I just repot my new monstera. The soil was disgusting and I noticed a spider web on top of the soil. One of the leaves was turning yellow around the edges. So I decided to remove ALL of the soil and small spider fell out. I clipped off the root rot and soaked only the roots in the tub with some peroxide and water. I also had a spray bottle of peroxide water and I sprayed all the leaves to sterilize any bacteria and small insects. I made sure all of the soil was completely off the roots and repotted it with miracle grow potting mix along with some extra perlite. It’s thriving and really happy now 😊👍
Monstera's always have extensive root systems. You could check six months later and they will be filling out the pot. One of my favorite plants is Monstera Deliciosa!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you SOO much for this vid! I have 3 that desperately need to be repotted and I have been putting it off because I didn’t know how. I also like your calm & reassuring voice ☺️
Wow I wish I watched this video before I attempted repotting my Monstera... my clam hands removed the delicate parts of the root system. It's still green four weeks later. But looking for best ways to heal this damage 😢
This Monstera is outdoors for a couple months as its "summer vacation" lol 🤷♀️ but yes, it'll come back indoors in early fall and overwinter indoors 🏡. I'm not sure how cold of temperatures it can take outdoors, so I keep these tropicals indoors whenever outdoor temps are below 10 degrees C / 50 degrees F....that's how I decide when its time for summer outdoor houseplant vacation!

Great practical tips! I get so intimidated by repotting... anything! You make it look so easy LOL!
Will you show how to stake a monstera? Or add a moss pole? I'd love to see that!
Did I miss something, I don’t see links for recommended potting soil as indicated in the video? Can you link the soil? Thanks so much!
I know I am about to leave a comment requesting those links as well.
Excellent guide, thanks for touching on the aerial roots ;)
This helped me properly repot my first Monstera (and plant in general) - thank you! :D

You’re such a joy, so helpful I’m going to repot my monstera today as she’s still in her plastic pot from the store! 😅
Do you recommend staking your monstera? Mine's starting to grow sideways

Not sure any I watched this AFTER repotting mine. Mine was very root bound but I was scared of damaging the roots so I didn’t do much unraveling 😞

I'm pretty sure you can save the leaves that are half broken by almost bandaging it
Check for rocks in the root ball
Thank you nice tips. I like the way you show to be gentle with plant.
If u were to make your own, what recipe would u use?
Try nice did you say this is an indoor plant?
