stay safe
Hi thanks for your tips. I'm just wondering, my monstera produces many shoots but these shoots they just dry up and die before the leaves open. What is happening?
Hi! I haven’t had that personally happen to my plant but it could be that the soil was too dry or over watered while the plant was pushing out new growth. Focus on checking the soil first before you water it and being consistent with watering! Hope that helps! Happy planting 🌱
@@LifeStyleataGlance hi thanks again for the tip. Could be over-watering 😩. It started to produce many shoots when I trimmed the brown-edged leaves. Shall hold on watering too often (once a week) moving forward.
Hi friend!!! I repotted my Monstera while a leaf was about to unfurl and it did fine! That’s just my experience! Hope it helps! Good luck!! Happy planting 🌱
Hello and thank you for the video. My Monstera plant has grown leaves towards the floor as I didn’t have a moss pole and the branches are too stiff to bring up towards a pile now. Is there anyway to fix it?
Hi! Thanks so much for watching! You can try to train it by using twine to tie it gently. Every couple of days try and move it closer to the moss pole and keep repeating. It may take several months unfortunately. If that doesn’t work, you may have to just trim out the pieces that are too stiff and propagate them. Hope that helps!
Hi, sorry so late on this. It depends on the size of the pot. I usually will stick mine all the way down since the pot is rather large and the top of the soil can be dry but the other half is still wet.
Hi! I’m no expert either 😂 I potted it up to a pot that’s 2 in larger. Honestly it wasn’t really pot bound and it didn’t need to go up another pot size but what I really wanted to do was give fresh soil. Hope that helps!! Thanks for watching! 😁

Hi there! I just recently got a monstera, and I’m reading everywhere that monstera soil needs to be slightly acidic at about a ph of 5.5, so a lot of “soil recipes” say to add peat moss or a special type of bark or orchid mix. What is your take on this? What do you recommend. The plant I received came in a nursery pot which is what she is still in, and she has a mix of potting soil, peat moss, sphagnum moss, and perlite. I want to take her out of her nursery pot and plant her with a moss pole but I don’t know if I should keep the soil or change it. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!
@@amarylis8128 hey there, I found a few recipes that are fairly similar and they seem to work fairly well for these other people on UA-cam. Kaylee Ellen has a really good Aroid Mix, as does Planterina, but I like the chunkier mix better and from what Kaylee Ellen says in her video, it just seems like the better mix for me. I’ve done some research and have read that the items included in the mix to adjust the pH so that could be why it works so well. I just made the Kaylee Ellen aroid mix from her video this weekend and planted my Monstera in it. Hopefully it does well! If you’d like I can give you an update in a couple of weeks? Here is the link! ua-cam.com/video/B9CGl_JiZB4/v-deo.html Good luck!
I personally buy a potting mix that already has peat moss in it then add perlite to make sure it’s well draining. I don’t personally like to complicate my soil mixture and try to make it super easy. Let us know how it works out! Happy planting guys! 🌱
Honestly there wasn’t anything special I did. They naturally grow long when they don’t have anything to climb and as the plant matures! I do spray them with water to keep them from getting dry, when I remember to do it 😂 Hope that helps!
Hi! So I go on long trips for 2 weeks or more and haven’t had any issues leaving them. What I do is move the plants farther away from the window so they don’t need as much water and then use water spikes to water them slowly while I’m gone. You can search water spikes for indoor plants on Amazon. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! Good luck 🌱🪴
So I put mine in miracle grow normal soil, I'm scared of over watering it i got it a day ago, but I've never had one.. do you think it needs a different soil?
Hi! That soil on its own tends to retain moisture so just be sure to always check the soil before you give it water. If you don’t like sticking your finger in the soil then use a moisture meter! I wait until mine is completely dry or reads 3 on the meter! Hope that helps!
How is that moss pole working out? I read some reviews on Amazon that said the metal stakes rust and poison the plant and some others mentioned there were spider mites in the moss.
So far I’ve had it for about 2 or 3 years now and haven’t found any issues or rusting. I wait until mine is completely dry before I water so it doesn’t sit in wet soil. Also, I don’t spray the moss pole as I mainly use it to keep the plant compact. Hope that helps’
Agree they tend to grow more complex patterns with proper light! Although, it maybe a fairly new cutting or it’s still a baby! Try giving it more light and see how it does. Be careful not to give it too much direct light!
my monstera is so leggy and small zero fenestrations and skinny stalks i’m going to get a moss pole and fresh dirt and pray but idk what i’m doing wrong
Hi! You want to be really gentle and try not to force the vine but the crackling does happen sometimes and monsteras are so resilient, it will bounce right back no problem!
Hi! In depends on the size of the pot. For larger pots I put the moisture meter all the way down. I wait until it reads dry before I water mine. Hope that helps! 🌱
Hello new subscriber here most definitely!!!! U r absolutely gorgeous n ty for mentioning Mr. George Floyd!!!! ❤ I am a new planter gal if u will lol n I stumbled upon ur tutorial n I'm so happy I did!!!!
In your response to “the Floyd murder”..... Have you ever heard of Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams or Larry Elder? They are our national treasures. Walter died this year, but you can still watch his documentary “Suffer No Fools” along with so much wisdom he has left behind. Jason Riley did a documentary on Thomas Sowell entitled “Common Sense in a senseless world”. Larry Elder’s documentary “Uncle Tom” is out and phenomenal! These are our national treasures yet their names and amazing contribution to the world are silenced. Especially, during “black history” month. Why?
Thanks for taking the time to write this. I’m definitely going to look into these documentaries. I can only speak for myself but I’m honestly guilty of not educating myself on these issues. Until Mr Floyd’s murder, I honestly never took the time to understand the realities black people faced. Since then, I’ve been trying to educate myself and be more aware of what’s going on. I hear you loud and clear. Again, thanks for taking the time to write this. We all need to hear it!

Hi! That soil on its own tends to retain moisture so just be sure to always check the soil before you give it water. If you don’t like sticking your finger in the soil then use a moisture meter! I wait until mine is completely dry or reads 3 on the meter! Hope that helps!
I'll give that a shot foruse!
Looks great!
Where is the pot from??
It’s from Target 😁
Why my monstera leaves does not have so many splits ... it’s just have two or one split
The spot is too dark, he needs a brighter spot, not in the sun, but a clear room😉
What’s the name of the moss post? I can’t find it online :/
Hi, sorry so late on this! I got it from Amazon. Search Mosser Lee Totem Pole! Hope this helps!
Is it ok if the plant crackles a little while you’re bending it to be next to the moss pole? Or does that hurt it?
Hi! You want to be really gentle and try not to force the vine but the crackling does happen sometimes and monsteras are so resilient, it will bounce right back no problem!
Where do you buy your nursery pots?
Hi! I get mine from Home Depot! Thanks for watching! 😁
How deep do you put your moisture meter
Hi! In depends on the size of the pot. For larger pots I put the moisture meter all the way down. I wait until it reads dry before I water mine. Hope that helps! 🌱
Do you let the top roots just hang out because that’s what mine is doing
Hi! I leave the roots alone on mine and just let them hang down. Mine is on a plant stand so they’re not all over the floor just yet 😂
LifeStyle at a Glance okay ty mine isn’t that bad yet but do u suggest waiting until winter is over or can I repot now since it’s inside
I usually wait until after winter to repot mine. If you do pot up, just make sure you’re not overwatering since they’re not growing in the winter.
LifeStyle at a Glance thank You
RIP George Floyd: I just bought one last week and yours is huge also have purchased over 20 indoor plants during the pandemic
Yeah they get huge! 🤣 Same! I bought 6 new plants and ended up with mealy bugs on some of them 🤦🏻♀️
@@LifeStyleataGlance : Oh no how did you get rid of them???
Hi! Where can I get that same white pot?
Hi! It’s from Target! It has a stand too!
Whats the big thing in the middle of the old pot?
Oh nvm
Thanks for watching! 😄

I am soon done with Monstera as they grow too big and three turn into fifty in one year
😂😂 They’re definitely fast growers so I don’t blame you. You can take cuttings and grow a smaller plant for yourself and give away the larger one 😂🤣
You need to keep it climbing up & not out
@@flamom1 The ones I have are from a movie prop and have no rhyme or reason as they all have a mind of their own.And I wont give them away because i cant be sure they will be cared for so my Monsteras are now my Monsters.I wish I could plant them in the wild and set them free.
Ayo did yall hear her fart at 9:38 or am i tripping
pwede tagalog lng
😂😂 Unfortunately I can’t speak Tagalog anymore but I can understand it!
Not gonna say clickbait....but I came here for the feet 🤷🏽
It Looks like U need a Bigger pot just saying
Hi! I could have gone up another size up but honestly it wasn’t really pot bound to begin with. I just wanted to give it fresh soil. Maybe next year I could go up another size if it needs it. Thanks so much for watching!
Geeez.. I came here for plant tips, not your excuses 🤦🏻♀️
😅🤷🏻♀️
@@LifeStyleataGlance Who TF...? Does that? Anyways. Thanks for the Lip cutting Tip! Much Love. Peace ☮️!!!!!!
